(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Ymir Canyon)
We arrived back in Ymir Valley.
"Huh? Why does this place look so familiar?" Machias asked.
"Because it's the end of Ymir Valley. We were here during our trip." Rean answered. "Looks like we managed to make it back safely."
"W-Wow... We seriously traveled all that distance? Just like that?" Elliot asked
"Cool, huh? I'm looooooong needed a bath." I stretch. "Let's head back to Ymir. Oh, and By the way. You'll see some sort o Force Field on the way. I'll explain when we get there."
"Sounds like a plan." Fie replied. "My legs feel kinda like Jelly."
"It's astounding what your Divine Knight is capable of." Claire replied. "And in the same vein, it's disturbing to think the Azure Knight may be capable of this as well."
The Azure Knight. Crow. He and I still have a score to settle with. As well as that bitch Vita. As the Arbiter, I will give them a suitable punishment.
"Okay. Now mind explaining what did you just do?" Celine asked
"Oh yeah. I was curious the same thing." Rean said.
"Hmm…" I begin to think how to explain it. "Well… this is actually new information to me as well. I was told of this by my master a month ago. But I merge with the Divine Knight."
"You MERGE with the Divine Knight!?" Celine exclaimed
"How in the world did you do that?!" Machias exclaimed
"It's has something to do with my power." I answered. "Because of my power. I was able to merge with the Divine Knight. Or any Divine Knight for that matter. When I merge. I share my power with Valimar and Rean."
"That's… incredible though." Rean stated
"Yeah. Because of the merge. You were able to Materialize the Tachi by using my power." I nodded.
"That would explain the power suddenly flowing with me."
"Yeah. But it was also wise that you take the weapon those Panzer Soldats with you when we left."
"True. Still… this is new information that not even I am aware off." Celine said.
"Like I said. This is new to me too. My master was the one who told me this ability. If you're asking who IS my master… Not even I know. He keep a lot of secrets from me. Still, if you ever want me to merge with you Rean. Let me know."
"Got it." Rean nodded
We return to Ymir and check on Rean's father. Looks like he's going all well. Thank goodness. But he's still in bed. Today we rest.

(Trails of Cold Steel ost II - Relief Towards Tomorrow)
I was in the hotel reading a book. And then Rean came in and then look for me.
"Oh hey Levi." Rean said.
"Hey Rean. What can I do for you?"
"Nothing. Just wanted to see you're doing. Reading a book I see."
"Yeah. I would like to ask to go Horseback riding while exploring the Ymir pathway but no… so that aside is reading a book or just go relax at the hot spring."
"Hehe. I'm sure my mom and dad don't mind using the horses we have on the stable. The horses do need some exercise like we do."
"Really? Well I'll ask your mom next time. So do you have questions about my power?"
"Well yes…"
"I promise once everyone is here. I'll explain." I said.
"I know. I will hold you to that." Rean said. Then he begin to think for a moment. "So Levi. Want to relax with me on the Footbath?"
"The Footbath? Hmm… well… yeah. That would be nice."
So me and Rean begin to head to the Footbath and then we begin to head to the foot bath and then soak our feet in the nice warm water in the cold winter air.
"Ahh~ This feels so nice. Man, I love your hometown Rean…" I sigh of relief
"Hehe. I'm glad you like it. Oh and thanks for the barrier you place in too. I know Ymir is safe thanks to your power." Rean smiled.
"Well of course. This place hold a special place in my heart. I couldn't allow it to get hurt. But I also hold regret and rage…"
"Regret and rage? Why?" Rean asked
"Well for starters… Crow betray my friendship. He betray all of us…" I answered as I look mad.
"Ah…" Rean look a bit sad.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Whereabouts of Feelings)
"I honestly can't believe Crow was clever enough to fool everyone and is the leader of the Imperial Liberation Front. Not to mention he's also the Azure Awakener… Why would Crow betray us… Does our friendship mean nothing to him? How can he betray us like this? And to make it worst; he helped the Noble Alliance Bastards who abuse their power and even done so many horrible things. I honestly don't understand… and I will not forgive him for his betrayal… If I see him again… I will… Ah…" And then I recall I was not alone. I sighed. " I'm sorry Rean… You probably don't want to hear all the things I said."
"No. It's alright." Rean said and I look at him surprised. "I don't understand it either… how he betrayed Class Vll… Geroge… Towa… the Academy. I don't get it either. But… I want to know…"
"Rean…"
"I want to know why Crow did these things… why he would go through extreme length to get his revenge. The only one who can answer that is Crow himself. There is a lot I wanted to ask him. But… I'm not going to give up."
"You're not?" I asked
"Yeah. And neither will you. Crow has a reason, no doubt. Just like your reasons with your power and my reason with my power, don't you think?"
I was speechless but then I sigh and smile. "Yeah… that is true…" Then look up at the sky. "Crow may have a reason… and as his friends… we will take him back…even if we drag him…while I'm going to punch the living crap out of him. But… I will at least hear him out though. So the next time we see him. We will face him, together."
"Yeah. Together." Rean nodded

(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Refreshing Morning)
After spending two days of resting at Ymir, we were outside Rean's family home, ready to set off and travel to our next destination. As time flies. We begin to prepare for our next choice of action.
"Well, then, it's time to get going." Elliot said. "We're going to be using Valimar's power this time too, right?"
"Yeah. The Spirit Path is going to be our best bet of travelling." Rean replied. "His mana should've recovered by now. And thanks to Levi. He was able to restore Mana into him."
"Yes, he should have more than plenty after resting for a few days with Levi's help." Celine said. "I take it all of you are rested too?"
Fie nodded. "Yup."
"I'm feeling refreshed." I answered. "Time to resume our next operation."
"Come to think of it, what happened to Toval and Captain Claire?" Machias asked.
"I'm not sure..." Lady Schwarzer answered. "They headed off somewhere early this morning."
"Sorry for the delay, I'd thought we be back before now." A voice responded.
We saw Toval and Claire join us.
"Where'd you two go?" Rean asked.
"We decided to do one more round to check Ymir's defenses within this barrier." Claire answered. "I wanted to make sure the communications equipment that I modified yesterday was functioning properly, too."
"Good news is that everything's in tip top shape." Toval added. "Which means Ymir's now got a line of communication with the 4th Armored Division and the RMP."
"Really? Talk about convenient." Elliot replied.
"And it's good to see we have some defense too just in case." I added.
"Still, Toval and I are in agreement that it wouldn't be wise for us to leave the village completely unguarded regardless of the barrier." Claire said. "So a few of us should stay behind to keep an eye on things around here."
"That's probably for the best." Machias responded.
Fie nodded. "Good idea."
"The bigger our group is, the more likely we are to stand out as suspicious even if we do use the Spirit Path." Rean said. "To even things out, I think it'd be better if Toval or you stayed behind, Captain."
"You read my mind." Toval replied. "I think a couple of you guys should probably stick around, too."
"We can discuss that while walking along the valley." Celine said. "There's no point in splitting up right here, right now. But try and make your mind up before we get to Valimar."
Rean nodded. "Sure thing, let's get going. We'll see you in a bit, Mom."
"All right. Take Care!" Lady Schwarzer smiled. "I need all of you to come back here to me as soon as you can, okay?"
"Yes ma'am!" I cheered
"Of course. We'll be back before you know it!" Elliot smiled
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Ymir Canyon)
We left the village and walked up the valley to make our way to the stone monument and saw Valimar in sleep mode.
"All right. Here we are again." Machias said.
"Is he still asleep?" Fie asked.
Rean nodded. "Looks that way. Valimar! Can you hear me?"
Full lights glowed up on Valimar. "Reawakening from inactive state...reboot complete." He spoke. "Awakener and secondary contractor waveforms detected."
"Good. He has full Mana now." Celine said. "Thank to a certain someone's help."
"Man, he really is amazing." Elliot added.
"Haha. I think i'm starting to get used to him, weird as that sound. Okay. Where to, guys?" Toval asked.
"Hmm, we should probably double check where everyone currently is first." Rean answered. "Valimar, can you update us on where the others are?"
"Repeating search..." Valimar responded. "Three of the remaining secondary contractors are to the northeast, in the Nord region. Three are to the south-southeast, in the Legram region. All vital signs appear normal."
"Phew, they're still safe."
"It seems that way." Celine added.
Elliot nervous laughed. "Well, if nothing happened to me, there's no way anything could happen to the rest of us."
"I'm glad they're okay." Fie replied
"So, where to next, Rean?" I asked. "Both Nord and Legram are miles away from here."
"I think Nord's a little bit closer, if I recall." Rean answered. "Any objections there?"
"Nope... Nord is also Gaius's homeland. If I can take a guess, Gaius is there. But i'm also worried about Nord too. Have you found anything that's going on in Nord Claire?"
I'm afraid not." Claire shake her head. "We don't really have any resources to spare that far north at the moment. However, I do know that the Elite 3rd Armored Division is station there. It's not hard to imagine there being a rise in conflict between them and the Nortia Provincial Army."
"That's true. We'll have to keep on our toes in Nord as much as anywhere else." Toval nodded
"I better hope nothing happens to that beautiful land. If they were to harm it. They'll be begging for mercy." I muttered. "Anyway, so I guess you gotta choose who's coming with you. Don't forget you need three of us. Two of Class VII and either Toval or Claire."
"Right..." Rean hummed. "Levi, Fie, are you ready to join me?"
I nodded. "Yep, I'm ready to go, plus I love to go back horseback riding!"
"I haven't been to Nord before, so I'm willing to go." Fie added.
Rean smiled. "Okay...Captain Claire, would you mind coming along for support?"
"Of course, I'll do all I can to give you three some backup." She replied.
"All right, then it's time to go." Rean turned to Elliot, Machias and Toval. "I'll leave Ymir in your care, you three."
"Don't worry, we'll take care of everything here." Machias replied.
"Ymir'll be just fine, or I'm not a bracer." Toval added.
Elliot nodded. "Just make sure you come back safe, okay?"
"We'll bring them back for sure." I assured.
"Well then, we should be going." Claire said. "The highlands are well known for their vastness. We're going to need to be very careful once we arrive."
"Valimar, open the Spirit Path." Celine turned to Valimar. "Our destination is the Nord Highlands to the northeast!"
"Acknowledged." Valimar responded. "Activating Spirit Path..."
