Hizashi Yamada vs. the vampire convent
Chapter four: Lady Dimitrescu ain't got nothing on her
Hizashi and the others couldn't believe it; the ultimate boss vampire turned out to be Beru Asui, the mother of the late Tsuyu Asui, and now late Satsuki Asui. It was an unspoken agreement between everyone who knew that none of them were going to tell vampire Beru that her daughter that she had turned into a vampire had to be slain because she had escaped and was trying to kill Zenitsu. Bravely, Hizashi stepped forward to speak to vampire Beru.
"...Hey yo, umm, Asui's mom," Hizashi spoke up, prompting the ultimate boss vampire to turn to face him.
Vampire Beru snarled angrily, near animalistically. "...What do you want, human?"
"Is... is there any solid reason why you decided to turn so many little dudes and dudettes into vampires like yourself?" Hizashi asked, "I mean, our theory on the matter is that you wanted to grant them immortality because of what happened to your oldest child."
"Yes," vampire Beru said, "My daughter Tsuyu was killed at the hero academy you teach at Present Mic, turned into a mindless zombie when trying to contain a zombie apocalypse from breaking out and spreading from the school."
This time, Aizawa stepped forward. "...That is the actual truth. Which begs the question of how you found out, as UA spread the story that it was a villain attack to keep the populace from freaking out because the truth is worse than the lie we gave."
Vampire Beru nodded once. "One of my crows told me."
"If you didn't want Tsuyu to die," Tanjiro began, "Then why didn't you grant her the cursed vampiric immortality before she came to UA?"
Rolling her eyes, vampire Beru replied, "Because I didn't think that it'd be necessary. Sure, I knew that me and Ganma's oldest child was gearing up for a career that had a degree of danger to it, but we were assured that UA would keep Tsuyu safe. Had I been able to foresee that something would take place that would result in Tsuyu's death as a mortal, I'd of granted her the cursed gift of vampiric immortality prior to the event to ensure she would continue to live."
Hound Dog arched a wry eyebrow at the ultimate boss vampire. "...You call being undead living?"
Vampire Beru shrugged. "Better a vampire, which is sentient and had some degree of control over itself with said control getting better over time, than a mindless zombie who would only ever think of eating non-undead flesh."
Toshinori, who was missing his shirt because he left it at the Midoriya apartment after doing the dirty with Inko, stepped forward. "...So you turned the kids into vampires to keep them from being turned into zombies."
"The only reason I took any actions at all is because my oldest child was killed," vampire Beru began, "Turned into a zombie, then killed again. Had nothing happened to Tsuyu, I would of been more than glad to keep my vampirism to myself and continue living as if I were a normal mother of three children."
Hizashi gave the matter some thought. "...So the vampire business occured solely because of the near zombie apocalypse, which occurred ultimately because Sekijiro refused to make Monoma cut it out with harshing on Sho's students."
"Don't try to pin the rising of two kinds of undead on Sekijiro," Aizawa said.
"Imma do it!" Hizashi declared.
Kirishima and Tetsutetsu, both of them still using their respective quirks to keep themselves hardened, looked over to vampire Beru. "...You say you would of turned Tsuyu if you knew that it'd of been necessary," Kirishima began, "And you already turned your youngest child, the Satsuki girl, into a vampire. Tell us, did you turn your other child yet? What about your husband?"
Vampire Beru gently shook her head. "No, the men of my family are still human. But in light of what happened to Tsuyu, I'm planning to give vampirism to both my husband Ganma and our son Samidare, as soon as they get back from the company camping trip Ganma's company is having, as Ganma went and took Samidare with him since a lot of the men are bringing their kids too."
Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke all readied their Nichirin Swords. "Sorry lady," Tanjiro said, a fierce look of determination in his eyes, "But we can't let you take their humanity away."
"You would see me lose both my husband and my only son like I had lost my first born daughter?!" vampire Beru snarled, "It would seem that I have to kill all of you in order to ensure that what family I have left will continue to live!" Vampire Beru then proceeded to rush at the boys of the Demon Slayer crew, who all got out of the way thanks to all of the physical conditioning they got through their Demon Slayer training. But it was a close call.
Even Muzan was surprised by vampire Beru's speed. "Perhaps demons like myself aren't so special after all," Muzan said as he got back, a mild hint of fear in his eyes that three Demon Slayers of notable skill were barely able to dodge a vampire.
"We need to trap her somehow!" Hizashi yelled. Thinking quickly, the loud pro hero used his quirk to fire an attack shout at vampire Beru while she was busy getting up from where she had landed after trying and failing to pounce on Zenitsu. Although his attack failed to hit vampire Beru directly, Hizashi was able to clip her with his attack, making her tumble a bit. As vampire Beru tumbled from being hit by that attack, Tanjiro and Inosuke jumped at her, swinging their Nichirin Swords at her.
Vampire Beru was able to get up and dodge a truly devastating blow, but got a slash over her chest from Tanjiro and her right leg from halfway up the shin and downward cut off by Inosuke. The cut and partly severed leg regenerated before much time, however. "She heals hella quick like demons," Inosuke remarked, "She may be tougher to take down than I thought."
Turning to look at the non-Demon Slayers in the group, Tanjiro said, "Are there any weaknesses that vampires have that we can exploit?"
"They burn up in sunlight, similar to demons if what Muzan told me about demons is correct," Hizashi called back, "So if we can somehow trap her until sunrise and expose her to the sun, then it'll get the job done!"
