Chapter 21: Don't Leave
Harry barged into Dumbledore's "Professor, you can't leave."
"Harry, you're….." McGonagall started.
"I knew you and Mister Weasley were under the cloak." Dumbledore said, smirking.
"Hogwarts needs you, sir." Harry said.
"If the governors request my approval then I will be happy to step down. Minerva, you are more than capable of running this school."
"I am going to read the parchment again."
McGonagall took the roll of parchment. She carefully inspected it.
"What about Hermione, sir?"
Dumbledore sighed. "Hermione will be fine, my boy. She will have her brother and mother here. And Severus."
Harry looked down at the ground. Dumbledore placed a hand on Harry's shoulder. Harry looked up at the old man who became a surrogate father to him.
Tears welled up in Harry's eyes. "Please don't go, dad."
Dumbledore smiled. He pulled Harry into a hug. Hugging him tightly.
"Take care of your mother and sister, my son."
With that Dumbledore Apparated. McGonagall broke down crying. Harry went over to comfort her. The poor woman couldn't catch a break. Her daughter was petrified and her husband was sent away.