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Silent Exhalation)
A huge magic circle appeared around us and we started floating across the portal, seeing the beautiful and magical scene again. It sure warms my heart. I hope everyone is okay. The journey wasn't for long, when I closed my eyes from a bright flash, we opened them to find ourselves in the middle of a stone ruined circle.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Wintery Arrival)
"Hey, this looks familiar." I said. "Wasn't this where we had that battle with Millium?"
"Yeah, we're at the stone circle in the southern part of the highlands." Rean answered.
"So you two fought here?" Fie asked.
"Haha. I heard all about that from Millium, actually." Claire said.
"This spot's fairly high up, too, so it won't be easy to see you from ground level." Celine added. "We should be able to leave Valimar here without him being found."
Claire nodded. "Celine's right. This area is an excellent place to keep Valimar. That aside, this view is spectacular. My work allows me to see different places all across Erebonia, but I've never seen anywhere quite like this."
I nodded. "I know what you mean. It's a beautiful land of serenity and nature. I love Nord. It's almost like my homeland. Except I wasn't born here. I wish I know where I'm from." I sighed. "Well, how should we do this?" I asked.
"We need to start gathering information on where everyone might be." Rean answered. "I say we start by heading to either the settlement to the north or Zender Gate to the south."
"That settles is where Gaius is from, right?" Fie asked.
"Zender Gate's where the 3rd Armored Division is stationed, too." Claire said. "It's the perfect choice if we want to go somewhere with plenty of people around."
"Yeah. They're both a ways away on foot, but either one's worth a shot." Rean nodded.
We walked down the hill of the stone circle and around the small field path and when we were on the open giant field, when suddenly we heard gunfire.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Hostilities)
We saw three thanks moving along. Not only that. But many broken tanks there too. we saw a squad of soldats chasing them. The Noble Alliance. Just before a soldot can destroy a tank. Suddenly an ambush on the Soldats force to retreat in the far distance near where the watchtower was.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost Wintery Arrival)
"Guys. You know I love Nord Highland, right?" I asked as I can feel the urge of rage boiling up on me.
"Yeah?" Rean asked.
"With the Noble Alliance here. I might be doing something reckless. But I'm alright. At least the land itself isn't harmed. For now at least."
"I guess even a place as far out as Nord couldn't avoid becoming a battlefield."
"The Soldats might be simple copies of the Divine Knights, but those soldiers still did well in repelling them." Celine added.
"If you ask me. The Soldats are actually just weak toys compared to the Divine Knight." I shrug. "Now that I brought it up. I guess you can say they're... descendants of the Divine Knights?"
"Descendants, huh?" Fie asked. "Well, that's one way to put it. But they don't have what the Divine Knights do."
"True. Still. I'm amazed the tanks were able to harm those things."
"That was one of the strategies the army developed to hinder the Soldats' mobility and make them easier to handle." Claire explain.
"Really? That's so cool!"
"Yes. Their execution was brilliant, to say the least. Every one of their units worked together flawlessly. It's clear as say how both the lieutenant general and his division gained their stellar reputation."
Fie nodded. "Yeah, they're no pushovers."
"Just like Elliot's Dad division. Makes me wonder which one of them is stronger." I hummed.
"Well, the one positive out of this is that we now know the lieutenant general is holding out all right." Rean replied. "But why did the Noble Alliance choose to retreat in that direction?"
"I don't know but I really really have a bad feeling about it. That's where the Imperial Army's watchtower is... wait... oh no... please don't tell me they seize it."
"The fastest way to figure that out is to ask the soldiers at Zender Gate." Celine said.
Claire nodded. "That sounds like a good idea. I'm sure they won't mind answering a few questions after that last battle."
We continue to walk to reach Zender Gate.
"But honestly though... I can't believe there are Soldats out here..." Rean trailed off.
"You and me both. But how did they manage to bring them here?" I wondered
"They couldn't use the highway, so that just leaves..." Claire hummed
While thinking long as possible. We continue to walk the vast land of Nord. About a couple of more minutes of walking like 20 minutes or something or more. We nearly reach Zender Gates. Soon we arrived as we see a group of armored tanks and soldiers.
"Whew, we're finally here." Rean said.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Preparing for War)
I sighed. "I wish we had the horses right now. I'm really itching for horseback riding right about now. Though it doesn't surprise me that it's more alerted from that battle just now."
"Yeah. I just hope the lieutenant general is able to meet with us."
"I hope so. I REALLY want to go horseback riding right now."
"Who goes there!?"
Three soldiers noticed us and rushed over before aiming their weapons at us.
"Hey what the heck!?" I exclaimed
"What are a bunch of civilians like you doing in a place like this?" One of them asked. "You sure don't look like you're from the settlement."
"Put your hands in the air!" The third solider ordered.
"Please wait. We come in peace." Claire said. "While I may not be traveling in military uniform, I am captain Claire Rieveldt of the Railway Military at all possible, we'd like to request a meeting with Lieutenant General Vander."
"You're the Icy Miaden!?" The first one exclaimed
"The rest of us are students of Thors Military academy. We only just arrived at the Highlands." Rean added
"Thors, you say?"
"Wasn't there a bunch of students from Thors who came here on a field study a few months back?"
"Yeah. And me and my friend here were here during of field study." I nodded.
"Now that you mention it, young man. You and him do look kind of familiar."
"Rest assured, they are exactly who they claim to be."
We turned our attention to the familiar lieutenant general and the soldiers stood aside and saluted.
"It has been some time, Rean Schwarzer of Class VII." Zechs said. "And the same to you, Levi Sullivan. I presume those of you I don't recognize are classmates whose field studies took place elsewhere."
"Yep." Fie nodded
"Good day, general." Claire saluted.
"I'm impressed that you all were able to make it here. The ferocity of this war raging around us grows worse by the day. Come, it would be my honor to speak with you and field any questions you have in my office."
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Vilgilant Fighting Spirit)
We nodded and followed him into the gate building and inside his office.
"Lieutenant General. We're glad that you and your troops are okay. But what happened?" I asked. "We witness that battle with you and the Alliance just now, but how did they manage to bring their soldats in Nord?"
"As for the situation you just saw in the field, there is a good reason. The Noble Alliance has gained control of the watchtower."
"The watchtower's been overtaken by the Noble Alliance?!" Rean asked.
"Ooh, it's just as I feared." I muttered.
Zechs nodded. "I'm afraid so. It happened not long after the war began. They've been using it as a base of operations from which to attack Zender Gate. Now we have to fight off their offensives from both sides of the border."
"Sounds like a bad situation to be in." Fie said.
"The situation here is certainly less then Ideal." Said Major Lyell."We've been doing all we can to hold out, even resorting to using the old model tanks. It's been successful so far, but..."
"I see. Sounds like it'll only be a matter of time before the gate falls." Celine said
"Celine!" Rean exclaimed.
"You're not supposed to talk to other people remember." I added.
Celine sighed. "It's already too late, and I was just speaking my mind. Besides, this lieutenant general knows what he's doing."
"You're too kind. But yes, she's not mistaken. Without a significant development in our favor, I expect this base to fall within the month." Zechs replied. "We're doing all we can to avoid that, but it is a possibility we must accept sooner or later."
"If I may ask, how did the watchtower fall into enemy hands to begin with?" Claire asked. "I imagine it would have been well guard, considering it was built to keep watch on the Republic."
"It was. The soldiers there would have been highly vigilant, too. thanks to the attack mere months prior. However, none of us could have imagined the card that the alliance would play to take it from us. I understand if you find this hard to believe, but we have reason to believe the alliance has temporarily joined hands with the Republic."
"An alliance with Calvard?!" I exclaimed. "But isn't Erebonia and Calbard are enemies? Are you actually certain?"
"I am. The soldiers who were stationed at the watchtower at the time have testified as such. The day it fell, they came under attack by Republican airships. And while they were focused on fighting those off. They were attacked by Erebonian ships full of Soldats from the west. They didn't stand a chance."
"The Alliance loves to play dirty tricks don't they?" I muttered.
"There seems to be no room for doubt in that case, then." Claire said.
"Erebonia and Calbard have been at each others' throats like cats and dogs for forever." Fie replied.
"Look what we have here is a case of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend.'." Celine added.
I hummed. "That's one way of putting it. But I also suppose that adds up to there is no fairness in war."
"It's gets worse. Ever since the watchtower fell, all of our orbal communications have cut out, too." major Lyell added. "That's true for the whole highland, actually, so we can't even call for reinforcements from the mainland."
"I see. Well, that sure doesn't sound like a coincidence." Rean replied.
"Ha! We're inclined to agree." Zech chuckled. "From what we can tell, there's nothing wrong with the orbal communications equipment. I just wish we could get in contact with Gwyn."
"Gwyn?" I eyebrow at first but memory resurfaced. "Oh yeah! Alisa's grandfather."
"I do recall getting information saying that Gwyn Reinford was staying here in Nord." Claire replied. "He definitely would be the ideal person to discuss technical issues with."
"Yeah. If anyone could get to the bottom of this, it's him." Rean nodded. "Of course, if you could just call him and ask, you wouldn't need his help to begin with."
"You need't concern yourself with us." Major Lyell said. "This war is between us and the alliance."
"Exactly." Zech nodded. "Leave the fighting to us, you just focus on your tasks. We have no intention of relying on the help of your Divine Knight. I would rather you use it to protect yourselves, anyway. You have no reason to suffer because of this war. Besides, you've come all this way, I'm sure Gaius would very much like to see you."
"Gaius is here?!" Rean asked.
"I knew it!" I cheered
"I believe so. I haven't met with him yet myself, but he left a message for me with one my men." Zechs continued. "He supposedly returned here roughly a week ago with several other students. He said that he wanted to assess the situation here before taking off to his home settlement to the north."
"Then he should be back home by now." Fie replied.
"Well it should be obvious, we are in Nord after all." I pointed out. "Knowing him, he must be worried about everyone in the settlement so of course he rushes all the way here."
Zechs nodded. "The fighting here grows more fierce with every sunrise. I won't stop you from going after your classmates, but I would ask that you be careful not to get caught up in any of the fighting. The nomads are preparing to more their settlement farther north to avoid getting drawn into it themselves, I believe."
"Sounds like we need to hear north quickly." Celine advised.
"And not a moment too soon." I added. "Since we are in a hurry, we should use horses to get there too."
"Yes, good thinking, Sullivan." Vander nodded. "You use the horse the last time you and Rean were here on your field study. That way, you'll be already used to handling them."
