Once again, I own neither RWBY or Godzilla, which are owned by Roosterteeth and Toho respectively. I got the name for SpaceGodzilla, from Tarbtano's the Bridge, and asked for permission to use it before making the first version of this story, if they no longer want me to use it, I'll change it after they let me know.

It was hard to believe it came to this.

The Commander of G-Force, Takaki Aso, thought as he watched the screen in front of him in the command center of G-Force. What it displayed was the footage of a drone overlooking a fierce battle between four giants. Three of them being Kaiju, and one of them being the go to machine designed to fight them.

It all began when one of the Kaiju, known as Zilla, had escaped from a transport carrying its body, having been assumed to have died from the American military after it had attacked New York City. The Americans had no facilities ready that were capable of studying the corpse, so they had sent it to G-Force. Evidently though, that wasn't going to happen.

The Kaiju had clearly faked its death, having gone into some sort of hibernative state in order to trick its would-be killers. When it did wake up, it had practically been inside the Tokyo bay, where it would begin to go on a rampage, seeing that it was once again surrounded by humans. The barge that had been carrying it had been completely destroyed before it had moved onto the city and begun to attack everything in sight.

Although there was little that could be done for the unfortunate people on the boat that had been carrying the now enraged Kaiju, the people of Tokyo were experienced with the attacks of giant monsters. As soon as the first alarms rang out, the people of Tokyo were quick to begin evacuating, knowing better than to linger when a Kaiju attacked. So despite the suddenness of Zilla's attack, it didn't take very long for most of Tokyo to be evacuated.

In an attempt to eliminate Zilla before its presence could invite further trouble, Kiryu had been dispatched. Unfortunately, Kiryu's pilot had been unavailable at the time of Zilla's attack. Forcing them to have to rely on an experimental new autopilot function.

But, whether it was because the effectiveness of the new autopilot wasn't up to par yet, or that Zilla was simply a more crafty opponent than expected. The Kaiju would weave between the different buildings of Tokyo to avoid the various attacks of Kiryu. And although Zilla evidently seemed incapable of defeating Kiryu in a straight fight, it employed many different strategies to make the fight difficult for Kiryu, such as quickly burrowing underneath the mech to cause the ground beneath it to collapse.

And because Kiryu was not able to dispatch Zilla in time, Godzilla would arrive soon after. The King of the Monsters undoubtedly having sensed the presence of an intruder in his territory, and arriving to deal with the unwelcome visitor. Unfortunately, Godzilla's presence would only serve to fully escalate the situation even further.

Because Godzilla had undoubtedly changed the direction of the fight, changing Kiryu's primary target automatically and catching Zilla off guard. Though it was arguable what was a bigger change was what followed him. As it wasn't very long after he arrived did another Kaiju come after him.

It caught everyone off guard when none other than SpaceGodzilla arrived with a sudden attack on Godzilla with his Corona Beam. Evidently, the cosmic clone of the King of the Monsters had been waiting in the upper atmosphere for a chance to ambush Godzilla.

With the addition of two of the most powerful Kaiju ever known to Earth, what had once been a hopefully quick operation to eliminate one Kaiju quickly turned into a fierce four way free for all. Already, Tokyo was in ruins with the battle, with there being not much more left to destroy. The battle also had no sign of ending anytime soon, with it being anyone's guess when it will end and who will win.

In this dire situation, there wasn't much Takaki was able to do. Sending any standard military forces in would only get the men in said forces killed, even if Zilla was on record of not being as immune to standard weaponry as the other Kaiju present. Kiryu had already been sent in before the proverbial shit had hit the fan, and his infamously short battery life was most likely below half by now. On top of that, while the AI of the autopilot suddenly seemed to have been performing much better than it had before, having taken a much more aggressive and overall better stance in the fight with the arrival of Godzilla and SpaceGodzilla, it seemed to now be malfunctioning somewhat, ignoring incoming orders to retreat and other mission directives.

He had even heard some of his men quietly saying that they think that Kiryu's age old issue with a certain spirit taking control of it had come back up, and that was the real reason why Kiryu had suddenly began to behave differently.

But there was one thing Takaki was able to do.

Recently, the head scientists of G-Force had been able to redesign a new version of the Dimension Tide. This new version, at least theoretically, would be even more powerful, more stable, and even more controllable. Tests of it had proved promising, but it had yet to be tested in a combat situation.

Takaki could think of no better situation to that than this one.

The only thing that even made him hesitant on that would be the loss of Kiryu. His unique nature makes him near impossible to replace. However, G-Force had other mechs, such as M.O.G.U.E.R.A, making his loss not all that devastating. Plus, if the Dimension Tide proved successful, the need for such mechs would be put into question.

And so, Takaki had given the order to fire the weapon.

That had been a few minutes ago. Since then, a silence had reigned over the Command Center, as all that were present could now only wait for the weapon to move into position to fire. The only sounds that most could be heard were the sounds of battle and the roars that came from its participants.

And then it happened.

A small beeping sound echoed throughout the silent room signaled that the Dimension Tide had fired just before the screens showing the battle field flashed white. The camera of the drone wouldn't be able to show anything that came from the explosion that came from the impact of an artificial back hole until the light of the event faded away. Of course, the momentary blindness only made the tension of the room rise, something that only got worse when they momentarily seemed to lose contact with the drone.

When the light eventually did fade, what the command room saw was… nothing.

There was no ongoing battle between three giant monsters and one machine. Where there had been before, was now a giant hole in the ruined Tokyo. Of course, something similar had happened the last time the Dimension Tide had been fired on Godzilla, and he got up like nothing had happened. So everyone watching didn't immediately trust that this had done the job just like that.

But despite everyone simply expecting, consciously or not, for Godzilla to simply get up out of some nearby rubble, no matter how long they waited, it never did.

It was only after a few minutes of staring at the screen, waiting for something to happen did the reality of the situation begin to settle in.

Godzilla was gone.

The legendary King of the Monsters, that all of humanity had spent decades fighting against, alongside, or attempting to control or come to some kind of understanding, was gone. After so long of seeing him survive everything the universe threw at him, including how he nearly self-destructed from his own power, it was hard to believe he was gone. But he really was.

When the news got out, Takaki Aso had no doubt that the reactions would be varied the world over. Some would probably bemoan the loss of the Earth's greatest natural defender, while others would undoubtedly celebrate the defeat of the greatest monster humanity has ever known. Though most probably express disbelief that it was possible and that Godzilla would be back some years later.

He always had been every other time he had been "defeated", why would this time be every other time?

That thought was probably running through more than a few members of G-Force's heads. Takaki was even willing to bet that some of them were hopeful for it. Because despite their mission to beat him back and destroy him, some of them had undoubtedly felt some kind of connection with the big lizard during the times that they fought together. Or maybe it was because Godzilla had been around for so long at this point, life without him on Earth was almost unreal as a thought.

Takaki though?

He was old. He had spent most of his life fighting against Godzilla and other Kaiju at this point, and he was already planning to retire at this point. Miki had retired soon after her powers had disappeared, and so have most of his original staff at this he could do was look up at the ceiling tiredly thinking that this would be a good occasion to make it official.

If Godzilla did come back, so be it. He and the world certainly wouldn't be surprised at this point. Let his successor handle it when the time comes, if it did.

And in the case of other Kaiju? Well, if the Dimension Tide worked on Godzilla, there wouldn't be many it wouldn't work against. Though Takaki could think of one that might make things difficult, but many of the old Kaiju that the world feared weren't around anymore and the ones that remained weren't as aggressive. Granted, that had been because Godzilla had kept them in line and those that hadn't were killed by him or the other one. With Godzilla gone now, anything could happen.

Either way, as Takaki Aso looked up at the ceiling, thinking of the future, he couldn't help but think of one thing: that if Godzilla was alive, where was he? Maybe he would land on some quiet planet far away where he can live his days out in peace. Aso could accept that, since despite all the men he had lost to Godzilla, he would be of no harm to humanity, and frankly, deserved some peace after all this time.

But wherever Godzilla ended up, if he was still alive, Aso, despite everything, doubted he would ever see him, SpaceGodzilla, Kiryu, and Zilla ever again.

Zilla woke up with a start.

She breathed heavily for a few seconds as she gathered her senses and looked up at the sight of a starry sky. A chill went through her as the shock of waking up subsided and she could feel how cold the air was. It felt like she was laying on a collection of tiny rocks and pebbles, similar to how she used to as an iguana, but they were cold rather than hot.

What happened? She remembered waking up, she remembered waking up on some kind of human vessel near one a human nest that looked a little like the one she had nearly died in but smelt very different. She remembered becoming enraged upon remembering the death of her children, and then ending up in a fight with that metal thing and those other two that were kind of like her. There was a flash of light-

Zilla's thoughts froze as she felt the feeling of her hand on her face, having gone to rub her head to soothe the headache she was getting. Or what she thought was her hand. She wasn't sure because it felt nothing like her hand.

She essentially flung her(?) own hand out in front of her to see what was wrong with it.

