...
Waiting up outside from the motel room, Vincent spat out the gulp of water onto the ground in order to get the metallic taste out of his mouth. Blood. Which he feared, the more he stuck around the club and with Catherine who might still wear that red necklace around, it's gonna bring more damage. Because coughing out blood, it wasn't such a good sight. Something was wrong.
It's spreading up fast here. The more I beast out, the more it would get worse. And even, if he hold it back from beasting out, it would be even longer and painful. There was no way out of it. He felt even worse after he woken up and walked right straight into the bathroom, while Catherine still soundly slept as he had promised he'd watched over her. Which he did, until this early morning. I beasted out, but only out of adrenaline. She was in danger and I had to do it, or else..The worst scene would have had occured and even if Catherine was a woman who could take care of herself, she was in no position to defend herself from these monsters. Not mentally in a way from the way she crounched down onto the corner like a scared child.
As a carved and thrown dirty slave. After all, she did killed an female hitman who had been hired to get her killed. An female hitman whom had managed to get away from justice, it would likedly spread news everywhere and Tess would be the first to know. Since she was the one who tracked and shot her down without a sweat. And now that she was dead, Cat would certainly explain herself and improvise throughtout the mission unless she wants to blow up her own cover. Or if Àlvarez had heard any about the setup, he'll probably pay Cat or Lina as well not to mention he'll fry his own ass as well. Unless I have to die first. No. He shutted down his eyes and shook his head, fast. He couldn't let that happen even if it was his last sentence to endure. Even if it meant for the woman of his life even if she doesn't love him back. Which it did shattered his heart into pieces by choosing to become a monster by siding up to the dark side even more. If it had been that, then how would he even explain the earlier events?
The night they've shared together and last night as well, when he had rescued her and treated her wounds? Only to leave her the very next day? Despite the way he woke up this morning feeling like his own lungs were about to burst out into fire. Blood had come out and were everywhere down at the sink. Cat must have seen it by now. She was a smart woman, she must have seen something wrong about him going on. Unless, she was ignoring all them here. Cause, if she wasn't, she would have had stopped to wear that damn red necklace by now.
"I've called a taxi to pick us up. Hope you have enough cash on you.."
"Got all covered up, here." He groaned under his breath as he wipped off his mouth over his sleeve. He could feel her eyes staring back at him, strangedly.
"Vincent, are you sure, you're okay?" He could tell she was suspiciously starting to over think about something here. Unless, she must have known about the stains. Bloodstains left into the sink. He should've had cleared off a bit better his fingerprints out of the way.
"I am." He blinked off and turned back to look up at her. Pretty, despite the fact she wore large clothes under the harshing weather. But she did looked better than yesterday, although. "How's your head?"
"Fine. Numb, but it doesn't hurt anymore. Even my burning spots don't hurt any longer." She touched her temple and waved her hand off under his eyes as he watched her do or so. He stood back. His eyebrows furrowed together under wonder.
"Numb? Any blackouts? Nausea?.." But her heartbeat seemed to sound just fine, at least to his ears which it made her form up a smile to her face. That little wrinkle thing appeared onto her nose whenever she did grinned, even if it did looked fake or not, it did looked the same onto whenever she did smiled to him before. Coming from his lost memories and coming from the few he had, he did remembered smile up at him into that way. Which it did made his heart ache at this thought. This feeling. Unforgetting feeling. You need to tell her.. He shut down his eyes, for a second.
Somewhere inside of himself, he still wasn't ready to tell her that he was sick. Awfully sick.
"Here you go, talking up like a real doctor, once again.." She teased him back just like she had done before. The same snicker, as he always remembered back which made him shake a nod. "Vincent?" He snapped back up when his eyes looked back up at her concerned ones. Good, make her worry and let her know that it is serious!
"Can I just be worried about my boss's female hitman's condition?" He sighed back as he folded up his arms against his chest. Close to frustration. "Not to mention, we're about to meet him soon. So we better come up with a good reason of you showing up to ER." Vincent watched Cat purse her lips back as she ran her fingers through her hair bangs giving the thought that she was probably thinking about something. A last good reason to lie if she ever wanted to face Àlvarez, and probably if Lina was behind this settup. She needed to inform Tess about the recent details about the cover up now that she knows that Lina is somehow involved into the case they've both worked together about Su Li way before.
"I've gotten my ass all covered up. I've called Tess and told that she has had the hospital informed and including Medina as well.." Who was Medina, again? Vincent wondered. That name hadn't told him anything but a face might do.
"Who?"
"Medina. That cop from New Jersey, he had agreed to take the plundge onto the cover up case. Mine for cover as an excuse." She had explained when he stepped back, looking a bit intrigued. She shrugged her shoulders back."I don't know how Tess had him convinced to play along, but she must have had hit him a nerve. They'll both show up there." She admitted back as she looked away for a second which had let him know that there was something else that she was holding back from saying to his face.
"Is there something else that I need to know?" He unfolded his arms and put his hands through his pockets as he watched her.
"Probably, there is something else.." She sighed back and whirled back to him."You see. I can't give you much of any detail about it, but he somehow had put up Gabe behind bars. Into Rikers." It stopped Vincent for a second as he tried to adjust the last words coming out from her mouth. He never quite likened the guy ever since he had tried to kill them both, and even if he tried to redeem himself by making up amends to them both, Vincent wasn't quite ready to think or even believe that the ex-beast was becoming a friend. Or maybe more than a friend, with the way the assistant of the DA had grown much more closer to Cat, lately. Vincent hadn't said anything, but he did notice of how Gabe had gotten a little protective over her, and especially when he and Catherine had been against each other. And he didn't liked the feeling of him getting any closer to Cat.
"What?" He cleared up back his throat. How come? How come Gabe had gotten himself locked up? How? Did somebody had made all the link coming back last year's events? However, it was a shock to hear that a such respected guy who had such suspicious and secret and dark background had gotten his ass jailed up for a crime he hadn't committed.
"I don't know what quite happened, but-"
"Why had he gotten up there in the first place?" Unless, like he thought someone had gotten him under track from before and now, that Gabe was out of the way, people would be able to lure him and Catherine as well now. And possibly, that guy with the name Medina was now looking up for more clues.
"For Tyler's murder. He managed to get all the evidence he could get and locked him in.." Only for Gabe's past flame? But it felt more than it already was into stores, at least to them both.
"But I thought it was Reynolds who had made it. After all, he did confessed. You had it recordered and confirmed it to me as a proof." Vincent had admitted back when he recalled back to the moment when the two of them were still against each other after the brutal act she made, he had demanded an recordered tape of Reynolds of him confessing about everything he was involved with. Whatever it was consiracy action, dealing with hiding murders and Murfield. But not Beasts. Unfortunately to his gut. Vincent had wanted him to pay hard for brainwashing him and all those other people whose lives had been perished onto the field, because they were out of control for an action they've decided to volunteer. Himself, included.
He hadn't been satisfied with the result, but it was better than to be exposed. Until, Tori had come up with the idea of making him be the story of the Year. To make him a a sort called hero, to make all suspicion of him being a beast away from the first national news. He could still remember the time when a silent, angered but determinated Cat had shown into his houseboat with a tape recorder and with Reynolds's confession, just a few days after he got released from the hospital. And, thank God that Tori wasn't around during that time cause he actually wanted to be alone with his ex-girlfriend when she dropped the tape recorder onto the counter and made him listen to the tape.
And like he stated back then, it wasn't enough but if it meant to keep his identity hidden or maybe Reynolds had thought he wouldn't have had made until the very next day, it was better than nothing. However, it didn't stopped him from giving Catherine the cold feet of choosing a side than of their relationship. Until, he caught up back the thought that not only Cat had to make a hard decision about them both, but he didn't made anything easier for them both when he fully decided to choose his beast side than of his human side. How awfull he had treated her back then when he was under the dark side of his beast side and with Tori's influence, it just made things worse and to think he was close enough to kill her when she was still into the shower back at the Gentlemen Club. Oh God.
"Yeah. That's what I've thought as well. But, he managed to get into better evidence to lock him up. But that's not only that. Medina has an eye onto me." Cat had admitted back when she folded up her arms against herself from the cold. "Into the both of us.." At this sentence. He could have had felt his heart racing up a bit. What else was she trying to avoid him from saying?
"Like?" He felt for the worse to come up even as she looked back from her shoulder as if she made sure that nobody was watching them back.
"I heard that not only he walked up here for a case, but to finish another one. Another case." She sighed back and closed up her eyes before admitting this. "From the moment when the Federal Bureau Investigation demartement had discovered that I've lied through my testimony." The FBI had been investigating her deep while he hid away like a coward who was wipping off his ass away with his wounds and alone from anyone. And yet, he wondered why she even had the guts to cover and lie for him. If she did. After all, he made her life an living hell, after the sacrificies she made for him to be safe from exposure. When he only had cared for himself and yet had unresolved feelings about her as well. A real mess he had been without her by his side.
"Why, did you?" Vincent wanted to know. Why in the name of any unrealistic matter that she would have wanted to help him from before? And even when he had told her to stop from covering him up. But coming out from her looks, he had known she had been up onto something.
"Catherine?"
"To cover up the action you've almost made; By almost trying to get my father killed and with me shooting you." She breathed out and blinked when her attention came back to him. "A bullet was found back at that day, Vincent. A bullet with blood. Of your own blood." And then, it just clicked to him. The authorities had tried to expose her lies which she kept denied and that they were wrong with the evidence they had. She did lie for him. Oh God.
"And you had to lie." He remarked back with understatement when she nodded. "You had to lie, because of me even if I've told you to give up onto covering up for me."
"I did." She frowned back as her eyes were looking down at the shoes he had let her borrow.
"Why?" He wanted to know, once again.
"Cause, even if we have had broken up back then, I didn't wanted you to be in anymore trouble that you were in. Even if a part of me wanted to, it wouldn't have been fair to you or to me.." His hardened features had softened back to her confession. She didn't wanted him to found not even onto his dying request. She wouldn't have wanted to happen anyways. No wonder when Tori had told him what had happened when she and Cat had been attacked back the hidden shop. She said that Cat had no badge or gun onto her belt or to protect herself from the people who tried to kill them before. She had gotten tracked into a lie and gotten suspended because of it. Because she lied and kept her version still despite the federal agent pushing her to tell him the truth.
"And you think with that cop investigating you and me. Both. It may jeopardize our telling of the truth and to lure me into more trouble." Exposing him for what he truly he was and explaining why Cat had covered up and lied for him.
"But who had helped you out? To get your badge back, if you don't mind me asking-"Still frowning, Cat had rose her head back up to him.
