Harry couldn't believe that the man that he had wanted dead for the past five years was now gone and that he had nothing to do with his demise. Since joining the Secret Intelligence Service department of MI6, his mission was clear: REVENGE. He wanted to find any information on Sir Laurence Bishop that could implicate the tycoon in any of the crimes that Harry assumes that he's committed. Harry knows that there has to be some proof of his wrong doings, somewhere.
Subsequently, Harry was asked by his superiors at MI6 to find out what happened to Sir Laurence Bishop, one of the richest men in Great Britain. He decided that even though for years he felt like this man deserved nothing but a horrible death he couldn't in good conscious let his murder go unsolved; if it was a murder at all.
Years ago, Harry and Elliot Bishop, the son of Sir Laurence, had a romantic relationship that ended in tragedy due to the lack of support from the Bishops. It was because of this that Elliot stabbed himself, after receiving an ultimatum from his father to end the engagement to Harry and marry a woman or be denounced from the family.
Looking over the surveillance footage of the platform, Harry knew that he had to find and speak with the young man pictured at the scene.
It wasn't hard with the use of the advanced software that allowed him to clean up the grainy video footage and capture a better image of the witness. It was during the first stage of the search process that Harry was able to acquire a clear facial recognition. From there, all he needed to do was run the image in the DVLA system, which had identified one, Finley Thomas Nelson.
"Well, well Mr. Nelson. You sure are cute but are you an honest citizen, is the question" pondered Harry as he looked at the address listed for Finn. "What did you hear, I wonder?"
Sending a request to the printer, Harry stood grabbing his coat. He knew that Finn was young and would most likely not want to get involved in what was going on. However, as an agent of Her Majesty, Harry could not, not follow up on this lead.
His cell phone rings just as he finishes folding the paper and placing it in his pocket. "Agent Doyle'' he answers, "Hey kid, I need you to be on your P's and Q's, I am patching you over to the Head now," quickly explained his handler, Rebekah Swanson. The phone line made two clicking sounds as a deep voice came on the line, "I need an update Harry '' came the condescending voice of his superior and former lover.
Harry had run in important circles at one time in his life. He thought that he would have it all and then some. But, alas, that all shattered when the love of his life died five years ago. He did not know how to process the loss at first and so he got drunk and experimented with several narcotics. Which eventually led him to falling into bed with his boss and his deceased fiancée's father's friend and partner in crime, Nikolas Cress-Welsh, Head of MI6.
"Nik," he said with just as much disdain as he could muster, "I am heading out to follow up on a lead as we speak." Waiting to end the call quickly, Harry figured that some form of professionalism was needed.
"Do you need any assistance? I would be more than happy to get my hands dirty again in the field" questioned Nikolas.
Harry tried not to gag, since Nik was offering to get his lazy ass up and out of his office, Harry deduced that the call was being monitored. And with additional ears on the line, he did not want anyone to question his abilities as an agent or his ability to be impartial to the Bishop inquiry. It was not a full-blown case yet since it was the train that had killed Sir Laurence Bishop and not the men that had weapons drawn.
The clicking noise sounded again before Harry could answer, I guess whoever was on the other end of the call knows Nik's shit about as well as I do, he thought.
Crassly, Nik confirmed on the line, "so, what are you wearing underneath your slacks?"
"And, he's back" exasperated Harry while rolling his eyes. He wanted to hang up badly as he exited the building, but he knew that if he did then Nik would probably pop up on him at Mr. Nelson's house. The last thing he needed was for the only lead in this inquiry to get spooked by Nik.
Assessing his surroundings, Harry finally made it to his car, "so is there anything you would like for me to ask the potential witness? I know that this inquiry has eyes on it."
He didn't need to ask this question, Harry already knew everything he was going to ask and how to let Mr. Nelson led the interview so that he could get all of the information that he had; however, Nik was a tricky character. He tends to want to play hero sometimes and when those events occur the agent that was lucky enough to be assigned to the Head ended up regretting it later.
"Just make sure that you don't fuck this up, Doyle. A lot of powerful people want to know if this was just Phil's own shit or if this is something bigger" came the authoritative response.
No shit, Sherlock, Harry figured as much at the beginning of this call; but, just like he knew Laurence Bishop well, he also knew that this case was more than what it seemed.
"Roger, over and out" he hung up before Nik could say anything else. Harry wanted to get this over with so he could finally put the Bishops in his rearview mirror.
