When Colton Meets a Guy Named Jason Todd: Chapter One
AN: Hello! I had this idea for a while and I've read tons of Jason/OC but they were female OC so I thought it would be neat if there was a male OC lol so that's how my character Colton Jacobs was born lol.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything from the DC Universe! I only own Colton Jacobs and Olivia Anderson!
Colton Jacobs tried his best to act normal for once, to pretend that he wasn't in pain or sad. Unfortunately, his longtime best friend Oliva Anderson, noticed his mood immediately as she walked towards him with two bottles of beer in each hand, shaking her red curly hair at him in disappointment. "Colton Jacobs!" she exclaimed with annoyed huff and rolled her eyes. "We came here to forget about reality! Remember our plan?"
Colton sighed deeply as he took a swig of his beer that Olivia had handed him, wrinkling up his nose at the acquired taste it has. It kind of reminded him of watered-down soda. "Sorry, Liv, it's just," he trailed off as the memories floated into his mind. "It's kind of hard to forget," he finally manages to say to her.
Olivia placed a comforting hand on his shoulder to show that she cares. "I know Colt, it's just… he was well," she paused, thinking of a way to describe the situation that her best friend was in. "An asshole! He cheated on you! Sorry not sorry! He was lucky I wasn't there! I would be burying a dead body right now!"
Colton had to laugh at her, knowing what she said was true. She's known to watch many murder documentaries so he wouldn't be surprised if somehow she knew how to bury a body and getting away with it thanks to that. He took another swig of his beer and used a thumb to keep up with the beat of the Lady Gaga that the DJ was currently playing. "It's hard not to think about it, Liv," he tried to explain to her. "I literally moved across the country just to be with him. We were even—"
"Engaged," Olivia finished for him, sighing as she took a long swig of her own beer. "I understand, honey," she tells him softly. "I just want you to at least attempt to forget about what happen and to try and have fun for me okay? Pleaseeeeee," she pleaded, giving Colton her best big puppy green eyes.
Colton rolled his eyes at her, reaching out with a hand to push her lightly away from him to give them space. "No promises," he warned her with a scoff. "You know that this isn't my type of club," he said, glancing around at the packed dance floor. There were bodies everywhere, dancing around to a Rihanna song that was playing. He scrunched up his face when he saw opposite sex couples grinding up against each other suggestively to the beat of the music. "It's so straight in here."
Olivia waved him off with a hand. "I'm sure that there's some gay guys here," she tells him, shifting her gaze over to the dance floor. "You want to dance with me?" she asked, moving her feet along to the beat of the music.
Colton shook his head no at her and watched her walk over to the packed dance floor. He sucked in a breath as he leaned back against the wall, looking around until he spotted his best friend dancing with some guy. He rolled his eyes at her before taking the last swig of his beer and decided that it was time to use the restroom.
He followed the signs that would lead him to the restroom. There was only a small line on the woman's side, but there wasn't one for the men's restroom. He sighed as he opened the door, pausing when he noticed that he wasn't alone.
The guy that in the restroom was smoking a cigarette and was leaning causally against the wall, taking a long drag of his bud feeling unbothered that someone had walked in. The guy was decent looking, not that Colton was really staring at him. He was wearing a red hoodie with a pair of jeans. He had short black hair and have green eyes that was similar to Olivia's.
Colton was secretly hoping the guy would put out his cigarette because technically the club was a no smoking zone, which could get a person kicked out if they were caught. "Uh," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "You can't smoke in here," he told him.
"Oh yea?" the guy said, taking a long drag of his bud and purposely blew the smoke into Colton's direction, causing him to use a hand to wave off the smoke. "Are you going to tell on me?"
Colton rolled his eyes at the smugness of his voice and crossed his arms. "Obviously not," he tells him, scoffing at him when the guy with the cigarette put out the bud using the heel of his black boot. "Just do it outside next time."
The guy chuckled at Colton as he walked by him without sparing him another glance as he left the restroom, leaving Colton by himself. He shook his head at the exchange as he went to use the bathroom, making sure to wash his hands after he was done before going back out into the club.
"There you are! Where've you been?" Olivia asked when Colton walked up to her at the bar. "Oh gosh," she says, fanning herself with hand as if she was hot. "That guy was so hot," she said, giggling like a high school girl. She reached into her pocket and waved a small piece of paper around in front of him. "He even gave me his number!"
Colton gave a half-hearted applause. "Good for you," he says, sounding bored in which he was after that encounter in the restroom with the green-eyed stranger. "Can we go now?"
Olivia gave him a quizzical look as if he was being crazy to be leaving a club. "But it's only 11:00!" she exclaimed to him, checking the time on her phone. "Why do you want to leave all of a sudden?"