"I think, it was Gabe." And when he gave her a weird look, she waved him off with an annoyed sigh. "Don't ask me how he had done it, I wouldn't want to know if he falsified an evidence to save me, but it didn't stopped the agent from getting back at me, even if he was taken off the case because he was getting into it, personally if you know what I mean. And if from what Tess had told me before, Medina was sent to finish off a case of what Special Agent Hendricks had tried to succeed before." Oh Damn.
"Hendricks?" He never had heard that name until a flashing thought had came up to him. He heard somewhere that a certain cop had been sent by his precinct to work close at some case, luckily to be Tyler's and may have had a certain link into an FBI Agent to stop somebody close to him and it was right away before he joined up forces with Ash when two female bodies were digged out from graves and from the way he felt weird afterwards when they were both laid onto the table. He had started to get sick but for what reason? He had no idea and yet the gem seemed to make him feel worse. Unless, they've caught it first..Both Alicia and Helga..
No. It couldn't be true. There were no other beasts around the corner, anymore.
"The Special Agent that had interrogated me, but heard he joined up the Internal Affairs." Cat had followed back which had awakened him up from his memories. "He figured out that I've lied throughtout the entire recording but all charges were dropped when the bullet wasn't a match, but I believe it had been Gabe's doing. If he hadn't walked in, you and I would have been into trouble. Myself suspended and with you being discovered by the authorities, and who else? Maybe Murfield or people that wanted to get back at beasts." Maybe. There's always gonna be somebody to go and chase him. It's never gonna stop despite no matter how hard they try to keep it calm and away from anybody. No wonder, Cat had told him to keep it down when he and Tori were showing off around TV shows, charities and playing any showning off Hollywood couple. He understood a bit better now and the threat would never stop to worry him off.
"You said, Murfield was gone.." Vincent had followed up back with a warning tone throughtout his voice. And much sacrifices she had made for him to be protected from any harm. Despite bearing an such hard attitude, her heart was gold enough and pure and graceful to even be able to protect him from any exposure, and even despite it had been broken from his choices. Selfish choices.
"I know, but after that J.T. had gotten kidnapped and with Tori whom had almost gotten herself killed, I believe there might be other people out there as well." Much like the gem. Rebecca's gem who was deep down buried away. However, the red gem, it was a different thing. It was poweful force to get and kill any beast. What if Àlvarez was involved into it? What if there was more into it, than of an domestic violence case? There's more into it through the air. No wonder Catherine walked up into undercover mood. In order to know more and focus onto something else than beasts, or maybe other than having him torture her mind. But he did needed to come clear with the situation he was dealing with. Telling her about the gem about being an easy target to it. Even if it means by dying. Dying. Oh God.
"Vincent, you got quiet.." And had remarked he was alone with his thoughts. Deep thoughts. He turned his attention right back to her and shook his head. He really believed his heart had stopped from beating once he looked back onto her beautiful features. He couldn't do it.
Just. Not yet.
"I won't say anything to him.." He pushed his voice out as if it had been such an hard struggle. When it strucked Cat as she had been surprised. To see him come out determinated.
"Vincent, you just can't-" Cat pushed him back but he shook his head, once again. If she had lied before to the authorities, he could do the same as well. Well, as long it's not an FBI Agent, unless he wanted to have a record under his head and his ass exposed.
"I sure can. Nobody knows about how we are..I mean nobody knows.." He looked back down at his feet, by breathing deeply through his nose. At least, he wasn't bleeding from his nose, he thought back. He did say it, or so to convince himself. Both of them. Nobody had known about them, so there was no risk to be discovered that the two of them had been an item, once.
"Maybe nobody, but the people who were watching us the other night might.."
"The other night? What in the hell, you've meant by.." He looked back at her when she gave him that look to watch up with his words he was about to say. Until the thought had come along. That night, when they were into the influence of something had been recorded on live unless, the cops had managed to shut down everything. Or did they? Hadn't they caught up with Cat's abduction? They might be as well. Her people might be looking out for her.
"Oh Crap.."
"I know..We weren't alone that night." Catherine breathed back onto her words."No, we weren't..Cause if it gets to online, we'll be screwed both of us. My cover and yours."
"For sure..It'll be ugly." He followed back with a nod. "It was an idea from the precinct to patch up the cameras around the club?"
"Mostly, at the basement section and onto the bedrooms to keep track. It wasn't my idea, though, but them.." Cat shivered back. "And Dana had agreed to be part of the undercover mission, but mostly after we've had helped her after Sam had tried to kill her."
"And blew us off, let me remind you.." Vincent had concluded back with a groan. "She thinks she owned a lot about us saving her and wants to make a few paybacks, even if it meant to help you out onto a case. Like solving Lena's. Your friend's last wish." It just slipped out of his mouth as she looked back at him as if he had grown out another head.
"She's not dead, yet. So, we better hope it won't come up to it. I really hope for." Her voice had gotten a little angrier than it had should've. However, Vincent even wondered if she had the chance to come and see her friend, lately even with her undercover job. Unless, she wanted Àlvarez to find his wife.
"You haven't seen her. Haven't you?"
"I couldn't. Been busy onto seducing her soon ex-husband and with the girls around, and especially Lina around for more." Cat blinked back at the realization."I'd probably watch Lina at better close more." And especially after she had been settup back from herself because she wanted Cat to learn a lesson when it came to hurt Vincent, or the way she had treated Eva before with an extreme torture that had horrified Vincent. He still had shivers when he watched her hurting and hearing Eva scream in such and terrifying agony. Which still haunted him now.
"And Lena around?" Vincent had remembered that her status hadn't looked up too good, and despite having the best doctors around, Vincent really had no idea on how long Lena would overcome her injuries. And if she was ever coming out of her comatose state. Might never. He thought Catherine had heard about it, the better it'd be if she ever has to come into terms if Lena might stay like this forever, or might die with the secret. Secret of where she had sent her daughter away. Catherine got a little quiet and inhaled and exhaled, deeply as her eyes went back to him as her fists went onto her waist.
"What about?" She frustrally asked back, without she even noticed onto how her voice sounded, emontionelly. She had been so into the case and tried to get into the hitman's bussiness and to go deep onto Àlvarez's attitude in order to bring him down. But hadn't expected to go deep down like losing a part of herself in. But like, she had promised to Tess, she'll try to stop him and get out of the case in a month. Not another. But to make him speak out the truth in just a month? Other undercover jobs had taken more months or even more years for any cops to succeed.
"Your friend. Ever heard about her?" Vincent grumbled back at her attention when she rose her palms up as a self defeat. A lot had been happened lately, that the thought of her friend had been slipped away from her mind.
"Any changes, you've heard, lately?" Cat wondered back when Vincent looked back around when she did looked anticipated."Vincent?"
"Not much. Doctors and nurses are wondering if it's the best to sent her into life support by now." He admitted back as her eyes widened into shock and stepped back from a few steps away. Good. He had gotten her attention and he deeply wished whe woken up from her nonsense thinking for a second. "Unless, you want them to reach out for any family relatives." He followed back when she almost exploded out of nowhere into the street where the two of them were standing and waiting for the stupid taxi to show up here.
"You know that I can't! She sent her daughter away to which country? Hell, I don't even know!" She exclaimed back helplessly to his reaction. Unless, Child Services were trying to lock Lena's daughter around or that someone would have had called up to turn themselves out to authorities from USA. Tess should probably know by now. Lena had fooled her around at the invastigation room and just a few hours before her attack. Cat really had no idea to where Lena's daughter had been sent. Probably to a close relative and away from harm. From Àlvarez and from whatever he was doing while she had been under Gretchen's identity.
"You do know you can't protect her from forever." He shook his head in defeat. The more she'll keep onto going this way, she'll get into much deep trouble. Not only after Lina had tried to teach her a lesson, but who knows what else?. "Someday, the truth would come out."
"I know. But, at least I am able to keep onto trying." So, it would go to where? She definitely didn't wanted to give up, either way. Knowing how sturborn she was, Cat wouldn't want that to come out and letting anybody telling her otherwise.
"You still don't wanna give up on her.." He clearified.
"Giving up is not a word that comes up into my volcabulary, Vincent. The best thing I can do for Lena is to give her some justice that she had tried so hard to get when nobody had listened up to her." She admitted back from the deep down of her heart. She folded her arms against her chest and glared up at him as she approached up to his height."Pretty much like someone that I know here."
"That was different and you know it." And this is where he also gave her the same glare back to her face. He watched walking back to his height, probably thinking they'll have to go through this mess all over again, and once more. However, Vincent was patient enough to take her crap as much like she had before.
"How much different? You mean, when you were trying to go onto executioner and thrive for justice when you thought that nobody could give it to you. Like you've lost your trust onto me and to follow an uncontrolling selfish bratty bitch, like an certain red head that I know. That we both know."
"That's too bad that you're thinking like that." Vincent had replied back to her. Knowing it did hit him a nerve deep down. Maybe, he did deserved the hate and the loath she gave him back, but he had never questionned her trusting into him. Or hasn't she? Maybe, after the shooting. When she had shot he did understood better now. And now that he was away from Tori's anger influence, he could think and make his choices much more as a free man would do now. "I never did stopped onto trusting you. I got distracted, true, but had never stopped onto trusting you or losing your trust." But it did hurt him to know that she thought he was incapable of making the right decisions, like he used to.
"And how are you gonna prove that?" She scoffed back at his face.
"By not saying a damn thing to that cop. I'm willing to do that. If you had lied to cover up my ass, then so I would." He answered back, sturbornly as it sounded.
"You can't promise me that, Vincent. You know you can't." Who said he couldn't? He knows how to make them, but would he be able to keep his word? She had managed to keep the authorities away from him but now with him being exposed as a war hero, it was a different way to solve. Cause, if he was found caught into a lie, it'll cost him not only his humanity, but his freedom to live as a free man.
"Ohh, I sure can.." He swore back."And even better; I can promise you that." And with that, he whirled around as he walked a few steps away to look up for the taxi. If the car was about to show up or not. However, what came up next to his hearing, his beating heart didn't expected to happen.
"Like the blood I've found onto the sink? Would you call it a lie?" It stopped him for a second. Which made him turn around to stare back at her glance, her features weren't the ones that had gotten him spooked, but her voice did. If she wanted to talk about coming out clean, she picked up the right moment. Even if it wasn't the perfect place to do it or so.
"What?"
"The blood. There was blood all over the sink back at the motel room. You were there first-" Now, that was just it. But, the truth would have to wait for another time though. He certainly didn't wanted to use it as an excuse. If she decided to live in a lie so can he. However, the lying thing under record is kept under the pact. Even if she made him annoyed as he groaned into frustration mood.
