Scene 5 - Gabriel in the Lepidopterarium

"I am ready to keep going, a hundred more times, Ladybug," Papillombre muttered to himself clenching his fist.

The lens on the window of his sanctuary began to close, and the bitter defeat of the day's battle set in as the light began to dim.

"One day I will finally win"

How had he lost again? He had been sure he had created a villain too difficult to beat. Ladybug had needed nine - NINE - additional miraculous holders to help her contain his victim, and he was not able to get his hands on a single one?

Gabriel dropped his transformation and stood alone in the dark. Nooroo and Duusu floated silently beside him, knowing better than to speak. Gabriel closed his eyes, imagining himself if he had finally met his goal today.

It was a fantasy he indulged in often. He would merge the two miraculouses of creation and destruction, wielding the ultimate power. He relished in the thought of ripping this reality to shreds. Every last cruel piece of it that had taken his love from him, he would destroy it and build it anew.

What would Emilie say if she could see him now? Trying endlessly to save her but failing every time. He must try harder. Find a different method of attack, a different way to target that damned bug and cat team.

This thought gave him pause. Where was Chat Noir today? He had been watching Pognak closely all afternoon, and he was sure he hadn't captured the feline menace. Had his villain managed to absorb Chat Noir in his civilian form? No, surely he would have sensed the miraculous if he had come into contact with it.

Discovering his enemies' identities was his best bet. He had money and resources. If he knew who his foes were in day to day life, he could corner them in an instance. He would need to discuss with Nathalie putting more resources towards this effort.