"Thank you for your kindness, sir." Rean said.
"We appreciate it, sir." Claire added.
We left the office and then out of the gate.
"All right, let's head for the settlement." Rean said. "It should only be an hour away on horseback."
"Ahh, I'm so happy to go horseback riding again! And in Nord too!" I cheered but focus. "That reminds me, Fie, Claire, do you two know how to ride horses?"
"No. Never ridden one." Fie answered.
"I know how to ride one. But that depends how many horses they will bring out." Claire answered "If they will give us three horses, then Fie can ride with one of you. We shouldn't have any trouble."
"Good point. So which one will you ride with, Fie?" I asked
"Hmm, I would suggest Claire. Someone has to hold Celine." Fie answered.
"Then it settled. We should hurry. The sooner we reach the settlement, the better."
"Right!" Rean nodded
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Wintery Arrival)
We begin to head outside and waiting until three horses were brought out by the soldiers. The Brown, the Light brown and the white. I got on the light brown one in the back since I have already ridden him before. Rean got on the one at the front with Celine on his back, whilst Claire got on the third and Fie held on to her from behind.
"Hello there, my friend." I spoke to the horse. "You ready to catch up on lost time?"
The horse snorted and I smile, as we began to move out on the horses, I suddenly noticed a familiar student. It was Mint, one of the students I became a friend with from the music club, I was wondering what had happened to the other students from the other classes. I made a note to let Elliot know that one of our music club friends is okay.
We galloped onwards to the settlement.
"Ahh~ Riding on horseback is the best." I cheered as we gallop.
"It feels like we're one with the wind." Fie added, much to her surprise.
Claire chuckled. "Glad I still remembered how to ride a horse."
As begin to gallop almost an hour as Rean said. "The settlement's dead ahead."
"You think we'll find Gaius, there?" Fie asked
"Probably. He is worried about everyone after all." I replied.
"If they've started evacuating, it's hard to say." Claire said.
"I hope they're all right..."
We nearly arrived at the settlement. And when we arrived, we dismount our horses and we find nearly all of the homes not there, it was quiet as well...too quiet. Wait… I sense presence here… we're not alone…
"Guys… we got company." I got my Glaive ready for battle.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Law of the battlefield)
Suddenly, a group of jaeger soldiers arrived and surrounded us.
"I'm impressed you managed to ambush us. There aren't many places to hide here."
"They must have sensed us coming and decided to lay in wait." Rean muttered
"And by the way they move, I'm guessing they're part of a jaeger corps." Claire added.
"I recognize that armor." I said "You one of those jaegers who invade Ymir."
"Wha?! It's him! The one who easily took out our comrades!" One of the jaeger soldiers said. "But you're right, we're jaegers known as Nidhoggr!"
"Nidhoggr?"
"Nidhoggr's a pretty high-ranking corps." Fie explained. "I've never fought them myself, but they have a reputation for being reliable and efficient with their work."
"I've seen them in the Intelligence Division's files as well. They're not to be taken lightly." Claire said. "They're not to be taken lightly."
"I guess we have some fun, while we're at it. What do you say Nidhoggr?" I asked with a smirked
"That's fine by us. No need for us to hold back, then." One of them answered
(Trails Of Cold Steel II ost - Take The Windward!)
"Our orders were to arrest anyone who seems suspicious- and you're definitely that. Don't expect any mercy from us!"
"We'll respond in kind."
The battle started. Fie and I formed a combat link and we were an Agile and hard hitting duo. The Jaegers with their guns shoot bullets at us but we easily dodge and I strike with some strong slashes as Fie slash through and then bullet attack him from the back and force him on it's knees. Rean and Claire mixed their close and Range attacks by using Rean's Gale Craft and Claire's sharpshooting. One of them tried to slash us while the other begin to shoot. Fie and I catch them by surprise by slashing them, and then Rean and Claire finish them off with a rush attack to eliminate two of them and ending the battle.
"Ugh… that silver hair boy is crazy strong…" One of them said.
"Still… not bad." One of them muttered.
"Looks like all the rumors about how strong you gys are were true." Fie replied.
"I love a good battle so I don't mind facing strong opponents." I chuckled.
"Still, the victory is ours this time." Rean replied. "If you know what's good for you, you'll give up and surrender. Now."
"Heh. Aren't you cocky?" One of them smirked.
"I'd like to see how much longer that confidence lasts after this." One of them also smirked
Just before I was about to ask, the jaegers called for back up, two more soldiers and four armored jaguars showed up.
"What the?!" Rean exclaimed.
"They had military monsters lying in wait this whole time." Claire muttered.
"Well, there is a saying, "Never play your trump card until the end." I added
"Ha! Silver hair boy gets it. That's how battles should always be fought." One of them smirked. "That battle allowed us to understand what you do and how well you do it. Now it's time to finish you off!"
"I like to see you try."
I was going to take them all out using Vortex plunger but then I sense a new presence coming towards us fast. We heard a squawk from an eagle that flew by, then we heard a neigh from a horse that was fast approaching.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Awakening)
The familiar guy on it roared as he took a lot of them down. Once that's done. His horse prance and he ready his spear. I knew it!
"Is everyone all right?!" Gaius asked.
"Gaius!" Rean exclaimed.
"Wow! Nice timing, Gaius!" I cheered
Fie nodded, smiling. "Nice timing indeed."
"I'm just glad I made it in time." Gaius said. "Now, allow me to fight at your side!"
"Damn! They weren't alone!" One of the jaegers muttered
"I wasn't expecting a horseman to come to their aid... Well played..." One of them said. "Still, if that's how you want to do things, then-"
And then that's when one of them got a call and were forced to retreat, the coast was now clear.
"We got lucky." Fie said as we put away our weapons.
"They behaved like a high-ranking jaeger corps to the very end. Precise and logical." Claire added
"Well, I'm glad they're gone, but how are they able to contact when the 3rd Armored Division can't?" I asked.
"Yeah. Which begs the question: how was Nidhoggr able to use one when the 3rd Armored Division can't." Rean nodded
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Reunion)
"It's good to see you, guys." Gaius said as he got off his horse and approached us.
"Haha. You were right on time, Gaius." Rean replied. "Thanks for saving us. I don't know what we would've done without you."
"No thanks needed between old friends. And to you, Levi. Though I wasn't expecting you were an angel this whole time."
"Yeah, I'm not an actual angel though, that was just for show. Still, I really grateful that you're alright too." I replied before I felt sad. "Still, It must've been horrible, seeing my powers all of the sudden, as well as what I've done to Crow."
"There is no need to worry about that. It's understandable from the way you feel. I don't blame you for that. Even though there were some extreme measures."
"Oh Gaius..."
And then I hug Gaius. "Thanks."
Gaius chuckled and hug back. "It's no problem at all. Does that mean you will be willing to tell us?"
"Yeah. I will tell you everything...once everyone of us is back together."
"Heh. I understand." Then Gaius and I let go of the hug. "Funny, it's only now starting to sink in that it's really you both. I've been praying for this day to come since the day we parted. It brings me more joy than I can express to see you both standing before me."
"Levi and I feel the same way." Rean replied with a smile. "When we parted, you put your in harm's way to protect a guy like me. And here you are, doing it again. Thanks for never giving up on me, Gaius."
"Haha. Of course, I'd help you. No hardship is too great to endure for the sake of you and our classmates. As sure as the wind blows on a peaceful day, that will never change. Not now, not ever."
"Haha. Thanks."
Then they shake hands.
"That's one less person to worry about." Fie said.
"It brings me joy to see you safe and sound as well, Fie." Gaius smiled. "I wasn't expecting you to come all the way to Nord to find me."
"Well I had a feeling you would return to your homeland because you're worried for everyone here." I said as I place my arms over my neck. "Guess my hunch was right."
"Haha. Perhaps it was too obvious."
"Still, the thing that hurt me now is that Nord is being invaded by the alliance scum."
"And this beautiful land is gradually being engulfed by the flames of war.
"Yeah." Yean nodded. "We can't just stand back and allow that to keep happening."
"What do you guys say we talk more while we move?" Gaius suggested
"Sounds good. So where is everyone of the settlement hiding?" I asked
"They're in Lake Lacrima. I'll guide you there." Gaius replied.
"That's where Gwyn's cabin is, isn't it?" Rean asked.
"Indeed. We've all moved over there for the time being. Alisa and Millium included."
"Well, that was easy." Fie said.
"Alisa and Millium, huh? That's reassuring." I replied
"So Millium is okay." Claire sighed, happily.
"You let them to safety, i'm guessing?" Rean asked
"Oh, even if I know the area, they've done far more for me than I have for them." Gaius chuckled as he walk towards his horse. "But you'll see soon enough. 'll show you the fastest route there."
(Trails of Cold Steel ost Nomadic Settlement)
We got on our horses and Gaius led the way as we passed through the open area of the north of the highlands until we reached Lake Lacrima to see the nomad settlement and the cabin by the top right. We were greeted by some of the people before we met with Gaius's parents. It had been a long time since we last saw them.
"Greetings everyone." Gaius's father Lucan greeted. "For those of us who haven't met before, I'm Lacan, Gaius's father."
"And I'm his mother, Fatma." Fatma greeted. "It's a pleasure to meet more of his friends."
"You're his mom?" Fie blink. "You look so young, I thought you were his sister."
Fatma giggled. "I'll take it as a compliment. It's a relief to see you all safe and sound. We were all worried about you."
"So were we, especially with the possibility of you all getting swept up in one of the battles here." Rean nodded.
"I'm actually surprised you weren't." Celine replied.
"I'm quite curious that the alliance would take their battle here in Nord..." I sighed.
"We received word from Zender Gate shortly before everything kicked off. Which gave us enough time to relocate, fortunately." Lucan replied.
"We also arrived in Nord around that time, too, so we were able to assist in moving the settlement here." Gaius added. "And that about sums up what we've done ever since leaving Thors."
"Surprisingly lucky timing, I'd say." Rean said
"Still, what concerns me now is how long the battle will keep up." I sighed.
"Indeed." Claire nodded. "It's entirely impossible that even this region could become a war zone soon enough."
Lucan hummed. "Personally, I'm more concerned about the jaegers stationed around in the highland. Things aren't going to get easier for us any time soon so long as this war continues."
"But as true as that may be, we'd like for you all to focus on your main objective for now. Gaius isn't the only one you came to find, is he?" Fatma asked
Now that you mention it, I haven't seen Alisa and Millium around." Rean responded. "Do you know where they are?"
