Hizashi Yamada vs. the vampire convent
Chapter two: Burdened with glorious purpose
Hizashi and the others watched it as Nezu had just finished setting up everything he needed in order to contact Loki, the norse god of mischief, in order to ask about the deal that was made four-and-a-half years ago. Meanwhile, Luci was off going to track down All For One, in order to bring him in for questioning. All of this stemming from the fact that Kota, Eri, Satsuki, Mahoro, and Katsuma had all been turned into vampires.
Right as Nezu got everything ready, Luci appeared in the area, emerging from a pillar of flames. The devil had a mildly cringing look on his face that made it clear he had some news that he didn't know how to break to everyone. "...Satan?" Nezu said, "What's with the look? And where's All For One?"
"Umm, that's just it," Luci began, "Umm, how do I put this... yeah, All For One is dead."
Everyone was shocked by the news of the death of the Symbol of Evil. "All For One is dead?" Hizashi said, "But we needed to grill him for what he knew about the vampire convent!"
Shrugging, Luci replied, "Nothing I could do. When I found his dead deceased body, All For One had two pinprick like marks on the sides of his neck, also he was so shriveled up his body was basically one giant bony strip of beef jerky." Luci folded his arms over his chest. "My guess is that a vampire we didn't capture is responsible for killing All For One. It's probably the ultimate vampire boss."
"Well it's a good thing that I got everything ready to call Loki and summon him here," Nezu remarked, "We can ask him what he knows and look into finding out how to undo everything." Nezu then began the ritual to call up Loki. This involved dancing around in a circle while chanting in Swedish, cutting his palm slightly and using the blood from that wound to dampen some stones with norse runes on them, then throwing those rune stones into the fire he was dancing around.
After the bloody runes were consumed in the flames, the flames shot up, and out of that new pillar of fire stepped Loki, the norse god of mischief. Surprisingly, he looked like MCU Loki. "Ah, glad that I was able to get you, Loki," Nezu said.
Having heard someone speak up to him, Loki looked down at Nezu. "...Ah, the enlightened stoat," Loki said, "Summoned me up to make another drunken bargain again?"
"Dude!" Hizashi said, cutting Loki off, "You look exactly like MCU Loki!"
Looking over at Hizashi, Loki said, "...Yes, an intentional move on my part. My true form looks more akin to how you humans depicted me in early art. But I took this form because I correctly figured it'd make dealing with you mortals a lot easier fo-"
"Ooh, ooh," Hizashi interrupted again, "Can you say 'I am Loki of Asgard, and I am burdened with glorious purpose'?"
The norse god of mischief looked around at everyone else there. "...Please tell me that he is simply joking," Loki said to the rest of the room.
Dark Shadow simply shook his head. "I'm afraid that Hizashi is being wholly serious."
Loki sighed in a 'better get this over with' kind of tone before he indulged Hizashi. "I am Loki! Of Asgard," Loki said, "And I am burdened with glorious purpose!"
"Yeah!" Hizashi cheered, only to be smacked in the back of the head by Aizawa.
Rolling his eyes, Loki said, "Now, is there a real reason I was called here?"
"It has to do with the bargain that Nezu made with you four-and-a-half years ago," Aizawa began, "As it apparently resulted in vampires." Aizawa then gestured to the cages that the vampire children had been put into, prompting Loki to turn to look at the cages.
Loki arched a wry eyebrow. "...Ah yes, i can't forget the day Nezu had bargained with me for me to grant immortality."
"Principal Nezu bargained with you to grant him immortality?" Kirishima asked, looking surprised.
Loki nodded in confirmation. "Indeed, mortal. Four-and-a-half years ago, Nezu while completely shit-faced and plastered summoned me and tried bargaining with me to grant immortality. I admit that I played along mostly because a talking animal like him had piqued my interest. I told Nezu that if he was able to bring to me my brother's hammer within twenty-four hours of us shaking hands on the bargain, then I would grant immortality."