Only, she didn't see the long, clawed and scaly four-fingered hands she had since she was mutated and changed, but the smooth skinned, five fingered hand of a human. Come to think of it, her face had felt flatter than it should…

Zilla shot up into a seated position, looking down at herself, hoping to hell and back that what she would see wasn't what she thought it would be.

Only it was just that. When she looked, she didn't see her giant, reptilian body, but the small hairless mammalian body of a human. Only she was lacking the strange furs that the humans usually had.

There was no way that this was actually happening…

The sound of running water caught her attention, making her take notice of a nearby stream. Although everything was telling her one thing, she couldn't believe any of it. She hoped that, as she looked into the water of the stream, she would see her normal reflection and she was just seeing things.

But the hope was quickly dashed as all that looked back at her was the face of a human looking back at her. The human, or Zilla guessed, she had long hair that was the same shade of dark gray that matched the color of the scales of her hide on the back, and had a set of reddish orange eyes against the white scalea of a human rather than the yellow that she usually had. Besides that though, there were no other similarities with her previous form to show it was her, and not some random human. She didn't even have an underbite anymore!

Seeing her reflection, reality finally began to set in. Somehow, whatever that light was and wherever it had sent her, she had somehow been turned human in the process. But there was no way that Zilla could just accept this.

The water showing her reflection suddenly found itself violently disturbed when Zilla's hand was slammed into it. A snarl erupted out of her throat, audibly showcasing her anger and frustration. The water would eventually settle again, causing the reflection to come back to show a very angry "Zilla".

Was this some kind of sick cosmic joke?!

She had just woken up after nearly being killed by them. After they killed her children. And now she was one of them!?

Anger, frustration, and confusion ran rampant in the Kaiju's mind as her hands clenched into fists so hard that the knuckles were turning white. She couldn't understand why this had happened, and why she was a human of all things. Why? Why!? Wh-

The sound of a heavy footstep caught her attention, causing her to snap her head up to see the approaching figure. What she saw, momentarily threw out the building thoughts of anger at suddenly being turned into a human all of a sudden. If only because the sight was so bizarre to her that the shock of it momentarily made her mind go blank.

Standing before her, on the other side of the river was something that looked like a human. Well, it "looked like" a human as in it had the vague and approximate shape of a human. In just about every other respect, you would either have to be blind or stupid to think it was an actual human.

Most of its "form" was made up of pieces of metal of some kind, shaped to the same outline as a human, with numerous ridges running across them, especially on the three part chest. Underneath and between these metallic frames, however, black wiring could be seen. Its face, if you could call it that, was another one of the metal frames that was shaped to resemble the head and face of a human, except for its eyes, which were yellow lights in the shape of the eyes of a human.

But the shock of seeing such an odd thing was quick to go away the more Zilla looked at the thing. In fact, she had already seen such a thing, not even an hour ago in fact. And the more she looked over the thing before her, and the more familiar it began to look, a single question came to her mind: if she had been brought here and changed by that strange light somehow, why couldn't something that had been right next to her at the time?

An anger filled her once again at the sight of the thing that was her opponent and enemy only a few minutes before. Letting out a growl, she quickly rose up from being all fours into a tense, crouched position. Putting aside her confusion and anger for the current status of her body for just a second in favor of the more pressing issue of an upcoming battle, ready to leap at and attack the strange machine-

"Wait." the machine suddenly said, it's voice sounding strange to Zilla as it raised its hand up toward her in a non hostile manner.

Hearing the machine speak surprised Zilla, it not having spoken during the entire fight she had with it before. The shock of it suddenly communicating with her out of the blue was enough to stun her out of the rage he had been entering. It was then that she noticed that the red "scars" that were under the machine's eyes, going down to the thing's chin, were now glowing in contrast to how they had been before.

"I'm not here to continue fighting you, Zilla." The Machine continued while Zilla was too distracted with the fact that she was actually able to communicate with the odd machine. Though he unknowingly seemed to confuse the Kaiju.

"Zilla?" She asked without thinking, repeating what she didn't know was actually her name, though she ended up being surprised at the sound of her.

"... It's the name given to you by humans." The machine answered after a second, seemingly realizing that the Kaiju had no way of having that information before, once again surprising Zilla.

She had a name? The reaction she had to it was a bit mixed the more she thought about it.

On one hand, it never really occurred to her before that she should have a name. So she never really thought about it. And as she thought about it, for whatever reason they gave him it, Zilla actually didn't sound that bad to her if he was to be completely honest.

The issue, however, was that it was humans who had given her that name.

Zilla's earlier anger immediately came back with a vengeance at that thought. Who were they to name her? Who gave them the right after what they did?!

"And what do they call you?" Zilla practically spat back at the mech. "Or do humans only name the things they plan to torture and kill?"

The machine actually seemed to be surprised by the sudden display of anger and hatred of its makers by Zilla.

"...Kiryu." the machine answered after a few seconds, as if seemingly letting Zilla calm a little before answering. "That's the name they've given me. And listen, I can understand why you would feel about them-"

"You understand?!" Zilla interrupted shooting up her feet as she shouted at the mech. "What would you understand?! Seeing your children killed in front of you?! Nearly being killed by them over and over when all you ever did was simply try to live?!"

Kiryu was caught off guard by the sudden display of aggression from Zilla. Though he could hardly blame her considering her experiences with humanity, like her minor rant had exemplified, had not exactly been positive ones. On top of that, she had no idea of his true nature, and like most people, assumed him to be a simple machine made completely by the humans with no life of his own.

Like most, she had no idea that he knew better than most what she had gone through, and what it was like for the humans to try to kill you for seemingly no other reason than simply living. When, in reality it had been little more than a giant misunderstanding. After all, they did kill him.

For him, his home had been destroyed and he had lashed out against people who had nothing to do with it, and they had defended themselves in desperation. For her, it was a case of mistaken identity. One that had already resulted in the deaths of her children and nearly resulted in her own.

And through that unfortunately shared experience, Kiryu had a strong sense of empathy for Zilla and her plight, in stark contrast to that robotic image most had for him.

"Yes, I do understand, but it's… complicated to explain why." Kiryu said, thinking carefully on how to word what he said in order to try and calm Zilla down. "But, all you need to know for now is that I've lost… things to the humans too and I relate to what you're going through."

"Then why would you fight for them?!" Zilla asked out in anger, still not exactly calming like Kiryu had been hoping for. "You were the one stopping me from making them pay!"

"I was. Because they weren't- Look out!" Kiryu began to explain, only to stop himself mid sentence to call out to Zilla.

The sudden shift in the sentence surprised Zilla, catching her off guard with the sudden change in tone enough that she didn't quite process what it was he said exactly. She still hadn't really when she heard a massive thud from behind her all of a sudden. And when she turned around to see what had made it, she was unable to really believe it, as it was unlike anything she had ever seen before.

Granted, that wasn't really saying all that much.

Before her near death experience in New York City, Zilla had not had all that long a life. She had spent a year on the French Archipelago that she had hatched on before being mutated into the Kaiju that the world knew her as from the radiation of nuclear testing. After that, she only spent a couple of years living in the oceans. As a result, the vast majority of life that she had seen were aquatic based marine life, and the only things of note that she had seen that were land based were the animals on her island of her birth that she only had vague memories of, humans of course, and those two larger saurian creatures that were even larger than her.

As a result of all of that, she had no possible way of knowing that the pitch black creature in front of her resembled a bear.

The majority of its body was covered in a thick layer of pitch black fur that rippled and waved as it stood up on two thick hind legs, one of its forepaws pulled back in anticipation to swipe at the surprised Kaiju. But not all of it was covered in the black fur, as white, bony protrusions stuck out of its body, ranging from simple spines and spikes, to the mask around its head that were framed around the red, burning eyes that glared down into Zilla.

Zilla didn't know that this creature was, that it was a Ursa and a Creature of Grimm, and one of the biggest threats to humanity that exists on the world of Remnant, where they unknowingly found themselves. So she also didn't know that it and other Creatures of Grimm were attracted to negative emotions. And Zilla, since waking up, was currently having a plethora of negative emotions.

Zilla let out a gasp of surprise at the sight of the large and imposing Grimm before her, subconsciously taking a step back, an action that unknowingly saved her life. Her foot would slip against the wet stones that were against the bank of the river, causing her to slip and fall backwards. Just in time to avoid the powerful swipe of the Ursa's paw, that had enough force to take off a normal human's head and sharp claws that had been posed to have cut open her throat.

The Grimm let out a brief grow seeing that it had missed its target, moving its glare down to where Zilla now lay on the ground. It would raise one of the back legs it was standing on up off of the ground, its intent was clear to crush her underfoot. Something Zilla was not willing to do, quickly rolling to the side just as the Ursa lowered its foot and slammed it where her chest just was, kicking up dust and sending some of the pebbles and stones flying.

After avoiding the attempt to crush her and now was in some sense of momentary safety, Zilla did not rise up onto her feet. Rather, she stayed down on all fours, looking down onto all fours as her hands moved into a flurry of action as she resorted to her first instinct: digging. But it quickly became clear that was not the correct decision to make.