"I notice Gwyn isn't here, either. Is he with them?" Gaius asked
"They made their way to the northeastern region of the highlands not that long ago." Lucan answered. "Gwyn is with them too, he mentioned that he wanted to look into something there. I believe he was hoping to find what caused all the orbal communications here in Nord to cut out."
"Oh, we heard about that." Rean replied. "It doesn't seem like the jaegers' equipment is affected any."
"Strangely enough yes." Claire hummed. "I would bet that the Noble Alliance is involved somehow, too."
"I was thinking the same. Nothing is good whenever the Alliance is around." I said. "I suggest we follow Alisa and the others. They may need our help once we're out there."
"I was thinking the same." Rean nodded.
"We have nothing to lose by checking." Gaius added. "Sorry for leaving so soon, but I don't think we'll be too long."
"Oh, not at all." Fatma smiled.
"You shouldn't have any trouble reaching the northeastern region of the highlands if you have Gaius with you." Lucan smiled. "Good luck, and may the blessings of the winds and the Goddess be with you."
"Off we go, then." Fie said.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost Wintery Arrival)
We then left the settlement and Gaius led the way to the northeast part of the north highlands area. The breeze here is colder than it was before. Well, it is December.
"The wind here is colder. It is December. That time of year." I replied as the wind is blowing my hair to the left.
"They headed to the east of here, right?" Rean asked.
"Right. We need to follow the path past the statue." Gaius nodded
We all turn to the husk of the Sept-Terrion of Lost Gem.
"I wonder how many large tall is it/ It's big even from here." Fie wondered
"I'd heard humors about it, but nothing compares to seeing it in person." Claire replied.
"Ha, trust me. It's, even more, overwhelming from close up." Rean sated.
The wind blow my hair to the east. "Hmm?"
"Something the matter, Levi?" Gaius asked
"I can feel the wind is calling to me to head east of here."
Gaius chuckled. "You know Levi. Considering if you can 'hear' the wind and raise here, that technique makes you one of us."
"Really? Well, I'm honored to be a nomad." I smiled. "But I wasn't joking either. I can feel the wind is definitely calling me to head east."
"I can feel it too. We should go and let the wind guide us."
We begin to gallop and then after a few minutes. We begin to pass the statue.
"This way leads to the northeastern part of the highlands." Gaius said.
"It's my first time riding this far." Rean replied.
"Same here. I wonder what we will see." I nodded.
As I said earlier. I haven't been through this route before. But I'm so curious. We begin to ride towards the pathway and arrived at a new territory. Just like the Highland. It's so beautiful. And in front of us from a distance was a large stone natural bridge.
"From here on out, it's all a new territory for me. How far goes it extend, Gaius?" Rean asked.
"This'll actually takes you all the way to the Calvard Republic." Gaius answered. "If we keep going straight ahead, you can see the watchtower to the south as well."
"That could be a problem for us now that it's under the Noble Alliance's control." Claire pointed out. "We'll have to be careful that none of their patrol airships notice us."
"Let's hope we can find Alisa and Millium and hope they're all right." I replied.
"The cause of the region's orbal communications issue may be somewhere here, too." Gaius added. "But the cliffs are steep and the winds strong, so keep steady."
"Got'cha." Rean nodded
"Roger that." I nodded
We begin to ride the pathway and across the precarious bridge. It looks large and study enough to get across to the other side. When we were halfway across however, we suddenly heard a roar.
"What was that?!" I exclaimed then see something from the distance. "Guys look!"
(Trails of Cold Steel ost -Unkownn Threat)
We see from the distance and noticed a giant iced monster that looks awfully familiar approaching Alisa, Millium, and Gwyn. As for that monster… don't tell me it's a Cryptid...
"We found them, but they're in trouble! We have to hurry!" Rean exclaimed
"Let's go! Ha!" I nodded
We galloped over quickly and Alisa and Millium tried to fight back and protect Gwyn, but their attacks were not doing much. I brought out my Glaive, yell out a roared, and then use Piercing Toss at it and knock down the monster to the side as we arrive in time. My Glaive return to my hand and we dismount as it slowly got up and got our weapons in hand.
"Are you guys okay?!" I asked.
"We'll back you up!" Fie added
Gwyn gasped. "Well, if it isn't Gaius... And you two are..!"
"Rean! Levi!" Alisa said happily.
"You're both totally alive!" Millium added with relief. "And Claire's with you too, triple score!"
"We can talk later!" Claire responded. "Our first priority is taking down this beast!"
"Just be careful!" Celine warned. "This is no ordinary beast, it's a cryptid!"
"Ohh… I was afraid of that… All right, bring it on!" I exclaimed.
The battle began and Alisa and Millium joined the battle. The Ic Crypid roared and launched shards of ice projections towards us but we dodge and split up. Fie and I went first and we knocked it back a little as Rean and Claire went next and they dealt same damage. Alisa launch her arrows from a safe distance and then the Crypid launch an Icy breath at Alisa and she was caught in the breath attack and froze her. Gaius use his tornado craft and got the beast's attention as Millium unfreeze her combat link partner. We all split up and then strike at the beast and then the Crypid launched a strong spin tail attack not us. We dodge as I backflip fast and then launch my Glaive on the Crypids head as it roared. I landed on the head and it's sub-zero cold. It tried to shake me off but Rean and Claire launch their attack as everyone else join in the attack and cause the beast to distract and launch an Ice missile at us. I pulled my Galive out of its head and then backflip and then use Wave of Aquarius on it. Alisa Launched a firey arrow storm on it as Rean launched a flame dragon attack on it. And their partners follow up and strike. Then Millium and Fie launched their attacks onto it as Gaius use his craft too. The Crypid use it stomped and push some of us back and then launched an icy breath attack, following a strong tailspin attack. It push me back while some got hit by the breath attack. Then it begin to surround itself with Ice missiles. And then I begin to cast my Arts and strike the Crypid. Soon Rean use his S craft on it. Follow up by Gaius S craft. And then finally My S craft, Aries Galaxy. Alisa fire a strong Arrow show at it and Millium with her combat doll launched a strong punch and push it back, making it unbalance. And then Claire use her S craft on it and the beast Explode into purple Light.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Winter Arrival)
"Whew...down it goes." Rean said.
"Yeah, that should've done it." Gaius added.
"You called it a cryptid, right?" Fie asked.
"Right. Ordinarily, cryptids shouldn't exist on this plane to begin with." Celine answered. "But there's something abnormal taking place here in Erebonia...and it's not the war. I can only assume that abnormality having an effect on the land is what caused it to appear."
"Some abnormality?" Rean asked.
"Are you implying that something else might be happening at the same time as the war?" Claire added.
"We should consider all possibilities." I pondered
Millium turned with a big smile. "Claire, I'm so happy to see you!" She rushed over to hug her.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Reunion)
"Millium, I'm so glad that you're alright, it's wonderful to see you again." Claire hugged her in return.
"Yeah, same to you. That new outfit you got looks smokin' on you, too."
"Smokin', huh?"
'I won't deny that.' I thought.
"Rean!" Alisa called.
Rean turned to see her running before hugging him close.
"It's really you, isn't it? It's really really, you? I can't believe I'm finally seeing you again."
"Neither can I... So... umm... have you been doing okay? I'm so glad you were able to find Gwyn at least."
"Yeah, I...wait a minute! Never mind me, what about YOU? Where have you been ever since we parted back at Trista? And how did you end up coming here?! And I can see how you would be with Celine, but how come you're with the others?"
"Haha...it's a long story. I'll fill you in on all the details you want later, but that'll have to do for now. Sorry for being a pain...also, I'm not the only one who's here."
Alisa then turn to me and smiled as she continued hugging Rean.
"Levi...you're alright too..."
"Yeah, I am...I'm sorry for how horrible things you witness I've done to Crow back at Trista. And... use my magic to have you all stand down." I replied sadly as I look the other way. "I was guessing you don't want to see me."
"Hey, don't be like that! I won't deny it was unexpected and how you handle Crow... But I was really worried about you too. I'm just glad you're back with us. It wouldn't be the same without you too."
I look at Alisa shocked then smiled. "Thank you Alisa... I'm sure you are wondering what I am. When all of us are back together again, I'll tell you everything about me. That's a promise. I'm honestly so relieved to hear that. Thanks for believing in both me and Rean."
"Yeah, I'm so relived that you're back with us." Alisa sigh of relief. "Thank you Rean, thank you Levi, thank you both for coming back to us."
"And us too." I said as I sounded so emotional now.
"Haha. Always good to see young people living up their youth." Gwyn said. "I'm surprised you've got no problems with sharing a passionate embrace like that in front of your old grandpa. Not that I mind of course."
Alisa gasped. "I-it was just...I just got all emotional seeing him again and...don't go reading anything into it, okay?!"
"Sounding mighty suspicious to me."
"Okay, it's Millium time!" Millium leaped to Rean and he caught her.
"WHOA! hold up!" Rean exclaimed.
"Oh, I've missed you soooo much, Rean. Wasn't expecting you to be hanging out with Claire though."
"Well, suffice it to say, a lot's happened." Claire replied.
"I wasn't expecting you to be with Alisa and Gaius either, to be honest." Rean added. "I would've thought you returned to the intelligence division."
"Oh, Rean. That's adorable." Millium said. "You should know me by now. I'm as much a part of Class VII as the rest of you." She then got off him and turned to face me. "And it's soooo good to see you too, Levi."
"Yeah...it's been a while, Millium." I replied. "I'm sorry for what happened when I was consumed by rage at Trista. I'm okay now. I'm so glad you're still you."
Millium then hugged me close and I hugged back.
"Well dun, I'm me!"
"That you are Millium. That you are. Glad to see you're still with us. It wouldn't be the same without you."
"Yeah." Rean nodded. "I hope we can keep count on you."
Millium giggled. "Yep! Always and forever!"
"It's nice seeing us all together like this." Fie said.
"And hopefully, we can find the rest of us soon, too." Gaius added.
Claire smiled. "I'm so happy for you all."
"Allow me to express my gladness to you as well." Gwyn added. "I'm sure you must have a lot of catching up to do, but I think we should return to the lake for now. I managed to get a look at how things are in the watchtower."
"Oh, right. Lacan did say that you'd gone to investigate something." I said as we then saw the watchtower in the distance and it looked rebuilt. "Well, it seems to have been repaired, but..."