Tetsutetsu held a hand to his chin. "My late classmate Juzo was a major norse history and mythology buff. He spoke of you a few times, as well as your brother with the hammer. If I recall correctly, Juzo said that your brother's name is Thor, and that Thor's hammer is called Mjölnir."
"You'd know that if you saw the MCU movies, Tetsutetsu," Hizashi said, "Duh!"
"I typically don't watch American movies, Hizashi-sensei," Tetsutetsu defended.
Loki nodded in confirmation. "Indeed, you got both my brother's name and the name of his hammer correct."
"So Nezu, after the two of you agreed on the bargain," Toshinori began, "Had twenty-four hours to bring you your brother Thor's hammer."
"I even brought him to the realm of Asgard and turned him invisible so that he'd be given at least a sporting chance to accomplish the bet," Loki said, "Don't worry, my magics would let me find him in a snap."
Aizawa folded his arms over his chest. "...I'm willing to bet that Nezu failed to accomplish the bet, and you decided to bring about vampires as some form of penalty against Nezu for failing."
Sighing, Loki said in a tone that was equal parts mildly resigned, irritated, and exasperated, "Nezu actually successfully won the bet. In only half the allocated time."
"Nezu won the bet against you?" Muzan asked, "How?"
Rolling his eyes, Loki said, "Because we had made the mistake of wording the bet we agreed upon as vaguely as possible. The exact bet we agreed upon was, and I quote, 'If Nezu can bring Thor's hammer to Loki within twenty-four hours, then Loki would grant immortality'." Sighing again in mild exasperation, Loki explained, "As it turned out, my brother keeps a box of carpentry tools, to help with making repairs and the like. One of the tools in that box is a carpentry hammer."
"...So Nezu went over to Thor's box of tools," Aizawa began, "Took the carpentry hammer from said box of tools, and brought the hammer to you."
"Technically it was 'Thor's hammer', and Nezu did bring it to me within the time allocated by our bet," Loki said, "So yes, Nezu won the bet. He... had also done so while still completely shit-faced and plastered."
Gesturing to Nezu, Dark Shadow said, "So Nezu is now immortal."
At that, Loki gave a bit of a smirk. "...You see, this is where I was able to use our bet's incredibly vague wording to my advantage. Sure Nezu won the bet, meaning I had to grant immortality. But I didn't have to grant the immortality to Nezu."
"But he won the bet," Hizashi pointed out.
Rolling his eyes, Loki said, "The exact wording of the bet was 'If Nezu can bring Thor's hammer to Loki within twenty-four hours, then Loki would grant immortality'. Just as the bet never specified what hammer of Thor's had to be brought to me, the bet also never specified who I had to grant the immortality to, or how I would grant it."
Pointing an accusing finger at Loki, Hound Dog said, "...You were pissy that Nezu won the bet due to an unforseen loophole, so you used a loophole yourself to screw Nezu over by turning a random person in Japan into a vampire."
"Hence the vampire kids in the cages," Cementoss said while gesturing to where the vampire kids were locked up in the cages.
Loki gave the kids some consideration. "...I had turned an adult woman into a vampire. She must of spread the cursed vampiric immortality to those children."
"Is there a way we can turn the children who had been turned into vampires back into humans?" Tanjiro asked.
Nodding once in confirmation, Loki replied, "Indeed, human. Simply slay the woman who I had turned into a vampire, and all currently living vampires who can be ultimately traced back to her will turn back into humans."
"Just like the zombie plague from a while ago," Sekijiro said.
"Indeed," Loki remarked, "I had heard about that."
Gesturing to Loki, Aizawa said, "I assume you remember the woman you had turned into a vampire. Can you tell us who it is?"
Shaking his head, Loki replied in the smoothest and most casual of manners, "Yes I do very well remember the woman I had turned into a vampire, but I will not tell you who she is."
"Why not?!" Hizashi said, nearly snapped.
Scowling a bit, Loki explained, "Because I'm still pissy that Nezu, while drunk off his ass no less, won our little wager by abusing a loophole that I had no idea about or could have been expected to know about."