"What? You've expected to wake up and found yourself into an expensive hotel room? After the horror we've both witnessed, from last night? Give me a break! The motel is even way more old than you think!" Vincent got a little over angrier to her surprise."Wake up a bit, Catherine!" But with the way he had prounounced her name way louder than he expected, it almost made her jump through her skin. But slipped out a surprised gasping sound out after she lifted her hazel eyes back to him, grunting into pain when he brought up his hand towards his chest as he almost crounched over. He closed his eyes shut when the shivering pain penatrated him, so suddenly.
"Vincent!-"
"Don't!" He breathed back by helding up a hand towards her direction when he felt her approaching to his direction.
"But you-you are-" She tried to answer back to defend herself when he waved her away. He didn't need her worry when she tried to win onto her argument and push all the blame onto him as if everything had been his fault. Which, it actually was. Vincent shook his head.
"I'm okay.." He blinked up back as he tried to focus onto his visions and wanted the black spots to go away. Unless, he'd go blind in any minute. Calm down, Vince! He rose back onto his full height and breathed deeply in and out. It was getting worse and even if Cat wasn't wearing that necklace, it was still making its way in and he did beasted out last night, which hadn't helped much either. Whomever was that guy on that phone with Cat's boss, was right. It's getting worse as much if I keep onto beasting out.
And Catherine had seen the blood left onto the sink, which meant that she might know that something is wrong about him. He shouldn't have had exploded like that, the more angrier he'd get, it'll go out of hand.
"Don't worry, I'm alright..I, actually have-" Really? It wasn't the proper moment to spell out the guts out of his chest and yet, he almost tried to say it out loud here! And there she was, waiting for him to tell whatever bothered him or what made him feel irritated.
"Catherine, I-" He tried to reply over again until a beeping sound coming out from a car was heard coming from his direction. Their direction. The taxi. That stupid taxi had finally decided to show up his ass over here and from the same moment when he was about to spit out his feelings or the truth and coming out from the stains over the sink. Should've he had felt some relief or some disappointement, over it?
"Looks like the cavalary had finally decided to come over, at the same moment when you've tried to say something here.." Catherine had announced back to much of her disappointement.
"They always do that. Just like into the movies.."He snorted back into defeat when the taxi moved closer to them. And coming from the window, he could tell from the taxi driver's face that the guy looked like he was sorry as he had lifted up his palms up for an answer. Even if the guy looked like he was into his fifties and barely slept because of the job's own demands. An old man with dark and grey highlights hair and with clothes that Vincent assumed his own patient wife had always been ironed for him. The guy had pointed over to the backseat stated that the door was open for them both.
"Guess, it's time to put up some act to it." Vincent sighed back and shrugged out his bag down onto the ground and slipped off his coat to put around onto Catherine's shoulders which it did took her by surprise. It was the least, he could do for now.
"Vincent, seriously?"
"What? I have beast coverage here. You don't. And besides, I have to protect my protègé here from the cold, until we get to the hospital. And where Àlvarez works now." Vincent explained back as a lame excuse. He wasn't Jacob Black, from Twilight. Cause if he was, he wouldn't be shivering at the moment now. And there he was, trying to sheild and protect her from the cold as his hands went onto each side of her arms and down of her waist. After he made sure she was comfortable with his coat, his eyes shifted back up to her eyes as they longed over hers for a short moment as if they wanted to tell her something, he desasperately wanted to, until he pulled back away before he get himself lost onto them.
Much like his heart had been, for a very longtime.
"Vincent, are you sure, that there isn't anything else; that you'd like to tell me?"
"It can wait." He responsed back as he opened back up the door and looked back to her with a sober stare."Now, let's get going to your boss and tell him whatever you want to say to his face." And without waiting for her to answer back, he grabbed her arm and rushed her inside to the car onto the backseat under her widened stare look as he crounched down to get his paperback and slid down onto the seat next to her and shut the door. He waved out the address of the hospital to the driver and the taxi driver put up the engine. But he couldnm't shake it out Catherine's perplexed stare, when he turned his stare back at her, trying to look as assuring as he wanted to be.
"Don't worry about me. Like I told you, it can wait. Just focus onto what you're about to tell Àlvarez, and assure Tess."
"I don't know, there's Medina as well." Cat wasn't certain that she would likedly get rid of the other cop away, but for Vincent, it didn't matter. As long they stick up to the plan, everything would be fine.
"Try to be as normal as you can. It'll probably cut the guy some loose and he'll focus somewhere else." Still, he tried to assure her, even when the female cop kept onto pushing here.
"And you?" What would he do? Into this mess? If Cat had to go all smooth with Àlvarez, therefore Vincent should try to go through with Lina, unless the barmaid had something else under her sleeve which he needed to make sure.
"I'll deal with Lina. Especially, when the girl has a crush about me and tried to get you out of her way because of me." He gave her a nod and turned away his reflection towards the window. Something about Lina irritated him when she tried to eliminate Cat because of the monster she had become. Or that's what Lina though or maybe he did as well. Hopefully not. Keep onto believing the possible, here Vince. There's still hope for Catherine. She's not a monster. Crap. No. It wasn't because of that. It was because Lina had gotten jealous because of the feelings he still felt over Cat and not for her. And because of her disease status, she couldn't have a relationship with him but it made her feel envious whenever he was around other women much like Cat. No wonder, Lina hired an hitman to kill her. Kill the hitman Cat, not only because of the treatement she made the girls endure, but for the man she could never have. Pretty much like him when he could never have the woman he claim to love forever. Even if it meant for him to die for.
...
Damn, she felt like she needed a drink and even if it was at early dawn. She'll do anything to wash away her fears. Frightened fears away. From the corner of the bar she held on onto, Lina was still shivering in fear from the earlier events and from Virgina's threat that she was gonna get revenge one way or another. Su Li was dead and that was because of Aya's own fault, and only after she had discovered who Aya's real identity was.
What identity? Does that mean, that Eva's conclusion had been real? Meaning, that she wasn't making this up?
Oh God. If she had been tricked from day one, she would have had noticed but she didn't. And yet with Eva who was still being unresponsive here, it wasn't much of any use anyways. Unless, Olga or Natasha could always talk up for her. Even Anna as well. After all, she managed to sneak away from getting punished and from being punished like a coward. Oh Crap. Well, she did had an alibi which meant to be an mobster's date as for Aya and Vincent to be chaperones, which had been a sittup by Eva and knowning she could get punished from tricking them onto thinking that she was somebody that she wasn't. Lina cursed back as she inhaled deep down to calm herself down from the fright. She wipped the sweat from her cheeks until she realized that sweat were in fact tears falling onto her cheeks. What, tears? How come it was possible? She had never cried not even when her traditional parents had thriown her down onto the streets with nothing! And yet, there was here and crying like a child! Deep deep breaths..Lina pushed herself away from the counter and stepped away as she made her way and away from the dancefloor to the hidden basement as each of her high heeld were the only ones who made the only living sound.
But it was mostly, her own heartbeat that was taken its thunder for her ears.
How the hell was she gonna get the money in a week? It was just impossible! Su Li should have been here if this incident hadn't happened and would have had talked things with her, but couldn't be anymore and that was because of Aya. How to even get the money when she was the one who needs it and especially when it comes to medications and AZT doses. Which it did cost alot unless Àlvarez was paying or borrowing them from the hospital.
Think, think, Bitch! Just think! Just what would you do? Talk to Olga and make sure that whatever she had just said she would be paying for the bitchtalk she made herself to be. Cause unlike her, an very good actress much like Nadia managed to look like the poor and obidient puppy of her time before she left the club with her knight armor man and somehow, Olga wasn't exactly following up the same tracks but still looked like a threat. Much like Nadia had been a threat when she wasn't following up the rules. And the next thing had happened. She later vanished away with her man by leaving Esperanza half dead once. Not a word from Nadia, at all. Esperanza who've had taken orders until Aya had walked in hadn't said much but only had escaped away from the view and from everyone else, unless she gotten caught by the authorities. She always had whinned about going to Denver or Colorado once she was rich enough to get out of here. Everything looked damn fine before Ayaka stepped in.
Before this psycho slut came in.And especially when she had Vincent's heart into her own hands. It was blind love and the way Ayaka was toying him around like a puppet. A beast puppet. With the way his eyes glowed in anger towards her, it did freaked her out. Cause if he decided to stay here, he'll get infected over the red necklace. The red gem that could provoke and kill him, if he stood up around here any longer. It was a death sentence for any beasts. Lina walked inside the doctor's sterille office and reached up to open the up drawer and caught up the bottle she needed, opened up the lid and pushed out a pil onto the open palm of her hand before she brought it up into her mouth.
And swallowed deep into one single shot.
She needed to warn the other girls and especially since they would clearly understand something that would that they would notice from. Anna, Olga, Natasha, Eva and Ayaka and Vincent, mostly would certainely want to know. Unless, Aya wouldn't know any of it. It might be a good idea. But as for Vincent, he would try to bomb her with questions with other women and men would clearly walked inside in the meantime until she could find the money she promised to get, and knowing that Virgina would have her under watch to make, it would open up her eyes to know with whom she was dealing wth, every single day. Oh, Virgina would gladly have a blast to know with whom she'll be dealing with. Aya may know the porcelain dolls around here, but she certainly has no idea to with whom she'll have to compete with. She may have had beaten up Su Li, but Virgina. She was a tough cookie and way better than Su Li had been.
Just the look onto Aya's face, it would totally blow everything over. She would be happy and hoping that just maybe, Virgina would slow down the dept. But there was only one little problem, though. How to tell Àlvarez that the little family here was slowly gonna grow out more? Because of a mistake she made? With Su Li dead, it would certainly drive newspapers and cops around the block, and more often. They would do a lead research, questionate about Su Li's life and about the club, about the girls, the money and especially with the way they were brought up here. Illegaly, even with Àlvarez that might be exposed as well and for his actions along with her which included the other beast. Lina didn't meant to think of Vincent Keller, but the other beast. The Beast whom had started everything ever since he come back into town. Yes. The Beast. There was one other Keller into town. Àlvarez came into town with the only threat that could lead a beast onto its death.
With the red gem.
So. No. It wasn't such a little problem that she was afraid about, but a much bigger one to handle from exposure. Poor Vincent. However, she needed to warn Òliver about Ayaka and to reveal him about her true intentions and loyalty over the job after she'll sent and reveal him the picture that she had been sent by him. Him. Àlvarez needed to know with whom he was dealing with and especially when he'll hear that Ayaka is actually screwing another man with her illiness status and not with him as he demanded her before but stopped because of her sickness.