Her hands did not move as fast as she wanted or was used to, and even more than that, they didn't move as much earth as they had. On top of that, she let out a low cry of pain when some stones had fallen back down on her hands, a sizable one landing on one of her fingers dead on, nearly crushing it. She quickly pulled her hand back up, holding it by the wrist on reflex before promptly realizing just how pathetically small the hole she had just dug was.

And it was then that she had a major realization: her new body was not designed for rapid excavation or really digging of any kind.

Without the ability to carry out what had once been her primary means of escape from any situation, Zilla could only slowly look back at the still growling Ursa next to her with wide eyes full of fear as it once again raised one of its paws to swipe at her.

But before it could, the deafening roar of jet engines surprised and caught both of their attention, prompting them to look over to the other side of the river where Kiryu was. Only, Kiryu was no longer over there.

With movement almost faster than Zilla could track, the mech blaster over across the river to be just in front of the Ursa in less than a second. A foot long blade would extend out from his wrist, extending out past his hand as he swung it in an arching slash out at the Grimm.

Once upon a time, this blade was able to easily cut into even Godzilla's near impervious hide with little effort. That was no longer possible, Godzilla having grown far stronger over decades faster than Kiryu's blade, or even Kiryu as a whole could really keep up despite numerous upgrades to his weapons and systems over the years. Something that was definitely proven in the recent battle that had sent them here.

But that still meant that the blade was more than capable of slicing through this bear-like monstrosity's skull like butter. Within an instant later, before the blade had left the already dead Grimm's head, a powerful electric shock would flow into it from the still connecting blade. The strength of the surge had been enough that it blew the corpse backwards towards the trees that lined the river bank, with the top half of the head farther into the trees.

Kiryu's thrusters were then cut off, and he then landed in the stones and pebbles of the river bank with a metallic thud and displacing the stones right under him. The blade was then retracted, disappearing back into his wrist as he stared at the corpse of the monster which began to rapidly dissipate and disappear. As he looked for a second longer, he thought about how he was glad that whatever it was that had done it and however they were changed to be like this, his weapons and combat systems had been mostly unchanged and remained relatively the same.

Kiryu would then shift his gaze downward to where Zilla was, looking up at him in stunned surprise for helping him.

"I meant what I said before, I'm not here to fight you. Yes, I stopped you from attacking the human city earlier, but I had my reasons for doing so and I did my best to scare you off without hurting or killing you." Kiryu said to the confused Zilla, before he extended a mechanical hand out to her, offering her more than just to help her up. "I don't know how long I have to tell you, but I can tell you those reasons and why you were attacked and your children were killed. Not here though. I don't know what that… thing was or if there's more of them nearby, and you should probably get covered up or some place warm before you get sick."

Zilla, for her part, stared at the robotic hand that was offered to her, and she began to go through Kiryu's words and her options.

At his words, Zilla remembered the battle as best she could. Her emotions had been running high at the time so she hadn't been fully focusing on everything and it made remembering everything clearly. But she remembered what had happened later when those two other Kaiju arrived.

Those two living mountains of power and strength were unlike anything she had ever seen before, which dwarfed her and even Kiryu seemed small in comparison to the bigger one. She remembered how Kiryu had engaged the two of them, not necessarily forgetting her, but definitely putting all of her focus on them to the point where it could be mistaken that he had. And she remembers his weapons, weapons that could've easily wounded or killed her, had the mech used them on her before either of those two giants arrived.

And going through the battle in her head, she knew that he had plenty of opportunities to do so had he wanted to.

Then there was his offer, for him to tell her why the humans had so viciously attacked her, leading to the death of her newborn hatchlings.

It actually wasn't that important to her in all honesty. At this point, it didn't really matter to her why it had happened, all that mattered was that it did happen and her children were killed. But there was something else to consider.

Her eyes drifted over to where the corpse of the Grimm was, already nearly completely dissipated into nothing.

Kiryu was right, there could be more of those things, or worse. It was clear that Zilla's new form had negatively affected her capability to fight, and that the way she used to was all but impossible as it currently was now. But here she was that she had someone who could fight.

At least for now. She didn't know what he meant by "not knowing how long he had to tell her", but she could see the yellow lights that acted as his eyes dim slightly for just a second before returning back to normal. Whatever it meant, and until that time ran out in whatever form, he was offering her safety.

And so, Zilla would tentatively reach out with a hand of her own, taking the mechanical hand to accept the help up and the deal that it offered.

Spacegodzilla let out a low groan as he began to awaken.

His body ached as he began to regain consciousness and he looked up at the sight of an unfamiliar rocky ceiling above him. Realizing he was in some sort of cave from the sight, one of the most powerful Kaiju in all of history wondered how he had arrived where he was. Putting that aside for now though, he could also hear the crackle of fire, realizing that it was his lightsource that allowed him to see the ceiling of the cave in the first place.

Spacegodzilla was quick to realize that he felt… odd. He noticed that as he moved his limbs around to get feeling back into them, they felt and moved differently than they usually did. He also quickly could no longer feel his tail at all, though he still felt the familiar and comforting weight of his shoulder crystals.

As he let out a grunt to push himself up, Spacegodzilla would wonder if the odd feelings he had were a result of whatever the humans had hit him with. He knew it had to be their handiwork after all, everything pointed to it. He didn't know what it was exactly they did though, even if he had something of a nostalgic feeling from that odd light washing over it for some reason. But that could wait, for now, Spacegodzilla had to get his bearings and see what was wrong with-

"You're awake."

Spacegodzilla froze as he heard the voice speak. It sounded different than it usually did, but there was no way he would ever mistake it for any other voice of anyone or anything else. Not when he knew who it belonged to…

The Exterrestrial Kaiju would spin around, throwing his hand out, planning to let loose with a telekinetic blast at Godzilla, but no aura of energy would blast out from the limb. It would've been very odd and maybe even a little terrifying for SpaceGodzilla, he had never had any sort of difficulty in using his powers before, being able to use them with ease since his unorthodox birth. However, SpaceGodzilla hadn't noticed the lack of activation from his powers just yet.

As he had extended his hand out to properly see it in the light of the fire, he noticed that the limb that was his own was different. Gone was the scaly, clawed hand with four thick fingers, instead, now he had a hand with smooth skin and five slimmer fingers with no claws to speak of. Now, he had the hand of a human.

In something akin to panic, SpaceGodzilla would look himself over to find that the rest of his body matched the appearance of his hand, and that now, physically speaking, he was a human. He even had a set of long, dark blue hair that matched the shade of most of his scales, reaching down past his shoulders. He'd have to look in his reflection to be sure, but for now, the only thing he could tell that had remained of his old gigantic, reptilian form were the white quartz-like crystals that grew out of his shoulders.

That meant that he would at least have his powers still, at least he hoped it did anyway, but this unexpected change in biology was definitely affecting them and that would explain their lack of activation just now.

"I was wondering when you would." Godzilla spoke again, bringing a confused SpaceGodzilla's attention back to him, seeing the form that was sitting on the other side of the fire.

Like him, Godzilla's appearance had been changed completely into that of a human. There were no scales, spines, or even a tail to speak of, all of them gone and only the smooth and pinkish skin of a human and a head of longer gray hair that matched his own scales, though it was shorter than Xenilla's hair, to replace them. Like himself, the King of the Monsters had no clothes, though SpaceGodzilla would've only questioned where he would've gotten such clothes if he had been wearing them.

Had SpaceGodzilla seen him before speaking, he would've assumed him to be just a normal human. A large one to be sure, clearly taller and bigger than SpaceGodzilla even as they sat with an even more muscular build, but still a human nonetheless. Or, he would've had it not been for one specific trait of his.

The pair of eyes that looked at him. A pair of eyes that, even as he sat there seemingly calm, had the same shade of orange and ferocity as the fire that was in front of him. Eyes that SpaceGodzilla knew that no other being in the universe could ever have.

Well, except for himself of course.

"...Where are we?" SpaceGodzilla asked after a couple of seconds, staring at Godzilla in distrust and caution, almost as if he was expecting a beam of nuclear death to come out of Godzilla's mouth rather than an answer to his question.

"No idea." Godzilla said, going against what SpaceGodzilla expected to happen as Godzilla even looked away from him, back down at the fire. "I woke up a couple of hours ago with you next to me, unconscious. I found this cave, brought you in here, and started this fire. I've been waiting for you to wake up since."

"And you helped me, let alone didn't kill me in my sleep, because…?" SpaceGodzilla questioned, legitimately confused at the prospect of Godzilla helping him.

But Godzilla wouldn't give him an answer to his question and make his confusion go away. Instead, Godzilla would only continue to stare at the fire silently for several seconds. SpaceGodzilla clearly wasn't happy at his question seemingly being ignored, but when he opened his mouth to ask it again, Godzilla would say something else.

"We're not on Earth anymore." Godzilla said, still staring down at the fire. "I don't know where we are or why we look like this, but I know that much."

"...And how do you know that?" SpaceGodzilla asked after a second, surprised by the sudden claim, and this time, if Godzilla ignored his question, he was going to strangle Godzilla, lack of answers and human bodies be damned.