"Are you suggesting it have something to do with the orbal communication problems in the region?" Rean asked.
"It certainly does." Alisa answered.
"It's got this really annoying thingy on it you see." Millium added.
"Let's talk about it elsewhere. Before we get spotted or something else happen." I suggest
We agreed to talk about it later, Gwyn got in his truck and drove off whilst the rest of us got on the horses. Fie sat behind Gaius, Millium sat behind Claire, Alisa sat behind Rean and I remained riding solo.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Strain)
We were back at Lake Lacrima and inside Gwyn's cabin where we resumed with our discussion about the highlands and the watchtower.
"So what have you found out?" I asked
"Well the Noble Alliance has an Orbal Wave jammer in the watch tower." Gwyn answered.
"An orbal wave jammer?" Rean asked.
"That's right. There's one set up at the very top of the watchtower. A pretty big one, too."
"I had no idea." Gaius said.
"Orbal wave jammer, that explains it." I pouted. "They're very annoying. But it's a perfect way to disable the signals communications for your enemies."
"Good grief." Celine sighed. "So that explains it."
"It's likely designed to intermittently release orbal waves of its own to disrupt communications." Gwyn replied
"Huh, I think the Intelligence Division has something like that, actually." Millium said.
"The RMP does as well, and we do use them from time to time in our operations." Claire added. "But I can say with confidence that I've never seen one power enough to cover an area as vast as the highlands."
"Those sneaky bastards..." I sighed. "This proves the entire Noble Alliance are scum… using such cheap trick… Still, I think we can assume that the Noble Alliance have some way to contact each other while we can't in some way."
"The 3rd Armored Division is doing their best to even the odds however they can." Rean said. "But it's getting more and more difficult to hold their ground."
"As long as that device remains active, I can't see the situation improving for them, either." Alisa added. "We've been trying to see if we can find a way to turn things around, but so far, no such luck."
"I'm sure Lammy'd be able to bust it up no trouble if we got close enough to it." Millium said. "But with the way they're watching the skies, it's not like we could just fly up to it and go to town or anything."
"No matter the reason, the situation on the highlands at present is perilous." Lucan hummed. "We've managed to escape harm so far by fleeing here, but there's no guarantee that will always be the case. Personally, I think it's time we started preparing to leave the highlands behind and move elsewhere."
"Being forced out of their home because of this war..." I muttered. "I despise it... They will surely pay for this. Ignoring all of this is definitely out of the question." I turned to Rean. "It's up to you, Mr. Leader."
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Warm Supper)
"This war was started by the Empire, and the responsibility for dragging Nord's people into it is Erebonia's alone." Rean said. "Why should you have to abandon your homeland because of something you have nothing to do with? That can't be right."
"Well, I agree, but..." Alisa wanted to say more, but she couldn't.
"It pains me to leave as well, but I don't see what other choice we have." Gaius said. "You saw the dangers we face if we stay. Jaegers hiding near our settlement, bloody battles cropping up every day. The most important thing is keeping our families safe. Id we have to lose our home to do that, so be it."
"And you're really okay with that?" Rean asked.
"If I recall, you said to us how much you love and wanna protect this land." I added. "It's the same with me. I love Nord. I was raised in Nord… in some ways. Nord is practically my homeland too. The beauty of this wonderful land should not be involve in war. Those bastards of the alliances are bringing war into this peaceful land. We cannot forgive them for that. Even though Nord has strong ties to Erebonia. We can't allow this land to be a battlefield. So why would you go back on your promise by saying that?"
Gaius looked at me and now he wasn't so sure.
"He's right. There's still a way to make it so that you can stay here and keep everyone safe." Rean nodded. "So why not give this a shot before we give up completely?"
Gaius blinked. "You couldn't mean stopping the jammer ourselves?"
"Oh I think Rean could...and we would." I said, smiling.. "We should know by now that when Rean has his heart set on helping others in any possible way, he won't take no for an answer."
"That's true." Fie nodded.
"The Noble Alliance is focusing all its energy into fighting the 3rd Armored Division. So if a third party like us shows up out of nowhere..." Rean said
"Then we can infiltrate the watchtower and take out the jammer from behind." I finished. "It's an ideal off-guard tactic."
"Are you sure you want to go through with that?" Claire asked. "Whether you intend to or not, you'll be fighting against the Noble Alliance."
"Well, you could say we're more like an independent group. We're doing what is right and besides, we're only going to help the Imperial Army...indirectly."
"An indirect assist is the best way of putting it." Rean agreed. "We can't stand back and allow the people of Nord to be threatened like that."
"Yeah, I agree." Alisa nodded. "The people here have done so much for us."
"Yeah, it's only fair that we help out, right?" Millium asked.
Fie nodded. "Yup."
"Then it looks like we gotta get ready and give it all we've got." I smirked.
Claire giggled. "If you've made up your minds, then that all I have to say."
"Thank you, all of you." Gaius smiled. "Count me in. To hear you guys say that you want to protect this land as if it were your own means more than words could ever say."
"I'd grumble about how you can't help but poke your noses into trouble every single time you find it." Celine said. "But I've just accepted that's what you do at this point."
"Haha. That's good to hear." Rean nodded.
"I'd grumble about how you can't help but poke your noses into trouble every single time you find it." Celine sighed.
"Oh, Celine. You can be so negative." I sighed.
"Whatever, regardless, I've just accepted that's what you do at this point."
Gwyn chuckled. "Ah, to be young again."
"Indeed." Lucan nodded. "Seeing all of you fired up reminds me just how important it is to fight to protect things that matter most to you. Leave contacting the lieutenant general to me and Gwyn. And we'll leave this matter entirely in your capable hands. May the winds and the Goddess guide your path."
"Thank you, we won't let you down." Gaius said.
"Right on." I stood up. "Let's go, everyone!"
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Nomadic Settlement)
We left the cabin and had a moment to double check ourselves.
"Well, then, we should get started immediately. Claire said. "We can't act without finding a way into the watchtower, after all."
"Yeah." Rean nodded. "We can't exactly barge our way in through the front door considering who we're up against."
"Yep. With those Soldats on guard, I doubt we'd even make it that far." Millium nodded. "We're gonna need to find a way to get into the place without them noticing us."
"Hmm... ARE there any routes that would get us there without passing them?" Alisa hummed
I thought for a moment then it click. "Oh! I just remember! There is."
"Did you think of something?" Fie asked.
"Yep! It's one of the area we investigated during our field study!"
"Oh, I know what you're talking about!" Alisa replied. "Remember the area where those orbal mortars that attacked the watchtower were set up?"
"Oh! That's right!" Rean said. "You can't see that area from the watchtower. I doubt the alliance is aware of what happened then, either, so it wouldn't be on their radar. That's the perfect spot to sneak in, you two. Good call."
"It sounds like our best choice." Gaius nodded. "We should travel there on horseback as soon as we're prepared."
"Yeah, we'll be ready to become the gale of the highland to blow away the unwanted smell of the alliance."
"'Gale of the highland?' 'Unwanted smell of the alliance?' Really?" Celine asked.
I frown "Oh, come on. I was trying to raise morale."
Millium giggled. "It's so cool you're back with us, Levi."
"Still… become the gale of the highland. I like that." Gaius chuckled.
"Oh, and maybe we should drop by and talk to the elder before we leave." Alisa suggested. "He might have something else he could use our help with. Life seems to be tough for everyone here these days."
"Okie dokie." Millium said. "They've all been really, really nice, so we should return the favor!"
"Fair enough." Rean nodded. "We can drop by there before leaving, then."
Gaius smiled. "I appreciate it."
And with that, we walked over to Elder Ivan's home to see if there was anything we could do for them.
"Hello, Elder." I greeted.
"Hmm? Oh, welcome ladies and gentleman. What brings you to our home?" Ivan asked.
"We're wondering if there is anything we could do to help you people out."
The elder seemed surprised. "Hmm? I was under the impression that you had somewhere you needed to go. At least that was what Lacan told me. He said that you and your classmates had 'something that only you can do'."
"Sure, but we can help you out, too!" Millium said. "Multitasking ain't nothin' for the likes of Class VII."
"Yeah, it's kind of our thing. Always has been." Rean added.
"We really do appreciate all you've done for us during our stay." Alisa smiled. "If anything, we're the ones who should be trying to return the favor. Actually, IS there something we can help out with?
Ivan smiled. " Haha. Perhaps so. You seem to have a good understanding of your own limits. Well, if you would, allow me to take you up on your kindness. These are the tasks I have that I would appreciate some help on." He handed us a list of tasks.
"Defeat the Military Monsters those jaegers unleash and look for a lost foal? Sounds right up our alley." I said. "Also, since we're going to do these, we'll have to do them right away before we think of heading to the watchtower."
Millium nodded. "Tally-ho!"
We left the elder's home and we got on the horses, ready to do the tasks.
"You know, I just had an idea." Rean said. "Why don't you lead the way for a while, Levi?"
"Huh? You're saying we swap positions?" I blink
"It could be good for you." Gaius said. "After all, you said you wanna make it up for what happened last month, this could be a good chance for you."
"Yeah, think of it as a good exercise for you. Rean needs a break being the leader after all." Alisa added.
"Yep. Plus I want to know how it feels being a team member while you lead." Rean chuckled.
How kind of you. Still, I begin to think for a moment… This will be my first time being a leader. This would be good experience. Eh, why not.
"Alright, I'll lead the charge until we reach the watchtower later. First things first, let's find that foal." I said "The sad part is we don't know where the foal is."
"Oh! Hold on a minute." Alisa said.
"What's up, Alisa?"
"I'd forgotten all about it, but when we went out with Grandfather earlier, I saw a horse. It was about the time we reached the northeastern area of the highland. It was so small, I thought it was just my imagination, but if it wasn't..."
"Then it seems we found our foal. We're going to take a left and go straight till we're at the northeast area where we fought that cryptid."
"Sounds good, let's go." Rean agreed.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Wintery Arrival)
I led the way as we traveled across the top part of the north area of the highlands and over to the northeast area. We traveled on our horses and kept an eye out for the foal. We then saw it as it was grazing on the grass.
"Look over there." Rean said.
"That's the foal we're looking for, all right." Gaius added.
"If I may." I said and then I dismount. I approach the foal and it notice me. I bend down. "Hey there friend. Nice to meet you."
"Ahh… so what's he up too?" I hear Millium asked. "He's talking to the baby horse right?"