Yeah, right. Wait until he hears this, he'll fire Vincent's ass away and hopefully he wouldn't kill Ayaka or whomever she is! Virgina had once said that Su Li isn't the one to forget such a familiar face like Eva had stated before when she was being tortured by Aya. That she looked quite familiar but from where? There were many asian women around the world here and yet Aya had appeared out of nowhere right from the moment where Yalena had been attacked and hospitilazed. Something was going on. And somehow the real beast had known something about her presence and from the way it attracted Vincent's intentions. Him. He has to know about something she didn't.
Him. The real monster that had started all of this sickened organization.
...
When she was about to walk through the opening door of the Il Cantuccio coffee-bar restaurant, an distraught Tori got bumped over when an asian built suited man almost knocked over her shoulder. Which it did made her head spin around much as voices were voicing through the back of her mind. It almost made her lose her own balance, not only because of the sudden presence of a human being but of the screaming and pitching voice that rushed through her head.
"Let me go! Let me go! Mama! Papa!"
A voice of a child. A little boy had been screaming and screaming to get away from the arms that held him tight. People with white lab cloths. Doctors or scientists people. And something told her, that the little boy had wanted to get away. Furiously, crying and petrified even. Why? Tori clutched her eyes shut and tight as much as her head was pounding heavily. So much as it hurted.
"Let me go! Let go!" Damn. It sounded so electrifying and to hear and see a child at such a young age to unleashing out such a cry.
"It's for your own good, little one! You're gonna be okay, and by tomorrow morning, you'll be good as new!" A woman's voice with long blond hair was heard among of the doctors who held the kid through the flashing vision and through Tori's mind as the vision was making its work. She shook back her head and blinked her eyes as she tried to shake out the vision away, but couldn't as it kept on going. Only this time, the kid was lying onto a gurney as another doctor, a woman with dark hair under her hospital blue hat and mask was smiling back at the boy who was about to fall alsleep, soon.
"You'll have a new beating heart and you'll be able to live until you become old and grey!" She whispered back as her dark eyes glowed with comfort through the vision and had detected the name pad onto the blue scrub, onto her chest. Dr. Vanessa Chandler. Crap. What? That woman had two faces. And secrets that costed many lives. Including Vincent's and hers. Even Catherine's, she has to admit.
"Are you okay, miss?" Focusing back to present, the red haired woman shook back her head and blinked her eyes as she stepped back from the stranger's male voice and grasp onto her forearm which broke off when she moved away. She held her composure when he hand touched the wall and ran a shaking hand through her amber locks.
"Yeah. I'm sorry. If I had bumped into you-" She tried to come with a lame excuse when her fingers went through her curly hair and looked back to the stranger which revealed up to be a man. A asian man. A very gorgeous man with short dark and combed hair with a dark suit that seemed to kiss his hardened muscles.
"Don't be sorry. It was my fault. I shouldn't be texting while I'm walking here." The man smiled back. A genuine smile. He put his phone back through his coat's pockets."I'm Cheng..Well, Detective Cheng.." Okay, another cop who wanted to take a hint onto a known rich girl like her. Be nice, girl, be nice. Not all guys were heating up onto girls they first cross up at the street.
"Hi.." She cleared up back for a short answer as he pointed her back and rose up his eyebrows in wonder. As if he tried to put all the missed pieces back together or mostly as if he had seen her somewhere else.
"You must be Windsor's daughter, Tori, right? Sorry, for your loss, by the way.." Caught in. Tori just shrugged off. Despite wearing a dark coat that held her through the cold wind with high dark heels, people could still recognize her from the red and frizzly hair all held into a ponytail, and her washed up face. A face that she didn't even cared to cover up, anymore now. Gosh, she felt so tired and not all from the sudden visions, but from everything from the start. From where Vincent and Cat had appeared into her life. But with the way this man looked up at her, made her feel uneasy. Well, she was an attractive woman, after all. So, it was natural for guys to look up at her. Be nice, Tori, be nice. Even if the guy was a stranger, though.
"It's fine." She waved off back, a little too quickly. Not because of her father's death but from the way this man looked almost a little too much unerving to her taste. Unless, he wanted to go out on a date with her. Pushy. She doesn't even know if he has someone waiting at home and the very least of all that she wanted to be is someone's snitching lover. Like it did happened before.
"It's been a while, since he passed away.." She sobered back at the man trying to act normal. A cop. A very serious and mysterious man who doesn't usually smile back at many was smiling back at her. Creep. And to think he has such a weird past from what she had observed when she bumped up to him by mistake. Even if it seemed to have had left such an disturbed mark that shivered through her spine. This man seemed to look far too much through his dark and piercing eyes, of what he seemed to be. As if he tried to read her though deep skin and flesh and bone. If she believed through her visions and they've played, she could assumed that the little and screaming boy had been this young man standing right here.
But why?
"Cop, right? On what case?" She wondered back as she folded her arms against her chest. Hoping to make good figure when she watched him shake his head in defeat. Guess not much cops couldn't or weren't allowed to talk about theirs work outside and to strangers. Pretty much when kids couldn't speak up to strangers when they were at a certain age, and because of their parents's following instructions to not speak with people they do not know.
"I can't really talk about it, but it's mostly on a collaborating case between NYPD and NJPD, but now it seemed that it finally reached up to its end. End of a nosy contract." Nice excuse. Well, mostly cops would blurt out an answer to avoid all mess, unless they could ask people for help. All about dignity talk.
"You're gonna go home, right after that?" The red haired woman tried to look impressed even when she really wasn't.
"I'll have to make a report-I mean my partner and I would have to, but knowing the guy is busy here, I'll probably stick around and help an female detective while her partner is into undercover duty." He explained back. "Vargas can be such a pain in the ass whenever people are stepping up onto her feet." He winced painfully but to which it wasn't so convincing to her. Unless, he was a good liar which he wasn't.
"You're telling me.." She whispered back to herself. She sure did remembered the day when an pissed Tess and Cat had held her cuffed up into the interrogation room just a few minutes before the hostage attack had come up and all that for a stupid green gem. Maybe Vincent shouldn't have had stolen it from the start, things would have gotten better. No one would have been kidnapped or left for dead either way. Tori didn't remembered much of her time being held up into the dungeon, but she did remembered how cold it felt when most of her blood was slowly drooling out of her veins.
Oh God. If Cat and Vincent hadn't come up in time, she would have had died...
"Well.." Her attention went back to the man who checked up back to his phone and made a weird face."I gotta get back to work and looks like that we might have a visitor coming along the way. Another cop to jump in from elsewhere to here." The man looked back up to meet her green orbs with his face that expressed defeat."I'm sorry, to leave you alone like this.."
"It's okay.."
"I was hoping that we could get along and get to know each other.." He cleared back his clearing when she gave him a perplexed look."Not that it should frighten you, but you look very beautiful and I hoped that we could talk up over with a coffee. Get to know each other, if you don't mind. I'm not some stalker, don't worry!"
"I've never thought you were.." She forced up a nervous laugh. When inside, she felt other feelings. Bad feelings. Argh, she felt like wanting to vomit right here and now. And not by a pregnency issue, but by discomfort. What a terrible guy to even think he had the right to ask the first girl out after only one sight! Damn, the guy could be taken and even if she hasn't seen any ring onto his finger. It still wasn't enough. However, the guy hadn't noticied that he made her feel uneasy even if he did seemed to be. And especially, when he had such a dark past as a little boy.
"Do you have a phone number?" Damn, that guy wasn't ready to give up, wasn't he? And Tori only wanted to get away from him and fast. She kinda wished that she still was a beast through these situations, she would have known how to deal with them. She tried to stay cool and not let her frustration out through her sighing. Try not to whine or look annoyed.
"No. Couldn't get myself one, though." She slipped out which had been half of the truth. She did had a phone but with after that happened lately, with the way she had almost harrassed Vincent when he shut her out and had been under Gabe's watchfull eye until Veronica had stepped in to take care of the mess. Under her protection, which meant she had taken her phone this morning and even before she rose up from bed. Damn. But it didn't stopped him to retreat out a card from his breast pocket and handled back to her when she stared at it and back up to his face, with an raised eyebrow in questioning.
"Well, if you change your mind, you could always try and give me a call."
"I don't keep or hold onto promises, though." She shrugged back off as he chuckled back, softly but nicely and not to forget a little bit pushy here.
"Well, I did always, that I've tried to invite you.." He gave a smile as she took his card.
"Sure, would do, Detective." Be nice, Tori, be nice.
"Cheng, for friends and it was nice meeting you, Tori.." He greeted her once more as he wanted to whirl away until he stopped his step as she also wished to get away from him. "Oh and, one last thing, you should know, although." Oh Boy. She watched him look back at her when she was about to open up the door.
"Yeah?" Couldn't it get more worse?
"If you ever see a certain man that goes under the name Santiago Medina and tries to shake you up with his questions don't hesitate to lawyer up." Cheng had added up back as the name did sounded familiar to Tori for a second as her eyebrows narrowed. Where did she heard it, again? "That guy can be very nosy when he's up onto something. The best conclusion that I can give you is to stay away from him.." It sounded much like a warning here.
"Why is that?"
"Because, he is my partner and often likes to work alone into cases that aren't fit enough for him to endure. Even to shake some people into fear so they would speak out." The detective explained back about the man whom had tried to talk Veronica out. About the events when Reynolds got arrested and with Vincent getting it should have had stayed as a secret. And now someone was digging the case back into light. "And like I said, when he's up into something; he just doesn't know how to give up, easily..Even I heard that he went to your place and that your lawyer had stopped him, once.." Ohh..Maybe that's why..Now, it told her something and to which it stood her onto her guard. Now, she had known why she felt so hesitated when this guy bumbed up onto her shoulder. Not just by accident, but by expectication as if he had known she was about to pass here by. He passed by to give her a simple warning.
However, he was still a creep, and to make it worse, that little screaming boy and the detective had a deep connection within. Something was not making sense, at all.
"How do you know that?" Tori asked back when he specifically brought the subject about a cop coming over to her place. Well, Veronica's and had asked some questions which she does remember now. Personal questions, like about the time when Catherine had arrested her father and later came up the bullet onto the crime along with Vincent's exposure to the public. And where she had been during this time. Probably sniffing around Reynolds's departements before going right back to Vincent's place. To find him with a gunshot and bleeding out, furiously. That cop was he gonna press things up now? On what mission, hadn't he been up to now? No wonder, Veronica felt the pressure to come to her defense and probably push the injonction over him. Medina. Unless, he was smarter and was digging his attention into something way more disturbing than it was. Like the world of beasts and to think that she had been one and almost put Vincent's life into danger because of her.