But, luckily for Godzilla, he didn't ignore his question, even if he didn't answer it verbally. Instead, Godzilla would redirect his gaze away from the fire and off to the side. Following his gaze, Spacegodzilla would find the entrance of the cave they had been in, and through it, see a sight that made his eyes widen in shock.

Out through the entrance of the cave, there was a clear view of the moon. Only, it wasn't Earth's moon, that much was obvious. Despite being the right distance away, and therefore the right size in the sky to be mistaken for it, the craters that dotted its surface were spread out and spread completely different than the natural satellite of Earth. And that's not even mentioning how almost half of the moon had been shattered into countless fragments that were visible in the night sky.

"It's not just that." Godzilla said, his gaze already back on the fire when SpaceGodzilla looked back at him. "The layout of the stars are all wrong, and when I was bringing you here, there were these weird animals of some kind I've never seen before that attacked me. Every instinct in my body is telling me that we aren't on Earth."

SpaceGodzilla would stare at Godzilla for just a second longer before looking back at the moon, looking for any sign that it could've been faked or until his brain properly processed what he was seeing was real. But neither would he find any sign that it was fake or would the sight be any more "real" to him. So left confused and a little frustrated, he would look away from the sight and back towards Godzilla.

Neither of the Kaiju would speak after that, neither seemingly having anything else to say. Godzilla would continue to look down at the fire as it crackled, and SpaceGodzilla staring at Godzilla as if in scrutiny. Eventually though, Godzilla could only let out a sigh before breaking the silence.

"If you have something to say, then say it already."

"You never answered my question as to why you helped me." SpaceGodzilla said immediately, his eyes practically digging into Godzilla to try and find the answer somehow, with a matching intensity and appearance of Godzilla's.

"Still on that, huh?" Godzilla responded with a sigh before answering. "Call it a whim, or maybe even a sense of honor if you have to know. I just didn't like the idea of you waking up on your own, wherever we are, like this. Especially if your powers are acting weird like mine are."

"...You've changed, Godzilla." SpaceGodzilla said after a second of digesting Godzilla's answer. "And I don't mean just your appearance. Twenty years ago, you never would've helped me, and you certainly would've never held back in a fight against anyone, much less me."

At what his cosmic clone said to him, Godzilla would finally look up from the fire to look SpaceGodzilla in the eye. There was a silent stare off between the two, with SpaceGodzilla all but glaring at Godzilla in demand of answers as Godzilla calmly looked back at him. For some reason, that irritated SpaceGodzilla all the more than if Godzilla had actually glared back at him.

"...What gave it away?" Godzilla asked after a few seconds, curious as to how SpaceGodzilla realized he hadn't been going all out during the fight prior to being brought here.

"Because I know how you fight when you're serious, Godzilla! I know better than anyone how you fight when you're serious!" SpaceGodzilla all, but actually roared at Godzilla as he stood up, ignoring the odd feeling of standing on two legs without a tail to balance him as he did. "You barely even flinched at some of my strongest attacks, and you barely even used your Atomic Breath! It's so obvious you held back I don't know how anyone could think you didn't! I just can't even understand why?"

Even as SpaceGodzilla now stood above him and the fire, Godzilla would only continue to stare at him in silence, not even flinching at the display of frustration from Space Godzilla. After a second, he would look back down at the fire. It took another second from him to finally respond.

"A lot has changed since I last saw you, Space-"

"Don't call me that!" interrupted the Extraterrestrial Kaiju, making Godzilla look up in slight surprise to see him practically seething at him.

"Unlike you, I refuse to be given a name by those insects or anyone other than me, especially if it is anything as asinine as that and has me continuously defined by you!"

"...Then what is your name?"

"…What?" asked the currently nameless Kaiju, caught off guard by Godzilla's first response to his declaration. He had expected him to respond to the insult from him accepting the name the humans gave him. Instead, that had gone ignored in favor of the question that had caught him completely off guard.

"Your name. What is it?" Godzilla asked again in a neutral tone. "If you're going to refuse any names given to you by anyone else, that means it's up to you to give yourself."

"I…" the nameless Kaiju said, clearly flabbergasted by the question and unsure how to respond to it. Of course, he could just give Godzilla his name, one he chose himself rather than the one some miniscule insignificant being had given him. However, he had spent so much time denying that name that had been given to him by the humans he hadn't given all that much thought about what name he wanted.

"...You've changed." he said finally, the words coming off as little more than a grumble as he turned toward the entrance of the cave and began to walk away. He felt no reason to stay. He had no desire to be friendly with Godzilla, even if in some fit of odd behavior, he had helped and was seemingly being nice to him. "But I haven't. The next time we meet, I will force you to take me seriously, and will defeat you and the rest of your allies-"

"You don't need to worry about them." Godzilla said, interrupting him before he could finish with his planned insults at Godzilla's allies. But unlike when Godzilla had spoken before, there was a sort of tenseness to his voice that surprised his clone as he now glared down at the fire, or what he saw in the fire. "You'll have to settle with defeating me alone. All of them are dead."

The statement surprised and caught the cosmic kaiju off guard, stopping him in his tracks in shock. He couldn't stop himself from looking back at Godzilla either, even if Godzilla continued to look at the fire in front of him, seemingly not paying to him at all. He didn't know what was going through the King of the Monster's head, but he could see that, like his voice just now, there was a tension in his body.

For an instant, Godzilla once again had that familiar anger that his clone recognized from twenty years ago rather than the strange calm that he had, along with something else.

But his nameless clone didn't notice that as a strange and bizarre mixture of emotions began to fill him.

"I-" He would begin to say, only to immediately stop himself with the realization that he didn't know what he was trying to say.

He stayed there for a second longer, before turning around and walking out of the cave without another word, Godzilla making no effort to stop him.

Outside the cave, when he had first laid eyes upon the shattered moon, he had seen the outlines of trees, and now that he exited it, he saw he was in a forest of some kind. Since it was night, most animals were asleep, and especially since they weren't near any kind of civilization, things were mostly quiet. But if he was to strain his hearing he could make out the calling of birds and nocturnal hunters running around in the undergrowth nearby.

Considering the situation, he probably should have found the familiar natural behavior of animals on what was supposed to be an unfamiliar world comforting, to some extent. And he would've. Had it not been for the fact that he was too caught up in emotional turmoil to even notice.

"You'll have to settle with defeating me alone. All of them are dead." Godzilla's words echoed in his head, causing a mixture of emotions that he wasn't quite able to handle to rise in his psyche.

He didn't even know why it was making him feel this way. He hardly knew any of them, and they were all his enemies anyway, so news of their deaths should have made him happy if anything. But instead all he could feel was a heavy feeling and all he could think about was the image of Godzilla staring into that fire with that strange tension and the bizarre way he acted before.

"Damn it…!" Xenilla practically growled under his breath as he very much did not enjoy this whirlwind of emotions, before slamming his fist into a nearby tree, causing it to nearly shatter as it fell.

Some part of him may have noted that he was clearly much stronger than a human, even if he looked like one, but he hardly noticed it, so caught up was he in this odd maelstrom of emotions.

A deep growl would finally catch his attention, breaking him out of his emotional stupor, if only because he recognized the sound as a threat. He would quickly turn towards the direction of the growl to see what it was caused by. Only to be momentarily surprised by the sight of the creature that had growled.

In front of him was a pitch black creature in the vague shape of a canine. It's body was covered in bone white protrusions, including a "mask" with red markings. Yellow, pupiless eyes glared at him as the weird canine creature stood up on its back legs.

"-when I was bringing you here, there were these weird animals of some kind I've never seen before that attacked me." Godzilla's words echoed in his head once again, even as more of these creatures appeared that, he didn't know yet, were known as Grimm Beowolves.

"All of them are dead."

"-alone."

He let out a growl of his own, not one to meet the Beowolf's or one of aggression or warning, but of frustration as his mind refocused on those words against his own will.

"I'm really not in the mood for this." The Kaiju said, mostly to himself, not expecting the beasts that approached to understand him.

One of the Beowolves, bigger than the rest of its pack, would move ahead of the rest of them as they got closer to him. It would rise on to its hindlegs as it picked up speed, pulling one of its forelimbs back prepared to claw at him. However, even as the fearsome beast was about to attack him, the Kaiju hardly reacted.

With a small amount of irritation, the Kaiju would extend his arm out, which caused a green aura of light to suddenly surround the Creature of Grimm, stopping it in its tracks. The Beowolf's eyes would widen somewhat as it found itself unable to move as even it's packmates halted their advance in surprise. The Beowolf would let out a growl as it struggled against the aura that now held it.

But it's captor wasn't worried about it escaping from his grasp. Afterall, even if he didn't have any crystals beyond the ones coming out of his shoulder to power his telekinesis, Godzilla himself couldn't escape from his grasp once he had him in a telekinetic hold. If the King of the Monsters couldn't do it, what hope did a random Beowolf have?

That was the thought that the Cosmic Monstrosity holding him thought anyway. But when he extended his arm out further, to send his captive flying away with a telekinetic blast, orange electricity sparked out from his shoulder crystals and he felt immense mental strain. The sensation not only broke his concentration, it also left him stunned in complete shock at it, breaking his "grip" on the Grimm as the green aura around it disappeared.