"Oh, that's right. Levi has a way with animals remember?" Gaius answered
"Oh yeah. Levi said he was surrounded by animals back when he was young." Rean nodded
"Really? Never Knew that." Claire said.
While I hear my friends talking about my way with animals as I was talking to the foal. The little Foal approach me and then I begin to pet it and look happy.
"Oh wow!" Millium exclaimed. "It's like he can talk to animals!"
"Hehe. Levi has a gift." Gaius nodded as he is proud of me.
"So what brings you out here?" I asked the baby horse as it snort at me. "Hmm? You are looking for your mother? Hmm... I don't know where your mother is but I know someone who can help with that. Gaius. The little one is looking for his mother. He's wondering around because he misses his mother sense."
"Ah, I see. So that's it. Two of the horses we came here riding are closely related to him. I'll bring them over and see if they can convince him to come with us."
Gaius dismount from his horse and then ask Rean and Alisa to dismount the horses they borrowed since they're related to the baby horse. They nodded and then brought the two horses to the baby horse and then we pet it and comfort the horse. However, I notice the wind is blowing my hair and I turn and then feel like it's guiding me to where we face the Cryptid.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Nomadic Settlement)
Soon we bring it back to Settlement. And we guided the baby horse to Sheeda.
"And that's one task complete." Gaius said. "I have to say, Levi. You really surprise me. For you to communicate with the foal truly is amazing."
I smiled. "There's no need to praised me. I'm just glad the little one return home."
"You weren't kidding about your way with animals either. And what we saw proves it."
"Hehe. All right. Now for the jaeger military monsters nexts." I said.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Wintery Arrival)
The group nodded and we got on our horses and then ride to the north area. Our second task is slaying the jaegers military monsters roaming around the north area of the highlands. We found one that looked like those armored jaguar we saw with the jaeger soldiers.
"There's one...let's take it down quick!" I ordered.
We worked as a team and eliminated it easily. We traveled around the rest of the area and spotted a second one. We made good use of our crafts and defeated it. We explored the last parts and found a third one, this appeared to be the last one. We went all out with our arts, eliminating it in a short space of time.
"Alright, there should be all of them." I said. "There aren't any more around here."
"Then we should head back to the lake and let the elder know about this." Gaius added.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Nomadic Settlement)
I nodded and we traveled back to the settlement to let Ivan know, he seemed pleased when we told him.
"You were able to defeat the military monsters, were you?" Ivan asked. "That's wonderful news."
"They were putting up a good fight but we pulled through in the end." I replied. "However, I'm more concerned about the situation in the highlands."
"It's scary to think a place that was once so peaceful had those monsters roaming around freely." Rean sighed.
"Those jaegers will surely release more eventually, too." Claire added. "There's no guarantee that next time, they won't inflict more harm upon the settlement."
"Right. This isn't an issue we can ignore." Gaius nodded
"All the more reason why we have to stop them for good." I stated
"I can't deny that all of this is caused by the war raging around us. But we bear no resentment towards our fate. Even if we are forced to leave this land, our way of life will not change." Ivan said. "So while I appreciate your concern, do not be swayed by emotion and lose sight of what matters most."
"I suppose you're right." Alisa sighed.
"Regardless, you have my thanks. Allow me to thank you on behalf of all the settlement as well. Oh, and please, take this." Elder Ivan he held out an accessory. "It's a traditional item here in the settlement that I think will be of use to you."
I took the bracelet from him and put it on my left wrist. "This looks wonderful."
"Hmm... Perhaps I should also give you these as well."
Then he gave us ingredients.
"Thank you. We'll be sure to make good use of them." Rean smiled.
"I'm sure you will. Take care, and may the winds and the Goddess guide your path."
Soon we begin to leave the elder's home and something was on my mind.
"Hey guys." I called out to everyone.
"What is it Levi?" Rean asked
"Back in the northeast area where we fought that Cryptid, something caught my attention. And the wind was definitely telling me to go. Would you mind if we check it out?"
"Sure. You're the leader so let's go."
"All right. Let's go."
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Wintery Arrival)
We got back onto the horses and gallop all the way to where we fought that Crypid. There we enter through the hole of the cave
"Huh? Where's this place go?" Millium asked.
"Doesn't LOOK like a cave, at least." Alisa said.
"How...?" Gaius wondered and look confused. Does he not know here.
We carried onwards on the narrow hill bridge and found a ruin building.
"Huh? A Spirit Shrine? Here in Nord?" Reana sked in surprised.
"Whoa. I can see why the wind guided me here." I blink.
"I'm amazed Levi..." Gaius replied. "I've never seen it before, nor have I ever heard anyone talk about it."
"Maybe it's just like before back in Garrelia Byroad. We should investigate."
We got off the horses and we stepped inside.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Spirit Cavern)
The interior was well lit and there was a breeze travelling around.
"Seriously, where are we?" Alisa asked.
"This place is soooo weird." Millium added.
Celine hummed. "Well, if you're gonna walk around, try not to get yourselves killed."
"Thanks for the advice Celine." I sighed.
We walked down several stairs and then through a door then walk the hall.
"This feeling... Could this be the Aira Shrine?" I asked
"The Aria Shrine?" Rean asked
"Yeah. I can sense Wind element here. As well as the higher elements. We should be careful."
As we arrived at the end of the hall. We across a somewhat maze-looking dungeon. Like all dungeon, we explore it as few monsters roaming around. We took care as we made our way through the hallways, slaying monsters and pulling levers so the our way would be clear. We then reached a big room at the end and a bigger door, but a few monsters suddenly appeared. They look the same monsters from the previous Shrine.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Tie a Link of ARCUS)
"They look like the same as the last shrine!" Rean said as we got our weapons.
"I get the feeling we will be doing the same thing when we encounter more Shrines." I sighed. "Let's do this!"
Me and Rean begin to link up. Claire link up with Millium. Alisa and Gaius link up. Then we begin the batter. The Monsters were shooting lasers from their eyes as we experience this before. Soon we begin to slash and strike all over the three monsters. They soon begin to unleash a dark wave attack onto us and some of us took damage. Soon Millium use her S craft on them and then Fie follow up with her own S craft onto them. Then I being to head to the side of the monsters and use Piercing Throw and strike at them.
"Let's go for it everyone!" I shout for an all out attack.
We launched an all-out attack on the monsters. Rean then begin to use his S craft onto them follow up by Alisa's S craft and then the Monster explode into purple lights.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Spirit Cavern)
"They certainly were a tough one aren't they?" I asked as I wipe my forehead.
"At least we won." Fie replied.
"But what were they, though?" Gaius wondered. "They put up quite a fight."
"They might be guardians or something." I shrug. "Because they were guarding that door."
We went over to the big door, It is the same back at the Terra Shrine.
Alisa sighed. "Well, this is about as far as we can go. This door doesn't seem to want to open, either. We might as well leave it."
"Agreed." Gaius nodded.
"We have plenty on our plate to take care of even without what's on the other side of this." Millium added.
"Well, then, let's get going." Claire nodded.
As we were going to leave. Suddenly, I felt something. Then a vision appeared. But this one is new… The same man talking to a different man about and then leaving home. And the answer will remain the same. It was over.
'Rean.' I whisper to him. 'Did you see that?'
'Yeah. It was another vision' Rean nodded as he whisper. 'It felt more like I was watching someone's... memory?'
'Yeah... you're right.' We turn around to the door. 'But we can talk about that later. Let's go.'
We saw that vision again. But… why just us? We then left the ruined building.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Wintery Arrival)
Our tasks were done, now it was time to resume with our main objective. We got the horse and rode across the north area, past the old settlement and then entered the south area of the highlands. We then travel over to where we found the rope ladder during our field study months ago.
"That plateau was around here, right?" Rean asked.
"Yeah. We ended up climbing, hmm...somewhere around there." Alisa answered.
"Well, we're here...but there's no sign of the rope ladder this time." I said. "So how are we gonna get up there?"
We soon arrived at the location where we found it. We dismount and then look further and up.
"This was the area where those mortars were, wasn't it? Right up on top of that cliff?" Alisa asked.
"Huh. Does seem like a good hiding spot." Fie nodded
"But the main question is how do we get up there?" I asked
"I've got you covered." Gaius responded. "I brought a rope ladder from the settlement for us to use."
"Good thinking."
"Mind if you set it up for us, Millium?" Rean asked.
"Sure thing!" Millium answered as she brought out Lammy and set up the rope ladder. "There you go, all done."
"Great. Thanks, Millium."
"No problemo!"
"Is this thing sturdy enough for all of us to climb?" Celine asked.
"I'd say so." Claire answered. "We should double-check we have everything we need before climbing up, however."
"That, and one person should climb at a time." I add "Allow me to head up first, gotta respect everyone and lead the way after all."
I climbed up first and reached the top, standing close to Millium whilst waiting for everyone else to get up. We then walked up to the top area, those mortars are gone.
"This is the spot." Celine said.
"You can see the tower's rooftop over there." Rean look at the tower.
"Yep. But they shouldn't be able to see us from here." Fie replied.
"And somewhere on that rooftop must be the jamming device that we're looking for." Claire added.
"If we follow this cliff, we should be able to reach the area behind the tower." Gaius nodded "Ready to go, guys?"
"I know I am." I answered "It's time to return these highlands to being the peaceful place they're meant to be!"
"Right!" Alisa replied.
"Let's go go go!" Millium exclaimed.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Preparing for War)
We sneaked around the cliff and then jumped off the to the ground near the entrance to the watchtower, we crouched down when we saw a ship leave the area. Fie and Claire were more brave to sneak behind a corner and they let us know that it was safe to move up.
"All right everyone. Our mission's to infiltrate the watchtower and disable the orbal wave jammer. Stay alert at all times!" I command
"Right!" The group nodded
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Blitzkrieg)
When we regrouped, we got our weapons out and made a run for it to the entrance and inside the watchtower.
"And look what we here." I said as we spotted three guards.
"Oopsie. That didn't take long." Millium added.
"We'll force our way through!" Gaius said
"Yep, we can't allow them to raise the alarm." I added. "Let's take them out!"
We got into battle and although the guards put up a fight, they were still weak, so the battle didn't take long.
"D-damn kids..." One of them grunted before they passed out.
"I'd say this counts as 'knocked out.'" Alisa comment
"They were pretty tough, but the rest of this place should be no sweat if everyone here's like that." Millium said.