"Like I said. He's my partner and I do know that whenever he causes trouble to get what he wants, he doesn't go away, that easily. So, if you need any help, you could always lawyer yourself or call me. But better, if you call me and I could slip him a few words from you.." Cheng had warned up back before he turned his heel back onto his walk and left her alone. Too much confident as much as he sounded creepy here. Tori may not be a beast anymore but she sure her own former insticts hadn't left her when a mysterious and questionable guy like Cheng had tried to make a an expected move onto her and had quite known a lot about as well.
I better call Veronica, and let her know what I know about the other cop. Medina's partner..Crap. I wished I had a phone-
"Don't try to get to easy onto that, young lady." An familiar voice was heard from behind her back as she gotten startled and turn around. To see her mother's best friend with her long bleached blond hair pulling up by the wind as her beige and espensive coat was warming her up from the cold as she held up tight to her dark purse. Her make-up perfectly intact didn't hide out away the disappointement through her features. It was Veronica and she didn't looked too happy. Angry even. The woman breathed out deeply as she took out plastic and zipped bag with pink stick into it. Which Tori had recognized it from. The pregnancy test. The stick whom she had gotten rid and away from every eye.
"I think you and I might need to have a little talk, here.." Veronica hissed back through her tone which made the red haired woman shiver through her long spine. Trouble were about to start for her.
...
Can't believe that Vargas just had the guts to blackmailed and shut me up, here! Medina had thought deeply through his mind much as he wanted to curse right up here in the cold wind as he leaned over his car in front of the hospital parking with both hands into his pockets. The girl had caught him right right in the middle and had threatened him that she would expose him if it kept on going. Under record. And whenever Tess knows about something, she'll make sure he'll get into trouble and might get expelled for that. Because of the mess that the old man had put him through, even if Hendricks had saved his ass. It won't make it any better not only for him, but both of them.
And even Cheng, had known that he was up into something. This guy was making him feel creepy. Work, work, work. That's all the man was doing lately. Not much of a man who was likedly wanting to have a life with a woman, one day.
Damn. He wished he had a cigarette. However, since Laura had their second child, a three year old daughter with strawberry blond locks just like her mom has, he stopped to smoke. Broken off the bad habit. He hadn't been a huge smoker but in order to keep his lungs healthy and bright, but also to be around for a couple years or so for his family, Medina had kept his word which it did. However, today. Everything was just..Bargh! He needed a relief which he couldn't have or else Laura would have to kick his ass once he gets back home. He wouldn't his eighteen year old son to even imitate him now that he was sent away in college. Wouldn't want Matias to come back with cannabis smell around either, it'll make the house go into toxic mode!
Rather not think about it!
He shook his head trying to get away from his lame thoughts as a taxi drove off and came into the hospital parking right onto the front of his view. Stepping back and got around behind his car at the front, Medina took a good peak to it as the back door slammed up open to reveal a strong man with a shirt rushing out widely as a short woman with a messy long dark hair and who wore a coat too much long for her height, came out from the car. The cop male watched the two of them trying to talk things out or as they seemed to be when the woman had gently shoved the man out from her way as she looked like she wanted to walk alone and right to the entry until, the man was having none of it, when he stepped back onto track and had frustrately grabbed her back from behind and carried her up into his arms, mumbling that she shouldn't be so stuborn when she was the one who got got herself hurt here, from last night.
Or from what it looked to be, over there.
And that arguing people were none but the undercover cop, Catherine Chandler alias Ayaka and Vincent Keller who walked a little bit too much faster, to his taste athough. Just like Tess had predicted, these two were into their covers deeply. However, Catherine Chandler did looked injured here even if Keller held her into his arms here. And how bad, exactly? And if so, than why hadn't she administred herself into the ER, if it was urgent? Because, she just couldn't do it, or if she had, things would have gotten a little too supsiously. Mostly, because of Zhang's murder, it would have had linked up to her motive and blown up her cover much as for Tess, and probably questioning up Vincent Keller's presence as well. Either he tried to ruin Cat's cover or he'll get his ass blowned up by his superior, even if the questions he really wanted to ask could lead him up into trouble, unless, he could try and safe some time for later. Once Chandler gets herself back onto her own feet. Play nice, Medina and once you'll be done with the favor that Tess had asked you, you'll go back into the haunting move.
But who is he going to ask? He nearly brought down Reynolds and it had been a failure. Who's next? Chandler or Keller? Unless, Gabe Lowan had known about something? After all, he and Chandler had been there at the very same scene as the nice homeless man had said so. He could always check him, but not now but maybe later. And besides, the ex-A.D.A. man must be having lots of fun behind bars with a few criminals and especially the ones that he'd had put behind bars on his own. Yup. Lowan must be having the time of his life back up there.
But what had interessed him the most? It was the man and the woman who were already inside of the hospital by now. They made him think of an close couple as if they've already had been from before. Way more interesting as he looked back up when the sound of his phone had shaken him up. He dragged it out from his pocket and checked through his messenger. Which made him growl.
"Get up your ass and act pretty!" Damn, Tess was annoying and a pain into the ass. However, she held a record and could use it anytime she wished too. If she has the guts to do or so. But it might as well end up his career. So it's better to play nice for a while.
"Showtime, Medina.." He mumblered to himself as he circled the front of his car and walked back to the hospital.
...
"I need to see a doctor, here! Please, help me out!" A male voice was heard around the corner and close to the entry as Tess went up to the rescue. Dressing up into blue scrubs and white cloth from the very last minute when she informed the few of the staff around that she was a cop undercover and demanded their help for a case that concerned Hermandez's death, they were willed to help her out without any second. However, Chief Ward had been informed from the case and from the way Cat had been kidnapped for personal reasons because of a jealous bartender, it was enough.
He had been furious and furious enough to strangle not only her but Dana Landon as well. He demanded that both of them would come up to his office and immediately. Cause not only Cat's kidnapping had made him furious as hell. But when he received an injonction from a certain lawyer under the name of Veronica Vasquez to keep any cop away from any sight of Tori Windsor because of a cop whom had gotten the nerve to jump and ask questions about that famous night from where and between the time when Cat had arrested Reynolds and shot Vincent when he was about to kill him. Which it had been not declared and still remained , it was not only because of that. It was because Hendricks had sent him to do a job he couldn't or had gotten out from finishing because it was getting too personal for him to handle after bullet that was found at the crime scene wasn't found to be a match. Cause if Vincent had gotten onto the killing mood and killed Reynolds, things would have gotten way more worse..
And it would have been too much devastating for Cat to endure and to think that her own complicated and beast boyfriend might turned to be a cold blooded killer. Be brave Tess! But the good part in all of this, it was that the precinct was about to dig through Su Li's murder now. And an hidden camera that proved the settlement between the two women, Lina and Su Li as an evidence. It had been a shock but good news, for once to hear. Which means it would probably come to an end for Cat's undercover work. But only as a good thing cause for now more cops would be surrounding up onto Lina's and Àlvarez's background even more than before. And maybe clearing up Vincent's name behind Gretchen's murder and Yalena's attack.
And soon, the nightmare would be over. Wouldn't it be? Only time would tell. However, Tess didn't had much time not for herself but for Cat and Vincent. Time for action, Tess.
"I need a stretcher for this woman! Hurry!" She called up in a rushing move to another person with a similiar cloth was walked away to get a streetcher while Tess hurried over to the man here. Vincent as he carried an shivering and injured Catherine into his arms as she looked concerned over her friend under Vincent's frowning stare.
"You okay, here?"
"A bit bruised up, but ok.."
"But?"
"My ego, is mostly bruised up pretty bad..If you know what I mean.." Not like she really wanted to remain up under the ex-soldier's arms who tried to re-adjust his strenght. Not to mention he did looked pale here. Close to a ghost from what Tess could guess. And to state that he went out without a coat outside through the harshing cold. Unless, he was a shivering beast here, Tess would have thought he had gotten a early cold catch here.
"Look, you're the one who held back from getting a check-up. Not me. Be happy if you're still kicking up ass, today.." Vincent had remarked back under Cat's disapproving answer. Which she rolled up her eyes, annoyed by his answer.
"My hero, yeah right.." Cat had sarcastically said even if the situation looked less funny than it seemed. Vincent risked everything to help her to get out from Su Li's basement underground from what Cat had told her briefly before. The NYPD was making up an investigation by now to go and check up the club where Cat had been held up by now. Unless they could find something about the ex-female prisoner a little something that had been dimissed from them.
"Come on, let's get you check up here.." Tess had assured Cat as a stretcher had come along to them.
"Dr. Cassandra Rose, is this woman your patient?" The nurse had followed back much to Tess's displeasure at the undercover name, she almost held back a grimace at this answer. Next time, I'll choose up the nicknames! I'll be Sherlock and she'll be Watson!
"Yes. Thirty-one year old, Ayaka Richardson is under my precaution here. I've been her doctor when she first was diagnosed with an early HIV positivity status. I need to make sure that she is being taken care of. Even if she appears to be healthy and clear. I also want to take a look onto these burnings and that little concusion, right away." She played along with the role she accepted up to do and turned back to Cat with a wince when Vincent gently laid her up to the half sitting up stretcher, when she looked down onto the burns on her arms. "Looks you've been attacked up here.." And she was Cat tried to brought up back the sleeves of Vincent's coat to cover up the burnings.
"I'm fine." She sat up onto the white cloth as the stretcher stood up so that her back wouldn't get itched up down and wheeled up as the nurse pushed her up to the examination room along with Tess and Vincent who followed her, standing across from each other with Cat between them.
"I always get that same and lame line from my reckless patients, you know?" Tess smirked back smoothly, until she sobered up when she whispered back, hoping no one from the hospital staff would heard her."Have they tried to-"
"No. They didn't." Vincent's hard tone had answered her worries when her eyes looked back at him. "I've made sure they didn't touch her, when I bursted inside back at there.." Vincent had cut the question out before Cat could answer, much to Tess's relief. The boys hadn't gotten the chance to do whatever a never ending nightmare would do to a woman.
"No, they didn't raped me. Like Vincent said, they didn't had the time to do it. Things gotten out of the way.." Cat had assured back her partner who nodded back as she was being wheeled off away and turned back away before she crossed Tess's glance with a warning voice."And Su Li?"
"Dead. That damn bitch is dead and lying for real into a cold locker at the morgue section." Tess had answered back with a nervoius gulp which she hadn't finished up the rest of her line. Which it would gladly things into another way."NYPD would have to go through an investigation." Which held up Cat into surprise as much much Vincent stood silent at this remark.
"What? Tess, they cannot do that!" The female undercover cop held up her hands onto the rails of the gurney, as she looked like she wanted to escape the place here for a second here."It's only gonna make cover blow up to my ass!"