Colton groaned in annoyance at his best friend and ran a hand through his dark brown hair with frustration. "I'm just not feeling it. My energy is drained especially at the encounter I had with some jerk."
That quirked Olivia's interest as she took a sip of her fruity alcoholic drink and raised a perfect brow. "Oh really?" she said, using a hand to place her chin underneath it to lean in closer to him. "Do tell me. Was he hot at least?"
Colton scoffed at her and rolled his eyes. "It was just some jerk that was smoking in the restroom. Nothing major," he told her with a shrug of his shoulder.
Olivia huffed at his story as she took another sip of her drink. "But was he hot though? You didn't answer the main question here, Colt," she told him with a roll of her eyes at him. "That's the most important part."
Colton considered her question before answering, thinking back to his encounter with the stranger in the restroom. To be quite honest, the guy was attractive to Colton. Not usually his type that he would normally go for, but he was good looking to say at least. He could also tell that the guy had a bad boy type of vibe judging how he was just casually smoking in the restroom without a care in the world.
His ex-fiancé was not like that one bit. He was clean shaven, dressed like he was a millionaire in which he wasn't, but he didn't dress like that guy did. Colton just doesn't understand why, why he would do something like this? He didn't think that he would cheat on him and he couldn't understand why when their relationship was solid for over six years. He even moved away from Gotham City to sunny California to be with him because his ex-fiancé didn't want to be in this crime filled city anymore.
Colton blinked when Olivia snapped her fingers at him to get him out of his thoughts. "Earth to Colton. Are you there? All I wanted to know if the guy was hot or not."
"He was ugly," Colton lied, shaking his head as he grabbed the side of his head when a headache started to form on the side. "Can we leave? I have a headache."
Olivia sighed and placed her glass upside down to let the bartender know that she done. She grabbed a couple of bills to place it on the counter and grabbed Colton's hand to lead them away from the noise of the club. "Fine, let's go."
As the two best friends walked towards the exit of the club hand in hand, Colton looked over on the left side of the club and he could've sworn that he had seen the guy that was in the restroom with him leaning up against a wall with his arms crossed, looking extremely bored. He shook his head when the two walked out into the cool summer night air of Gotham City.
"Well, that was a bummer to said at least," Olivia commented, wrapping her arms around her pale bare shoulders at an attempt to keep herself warm.
Colton side-glanced at her with scoff. "How? You got a guy's number. I thought you would've been jumping for joy at least," he said, shaking his head at his best friend who stuck out her tongue at him. He rolled his eyes at her. "What? You know it's true."
"Yea, but I was actually talking about it being a bummer because of you," Olivia explained, sighing and walked closer to him, looping her arm through his. "I just wanted you to have fun is all… with everything going on."
Colton was about to say something to her when he heard a shriek that was coming from across the street from them. He held up his hand to keep Olivia from asking him what was going on. They heard another scream, and he knew that someone was in trouble. It is Gotham after all.
"Colt," Olivia whispered as best as she could, leaning in close to him. "We need to leave, let someone else like Batman to handle this."
Colton shook his head at her, knowing that by the time the Dark Knight arrives whatever is going on would be too late. He must step in, even if that means he might get hurt in the process. "I have to check this out. Go on without me, don't stop for no one. Understand?"
He could tell that Olivia wanted to protest but knew that nothing she could say would make him back down on his decision to check out what's going on in that alley across from them. Olivia gave him a quick nod and quickly walked down the street.
Colton made his way across the street where the sound was coming from. He heard a laugh from the alley the more he got closer and from his view he could see two men in the alley, and he could also see that there was a woman trying to get away from them but one of the men had a tight grip on her arm.
"Come on," one of the men said, walking closer to the woman who was trying to get away. "Show us a good time, hun. We don't bite."
Colton balled up his fist when the two men laughed when one of them got closer to the woman. He must step in, but he doesn't have any sort of plan nor weapons. All he knew that if he doesn't step in now, that woman could get hurt.
It was now or never.
"Hey!" Colton yelled, walking over closer to the two men and the woman. All three of them looked at him. "Leave her alone!"
The man that was holding onto the woman laughed at him. "Or what?" he asked. "You're gonna try and stop us? I would like to see you try, pretty boy."
"Yea," the second man said with a sneer, pulling out a knife that was in his front pocket. "Try to stop us. We dare you."
Great, just great. Colton thought, wondering how on earth could he possibly stop a guy with a freaking knife.
Maybe this was a bad idea after all.
AN: Yes, I have left you guys on a cliffhanger lol. Please let me know what you think! I am also looking for a beta if anyone is interested! Thank you for reading :)