"Especially if your powers are acting weird like mine are." Godzilla's earlier words once again echoed within his head as he remembered the failed activation of his powers upon first hearing Godzilla's voice while the Grimm's claws descended down on him.

Had he been in his true form, the Grimm's claws would've met the hard hide of a Kaiju and was more likely to have broken against it than to even left a scratch against his scales. But unfortunately, for a reason he did not know why or how, he was human. So instead of the durable reptilian hide he had known for all his life, the Grimm's claws met little, if any, resistance from the soft and weak skin of a human.

There was a flash of red as the claws easily broke skin, causing blood to spray out, following the diagonal wound across his torso left by the slash. The force behind the slash had also been greater than he had expected from such a creature, enough to take him off his feet and be sent backward. He wasn't in the air for very long though, his back met the trunk of the tree he had hit earlier, the already cracked and damaged tree being broken from the force as most of its upper half fell down in the opposite direction from where he had hit it.

The Kaiju, however, merely fell to the ground, the force of the impact leaving him stunned and without any air in his lungs. He managed to recover in time to catch himself before hitting the ground though, allowing him to stay on all fours rather than fall face first into the dirt. It was a small brightside considering his situation.

But he was hardly focused on that though, he was more concerned by the blood that was falling out of his wound onto the ground below, painting the dirt red. Already, the pain and the loss of blood was making him dizzy, making it hard for him to stay up. He managed not to fall over though, as he tried to gather his thoughts together and think about what happened.

He was such a fool, thinking that his biological powers were going to work the same way after completely changing species. He was an even bigger fool for being so distracted by said change in biology and Godzilla that he didn't even remember how those powers had failed to activate before. He would never make such a mistake normally, but this whole day had been a taxing one for the Kaiju, physically, mentally, and emotionally. So, just the existence of his shoulder crystals were enough to make him think that his powers wouldn't be affected, even as he was now a species that were infamous for being weak and powerless.

"You'll have to settle with defeating me alone. All of them are dead."

"All of them are dead."

"-dead"

"...alo-."

"Shut up!" the Kaiju yelled out, interrupting the echoes of Godzilla's words as his frustration at them and the bizarre feelings they stir within him grew too much, especially as they continued in a life or death situation.

He let out a growl of anger and frustration, at himself, the situation, and the voice of Godzilla in his head, as one of his hands went upward, grabbing the remains of the tree behind him. He would then use that support to help pull himself up onto his feet, leaning against it slightly to help deal with the dizziness and nausea that came with the blood loss and movement. His other hand gently clutching the wound.

The Kaiju displayed no fear, only showing anger and frustration, even as the Beowolf approached him. Gritting his teeth, he glared up at the Creature of Grimm in front of him, even as the thing approached him to finish him off. Some of his own blood dripping from its claws as it moved forward.

Most undoubtedly would've been terrified in the position that he was in, especially considering that there were more Creatures of Grimm behind the Beowolf. But he was hardly "most people", because a Kaiju that was more than used to the feeling of fighting, the pain of being wounded, and the threat of imminent death. And beyond that, if there was anything that he had inherited from Godzilla through his DNA beyond a general appearance, it was that stubborn and unbreakable will.

"I will not die like this, damn it!" The wounded Kaiju turned human and yelled out as he threw the hand that had been holding onto the tree forward to make one last attempt at a telekinetic blast at the Creature of Grimm. He didn't know if it would work, but the wound made things too difficult to focus and risked holding the creature in another telekinetic even if it did work, he knew he would somehow have to fight the other members of the Grimm pack, which would no doubt be enraged at the sight of their leader being thrown back like a ragdoll.

He knew the situation was dire with not much hope for him in his current state, but it didn't really matter to him what the odds were. Whether his powers weren't properly working or not, and whether he was wounded or not didn't matter, he wasn't going to go down quietly. He was going to fight with everything he had, with everything he had.

…But it suddenly became apparent that he wasn't the one that was going to be fighting.

"I don't want to die like this, daddy…"

A sound that could only be described as a roar ripped through the night air, surprising both the Creatures of Grimm and the Kaiju, who didn't even have time to look at where it came from before something letting off an intense azure glow suddenly slammed into the Beowolf leader. The Grimm had no time to brace itself, not that it really would 've helped since he was impacted with enough force to nearly completely destroy the upper half of its body. When the dust settled, what remained of the Beowolf fell to the ground, already disappointing and Godzilla stood where, his eyes and the tips of his hair glowing a bright azure color as he snarled at the surprised Beowolves and stood protectively between them and his utterly shocked clone behind him.

Godzilla had heard his introduction to the Creature's of Grimm. It wasn't very hard for him, his sense had always been very good and the other Kaiju didn't exactly get very far from the cave before the Grimm had arrived. The entire time, Godzilla had been thinking of if he should intervene.

One of the reasons was that he knew that the Crystalline Kaiju was perfectly capable of holding his own in the vast majority of situations. Though that reason had pretty much gone out of the window when it became apparent that his powers were acting up in a similar but worse manner to his own. Something he knew was a likely possibility considering their sudden change of species.

The main reason though he hadn't immediately jumped in though is that his clone hadn't been the only one dealing with an inner emotional maelstrom after their discussion. Not only had stirred a series of memories that haunted Godzilla, but he had been left pondering the words of his clone. Thinking about how much he had changed since the last time he had met, and fought him, as well as why he had even helped him in the first place.

He didn't mind changing as time went on, but it was a prospect that, when confronted by it, inevitably led to self reflection and whether or not he liked the way he had changed.

But his rumination on his memories and how he had changed when the Kaiju let out his cry of defiance at the idea of being killed by these strange creatures. For some reason, it had reminded him of something else. It reminded him of one of the last things Junior had ever said to him on that night.

He honestly didn't even know why it had. The tones, the wording, and the intention of the sentences had been completely different, representing both how different the situations that had prompted them and how different his son and his clone were as people. The only real similarities between them was that they vaguely sounded similar and they had been said by someone related to him somehow that was in danger of dying.

But, that was enough.

"Stay away from him!" Godzilla all but actually roared out at the creatures of Grimm his eyes and hair shone with the light of nuclear energy. It wasn't his infamous roar, but his voice carried the rage and power of it.

For a second, the Grimm had been stunned by the sudden and brutal death of their pack member, its corpse already dissipating into nothingness at Godzilla's feet. Just for a second though, as when it passed, they were quick to meet Godzilla's furious snarl with that of their own growls and snarls. Grimm, after all, only had one mission in life, to kill humans, and it didn't matter to the younger ones if they died or not in the process to accomplish it.

And with that very thing in mind, one of the Grimm took a single step forward, preparing to leap at Godzilla and bite and tear him apart. The lack of fear the Grimm showed may have been considered by some to have been bravery. Those with a functioning mental capacity though, only would've considered it the height of stupidity to have challenged an enraged Godzilla.

As the Beowolf rose up in his leap, he didn't get very far before the ground under Godzilla's feet broke from the force of Godzilla's own leap at the offending Grimm. Propelled from his great strength, he moved with a speed that was almost uncharacteristic of the King of the Monsters, appearing almost as if he just appeared in front of the Grimm. Stunned, the Beowolf had no time to react before Godzilla grabbed it by the face to slam the back of its head into the ground with enough force to completely destroy its skull in a gory fashion, the black liquid that was the Grimm's "blood" splashing up to coat Godzilla in it.

From there, spurred by a rage of Godzilla killing two of their packmates, the pack of Grimm would charge Godzilla, intent on avenging their packmates by ripping him apart. Godzilla, in turn, responded with his own rage as he fought back against them all. All the while, his clone watched the whole thing as it rapidly became little more than a slaughter as the Grimm picked a fight out of their league.

He saw Godzilla immediately take the lower jaw of a Beowolf off with a single hit before bringing the arm back around immediately and taking off the rest of its head, along with a decent chunk of its upper body.

He watched as Godzilla tore off one of their arms, only to use it as an impromptu weapon, ramming it's clawed fingers into the mouth and out the back of the head of another one.

He watched as he then finished off the one whose arm he tore off by slamming his foot down on it, turning the monster into little more than a black liquid stain on the ground, even before it began to dissipate into nothingness.

He watched all of it and more as Godzilla continued to literally tear the pack apart in front of him in shock and disbelief.

It wasn't Godzilla's strength, or even his brutality that left his clone stunned. No, this was how the King of the Monsters fought when going all out, holding nothing back and carried by a rage and desire to destroy everything that stood against him. He didn't fight like a human, with control and technique, he fought like a monster.

No, what surprised his clone was the simple fact that Godzilla could muster this rage for him and fought to defend him.

It was something that went against practically everything that he knew and understood about Godzilla. It was a shock that was on par with the Earth suddenly turning red and purple to what was, or is, to one of his greatest enemies. It completely boggled his mind.

So shocked was he that he barely even noticed as the wound on his torso began to close before disappearing altogether, not even leaving a scar to mark that it had even existed.