"Not much in your interest. Your cover would remain safe." Her partner had tried to assure her with her voice at lower point, hoping no one would heard them here."I know, it sucks. But you're sure well know that Su Li was once an ex-prisoner and some gal that we had almost gotten killed. Well, mostly I had tried to kill her. But, take it for a good idea; it may lead to end your undercover work soon, either way.." Tess explained almost impressed by her own words as it sounded for Cat and Vincent once the stretcher had reached to a corner close next to separate green curtains, and that the very same nurse hooked up Catherine to a heartbeat machine, doing its work and the rest of it, before alerting a doctor away. Maybe getting Àlvarez into the emergency care who would make a clear checking-up. Unless, if he had to ask questions of Cat's appearence here.
"What do you mean?" With that sentence, Tess had known she had to come up with a conclusion. Pouring her feelings out here and with what she had heard from the phone call she had received.
"Meanwhile, as the NYPD would start an investigation things would gladly help your situation out, for short. They would track down all the information they need on Su Li, from the time we tracked her down till now. With whom she hang out with and with whom she dealt. Like Lina, for example or from anybody else. Like that bodyguard girl who hang out with her at the bar, while you and I were away for a meeting.." Tess had revealed once again refeering to the other matter that cops had discovered as well. According to Chief Ward, an hidden video was found about the meeting with Lina and Su Li while she and Cat were away to give up an update onto the case.
"Wait, what?" Pretty little Lina was caught into the tracking act up here. From what Cat stood up stunned much as her heartbeat sounded. What else this girl was gonna take onto this delirious thing?
"Lina. Looks like she had settup an kidnapping and it was recorded live on camera." Tess had confrmed back to the both of them and sighed tiredly."One of the officers had showned it to me after I left the morgue section right before you guys came along the way. Looks, like the fine lady not only had gottten you trapped with a hitman but had gotten herself caught through the video, as well." It had been recorded through a hidden camera which had been caught Lina through her actions. Cat had slipped out a shivered gasping soud out through her mouth.
"So, it would be the end of the work?" Vincent had concluded looking not too sure, but Tess shook her head in denial.
"I wouldn't say that now. But I believe that we got something to track Lina down this time, on her own way with dealing with organized crime. However, we still need proof that Àlvarez is more than an abuser of women."
"If he has anything to do about it. You mean.." The ex-soldier had corrected back when Cat ran her fingers through her hair locks.
"So, what next?" She held back down the urge to run away and clutched an hold to the coat.
"Next? Try to be cool, here. And feel free to answer to some questions that Medina would ask you both." Tess had brought up her fists onto her waist which it did made Cat gulp.
"Medina?"
"I know what you're thinking, but he's the only one to whom can cover your story for now until Àlvarez would come at your side. Trust me, Medina owns me big deal and with him around, your boss wouldn't feel threatened at all."
"Alright."
"Play it cool. He knows you're undercover, so he wouldn't blow it off here. Tell him what happened last night and how you've meet up with big guy here..Otherwise, make it short and simple."
"What if he asks me if I had to do with Su Li's murder? And with me, refusing any medical administration?" Cat had annoyedly asked back as her ex-boyfriend moaned in defeat. Not his fault but hers.
"For sure..It's gonna be fun.." Vincent leaned back at the curtain here with both arms crossed up to his chest as he frowned. Not to mention, he did shivered here."Àlvarez wouldn't hesitate to come foreword here." He watched her to turn her attention towards him, with the feeling he needed to say more but he held back the words into the back of his mind. After all, she was as sturborn as much as he was.
"Even if it means to see you and keep you under his watch." He followed up back to her warning glance.
"I'm not afraid of him. Of any other men, here." She declared back with confidence, but wasn't she telling the truth? She may not be afraid of any men but to those who were willing to capture her heart, just like Vincent had captured so many times. And he had been the first despite the first ones she had and Àlvarez wasn't one of them, at all. She tried to convice herself about it but her ex-boyfriend didn't believe it. Noting that he's an polygraphing expert through the heartbeat feeling.
"And with Lina becoming an suspect through Su Li's murder. It might get even better, Àlvarez would be questionned and tracked and also brought up onto justice, sooner than ever." Tess had interrupted back that moment between them before it could get away uglier than ever. If it that was about to show off here.
"Unless, he gets lawyered up and fast. When it gets onto him in the face.." Cat mumbled back through her breath as Vincent nodded back in agreement. Probably, Lena's soon ex-husband would get very suspicious about it, mostly over an hitman's murder and Lina's being involved into Su Li's death.
"However, it's a start that we can look up onto. We finally can start with something, logic." Tess had assured back to the both of them as her attention came onto Vincent whom looked like he was about to lose his own balance. Didn't mattered if he had the strenght of a beast. He was still human whom dealt with a lot of pressure lately. With Cat being undercover and a couple of friends who were under witness protection because of an vengeful husband not to mention he did spent the night totally awake by watching over Cat's well being. He was exhausted and deadly pal throughout his skin."You're sure that you're okay? You look pale like a ghost, here.." Her expression had gotten a little concerned here.
"I'm alright, just a bit tired.." He sighed back and ran his hand through his thick hair with his fingers."It just was a long night to overcome, that's all.." And maybe more. The fact he might had watched over Cat the entire night and to made sure she hadn't had deep bleeding from her concusion which she made it through, but not as much for him. He did looked frightened pale here. Cold as Tess stated from the way his breath was lightly shaking up and his muscles were as well. He folded his arms against his chest as if he was trying to cover himself from the cold. She did look somehow concerned. It didn't mattered if he was a beast or Jacob Black from Twilight, he couldn't always appear to be invicible. After all, he almost died from a gunshot once and from Cat's hand. But from how it looked up here, Tess felt he was gonna collapse for a minute. More like his head wouldn't stop spinning as it looked like.
"Vincent?" This time, it was Catherine's voice that shook him off his thoughts and to which it almost made him lose his balance. When both women had tried to make a step to help him out, he declined their offer when he regained his composure.
"I'm fine." He slipped out as a short answer. He cleared oout his throat."I'm gonna try to find somebody to examine you and to make sure you're being taking care of.." He closed his eyes shut for a second as he pressed the bridge of his nose and took a few breaths deep in and moved out of the way. Leaving both women here concerned, and especially Tess. Maybe J.T. had been right something not good was going on with Vincent. And it was more than a simple figue.
"Something's not right here.." Cat's voice had brutally awkened her up as she looked back to see her stare had gotten hard. When she tried to give her one chance of confidence.
"Don't worry, we'll fry Lina's ass and get closer to Àlvarez-" However, her partner wasn't talking about the case anymore. She watched Cat shook her head and added up.
"No. It's not what I've meant, Tess. It's about Vincent. I think that something is going here.." Like what? How long did it took Cat to finally understand this situation? Which she decided to play along as she listened.
"Like what?"
"This early morning, after I woke up alone and went to the bathroom and as he was walking out and when I came in..I..I.." That was Cat. Always bablerring about everything whenever she was worried. At least, that didn't changed.
"Yes?"
"Tess. I saw blood into the sink. Blood. And something it's telling me that it wasn't from yesterday. Not mine, at least but from Vincent, maybe." Catherine blurted out, concernedly. Not only Tess had noticed how strange Vincent looked like, Cat also had her suspicions athough. Which it did made her worried from an eye angle.
Hopefully, it would all come to an end once they'd be able to make Lina speak and stop this madness.
...
"I need to go to the hospital.."
"You know, you can't.."
"I deeply need to, or I might-" Lina slapped back Eva to her face, hard as the blond haired woman fell back onto her bedsheets. The short strawberry haired woman snorted with disgust at the fallen woman here.
"Quite playing the pathetic bitch, here! If you're here and locked up into your room, it's because of your own fault." Lina had remarked back when an weakedly Eva stood onto her shoulders as she refused to glance back to her direction. "You deserve to perish for the way you've acted towards me and Ayaka. Think you've could had fooled me. Be happy that Keller was around to help you out.."
"Aya is not what you think she is. She's a fake-" Eva tried to reply once again as Lina spat her saliva onto the woman's long blond hair locks.
"That's what Olga said. According to her and Natasha, you've told them that you recognized Ayaka from somewhere else." She sneered back as the wounded stripper pushed her hair away before she tried to stand.
"Which I've had. Almost one or two months ago, I've seen her walking around the hallway back at the club. I've seen her gun." With all the strenght she had, Eva talked up back as she turned her head towards the ex-dancer. Not scared about the bartender who frowned back.
"Don't impress me with your whinning, here. If you had told me just where Kayla had been, you wouldn't have gotten yourself bruised up for lying.."
"Bruised up, you said? You've let her attacked and tortured me close enough to death!" Eva had sat up bright onto her bed, for the first time and as frustuated ever since she had been forced up onto bed."I did nothing to deserve this!" She defended herself back a little too much loud than she expected back.
"You sure did, young lady.." Lina had replied back as if she had spat onto the woman's healing face. Scars that would gladly fade away from her face, in a couple of days or so, but as it had been for the scars that her body carried, it was a total different sight. They may never fade away because of the brutal attacking she had endured by Ayaka. And especially when she had signed a contract with Àlvarez and Lina until the very end of it. Even if it meant to be the end of her life, although. Or the end of her career for good. Earlier, she expected to talk down to Olga when she had been on her way here until Eva's room was widely open and saw the woman awake. So, instead of looking over a trouble bird, she went to see the crowl one who still wasn't doing good despite her shape. With her hair in a mess and with her red dark nightgown here that didn't do much onto covering up her puplelish bruises.
"You have a lot of nerve of spitting me that line onto my face. If I were you, I'd be begging for mercy, here.." Lina had gladly added up once again as she finally and mentally stated that she might not win this fight.
"I don't do any begging here.." Eva tried to answer back again as her screams were left unheard.
"Which it didn't sounded that to me.." The bartender watched the blond haired woman push away a long blond lock of hair away from her shoulder."Both you and Anna had fooled me and Ayaka. Us both by lying to my face of hiding Kayla away. Just be happy that I didn't made Ayaka punish Anna as well." Lina had followed back up with a snort."It would have been too much exhausting for her to deal with two girls on the same night." Yes. The red haired woman could have gotten an punishement as well, but with the alibi she had, it probably saved her own pretty face. Not much for Eva who took an harsh punishement for lying and protecting a young woman who was promised to be sacrificed that night. And Kayla had been nowhere around. Not to mention, she did sent the chaperones away with Anna and her date, while she had played smart with the guests. Kayla's guest.
"I don't know where she is.."
"Here you go; lying again.." Lina had went on again by accusing her of lying to her face. Even Olga could have done it better, but it was too bad she wasn't around at the middle of the daylight. Mostly be somewhere out with friends and shopping at the mall, in the meantime. No wonder Lina didn't found her here when she wanted to by now.
