Babyls was completely the amazing school that had been imagined, described by previous attendees. Approaching it revealed various tall buildings in interesting shapes. Inside the gate were various trees and smaller plants grown and maintained in eye-catching ways. Even before entering, the various doors to large rooms held promise for more fun activities in what was a brand new world of possibilities. Everything was going to be different here.

Clara shouted various greetings to her new classmates as she walked outside. Despite how fun the institution seemed on its own, those inside, students and staff alike, were what made up the school. The buildings and outside grounds were just their playground, and this playground was full of demons to meet and have fun with. Clara laughed and smiled as some responded to her greetings. This place really wasn't the same as before.

Reaching an open area, Clara looked around, grabbing the arm of another girl in a student uniform. "Hey," Clara began as she had the attention of the girl, the other students in the group also looking her way. Clara tapped her pockets, manifesting a giant bubble that could be used as a ball. "Let's play! The walls are so tall I bet this won't escape easy! Be careful it doesn't get you!" Clara launched the ball toward her new classmates.

The girl jumped to the side, an expression of surprise on her face. The others ran away as the ball floated back toward them. "That's not how to play! I'll show you! Come on, let's go!" Clara imitated the motions. A boy punched forward with a darted hand, popping the toy. Maybe he didn't know that wasn't the way to play, either. The typical game involved getting the ball as high as they could without it popping or being drawn in. When it popped, it was game over. Luckily, Clara could easily get another of the interesting toys. "Come on, let me show you!" Clara said, reaching up her hand to tap her pocket again.

"Gotta go," one of the classmates said as the others dispersed. "Class is soon."

"Oh." Clara said, frowning as her own bubble of excitement popped. There seemed to be plenty of time. She'd arrived early in her excitement. But others had other things to do. "Later, right?" she said, then looked around for others who may not need to do things so early. "Leapfrog!" Clara shouted as she launched off another student's shoulders who had bent down to pick something up. "Come on, come on!" Clara said, hunching down for them to take their turn. Instead, the students all cleared away. "Hey. Do you want to play something before class?" Clara asked, approaching those who just entered the gate.

The other students exchanged glances, not even answering as they went on their way. Clara watched them silently as they went. They were upperclassmen. They could be busy like the rest, or just not want to bother with a first year. But things really were going to be different, weren't they?

Getting a tour after various interesting events, Clara found herself in the cafeteria. Running around to find someone to sit with, others diverted their eyes, or suddenly made their conversation louder. There were still plenty of other students around. Running around to find someone less distracted or otherwise occupied, a shop was discovered.

"Woah," Clara exclaimed, observing the interesting objects closely. There were even some things she'd seen before, though of course now, she'd seen them all.

"Hey, the line's there," one of her classmates pointed out, jostling Clara to the side.

"I see," Clara muttered, seeing the various students lined up, staring intently to the front, one taking out a small wallet. The way to gain their attention became obvious. "Hey," Clara approached the next in line. "What do you want?" she asked the other demon girl, who didn't respond right away. Clara activated her magic, taking out various objects, eager to show what she could offer. "This? Maybe this?" Clara brought out snacks before one of the more expensive looking items. Clara laughed as many eyes pointed her way. "I'll get it right away! Then maybe we can play. Maybe you want-"

Before she could continue with her offers, the shop owner flew out, accosting her. The expressions of her classmates changed to annoyance as Clara dodged him, running into some of them. When the owner returned to his shop, Clara turned to the demons next to her, recognizing one from before. "Hey! I can still get you something!" Clara peeked toward the shop before tapping her pockets again. "What's your favorite game to play? Have you heard of-" she began, but the others just turned their backs to her.

In the face of the silence, Clara went to the farthest table from the shop, slumping over and sighing. Maybe she should tone things down a little. In this new and different place, maybe Clara had to be different as well, going at others' pace when it came to activities or conversation.

"What's this?"

Clara looked up, seeing a muscular classmate sitting across from her, staring her way. She sat up as she noticed his intense presence. Clara then sulked despite it, leaning down again. "No one wants to play. Maybe I've got to back off."

"Is that your ambition?" the large demon replied.

"Huh?" Clara sat up again. "Um, yeah, I guess. I definitely want to play. More and more games, with everyone. I've got a lot of ideas to have fun!"

"Hmph." Clara's classmate smirked. "Then why give it less effort?" he asked.

"Oh!" Clara exclaimed, her back going straight as she considered the question.

"Maybe you need to shower the peons with more of that ability to get them to do your bidding. Is that not within your power?"

Clara nodded with exaggeration. "It is!" she admitted. This guy was right, what was she thinking? Less never led to more. If she really wanted their attention, maybe she hadn't been trying hard enough. She could try harder and harder still. She could give all she had, a vast stockpile of presents to give and energy to expend in getting her classmates to pay her mind and play like she wanted.

"Then that's that, isn't it?" the guy said, turning from the table.

"Wait, wait," Clara said as it seemed he was about to leave. She could start with him, couldn't she? "What do you want?" she asked, getting ready to manifest it and more for a possible new playmate.

"To be the Demon King!" he exclaimed as he stood up.

Clara paused. She certainly couldn't manifest that impressive ideal. "Wow. You're gonna do that?" Clara giggled as she looked at her now departing classmate's back. Was this guy really this tall, or did it just seem that way because she was sitting down? Either way, he seemed strong and powerful. "That's cool! Bet you could beat some teachers already."

Clara's supporter glanced back briefly with a smile. "That would be an impressive feat, wouldn't it," he declared before walking off. As he left, Clara herself stood, looking around the area at the many other students she might play with. Her momentary discouragement was gone. Nothing was going to stop her enjoyment there. She just needed to give more and more in order to rightfully earn it.