When he eventually realized the pain from the wound suddenly stopped and he looked down to see that it was completely gone, leaving only the blood that had stained the lower half of his torso and the hand that covered it. The Nameless Kaiju simply looked down at both for a second longer before putting the hand once again against the spot that had once been a massive wound. There was a small wince at the feelling, as the newly mended flesh was still tender and sore, but there was no reopening of any kind.

Despite himself and the confusion at the situation, he couldn't stop himself from mentally noting that at least his innate healing seemed to mostly be the same despite how the rest of his power seemed to be on the fritz. In fact, it seemed to even be relatively faster. Whether that was because of his smaller size and mass while maintaining the same rate of regeneration or something else, the Kaiju didn't know or particularly care.

He also noticed something else though, as he pushed himself off of the remains of the tree he had used to support himself while he was injured. As he pulled his hand back, he saw that, underneath where it had been, small white crystals that matched the ones that were currently growing out of his shoulders were rapidly growing across the surface of the tree trunk. They certainly didn't seem to grow as large as they normally did, but the fact that they were growing at all had certain… implications.

A sound would catch his attention, making him look back toward the fight.

The area of forest in front of him now resembled more of a battlefield from a war than it did a natural environment that was the home to animals of all kinds. Small craters littered the ground from when the ground wasn't strong enough to properly withstand Godzilla's strength. The rapidly dissipating remains of the Grimm that had yet to completely disappear litterated the area.

Only a couple of the Grimm remained alive, only staying so since they had been farther back in the pack. The brutal displays of Godzilla's strength that he had made out of their packmates had taught them caution and fear of the King of the Monsters. So, they kept their distance from him at what seemed like a safe distance from him. So, Godzilla stood alone in the center of the battered clearing he had made, the remains of his last opponent (read:victim) dissipating next to him as he kneeled, he let out the sound that had grabbed his clone's attention: loud, heavy coughing.

Godzilla tried to repress the coughing as he used his hand to cover his mouth, just as the coughing got bad enough that blood started to come up, covering part of his hand. He growled as the fit ended and he saw this before looking back up towards the Grimm. All the while, unbeknownst to them or his fellow Kaiju, he tried to ignore the burning feeling in his chest.

Despite the unpleasantness of the feeling, it wasn't the first time he had felt it, and it wasn't even close to the worst time he had felt it. But he knew what the burning feeling meant, that his body wasn't properly able to contain all of the strength of the nuclear power. The meaning of it, the memories of the events of the night he had felt at its most intense, and just the general unpleasantness, nothing good was signified by this feeling.

Unfortunately, he had actually been expecting to feel it at some point since turning into a human. His body as a Kaiju was larger, more durable, and was designed for him to contain and produce more nuclear energy than any reactor humanity could ever make, even when he was young. But even then, it had its limits.

A human body, however, was much smaller, weaker, and was in no way able to contain any amount of radiation or energy. It was practically an inevitability that his own power would have this kind of effect on his new body. He knew this, but to have reached such a point so soon?

But the sound of a footstep behind him caught Godzilla's attention, making him turn around quickly, the beginnings of a growl leaving his throat as he expected to see another Creature of Grimm. Instead, however, the rest of the growl died in his throat in mild surprise as instead of seeing the monster he expected to see, what he saw was his clone standing above him. The Kaiju looked down at him with an emotionless gaze as crystals rapidly began to grow out of the ground next to his feet.

Godzilla stared up at the Kaiju in surprise, having expected him to stay out of the fight while he fought, or maybe even run away during its duration. Among the last things he had been expecting was that his injured clone would be standing above him, no longer injured, though still covered in blood, and glaring down at him. All of a sudden, Godzilla felt a flash of deja vu as he saw an image from the first time he had ever met his clone.

But Godzilla didn't get any opportunity to muse on the past, or if he had made a mistake coming to his clone's aid before the Kaiju standing before him would raise his arm, a green light coming off him and his shoulder crystals.

As the green light approached him, Godzilla braced himself for the feeling of the air around him constricting around him as the telekinetic force gripped him. But a second would pass, and he would feel nothing. Blinking a little in surprise, Godzilla would look up, seeing that his clone still had his arm extended out toward him, crystals glowing with power.

Before either of them could say or do anything more a growl came from right behind Godzilla, surprising him and making him turn around to see what had made it. There, he saw a struggling Beowolf that had attempted to attack Godzilla while his back had been turned and had been distracted by the appearance of his clone, only to be restrained by the iconic green aura. It let out more growls as it continued to push against the force restraining it, but like everything else that had ever been in his grasp, it was unable to break free.

A crackle of energy could be heard briefly as the telekinetic Kaiju's outstretched arm tensed. For the third time that night, he would attempt to let loose a telekinetic blast, but thanks to extra power and support of the energy crystals that now grew around him, he would succeed for the first time. Green energy would crackle off of his hand as the air rippled out in front of him before it flew past Godzilla and slammed into the still ensnared Beowolf.

The Creature of Grimm would be sent flying backward, practically being turned into a ragdoll from the force the invisible blast had hit it with. Being hit with it alone had probably been enough to cripplingly injure it, so slamming back first into a tree was all that was needed to finish it off. A sickening crack could be heard echoing across the clearing as the monster's spine was practically turned to dust.

The last remaining Beowolf had watched its packmate be sent flying past it and falling limply to the ground, already beginning to dissipate into nothing. At seeing the final fate of the last member of its pack excluding itself and knowing how outclassed it was by both Godzilla and now his clone, the thought of retreat may have entered its mind. However, before it could really contemplate it, and odd snapping sound could be heard, drawing its attention back in the direction of the two Kaiju-

Only for one of the crystals that had been telekinetically shot at it like a missle to enter its skull, ending it and any thought of retreat, or any thought for that matter.

The now dead Beowolf would fall to the ground as Godzilla watched in disbelief as he fully realized that his clone, one of the worst enemies that he ever fought, had actually come to his aid. It was a concept that Godzilla had never considered to actually occur. And now he was in a similar state of mind as his clone had been when he had come to his aid.

"Xenilla." came said clone's voice, cutting into Godzilla's thoughts and interrupting them.

"What?" Godzilla asked as he looked back to him, not catching what he had said as he forced the thoughts out of his mind.

"You asked for my name earlier. It's Xenilla." the newly named Kaiju repeated, further surprising Godzilla as he looked away, his face turning into a grimace as a hand went to the side of his head. He had suddenly developed a headache similar to but not as intense as the one before. As he waited for it to go away, he left Godzilla to wonder about the meaning behind his name.

In truth, there was none. He had quite literally thought up on the spot based on him simply liking the way it sounded. At face value, that might seem ironic considering he had spent so long denying the name he was known by, and so, one would think that the name he accepted would be one meaningful to him.

But the meaning of the name had never really been the point. The point had been that he simply could not accept a name that had been given to him rather than one that he himself had made. So with that, any name would've been acceptable had he come up with it himself.

Though like he said earlier, SpaceGodzilla was simply asinine as a name and would forever label him a copy of his "father", so it was immensely unlikely he would've ever chosen it off principle.

"Look." Xenilla finally said after the headache had gone away. "I helped you only because you helped me earlier, and I didn't want to owe you any favors. But, it's clear that wherever we are, there's probably no shortage of threats like those things, and that these new forms don't exactly agree with us. Either of us."

Xenilla gestured to the blood that still covered Godzilla's hand from his earlier coughing fit. Godzilla would follow the gesture before frowning as he realized what Xenilla was saying, even as he realized that the burning in his chest had already lessened to the point he could barely feel it anyway. He would look back at Xenilla, probably knowing where he was getting at, but wanting him to say it to make sure.

"...As much as I'm not a fan of the idea, I think it would be for the best for both of us that we, at least until we can find a way back to Earth or get our real forms back, work together." Xenilla said, confirming what Godzilla thought he was going to say before he extended a hand out towards him.

Godzilla stared at the hand in thought as he juggled his options. Well, there wasn't really a whole lot for him to think of. He had already saved Xenilla twice, once when they had first woken up here and the second just now with the Grimm, for no real reason or any expectation of him returning the favor, so there wasn't much of a question that he was willing to work with him. And on top of that, Xenilla was right that Godzilla's new body didn't really agree with him, and if he was going to reach the point he had every time he fought for even a few minutes, it was a good idea to have someone watch his back when he did.

"...Alright then, I guess we have a deal… Xenilla." Godzilla said as he took the other Kaiju's hand, accepting both the assistance to get back up on to his feet and the alliance that he had offered for the foreseeable future, however long that would be.

Kiryu, for lack of a better term, "woke up" feeling like shit.

He resisted the urge to groan before realizing that his batteries must have died while he was "sleeping". Something that was confirmed when he tried to check the status of it, only for his HUD to not even come up. An event that only happened when he was completely out of any and all energy.

"Zilla, do you remember what kind of Dust I ate last?" Kiryu asked, grunting a little as he fought through the heavy feeling of his body to push himself into a sitting position.

"Ice, I think, or an offshoot of it at least." Zilla said from where she was sitting nearby, recognizing the tone of voice of her traveling partner and going to look through the small bag she had with her to see what Dust they had. "How low are you?"

"Out. Completely." Kiryu said, making a mental note for now on the effectiveness of Ice based dust when it came to keeping his battery charged, or rather, the lack thereof.