"You are disgusting. She's just only twelve-" Eva had whinned back as the bartender wanted to hear no more of this when she shook her head in denial. As if it wasn't her fault.
"What can I say, pretty girl? Men do like them young..Which means by fresh and to which you no longer are.." Lina made a move as she slowly stood up from the bed and was about to walk away when the Eva blurted out as an attack point.
"I can tell you the very same thing to you. You were nothing before Àlvarez and still there you are under his hold and still nothing.." Eva spat back down loud enough to make the bartender stop through her tracks, and to turn her head to meet the blond haired woman's angry features back.
"You still think you can win Keller's heart, now that you've ordered Aya's kidnapping? Olga told me about it as well. She may not speak good english but she sure has a great hearing and especially when it was Su Li who did the whole kidnapping with Virgina as a sheild. And with you by trying to play innocent. Which you aren't and you know that.." The blond haired had followed up back when the ex-dancer had stood up to her guard when she had heard Vincent's name coming out of Eva's milky lips.
"Don't threaten me.." Her hands formed up onto fists as much as her manicured nails were bitting up her skin deep.
"It's the truth, girl and now that Su Li is dead, it may all go back at your face and I mean everything." Eva concluded."You made and set all this action up to get back at Aya because of the attention and attraction that she has over Keller and it just drives you crazy with jealousy."
"Seriously, jealousy?" Lina had raised up an curious eyebrow as if she wasn't impressed by Eva's choice of wordfs here.
"I mean she can swept him off of his feet even better than you could have had.." The blond haired woman had stated back with a smirk that Lina had wanted to get rid off. Even if it means cutting it off by herself. She really wished she could've had done it. But instead, she remained good on her composure. Eva was already look weak and with the way she looked here right in front of her, it was already done. Lina shook her head stating that by pushing up the fight would only make Eva grow more tired and that Vincent would probably get it by once he'll comeback here. He'll be pissed to find that one of his patients had gotten a little edgy and even more weakier if he figured out that she and Eva had a fight. Which might compromise Eva's condition to even worst state.
"We'll re-schedule this talk about Kayla, on another time, but I'll let you know this. One thing for sure. You fool me again; you up end dead, got it?" The bartender rose up a finger as a warning point and directly at Eva's face. "And this time you won't get lucky, Vincent wouldn't get the chance to save you and you might as well end to the hospital like you wanted to." And this time, it was Lina's turn to smirk."At the morgue section." As if the frail woman could try to scare her off with the way she was sitting onto the bed. Eva tried to stay strong onto her hard stare before Lina could walk away from the room. She may not had found Olga or the precious and fresh Kayla who was still missing and that something told her onto the back of her mind that Anna and Eva had been up to something. But what? And to say the truth out loud, Eva had been right. She was jealous of Ayaka but intrigued in a way. If Ayaka had said onto her profile that she was diagnosticated with HIV, just like she was. Then how could she explain that she hadn't been afraid of having sexual relationships or so? She had always refused Àlvarez's demands but not Vincent's?
Something was wrong.
Maybe Ayaka is fake, I gotta be more careful about it. Better protective. If Su Li's death goes up to the cops, she'll be in trouble much like Àlvarez and him. Him. Unless, if he can do something about it before it's too late. Or maybe. Lina stopped her walk and turned her head back to the room. Eva's room, in wonder when thoughts was going around her mind here. Maybe the idea of sending Eva to the hospital, wouldn't be such a bad idea, after all. If that's what she wants, then maybe Eva would get the help she needs. If she can make it up there, of course. The bartender smiled back at the idea and followed back with her walk. After all, she has other things to deal with.
Like greeting Su Li's women and men from her other club. And probably all the thing going on, it would only make him more angry. More angrier.
...
Maybe, I do need some help. Gotta call J.T. Vincent had thought back throughtout his mind as he dropped down his bag and sat down onto a chair at the waiting room section and far from the very few people who were also sitting at thefirst to two rang. He wipped off the sweat out of his brow. Damn, it was getting a little hot in here. Or it was just him to feel a bit hot and to feel little chills over his arms and each member of his body, and out nowhere?
It's still the middle of April here and a little too much early to have some heat going on. Unless, the symptoms had gotten weary. Like fever. No wonder, his head felt like spinning when Tess was asking questions and explaining the rest of the undercover work status. Good news; the case was slowly coming up onto an end, but the bad news were that Cat was still gonna be stuck around at the club and under Àlvarez's clutches and in order to make him speak once. Which made him his blood boil with fury as much as the beast wanted to unleash out his strength here. He put his elbows onto his knees and laid his head onto his head, feeling frustrated but frightened, for a second. To keep on imagining Catherine through Àlvarez's clutches. Oh God. Just that thought made him want to grew the monster out of him. And what for? To let the disease take even more control and kill him? Cat had said that she had seen blood onto the sink. She told him that and that didn't looked like it lasted for years but from this morning. She was a cop and wasn't that dumb to figure if it was fresh paint or blood. Close enough for Tess to ask him if he was okay or not, cause Vincent knows for sure that no matter on how long he could keep on denying the symptoms, people could always stare at him and tell him otherwise the truth.
Calm down. Just calm down. He needed to be strong, not only for him but for Catherine. It wasn't too late to make her drop the case, she could always step back down, no? No. She wouldn't. She wanted justice for a friend who didn't had the chance to do it. Why? Because, if she had, then nobody would have had believe it. Just like it did occured to him and when he tried to have had justice on his own, he did tried to kill somebody here.
He tried to kill an federal agent, and not just anyone here but Catherine's biological father. And now that he thought about it, it was for the better that she had walked onto them and stop him. Shot him when he didn't listened. All thanks to Tori, but also it was his own fault. Their relationship had taken an downfall because of his own actions. She didn't accused him from before but she sure did today. No wonder, he ended up alone. Alone with his demons.
Alone.
"What's the matter, Keller? Cat had gotten out your tongue?" An familiar growling male voice had startled him up from his thoughts as he dropped his hands down onto his knees and turned at his left when his eyes searched for the voice. And from where an familiar and build figure with a dark leathered jacket and a grey t-shirt and jeans, was staring back at him with hard veins throughout his face, with glowing amber eyes were staring right back at him. Long and sharping teeth and with the way hard veins linked their connection to its own forming and sharp claws had made their way out of his hands's place as if he was waiting for something to come. He inhaled and exhaled air through his nostrils coming out from his deep lungs. Like, he was ready to come out to his prey. Blind anger made him wild.
Someone to kill.
The very same man who stared back at him was the picture of Vincent. Full beast mode and ready to kill. Just like he had been from that night. Himself sneering and roaring back under his breath over at him. Much like he was mocking at him. Mocking at his own failure because of his own humanity that kept him on the good side. Because of a woman's love that kept him sane but had made the beast in him enraged.
"Don't try to look away..Nobody would come to save you here." Had hissed the beast from his corner as Vincent was about to turn around as someone could have had watched him look like a irrational man. He felt like his own heart race going out madly, as much like it wanted to come out of him in any second. He really hoped that whatever he was seeing was only his imagination and nothing more. Unless, if somebody had seen an enravaging beast here. Better call 9-11 and fast.
"You..You.." He stood up from his seat with eyes widened in astonishement, trying so hard to not raise a finger over the figue that he only can see. Was he about to lose up his mind or did whatever thing cause him to become madly insane here? But, nobody here seemed to take care of. And neither the beast in here seemed so. Couldn't give a damn thing as he snickered back and mockedly at his face.
"Me? Me? Don't make me laugh here..You failed to kill him and her." Her? What the hell was he talking about? Vincent shook his head in denial. Unless, he did meant about the other night when he did sidetracked Reynolds and Catherine when he wanted to go for the kill and failed when he gave it up away. When he got shot by Catherine after she had begged him to run away to save himself before it was too late. And somehow the beast in him hadn't take it that thought so well. Vincent didn't either, at first. However, he let his heart giving the chance to forgive Catherine and knowning that it wasn't her fault but his own. Only his. A confrontation between Dr. Jekyll and his monstrous side that brought him to his misery, Hyde. Yes, he was definally lose his mind here.
"But..How could you-" Just how? He was at such loss of words here when the beast in him kept on cutting him with loath when Vincent saw the other part of himself raise a pointing and accusing finger at him. With the way he did it, it made his jacket raise up and to expose the only left hole through his grey t-shirt. A red spot forming and enlarging even more was taking place. The very same spot where Catherine's bullet went there and had almost left him for dead. Vincent watched the other part of himself's sneering expression turning into an viciously expression as he was the only one to blame him for his mistakes.
"And you're all alone now..Without your precious Catherine and dying.." The beast had roared out the truth from his deep enraging voice that made Vincent shiver through his skin."I know, cause I'm you and you are me. And that both of us may not survive for long.." He wouldn't survive it. The poison. Neither the beast would be. If he doesn't survive the poison, than neither the beast would be able to reverse the way.
"What?" His eyes widened into shock as the creature kept on explaining and annoyed.
"Are you deaf? Did you heard what I've just said here? You and I. We are dying here, get it?" The beast had cursed him with the fate that not only he had to go with, but so would the beast would have to. Unless, Vincent could beast out the anger out of him and die faster than he expected to. "Let's face it. If you die, I die with you as well and that's because of her.." The beast meant about one only person here and the only one who kept his heart beating into living.
Catherine.
"No. No.." He blurted out helplessly. No. Catherine couldn't and wasn't the person who could bring him to his death. No. She wasn't that evil. No, she couldn't be or else he wouldn't have gone to save her from those boys from last night. With the way she looked up at him with mercy and begging him to spare the lives from being taken. She looked so destroyed and vulnerable in this state and alone at the corner of the isolated cage. No, Catherine was good. She wasn't evil, it was the job that made her do bad decisions not herself. There wasn't a bad bone through her. It was the beast whom tested him to chose a side and to make him take the hatred instead of love and by dropping all humanity left he had and to drop it away. Hate was a strong feeling, but so was love and Vincent wasn't ready to give it away for nothing. No, he just couldn't. No!
No. He stepped back and turned away as he almost tripped over his paperback when he still could feel the beast sneering over his back. Which he could only hear from this place.
"Give it up on love. On Catherine, Vincent and come with me..Let the hatred take over you just like it did onto me.."
"No.." Vincent had shut his eyes as the picture of the beast would soon fade away from his mind only to hear his demonic voice that kept on pushing for more and more as if this torture would never ever end. Be strong Vincent, don't listen to it.
"Your precious Catherine had abondonned you and had almost gotten you killed when we've both came at this close onto stopping Reynolds. And you failed because of her. You got weak and stepped back away from me.."
"No. She didn't gave up on me..She didn't. She loved me.." She really did, until she had let him go. Alone with the darkest side of him. At least, he tried to convince it, to himself.