Tanjiro, getting a sudden idea, had brilliant and richly colored flames flare from his body as he rushed at vampire Beru. "HINOKAMI KAGURA!"
*SLASH*
"MY LEG!"
Everyone looked on as Tanjiro, using Hinokami Kagura aka Sun Breathing, severed vampire Beru's left leg at the knee. To the further surprise of the heroes, vampire Beru's severed leg was showing no immediate signs of vampiric regeneration. "That accursed Breathing Style works on vampires the same as it does on demons!" Muzan exclaimed.
Vampire Beru was laying on her back on the ground, propping herself up to glare angrily at the boy with the hanafuda earrings. "Your sword!" vampire Beru snarled angrily at Tanjiro, "It's as if the black blade is made from the sun itself!"
Tanjiro, saying nothing, merely rushed in at vampire Beru again, a firm and grim look of seriousness in his expression. Spinning in a circle, Tanjiro made a ring of the Sun Breathing flames that slashed into vampire Beru's neck, decapitating her and killing her. As the ultimate boss vampire's body fell over lifelessly to the ground, Hizashi felt his phone go off. "Moshi moshi," Hizashi said.
"Yo Hizashi," Sekijiro said on the other end, "The vampire kids are turning back into humans! You and the others found and killed the ultimate boss vampire, I take it?"
"Yeah, it was the mom of Sho's late student Asui," Hizashi replied, "Tanjiro killed Asui's mom using some legendary form of Demon Slayer breathing technique. Anyway, we got a fair bit to cover when we all reconvene over at UA."
"I know," Sekijiro said, "Apparently both the Bakugo mom and the Jiro mom were killed in what looked to be home invasions. You got any clue what might of happened there since you and the others were checking all of the moms?"
Hizashi, looking confused about what to say, replied, "Lemme get back to you on that one, Sekijiro." Ending the call, Hizashi turned to the others and said, "First, how are we going to cover telling the rest of the Asui family that both the mom and the youngest daughter are now dead, and two, how will we explain to Sekijiro that Inosuke killed the Jiro mom on accident due to being startled?"
Shooting his friend a wry look, Muzan added, "The boar masked Demon Slayer also killed the Bakugo mom on accident due to being startled."
Turning to look at Inosuke, Aizawa said, "Really, Inosuke?!"
Shrugging, Toshinori said, "We can tell the rest of the Asui family the same thing we'll tell Sekijiro concerning the Bakugo and Jiro moms. Villains did it."
"It worked for how we explained to everyone outside of those in the know about what happened to most of the first year hero course students," Hizashi pointed out, seemingly agreeing with Toshinori.
Aizawa sighed in a resigned tone. "...Now we just need to see if we have to get the kids who were turned into vampires then turned back onto humans to keep quiet about what they went through. I'm hoping that it won't be necessary somehow, like if none of them have any memories of how they had temporarily been vampires." And so, after gathering up the remains of Beru into a body bag, the group proceeded to make their way back to UA.
The following morning, everyone who was in on what happened met up with one another. As it turned out, after the children who were turned into vampires were turned back into humans, they all passed out and woke up having absolutely no memory of their times as vampires, so the group was able to pass off what fuzzy, vague memories that did surface for the kids as simply having really bad dreams and whatnot.
The police and pro heroes were now on even greater alert for the villains of society; said villains had already killed most of UA's first year hero course, and now they've killed the mother and younger sister of one of the UA first year hero course students who they had previously killed. Speaking of that family, Ganma Asui was devastated to learn that, in addition to his first born child Tsuyu being dead, the same now applied to both Ganma's wife Beru and their youngest child Satsuki.
"Damn villains," Ganma said when he met with the group in the know of what really happened; they didn't tell the Asui patriarch any of the actual truth. "They've taken both of my daughters as well as my wife," Ganma went on, "Now all I have left is my boy. ...Well, there's also Samidare's grandparents on Beru's side of the family. Oh hell, how will I break this to Beru's parents Fukasaku and Shima? I haven't even told Samidare yet about what happened to Beru and Satsuki, and he's still upset about Tsuyu's death!"
Shrugging indifferently, Hizashi said, "Sucks to be you!"
...
The matter of the death of All For One was another matter. Sure, the heroes were able to resolve the matter of the vampire convent without All For One's knowledge about vampires since he had been apparently prepping to deal with them, but the fact that All For One is now dead meant that there'd be a power vacuum in the Japanese criminal and villain underworld, especially considering that All For One is bound to have left something behind.
After casually chucking All For One's shriveled up, bony jerky-like body into an incinerator in the UA campus basement, Hizashi who had chucked All For One's body into the incinerator said, "So what's the game plan to deal with the remnants of All For One's influence? I mean he's bound to have some guys wanting to carry on his dark legacy, especially any guys he may have very likely prepped to help him deal with the now defunct vampire convent."
"We hunt down any and all leads," Toshinori said, pounding a fist into his hand, "Take down whatever was left behind by that madman."
Shrugging, Muzan said, "I don't know. I mean All For One was rather tame in my opinion."
Luci chuckled under his breath. "All For One was actually kind of adorable in a way."
Aizawa turned to look right at Hizashi. "You're friends with both of them how?"
"Who cares?" Hizashi said, "We need to find the villains who broke into the homes of your late students Bakugo, Jiro, Uraraka, and Iida and killed all of the respective moms in those families!"
The eyes of Muzan, Tanjiro, and Zenitsu all turned to look at Inosuke. "...What?" Inosuke asked.