"Wow. I thought you completely shut down when you were asleep, so how did you even run out of energy?" Zilla asked, pulling a small vial of yellow dust out and handing it to the robotic Kaiju.

"I had a few programs running, so I was more in a Rest mode than sleep. Guess it was enough." Kiryu explained, using his thumb to pop the vial open, pouring the powdered dust into his mouth, immediately feeling better as he could feel his energy being recharged.

It hadn't been very long after first arriving in this world that Kiryu had run into the issue of his battery running out, a problem he's had since the creation of his body. It's gotten better over the decades thanks to various upgrades he's received to help solve that specific issue. But it was still a major problem, and something he was always going to have to face eventually.

Luckily though, since arriving on Remnant, not only has his battery life seemed to extend a little bit, if only because it no longer cost him so much simply to exist (though that was offset by the fact he was now constantly on), and he no longer would shut off upon his battery dying. The reason for this, he theorized, was the existence of aura, the physical manifestation of a living being's soul, which he apparently counted as despite being a long dead Kaiju possessing a machine body. He wasn't complaining though, not when it allowed for enough passive energy for him to move his body and operate.

That didn't mean it was a pleasant experience to run out of battery just because he could still function on a basic level. Not only did he lose a large chunk of his combat functions, along with the ones he did keep weakening to a significant degree, but it also gave him the equivalent of a full body ache and made it almost a struggle to move. Luckily for him though, there was a well spring of easy to access power for him to use: Dust.

He wasn't a hundred percent sure what it's properties were that allowed for it to have so much power, not having the proper equipment or knowledge for him to properly study it, but the people of this world had been using it for hundreds of years so he supposed it was safe enough. It had taken a few minor upgrades to himself in order to more effectively use and properly intake the Dust, which had been a little difficult to do but was accomplished with some assistance from Zilla.

He was still testing which kinds of dust were better than others though, and now Kiryu believed he had found the worst one. Not that Ice dust being particularly inefficient at fueling him was all that surprising, considering that ice by its very nature came about in a low energy state. It was just like how lightning or electricity dust was the best for fueling him.

"So, what were these programs you had running?" Zilla asked as Kiryu swallowed the last of the lightning dust, allowing for his eyes to start glowing once again.

"I was finishing up getting our tickets to Vale and signing up for the Beacon entrance exam this year." Kiryu answered, not missing how Zilla's mood seemed to have soured at the mention of the school and the prospect of them going to it.

"Ah." Zilla let out before continuing, there being a certain undertone to her voice that Kiryu didn't miss. "So that's the one you think would be the best for us to go to."

"...Yes it is.." Kiryu said simply after a second.

He knew that the subject was a touchy one for Zilla. Even after knowing the truth of what happened and having three years passed, she still hasn't even come close to forgiving humanity for what they did. She could still barely even tolerate being in a village like the one they were at currently.

Kiryu could hardly blame her either, considering that, no matter what the reasons were, her children were still killed in front of her. He knew that going to one of the schools was probably going to be rough on her, but he knew it was probably the most likely way they were going to find a way back to Earth. She knew that too, so he hoped that she was able to get through it.

"Atlas academy was out of the question nearly immediately, just due to how they run things almost like the military, even if they are the most advanced country, I know it wouldn't mesh well with you. Shade Academy was on the opposite end of the spectrum since Vacuo is well behind the other three kingdoms thanks to its history and its students are known to not really like those from other kingdoms, which would've made it difficult to make any connections that would've been helpful. So between Beacon and Haven, I went with Beacon since they have a track record of having greater student freedom and privacy, and it is something of a middle ground between Atlas and Haven."

Zilla didn't give a verbal response, simply grunting in acceptance of Kiryu's explanation as to why he chose the school they would go to that he did. She went back to looking through the bag that contained all the dust that they had. All the while, Kiryu kept an eye on her to make sure she was alright.

Of course, to more properly blend in with humans she had gotten a proper set of clothing for her to wear. She had little choice to since, despite her general dislike for humans, for the longest time, she was the only one of the two that was properly able to interact with them. Afterall, when they first arrived, all Zilla had to do was put on clothes to look like a normal person while Kiryu would still always look like a machine no matter what outfit he put on.

Her hair had grown a little longer, but since she didn't care enough about it to take care of it beyond cleaning it, it grew to be messy and almost out of control. Strands of hair would clump up together to give it a "spiky" look with the clumps going in every direction possible. Zilla made no attempt to tame them or at least made them all face the same way in at least an attempt to get them organized, only messing with them in any way to push them aside when they got in the way of her vision.

The outfit she had decided to wear consisted mainly of a tracksuit-like jacket that matched the color of her hair and hugged her leaner build but was only zipped up halfway to reveal an undershirt that was a slightly lighter shade of gray. She had a cloth of a matching color to her undershirt wrapped around her neck, covering her shoulders and overlapping and covering with the collar of her jacket. She also had a pair of pants that matched her jacket that ended just before the top of her gray and green shoes.

"How do I look?" Kiryu asked after a second, breaking the silence and making Zilla look back up at him. "Everything still look the same?"

"... I don't see anything that strikes me as wrong. As far as I can tell, you look human enough." Zilla said with a shrug after looking Kiryu over.

Kiryu looked at her for a second longer before looking off to the side, where a mirror was located in their hotel room. He had an odd feeling as he saw his reflection looking back at him, still not quite believing it was him. He was so used to the machine looking back at him that it was going to take some time to actually see an organic being look back at him.

That wasn't to say that he had been magically transformed back into a living breathing being and wasn't still a machine beneath it. However, his appearance no longer reflected that.

Their greatest obstacle if they were going to go to one of the schools was that it would've been impossible to hide Kiryu's true appearance and nature for very long. Mainly because unlike with the villages they went to, Kiryu wouldn't have been able to hide under a thick silverish hoodie, a face mask, and the pair of yellow tinted sunglasses that currently rested on his forehead, as those would never be allowed under any of the uniform dress codes of the academies.

And those three items did indeed make up the vast bulk of his wardrobe, only missing the heavy dark gray pants that were tucked into the black and silver combat boots, and the black undershirt he usually had to complete it. He may change it soon, since the main reason he had it was mainly to hide his appearance and keep his nature as a machine needed, but that was unneeded now thanks to the fact that, while searching through Remnants internet, he had gotten lucky.

Granted, he had already been lucky enough as it had been to get a clear connection to Atlas in the first place, but that was hardly the end of his good fortune that day. He had gone on a bit of a journey to look for any information or project that could be in any way useful to him and Zilla when he had stumbled upon a goldmine. Apparently, a company under the Atlas Military had managed to develop life-like artificial skin, eyes, hair, and all the things a cybernetic being needed to blend in with normal people.

He hadn't been interested in why they did, though he saw that the official reason they had at least was to help those who had lost limbs and other body parts better blend with the everyday populace. It was believable enough to where Kiryu was least willing to buy it, and he was satisfied enough merely finding it, so he hadn't looked any farther in. Although he also wasn't naive enough to think that it wasn't unlikely there was another, more militaristic reason for the project, especially given the funding that it had been receiving.

It had taken some minor changes to his hardware in order to properly use the new additions, most notably a complete replacement of his eyes, and it also hadn't exactly been easy to make enough artificial skin and hair to properly cover him. Zilla had helped where she could, such as sneaking into facilities with the equipment necessary to make it, and helping him make the necessary changes to his body that he wasn't able to do on his own. With how much work it all took, it was little wonder why Zilla described the whole endeavor as "a massive pain", but Kiryu knew even she couldn't consider it a waste of time.

Not when what looked like a normal human stared back at Kiryu as his reflection.

It wasn't perfect. The pigment in the artificial skin looked a tad off, making him look a few shades away from an unhealthy pale, but nothing not enough to be off putting for most. They also hadn't been able to properly color his hair, the result of a close call with the security of the facility they made use of to do so. However, in this world of animal people and natural hair colors that would be at home in an anime back on Earth, the sight of naturally silver hair probably wouldn't be too big of an issue, especially since it was fairly short anyway.

The biggest issue was his eyes, which still gave off a slight glow at all times for reasons Kiryu couldn't quite figure out yet. It certainly wasn't an intended effect of them if the blueprints he had used to make them was anything to go off of. They weren't that big of an issue though, the glow practically being a nonfactor in normal light.

But it would still probably be a good idea to keep the sunglasses he had in the event he ended up in a room with someone else that was dark enough for them to see it.

When he was done looking over his reflection, satisfied with his appearance, Kiryu would look back at Zilla. She had returned her focus back to their bag once again while he wasn't looking. Even though Kiryu knew she had more than time to have gone through its contents at least three times over by now.

"...You know why we have to do this." Kiryu said with a sigh, or at least imitating the gesture since he didn't actually breathe at all. "It's the-

"-Best way of easily getting money and possible connections to help us while being on the lookout for other Kaiju, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. I've heard it a dozen times by now." Zilla interrupted in exasperation. "That doesn't mean I have to like it though."

"I'm not asking you to." Kiryu said, frowning a little. "I'm just asking you to trust me and try to bear with it."