"No. She doesn't love you. Vincent, she never did. Come to me. Be with me.."
"No.." He covered up his ears as his expression turned into a wincing point. He felt like he was being tempted by his other form of himself who couldn't just stop on laughing at his face. Evil laugh that wasn't even his own sound of laughter.
"You and I are a team. None else is better than me..You don't need her."
"No."
"Yes, come with me-"
"No, I won't.."
"Be with-"
"Stop it!" Vincent had raised up his voice unexpecdly than he imagined. He took a look around at his surroundings with fists clutched up tight, his breathing on the edge and as stunned, like a madman would look. When people in the waiting room looked around at him, as startled as they looked to be. But no more beast reflection was around the room. Nowhere. Just random and startled people who looked up at him. Still startled over the turning out of the event, Vincent tried to take control over his breathing as his attention were everywhere as if he looked up to find somebody here. The beast was gone and nowhere to be found. He was totally alone, here. No beast around but himself.
That's it. I'm slowly losing my mind here.
"Vincent Keller? Is that you?" An female voice was heard as he turned over at his left to see an young brunette woman whose hair was tied onto a ponytail with hazel eyes, and into green pale scrubs under the name Dr. Angela Varkis. She was approaching him with concern written onto her face. A nice woman. A young woman into her early thirties, who seemed like she had known him from before as her perfected eyebrows narrowed in confusion here as she looked up to his direction when he tried to vanish away. Therefore, there were many people who seemed to know him but not him knowing them, instead. Oh, crap. The whole amnesia seemed to be playing along here and well. Cause people seemed to buy it, including himself for a little bit. At least, he didn't throw up a chair to the wall, or else people would think of him as crazy here. Wild man! Oh God. He gotta get out of here and right now! Disappear and now.
What about Catherine? She'll figure out of something! He couldn't just stand up here with people looking around at him, questionably and almost frightened of him as the woman slowly walked up to him with both hands raised up as a sign she came up to his front with peace. When he was close to hyperventilating and sweating up here. The fever. The poison was starting to make him look mad.
Insane, even!
...
"Vincent?" The kind woman had asked when he turned to look around for an exit door and the same one whom he first came in with Catherine, only to escape from exposure. Where was it again? But what about Catherine? She still must be waiting for him to comeback to the emergency care where she is still to be treated here.
"I gotta go. I gotta..I can't..I can't stay here.." He run out of words as he started to make a few steps ahead. Or maybe because he was still aware that he'll get catch up with the beast and thoughts of him of wanting his vulnerable side to join him, forever. Give up on love, Vincent. Give up on anything! No, he couldn't He can't! But he needed to leave!
"Go where? Where to?" The woman under the name Angela tried to understand him as she watched him from behind with attention when he tried to get back away.
"I can't..I need to..I can't.."
"Slow down, Vincent and tell me what's going on?" Vincent whirled back around shaken with anxiety. Anxiety? Since when did he ever felt like this? He took a good look to the woman who tried to stay calm here despite his eyes remained wide and frightened. Oh Crap. Nobody made him look terrified, nobody!
"Who are you?" But he did looked terrified here. Because of the halluccinations from the beast. It was driving him God. The woman rose up her hands against hersef as she presented herself as much natural as her voice sounded here. Trying to stay calm, even if her heartbeat was racing up as if she was the one to be attacked here.
"I'm Angela. Angela Varkis. Don't you remember me? You used to date my roomate and friend Alex and even got engaged before you entlisted.." She nervously chuckled back at that answer. However, he had no recognition of any memory but she did looked sincere when he was too much confused. Delirious because of the fever. Because of the poison. Because of the beast. Come to me, Vincent!
"No!" He shouted back as he stepped way back away from the shaken brunette and whirled his back away from her as he stubbled over his walking footsteps. Back away from everything and everyone. He didn't wanted to hurt anyone. He just wanted to go.
"Calm down, Vincent. Help is on its way.." What did she meant? Was he already crazy by now? He re-turned back again at her face as he tried to breathe and hard as he was about to lose it and right in front of everybody here. At Angela's sweet and carrying face.
"Help? I don't need help..I just need to go.." But where? Everything seemed to shrink back into small paces here as the world was spinning around him, weirdly.
"Don't worry..It's gonna be okay..Just breathe here.." Angela had assured him as she kept on approaching him when he felt eyes looking back from behind him. Angela had taken care of everything here.
"You look feverish. Very..Let me take a good look at you.." She tried to assure him when he took out a shivering breath here and shook his head, once again.
"Don't. Stay away from me. I'm not sick.." Or at least, he didn't thought of it. He had no control of any of his actions here. Other than his delusions. Unless, he was already lost with himself and without Catherine, he was far from recovering his humanity. Reclaiming his sanity. You're lost without her and the poison is eating you alive with that conclusion.
"Come to me, Vincent.." Had replied back the other part of himself into the back of his mind as a syringe was tracking him down right through the back of his neck. By one of the men that Angela had sent to help him out. He didn't need to ask who, cause he'd already known why. There were taking him and yet, he had no force or any control over it. Couldn't fight back the nurses from behind. Damn it.
"Calm down, Vincent and everything is gonna be fine here. Trust me here.." Angela had tried to assure him.
"I can't... I can't..I need to see Catherine..She needs..Needs help.." He tried to get away as he felt his own strength slightly starting to let him down as Angela's firms fingers held him tight othrough his forearms.
"Help, on what? Who's Catherine, Vincent? Who is she?" Her expression still remained concerned when he tried to regain his breathing as he looked around seeking for something invisible, that only he could find. He really did looked haunted as the beast had taken back place at his reflection. Only to look at him back with a evil snicker and that look with these amber glowing eyes that could scare the shit out of any normal human being here.
"Vincent?" Angela waited up for answer as she also looked back to the same direction he did but couldn't see nothing while for him, the evil creature still looked up at him, laughing at his face, mockedly because of his feelins and the impossible love Vincent felt for a woman who stopped onto loving him back, for good.
"Catherine. She needs help. She needs help. She needs..I need-" He couldn't let himself finish as he felt his eyeballs roll back up and had collapsed down into the arms of darkness, as Catherine's own image appeared into his mind. Despite being surrounded of the darkness's comfort.
...
"Catherine, I need you here.."
...
"Ayaka?" From the sound of her undercover name, Catherine had woken up from her slumber after meeting up with her partner whom left right after. She had gotten startled not because of the main voice here, but because of a feeling she couldn't get away from. But from what?
She rolled back up from her lying and sleeping position and turned back up to see the person that she had learned to despise over the time she spend with. Òliver Àlvarez. The man looked so different wearing his long white clothe and the blue scrubs he wore underneath it. His blond hair combed from behind and looked handsome as she almost felt naked under the clothes that Vincent had let her wore this morning. Her hair in a toussled mess and being hooked up into a heartbeat machine which it was onto its own normal rhythm. Only for this morning. She expected to make it quick before alarming up Àlvarez and coming up with a better reply. Which she still didn't had. Vincent!
Vincent. Where the heck was he doing by now? He should have gone back to her after he did say he wanted to fetch up some help. Even if he did seemed to look up deadly pale throughtout his skin and from the way his eyes looked. Red and weary, as if he hadn't had any sleep, at all. Something was wrong with him, but what? She did admitted to Tess, that he did worried her.
Blood. She did see blood from this morning and it wasn't from yesterday or from last year, but from today. He did hide something from her. Something very important. Even, if he wasn't into her life anymore, he did remained locked up inside of her heart. As he always had from before. It must have been for that reason that she had woken up for. She heard his voice from the back of her mind and it sounded like it was fading. No, like he was fading away from here. Vincent. He did worried her, way too much here. Because something was wrong with Vincent and not because of Òliver, a man whom she vowed to take down.
And the very one who looked up at her, questionably.
"Ayaka, what are you doing here?"
"It's a long story, you know.." Sighing, Catherine had tried to come up with the best answer she could manage as she tried to find a better position into sitting onto the gurney as she looked up at his eyes and started to do what she was good at. To lie, in order to cover her ass and to spare time for a bit. Hoping that she could at least, help out Vincent to stay away from trouble for a little short of time. She ran her hand through her hair, by trying to think of a better way to think about coming up with a better lie. After all, as Tess had said before with Su Li being dead, it could only lead the case to an dead end now.
Or wouldn't it be?
...
I'M NOT DEAD YET! HA HA HA!
I haven't given up onto this story, I haven't. Just been too much busy, lately. I'm sorry. I know it's not much to deal with, but it's better than nothing. Sorry, if I wasn't able to update faster than I should've had, but with work and covid, it was hard to jungle between two things at once. But I'm clean, don't worry. No sick here. I even gotten my first dose of moderna vaccine three weeks ago! How cool is that?
Anyways, looks now that Catherine's case would soon be over now that Su Li's dead now but still she need to find a way to stop Àlvarez. And she and Tess may need to watch over Lina at even at close range and especially when Lina was the one who made up the setting up here and by doing this, she had gotten herself into trouble. And especially for Tori, when after she had gotten seduced by a cop who happens to be Medina's partner, she is under fire here when she gotten discovered by Vasquez that she had a pregnancy test hidden away.
And yet, had a vision. But what kind?
Looks like things aren't looking out so good Vincent either. Not even he needs to make good figure about hiding the poison away, but looks like his other half is playing tricks onto him now. The beast had tried to make him choose the bad side of him, now that he is at his most vulnerable state and alone. Without the love of his life to save him, this time. And somehow, Catherine had started to notice that something totally fucked up was going on with him. Tess as well and it actually did started to freak her out here, for a second.
I really enjoyed writting up that scene with Vincent dealing with his monstrous side on his own and dealing up with an uncontroling fever and delusions from the from the red gem. Wished, it happened onto the tv show. An sort of an Jerkyll and Hyde moment here, as I've been listened up to the song where Dr. Jerkyll was confronting Hyde, from the musical. Close to that moment as I was writting it. I've loved it any second of it. Vincent is onto a loose end. As for Angela. She is a fictional character I've made up. You must have had seen her in the VinCat One Shots Collection I've made. She's Vincent and Cat's doctor into the One Shots Collection, and appears to be Alex's roomate and friend before Alex left away after Murfield went onto look out for her.
Anyways. Looks like things aren't looking out so good for Vincent here and neither for Catherine. Would she be able to save him, if she can come up to her senses? Looks like Eva is up to something like she's trying to prove something against Lina, but what? Would Àlvarez and Lina would be caught up, at the end? Like the other beast, that Lina is probably thinking about?
Thanks again, beasties for the support, your patience and love. Once again it's always appreciated. I'm not sure when I'm gnna be able update my other stories, but I'll let know with an surprising update. Until next time.
