Chapter 17: Moving in
With her packed trunk and school bag, Hermione walked into Dumbledore's office. Her father's office.
"Hermione, dear, what is it?" McGonagall asked.
"Is the extra room ready?" Hermione asked.
"Yes. I set up at the start of the school year. There's enough room for you and Harry."
Hermione didn't say anything. She walked up the stairs to the top of the tower. There was an extra room with two beds. It was set up with Gryffindor colors. Red and gold. Hermione began unpacking her trunk. She placed her things in the dresser and closet on her side of the room.
McGonagall walked into the room and sat on the bed.
"You want to tell me what happened?" McGonagall asked.
"I am done with sleeping in Gryffindor tower."
McGonagall stayed silent. She watched as Hermione angrily slammed the drawer to her dresser.
"Hermione, honey, I am not just your mother. I am head of Gryffindor. If something happened. I need to know."
Hermione sighed. She sat next to McGonagall on the bed.
"It's fine, mum. I promise. I just want to move into my room. Please."
McGonagall placed a hand on her daughter's. "Of course you can, sweetie."