A silence would once again fill the room as Zilla would not give a response to Kiryu. And during that time, Kiryu's frown would only deepen. He would finally get up from off the side of the bed he had slept on to move closer to where Zilla was. Once he was close enough, with a bit of hesitation, Kiryu would reach out over to put his hand on her shoulder in a comforting fashion, but Zilla would get up herself, moving out of his reach just before he could.

"I'll go along with it, just not happy about it, but the faster we get back to Earth and the faster I'm back to normal, the better." Zilla said, still not looking back at Kiryu as she began to walk towards the exit of the room. "I'm going to go pay for the room last night. Be right back."

Zilla didn't wait for Kiryu to give her a response before walking out of the door, leaving him alone in the room. Kiryu would look at his hand for a second before lowering it and letting it fall onto his lap. He knew better than to go after her to make sure she was alright with everything, so he would let her go be by herself to unwind a little. The mechanical kaiju would then test whether or not a being with no lungs or organic matter to really speak of outside of bones could exhale or not as he let out a sigh.

This was probably going to be a long set of four years if this was how Zilla was acting just thinking about having to go to Beacon…

"Can you stop messing with your collar so much?" Xenilla asked, looking up from his scroll towards Godzilla.

"It's tight." Godzilla said in response as his finger pulled at the edge of the collar of his shirt, causing Xenilla to give him an unamused look.

"No it's not. If it was a couple sizes larger, not that I think such a size exists, most of your shoulders would be visible and it would be down to about your knees." Xenilla said, looking back down at his scroll as Godzilla gave a weak growl at his words, but would finally move his hand from the collar of his shirt.

"I still can't believe humans willingly wear this stuff. I just don't see the point." Godzilla grumbled as he took a seat next to Xenilla in the corner of the air ship's passenger hold, the only place in the crowded vessel where the two could find any privacy.

Godzilla may no longer absolutely despise humanity's existence like he had in the past, but he still didn't care to be around them that much. Xenilla wasn't exactly very fond of them at all either. It was for the best that they kept to themselves for the most part.

"Oh, there are plenty of reasons. Helping to regulate body temperature depending on the climate, and privacy being the bigger ones. And apparently having to wear them is enough to bring down the mighty Godzilla. I can only imagine what the generals on Earth would think of learning that weakness of yours." Xenilla said, voice heavy with sarcasm after exhaling out the nose in amusement at the thought that, if someone had heard what Godzilla said in the right context, they might assume him to be the alien rather than him.

Well, they were both technically aliens when it came to Remnant, but that was hardly the point now wasn't it?

"Alright, alright, I get it, you can shut the fuck up now, smartass." Godzilla said, grumbling slightly, not in the best of moods to deal with Xenilla's teasing.

"Oh Godzilla, what terrible language!" Xenilla said, making his voice go to a higher pitch as if to mimic something, and causing Godzilla to groan loudly.

"Oh, for fu- whatever cosmic entity or power that allowed you to find out about that must've done it to torture me."

"Whether that was the reason for it or not, that's definitely how I'm going to use it." Xenilla said smirking, notably not answering how he did know that sentence as he usually didn't as he returned to scrolling through his scroll. "What are brothers for after all?"

Godzilla simply let out a grunt at that, not interested in dignifying with a retort or responding in any other way.

A lot had changed between the two of them in the four years that they had been on Remnant. What had once been an uneasy alliance between two enemies in a strange situation had ended up becoming a bond between the two. Godzilla wasn't really sure when exactly the change had happened, but he knew that Xenilla had gradually become less and less hostile before after nearly two years together, he had started to call him brother.

The specific title struck him as a bit odd since, if Xenilla was a heavily mutated clone of him, didn't that technically mean he was Xenilla's father?

It didn't really matter to him all that much though, especially considering that he never raised Xenilla so the relationship of father and son didn't feel right to him. So he supposed "brother" really was the best suited term for them after all. Not that he really minded it either way and didn't give it much thought.

Their relationship wasn't the only thing that had changed either, since their appearances had also undergone some form of changes. Mostly thanks to the addition of clothes unlike when they had first come to Remnant. And in which the two "brothers" had diverged in terms of style.

Xenilla had gone for a "nicer" look overall, his longer hair having been tamed and combed back straight and even all the way down to his lower back. He had on a trench coat of a similar shade of blue to his hair, but was lined and highlighted in a maroon color that matched the inside of the coat, as well as the T-shirt he wore underneath it. Said T-shirt was also neatly tucked into a pair of pants that matched the shade of blue of his jacket into a pair of navy blue boots that had maroon centers.

The only thing that really contrasted the sleeker but normal look was his trademark shoulder crystals, which poked out of neatly cut out holes that were wide enough to show some of his skin underneath next to the base.

But while Xenilla's clothing wasn't exactly tight, it still hugged his form enough to give a decent idea of his build, unlike Godzilla's.

Since he clearly wasn't a very big fan of how clothes felt, Godzilla had opted to go with clothes that were more loose on him, to the point they almost hid his build and nearly came off as baggy. The only thing he wore that seemed to properly fit him was a hoodless, long sleeved, darker gray jacket that covered most of his upper body with a slightly lighter gray shirt underneath it that was clearly a few sizes more than necessary, as it hung off him. Only the front part of the shirt was tucked into his pair of blackish gray jeans that were long enough to cover parts of his gray and black shoes and were held up by a scaled leather gray belt.

And his hair was practically the opposite in every way from Xenilla's other than color. Where Xenilla's hair was long, Godzilla had cut his to be fairly short in comparison, only barely even reaching past the base of his neck. It was, however, still thick enough so that it could form "spikes" that pointed backwards at near random angles, contrasting Xenilla's neater, flatter hair.

Godzilla also had something else Xenilla didn't have: a weapon.

Loosely hanging from his belt from behind was a claymore length broadsword that swung around in a sheath that had the same color and rough texture as his scales when he was a Kaiju. Both sides of it's handguard, which differed from the coloring of the sheath and handle slightly by having a slightly bluish tint to it, were shaped into rough, vaguely maple leaf shapes that pointed out from each other and the blade. It's very style differed heavily from the advanced, metallic weapons that the other students on the ship carried, being more crude and simplistic, but there was no denying it suited him or that it was an imposing weapon nonetheless.

Not he really needed it or used it to fight, or even to be imposing for that matter.

Xenilla looked up briefly from his scroll as the holographic screens that lined the galley of the ship that had been showing the news began to discuss how a protest had turned violent when a group called the White Fang had interfered. The information caught Xenilla's attention, and he put the name of the group to memory. They seemed to be a well known group from the way the news anchor talked about them and they rang a bell to Xenilla from his brief interactions with the people of this world, but he didn't know much about them off the top of his head thanks to him and Godzila mostly living in the wilderness on their own.

Unfortunately, he didn't get much more information about them or the event before the holograms changed from a screen showing the news, to showing a blonde haired woman that would introduce herself as Glynda Goodwitch. Xenilla would click his tongue in slight annoyance at her timing before looking down at his scroll to open a tab to search for the White Fang at another time. As he did, the woman would begin to give a speech to the passengers of the air ship, the potential future students of Beacon Academy, to which Xenilla only vaguely listened to in case she said something important, knowing that Godzilla certainly wouldn't and one of them had to pay attention in case.

"Getting any second thoughts?" Xenilla asked near the end of Glynda's speech, recognizing its nature as little more than a pep talk for the future students. "I get the feeling the point of no return is coming up soon. Best to say if you changed your mind now before you're stuck in a confined area with nothing but humans for the next hundred miles for the next four years.."

"I'm pretty sure the point of no return was getting on this damn hunk of metal." Godzilla retorted in a deadpan tone of voice. "And no, I don't have any. It may not be pleasant but I know you're smart enough that any idea of yours will probably work."

"My dear brother, are you saying you trust me?" Xenilla said, smirking as he teased Godzilla for his choice of words, causing his 'brother' to roll his eyes.

"All I said is I know you aren't stupid."

Before Xenilla could respond to that, or Godzilla could continue, a flurry of activity caught the two's attention. Looking up towards it, they could see people moving out of the way as someone ran past them. The person in question was a blonde boy around the same height as Xenilla with a hand covering his mouth and an arm cradling his stomach as he ran at full speed.

After he had run past and out of sight for Godzilla and Xenilla, both of the two brothers looked at each other with raised brow. Neither of them knew what the deal was with the boy or what to make of it. After a second though, they both simply shrugged before they both went back to waiting in silence for the ship to land at Beacon, neither having very high expectations for what was going to happen.

Though of course, they didn't know they weren't the only pair of Kaiju on that ship. If they did, they might have raised their expectations just a little.

This is a remake of my first story, due to a combination of no longer agreeing with certain things as I did back then, wanting to change things for what I plan to do in the future, and wanting to strangle myself in the past when I look at how I wrote back then. If you want to go back to the first version to see some of the concepts I will be using, go ahead but be aware most of the writing is hard to read at times and a lot of things will be different or taken away entirely.

Edit: Still working on the second chapter, but I realized that the line breaks I had written in weren't transferred for some ungodly reason, so I added them in, sorry about that.