"Let's hope so, I can sense plenty of others inside." Rean added. "Let's try to get to the rooftop before they know we're here."
"My thoughts exactly!" Gaius nodded
My group begin to turn to the left hall. Before I can follow them.
'Hamsuke. Luka. You know what to do.' I telepathy them.
'Kill them. Of course.' Both familiar replied exit my shadow as I follow my classmates and my familiars and begin to tear the Provincial solders to shred before my classmates appeared to return. I know they're following orders. But they don't deserve mercy after all the terrible things they've done.
We took a left and rushed up the stairs, going around the tower interior and then up another flight of stairs.
"Halt."
Then approached us was Nodhoggr. Of course they're here.
"Nidhoggr!" Fie exclaimed.
"So we meet again." Claire added.
"Well, if it isn't the brats from the settlement." The jeager responded. "You're either very brave or very foolish to try forcing your way in here."
"My money's on the latter. And it's time you paid the price for that foolishness."
"Aww, look at you talking all big." I smiled as I taught them. "I think it's time for you to receive the penalty for getting in our way."
"Those who threaten the peace of my homeland will receive no mercy!" Gaius said.
"Heh. Bring it on!"
"Show us what you've got!"
The battle started. I used Wave of Aquarious as Alisa use her fire arrow craft and Rean and Gaius use their projections and Millium with her Combat shell ball form. We pushed back the Jaegers with ease and a powerful combination as well. The space is small for us to fight but we charge and strike at them and we easily killed the monsters. Our combat links to overwhelm them with power before we overcame their numbers and defeated them, the armored jaguars were gone and the soldiers were knocked out.
"I-I think we misjudged them..."
As I approached them. I bend down forward them with a smile.
"Sweet dreams~" I smiled.
And then they were unconscious.
"Glad that's done." Alisa sighed.
"Yeah, piece of cake." Millium added.
"Our path is clear!" Gaius nodded
Rean hummed. "They may not be the last, stay sharp!"
As my classmates and I head forward. I was planning on killing them but they were paid to fight under the alliance. So I'll let them live. We resumed making our way around the floor path and then up another set of stairs and going upwards to another floor path. But as soon we were closer. More jaeger solders appeared, but there were more behind us. They caught us in a pincer tactic. We ended up taking some strong hits but we were able to break through their pincer attacks as I use Vortex Plunger and everyone else use their strongest and wide crafts to defeat them. That was the last of them. And the rooftop is dead ahead.
We took a deep breath and relaxed for a moment before we carried onwards to the final stairs before we reached a door. We opened it and found ourselves outside. We didn't have that far to go now, just a little bit more. We turned a corner and then ran up the stairs, we had now reached the top and in the left corner was the orbal wave jammer we were looking for.
"There it is!" Rean called out.
"We finally made it here!" Gaius nodded
We got closer to examine it. It's a lot bigger it seems.
"So this is the Orbal wave jammer that caused a lot of trouble." I said. "It certainly a big one, isn't it?"
"So how are we gonna stop it?" Millium asked. "If you want Lammy to bust it up, just say the word."
Alisa sighed. "Must breaking things be your solution to everything? I think we'd best take a good look inside it and see if it can be disabled. There should be a maintenance panel somewhere on the outside."
"We should probably leave that to you, Alisa." Gaius replied.
"One thing's for sure, we need to put a stop to it before reinforcements arrive." Rean said.
Then I sense a presence. "Ugh… unfortunately, it seems someone is here."
"And right you are my dear young man. I sincerely regret to inform you that won't be possible." A voice intervened.
"I recognize that obnoxious voice." I muttered.
"Yeah. It's gotta be him." Fie nodded
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Law of the Battlefield)
We looked up at the top of the Orbal Wave Jammer and see a magic circle with rose petals swirling a wind? and heard a laugh to see a familiar well-dressed man with an eye mask on.
"Yep. I knew it. The very same thief we met in Heimdallr." I sweatdrop "Phantom Thief B... or perhaps I should call you Bleublanc."
"So you've finally revealed yourself." Claire said. "I take it you're here as one of Ouroboros's Enforcers?"
"Hehe. It's a pleasure to meet you, Icy Maiden." Bleublanc replied. "I'm flattered a woman as stunning as you is so remarkably well informed of yours truly." And he flip his hair. "Good day to you all, fair students of Class VII. I need no introduction I'm sure, but if I may kindly refresh your memories. I am Bleublanc, Enforcer no. X of Ouroboros, also known as the Phantom Thief. I've been longing to meet you all again during these months we've been apart. Our meeting in Ymir was lovely, but lamentably far too brief."
"Ugh…" Alisa muttered
"Ugh. Don't remind me." I muttered. "I have been meaning to pay you back for that little ice monster trick back in Ymir. And even invade Rean's privacy like that too."
"Haha! Your wit has grown in the last few months. But if I may change the subject, you were the beautiful angel who wields unfathomable and beautifully golden power of light and even wields incredible magic!"
"Not surprised to hear you know about it, I bet Vita was the one who told you, didn't she?"
He said nothing.
"I thought so."
"What are you doing here, anyway? If you're planning on getting in our way, we're not backing down without a fight!" Rean said.
"Hehe, please there is no need to be so aggressive." Blueblanc replied. "I live for the pursuit of beauty. And so it was that I came to this distant land today. Obstructing you is but a secondary objective And how could I not be allured by someone like you, Levi Sullivan."
"Ugh... How creepy." I sweatdrop. "That explains the chills I got from your last statement back in Heimdallr and in Ymir..."
"Beauty?" Celine asked
"What are you implying?" Gaius asked
"How could you not understand? Look around you. This land is rife with the exquisite scent of nature, as well as home to an abundance of life… but once the flames of war sweep these highlands, all of what we see will be lost in mere moments. And the one thing that could make it all the more breathtaking is the moment where it is robbed of its own beauty. What other reason would one such as myself has to come here other than to witness such a dazzling demise?" Bleublanc smirked
"You son of a…" Gaius glared.
"You really ARE messed up in the head…" Alisa muttered
"No. I think it is more fitting to say twisted. Like hell I'll let that happen!" I growled. "And here is what I'm going to do. I'm going to protect this beautiful land, starting by thrashing you!" Then gleam my eyes to the right next to him. "And that includes your partner."
"Haha, your senses once again hit the nail on the mark. It seems my ideal partner can no longer hide from you..." Bleublanc smirked
"Lord Bleublanc, that should be enough playing around." A voice intervened.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Altina)
And then appeared from hiding was that girl who tried to kidnapped Alfin and Elise.
"Her!" Rean exclaimed
"What's with that doll?" Claire asked.
"The Ashen Awakener and his supporters have been sighted." The girl said. "While currently doing so is not outlined as part of our objective, I think it may be best to capture them while we have the chance.
"Why, I couldn't agree more!" Bleublanc added. "And yet there are times when the prologue to a battle is sweeter than the finest of wines. Simply carrying out orders without taking the time to enjoy the opportunities they present seems rather a shame, don't you think?"
"I think not."
"Who is she?" Gaius asked
"She was the one who tried to kidnapped Elise and Princess Alfin. She was acting on orders from Vita, If it hadn't been for Levi. They would have been long gone." Rean answered
"A little thing like her tried to do all that?" Alisa asked. "And that doll looks just like Airgetlam, doesn't it?"
"Tell us. Just who are you? Are you with the society?!"
"The society?" She asked. " I presume you are referring to Ouroboros. Negative. I do not belong to that organization."
"It's as she says." Bleublance nodded. "Sadly, she is not among out numbers. I wouldn't go so far as to deny that she has any relation to us at all. But for the present, think of her as a delightful little someone cooperating with the Noble Alliance, much like ourselves."
"Like Zephyr..." Fie muttered "And like Crow, too."
"We don't have time to waste with idle chatter." The girl answered. "I believe this discussion has gone on for long enough."
Her black doll floated outwards the rooftop ground and the girl got off, she was now several feet away from us.
"My name is Altina Orion. My code name is Black Rabbit, and this is Claiomh Solais."
The black doll behind him made a noise that was similar to Lammy.
"Orion?" I ask before it clicked. "Wait, isn't that Millium's surname?"
Millium hummed.
"Commending apprehension of targets." Altina said.
We drew our weapons out.
"Yeah, that's not gonna happen." I replied. "Although you are cute, I won't go easy on you!"
Millium giggled before she brought out Lammy. "C'mon, Lammy! I say we give her what she wants."
Bleublanc leaped onto the rooftop ground. "Haha! How wonderful! A contest of strength between black and white!"
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Severe Blow)
Bleublanc drew out a staff. "Ready yourselves, Class VII! When last we met, you tasted of bitter, unripened fruit. Allow me to feel a sample how much you've matured since! And witness your power, if you can, Sullivan."
"You're focusing too much on me, when you should be paying attention to the rest of us." I replied. "But whatever, if you seek a sneak peak of the light, then complain that I make you blind!"
"Here he comes!" Rean stated
"Oh, wind that blows across the highlands, grant us strength!" Gaius said.
The battle started and I got the first strike on Bleublanc whilst Millium and Altina were having their own confrontation. Rean and I link up while Alisa and Fie link up and Millium and Claire Link up. Then me, Rean, and Claire buff the team, and then we charge into the battle. Bleublanc summon minions into the battle as Altina shield herself with her combat shell and then me and Rean slash both of them but they dodge as Altina laser beam us but then me and Rean Leap to dodge and then Alisa fire at Bleublanc who he vanished and then I use Vortex Plunger on both of them which surprise them and double damage them. Everyone else follow up with the slashes and attacks. Altina swirled as her combat shell swirled and launched a slashing attack as Bleublanc use his crafts and launched needle attacks onto us and then cast Arts onto us too. We took damage and then Rean use his Gale on them and then Millium and Altina combat shells fight with each other along while the minions shoot bullets but was kill by Claire with her craft. And then Gaius send protection of the wind to damage the minions as well. And then I cast Arts Shining unto me, Rean and Fie and then Fie shoot bullets at our two foes who evade the attack and then Rean use Gale and I use wave of Aquarius and then slam both of them.
"Ah, the beauty of water!" Bleublanc smirked.
Then he use his craft at us and then I dodge in time and then Altina laser us and I took damage. Then Bleublanc summon minions again.