Folding his arms over his chest, Aizawa said, "Can you at least give us a hint?"
Shrugging, Loki replied, "Fine, Aizawa. You know your nineteen students who had died very recently? The woman I had turned into a vampire is the mother of one of them."
"So the ultimate vampire boss is the mother of one of Sho's students who were killed in trying to contain the zombie apocalypse a while ago," Hizashi said, with Loki nodding in confirmation, "Good to know. At least we don't have to go around blindly killing women in Japan until we get lucky."
Aizawa stared at Hizashi with the driest of looks. "...You were totally going to try doing that if we didn't get any helpful clues on who to look for, weren't you?" As Hizashi was trying to deflect the conversation away from him as if to avoid having to reveal something, Loki took the opportunity to leave. Given that the group got what all info that they needed, there was no harm in Loki taking off like that. At least for the time being.
"So the ultimate boss vampire is the mother of one of my classmates who died recently," Kirishima said, "That gives us a total of nineteen people to check."
Toshinori nodded in the affirmative. "Indeed, Young Kirishima. I shall go check Young Midoriya's mother Inko first."
"You're going alone?" Muzan questioned, "Even though I got it that you lost most of your hero power? What if that woman turns out to be the vampire?"
Stepping forward, Tanjiro said to Toshinori, "At least allow me to go with you, sir. If the woman you're going to see first does turn out to be the ultimate boss vampire, having a Demon Slayer such as myself might at least help out."
Holding up a hand, Inosuke said, "I can drag Muzan's ass with me to go check out the mom of that Bakugo prick that Aizawa told us about."
"Bakugo was not a pr..." Aizawa began, but stopped short as he considered what Inosuke had said. "...Shinso wasn't even involved in the whole zombie apocalypse mess a while ago, so I'll go grab him and go check Todoroki's mother."
"Because he's your son?" Nezuko asked.
Rolling his eyes, Aizawa said, "No, Shinso is not my son. I'm grabbing him because I'm hoping his Brainwashing quirk will work on the undead, assuming of course that Rei Todoroki is the ultimate boss vampire that we're looking for."
Holding up a hand, Kirishima said, "Meanwhile, Tetsutetsu, Dark Shadow, and I can go visit Tsuyu's mom to check to see if she's the ultimate boss vampire."
Hizashi looked confused by what Kirishima said. "Mrs. Asui? Why her?"
"One of the kids turned into a vampire is Tsuyu's little sister," Kirishima began to explain, "Mrs. Asui being the ultimate boss vampire would give her quick, immediate access to turning the little girl over there into a vampire. Also, Tsuyu was killed in the efforts to contain the zombie apocalypse, and Mrs. Asui if she is the ultimate boss vampire would naturally be upset by that, probably giving vampirism to Tsuyu's little sister to help ensure she lives, so to speak."
"Why are you two taking Dark Shadow?" Zenitsu asked.
Jerking a thumb at Dark Shadow, Kirishima explained, "Tokoyami went over to Tsuyu's all the time when they were still alive, and Dark Shadow would naturally know where to find the Asui residence since he was literally a part of Tokoyami before becoming the whole pie. He can lead us right to the Asuis' front doorstep."
Shrugging, Hizashi replied, "The only reason we're even considering Tsuyu's mom as a suspect is due to the hint Loki gave us that the mom of one of Sho's students who had died recently is the lady that we're looking for. I very much highly doubt that Mrs. Asui is the ultimate boss vampire."
"You boys should still be careful," Aizawa said. After a game plan was set up, the parties went out to go check out the nineteen suspects in who could be the ultimate boss vampire. Hizashi was really hoping that they'd find the ultimate boss vampire really soon.
END, CHAPTER TWO
Author's notes;
Here the heroes talk to Loki, learn the story behind the bargain that Nezu made with the norse god of mischief, then got a list of suspects to go after. The heroes might very well end up becoming Vampire Slayers in the process (a promotion for the Demon Slayer crew boys?), so stay tuned to see where this will go next.
