Meeting Lady K:

Three Years Later

Three years had passed since Koharu and Danzo abducted the children, and a lot of things had changed since then. The children were now three years old, and that meant it was time to get down to business and begin training. Koharu decided she needed to pay a visit to the brats first and evaluate where they were at. Monthly reports weren't always reliable after all.

So on a warm spring day, she left the village, telling Hiruzen and Homura that she was going to a tea festival. The two men believed her because there actually was a tea festival going on in a nearby town. Lucky Her.

Danzo was standing outside the entrance of the compound when she got there. "Danzo, what a surprise. I wasn't expecting you to join me," she said, eyeing the war hawk.

Danzo gave her an eerie grin. "I wanted to surprise you, my dear. Plus, I'm curious to see what you think of our charges," he said.

Koharu quirked an eyebrow. "I see. Well then, we'd better get to it then," she said, not entirely believing his excuse.

The two then preceded to enter the compound. When they entered the main parlor area, they were greeted by Cheetah and Bull. The two salute them and Danzo puts his hand up. "Cheetah, bring the children out," he says.

Cheetah bows, "Yes, my lord," she says, before leaving to retrieve the children.

A moment later, she returns, accompanied by Chameleon. Cheetah is holding Naru's hand. The little girl is dressed in a gray sweater with a white undershirt and a black skirt and white stockings and black dress shoes. Her red hair is cut in a cute bob with a black ribbon. Her bright violet-blue eyes stare at the two adults curiously.

Chameleon is holding on to both Shikamaru and Sasuke. Shikamaru on his left and Sasuke on the right. The Nara heir is dressed in a green kimono jumper with green slippers. His brown hair is cut short to his ears, with brown bangs barely touching his forehead. His brown eyes stare cautiously at the newcomers. Sasuke is dressed in a black jumper, with black ninja sandals. His hair is long enough that he has a bob. His black eyes look curiously at the strangers.

The two Anbu place the children right in front of the two elders and then step back. Koharu never takes her eyes off the children. "Cheetah, how are they progressing?" she says.

Cheetah looks straight ahead as she answers. "They're progressing well, my lady, but don't take my word for it. Ask them yourself," she says.

Danzo smirks as he watches his old comrade look up curiously at his subordinate before looking back at the children. Koharu starts with Shikamaru. "How are you doing? Shadow chan?" she asks.

The three-year-old looks at her with an uneasy look in his eyes. "I'm okay," he says.

Koharu leans down, so she is faced level with him. "And how are your lessons coming along? Are you understanding everything alright?" she says.

Shikamaru swallows hard. Beside him, Naru and Sasuke are watching out of corners of their eyes, just like Cheetah told them to. "Yes, my Lady," he says.

Koharu nods. "Very good. Keep obeying your teachers and everything will be alright," she said.

She then steps away from him and moves over to Sasuke. " How are you doing Fire chan?" she asks.

Sasuke doesn't dare look at Lady K's face. Something inside of him says not to. "I'm doing fine, Lady K," he says. Koharu doesn't appreciate him not looking at her, and she grabs hold of his cheeks and forces him to face her.

Koharu looks him straight in the eye. "Never disrespect me like that again, young man, understand me?" she says.

Sasuke gulps. "Yes, Lady K," he says.

Koharu smirks. "Good boy. Now tell me again, how are you doing?" she asks, letting go of his cheeks.

Sasuke takes a breath. "I'm doing okay, Lady K," he says.

Koharu says nothing, just moves on to Naru. "How are you doing, Kitsune chan?" she asks.

Naru looks straight up at Koharu. "I'm doing fine, Lady K," she says.

Koharu looks at her curiously. "And how are you liking your lessons?" she asks.

Naru answers without missing a beat. "I like them very much," she says.

The answer pleases Koharu greatly. She always knew Naru would be great. "I'm glad to hear that Kitsune chan. Would you like to continue your lessons?" she asks.

The question makes Naru pause. She feels like saying no, but her mind tells her to say yes. Cheetah warned them earlier to be careful about what they said. "Yes, Lady K. I would be grateful to continue learning under Cheetah san, Chameleon san, and Bull san," she says.

Koharu decides she's seen enough. Looking over at Cheetah and Chameleon, she nods. "I'm impressed by what I'm seeing. However, I'd like to see actual development and not staged answers next time, she says, making the two Anbu wince. With that being said, I think it's time to start training," she says.

The Anbu nod. "Yes, my lady," they say.

Koharu glances over at the children one last time before turning away. "Oh, and teach Fire san how to address me next time," says, making Sasuke blush. Koharu then leaves, followed by Danzo.

Danzo looks sternly at his teammate as they leave. "Well? What do you think?" he asks.

Koharu looks up towards the sky. "I've been worried ever since I started this that I made the wrong choice. Now, after seeing the children today, my fears are put to rest. They might not be killers yet, but once we're done with them, no one will dare mess with Konoha again," she says.

Danzo nods. "I have to agree with you. Now we still have the whole day left, why don't we go have some tea?"