"Forming barrier." Altina summon a barrier again and then she laser commanded her Combat shell to strike at us with powerful blows. Alisa fire her craft arrows and then heals the party. And then Claire fire bullets at the two foes as Gaius let out some jab attack along with Fie slashes. And then me and Rean zoom together and then combined our slashes together. Then I use my S craft Aries Storm on both of them along with the minions and took immense damage and then Rean finish it off with his S craft. Ending the battle. That battle took us some effort but I'm still standing with my breath for now.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Altina)
"Damn... they're strong!" Rean muttered as Alisa panted.
"Hah...hah...For a man who pursuits beauty, you're slippery and yet hit hard…" I said before looking at Altina. "And you're one tough rabbit as well."
"Hehe...marvelous. Your taste was so much sweeter than I was expecting." Bleublanc said. "Although I was hoping to get a taste of your magic. It looks as though they don't intend to be taken down without a fight, my lady."
"Raising threat level appropriately." Altina responded. "The white doll fought more ably than the specifications, I was informed of, suggested as well."
Millium smiled. " Hehe. Really? Still, you're connected, too, aren't you?"
"Now then Altina. Allow me to ask you a question. IF you were able to capture Princess Alfin and Elise. Where do you intend to take them?"
Altine said nothing. Just before I was going to asked again. "I would delivered them to Lord Rufus Albarea."
"Rufus?! He's involved with the Noble Alliance?!"
"Isn't that Jusis's brother?" Celine asked.
"So Crow's not the only traitor, huh? Why would he be involved in all of this?"
"He's been making quite the name for himself as the Noble Alliance's Chief Of Staff." Bleublanc answered. "It was largely thanks to this skill that the Imperial Army's armored divisions have become split throughout the country. His sharp mind for politics has played no small part, either."
"Why would he do that?" Alisa asked.
I sighed. "I'm disappointed in him actually."
"Regardless, you two seem to know the answers to many questions we've had regarding matters within the alliance. And we plan on having you answer each and every one of them once we've seen our operation through."
"I don't understand." Altina titled her head.
"You seriously done?" I sweatdrop.
"Heheh. How very pitiful. They don't seem to realize that we still hold the upper hand." Bleublanc then stood up
"What are you-" And he cast a skill as I sense it "Look out!" I quickly jump out of the way in time but too late for my friends.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Law of the Battlefield)
"I can't move...!" Fie growled
"What the heck did you just do?!" I exclaimed.
"Is this...shadow weaving?" Rean asked.
"Indeed, it is one of my many skills." Bleublanc answered. "Although I am surprised you were able to avoid them in the nick of time, unlike your comrade in arms. But now your friends are now caged birds, powerless to fight back."
"Ngn... How could we have known he could do this!?" Alisa exclaimed
"How could I have been so careless?" Claire muttered
"I swear my master teaching and training save the day again..." I sighed "Still, my senses and my body reacted on their own in a sense of danger. And since this is weaving… All I have to do is pluck out the needles and give you a light show you wanted."
"Haha! How interesting to say, Levi Sullivan." Bleublanc smirked "Very well. If you can prove you can grant me a Light show, then by all means. Please your audience!"
Wait… I sense another presence coming closer… and over? Wait… at the building?
"Levi, don't! This isn't over yet!" Rean exclaimed before an aura glowed around him.
"Wait, you're gonna force that to come out?" I asked.
"That won't be necessary." A familiar voice intervened.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - To become the Foundation of the World)
Suddenly, the needles around them were removed by wires.
"Aaah! Whoawhoawhoa!" Millium exclaimed
"Were those wires?" Alisa asked
We looked up at the top of the tower to see a familiar maid.
"Sharon?" Rean asked.
"How in the world...is that really you, Sharon?!" Alisa exclaimed
She leaped to the ground and bowed to us. "But of course, I've come to collect you my lady." Sharon answered. "And I'm relieved to see so many of your classmates are in good health."
"How in the world did you find us?" I asked because I am literally surprised by Sharon. But then I heard Bleublanc laugh.
"Heheh… Hahaha… HAHAHAHAHA!" Bleublance laughed.
"What's with the laugh, you crazy thief?" I pouted
"Now here's a face I wasn't expecting to bump into on foreign soil." Bleublanc said. "This, too, must be the will of the Goddess...nay, perhaps it would be more fitting to think it was the guidance of our Grandmaster? It's been some time, enforcer No. IX!"
"Wait… Enforcer… no way… You're an Enforcer?!"
"Heehee, I'm afraid it's neither." Sharon replied. "I am a loyal servant of the Reinford family. What more reason do I need to come to Lady Alisa's aid?"
"Thank you, Sharon." Alisa responded, smiling.
"Ahaha. She's still the super maid as always." Millium giggled
"She couldn't have appeared at a better time." Claire sighed of relief
"Yep. Alisa and her mother has one scary and talented maid by their side." I nervous laugh
"Ahhh… So your love and devotion is for the Reinford family now? What of your love for the Grandmaster?" Bleublanc asked
"All I'm doing is prioritizing the Reinford family over my duties as a member of Ouroboros. Nothing more, nothing less." Sharon answered
"Haha. I see. I take it you've no intention of following the same path as Joshua and Renne?"
"Heh. That path was closed to me long ago. Still, if you intend to harm those I love in your pursuit of beauty…" Then Sharon spin around with an Intimidating presence and scary smile at Bleublanc with Steel Wires and a sword. Then I'll show not the slightest mercy in severing your ambitions."
"Well… that actually felt a shiver down my spine…" I gulp with sweat on my cheek. Literally.
"Hahaha. I couldn't be more pleased to hear as much from the Severing Chains! Very well! Then I shall respond in with all that I-"
"What are you all doing down there?!" A voice intervened.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Majasty)
We saw an alliance airship show up, then a few soldats appeared from the entrance.
"So you think that you can inflitrate our watchtower and get away with it, do you?! Stay right where you are! You're under arrest!"
"Ha! Like hell we are you Alliance scum! 'Our Watchtower'? Sure if you count yourselves as thieves!" I taught them with a smirked.
"Watch your tongue little brat!"
"Go shut up yourself!"
"You can insult them later, Levi." Fie replied.
"This isn't good... We're completely surrounded." Claire muttered
"We were so close to disabling that jammer, too!" Alisa added
"No, don't lose hope. We can still pull through." I replied. "Rean."
"Yeah." Rean nodded as he begin to call Valimar.
"Are you calling Valimar?" Alisa asked.
"Yep. And he's fully charge." I answered.
"Heed my call... Valiamr, the Ashen Knight!" Rean raise up his hand and shout for Valimar.
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Transcend Beat)
In a few seconds, he arrived and he was floating.
"We'll take care of that airship and the Soldats! I'll leave everything to you guys!"
"Rean?" Gaius blink.
"You seriously going to jump?" Millium asked
Wait what?!
"S-Stop! That's dange-" Alisa was cut off as Rean and Celine leaped from the rooftop before being teleported inside Valimar.
"He literally jump off the roof?!" I exclaimed.
Valimar landed on the ground, we could only watch as Rean dealt with the Soldats whilst we kept an eye on Bleublanc and Altina.
"Well. Should we watch or resume our fight with you?" I asked to Bleublan and Altina.
"As rather I would enjoy our trill of battle. Let us witness the clash of the Ashen Knight." Bleublance answered
"I doubt we can trust your word."
We begin to resume our battle again Bleublanc and Altina. We clash with them for a few minutes or so. Then we heard the groan of those provincial scum.

When Rean's battle was over, the soldiers got out of the Soldats and retreated on the airship. But before they can get away, I snap my finger as I cast a spell of wind magic and then a tornado appeared and drag their ship and tore it apart including killing alliance soldiers. As an additional punishment for mentioning that bastard and Crow. Then the Tornado vanished
"Levi, was that your doing?" Fie asked.
"Hmm?" I act innocent. "I have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe Aidios is punishing them."
And they sweatdrop.
"Teehee! Master Rean gave a most impressive performance, didn't he? " Sharon cooed.
"I just hope he doesn't make a habit of jumping off of rooftops…" Alisa respond
"You and me both…" I nervous laugh.
"He may be reckless from time to time, but we wouldn't have him any other way." Gaius added
(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - Altina)
"So what will you two do now?" I asked Bleublanc and Altina. "Do you still wish to take us on?"
"I suppose it's time we take our leave." Bleublanc sighed. "Know that I leave with no regrets. I was able to behold the famous Ashen Knight in person, and for that, it was all worthwhile. Do you have any objection, Black Rabbit?"
"Not especially." Altina answered. "Being presented the opportunity to adjust the threat levels of multiple targets at once proved beneficial for me as well." Altina then sat on her black doll as she and Bleublanc jump back. Or in Altina case, floated back. Then Bleublanc teleport technique appeared on both of them.
"Don't move!" Claire point her gun at them. "We have questions, and we know you're the one with the answers!"
"Haha. The curtains have only just risen for the Erebonian stage." Bleublanc smirked. "I wonder, what incredible fate will befall our actors? I cannot wait to see how each of you play your respective roles. Particularly you, Severing Chains."
Sharon giggled. "My part in all this has long been set, but feel free to sit among the audience and watch. There is nothing in this world that could cause my love for the Reinford family to sway."
"Excuse us." Altina requested. "Orion, Airgetlam. May we meet again."
"Ahaha, yeah, totally!" Millium replied, waving. "And see ya, Sammy."
"Please refrain from confusing Claiomh Solais."
"If you would, do pass on my regards to Rean Schwarzer. And now, I bid you all adieu!" Bleublanc added before the two of them teleported away.
We put away our weapons.

"Whew... What was exhausting." Alisa sighed
"At least we were able to make it through unscathed." Gaius said.
"Now that they're gone, we should set about disabling that device." Sharon added. "Once that's done, the highlands should start returning to normality."
"Yeah, you're rig- And just how do you know what we're here for!?"
"Oh, I always know what you're thinking, my lady."
Yep. That's Sharon all right.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Back to the Dorm)
With the coast clear, we shut down the orbal wave jammer and contacted the general to inform him the news. His group of soldiers then occupied the watchtower, bringing it back to their control and thus, peace was restored to the highlands once again. While we were saying goodbye. We learn that Professor Schmidt may be possible the one who made the Soldats and that Orbal Wave jammer. Oh great.
It was time to use the Spirit Path to travel back to Ymir, along with Sharon and the three of our friends we reunited with.
Whew! There we go! And now Sharon has join the team. Next stop is Legram for Jusis, Laura and Emma!
