Subaru was smiling as he watched the kids in the village play around. He had come early in the morning by request from some of the parents. The kids had missed him immensely since last they saw him so he decided to spend his morning with them. He had happily agreed, wanting a chance to leave the mansion and have fun for a bit.

It had been simple: he had shown them some radio calisthenics which they found amusing. Even deciding to do some of their own stretches mid way through, though he had found it hard to copy them due to his adult body. Ending up with him falling and making a fool of himself. While the kids laughed.

From there they just played games and had fun like kids did. Even some of the parents had joined in playing with their kids. It was relatively peaceful. Until a child-like voice rang in his head. 'What's Baru doing?'

He smirked. Typhon, the youngest, at least in terms of looks, of the witches, being over four hundred years like the rest of them. She was cute, nice and easily one of the better witches. At least if she didn't think of you as a sinner. If she did, she was your worse nightmare in loli form.

Luckily she had no problem with him and they seemed to form a nice friendship. Him treating her like a second or third daughter.

'Playing, though I doubt it'd be the same as four hundred years ago,' he answered.

Typhon looked at the children and parents through the crystal. 'They look happy.'

"Well playing does that, I'm sure you have some fond memories of playing with kids yourself.'

'Nope.'

'What do you mean nope, do you just not remember it?' He didn't want to think that Typhon had been a loner growing up. Not with her bright and cheery personality

'No. Typhon just never played with other kids. Her daddy said that they'd corrupt her, make her a sinner.'

This left Subaru stunned. He hadn't met the man. Heck, this was one of the only times she's ever brought him up. All he knew about him was that he punished 'sinners' just like her. But had he seriously prevented Typhon from playing with other kids? If so, he's just topped Puck for worst father award.

'Of course he turned out to be a sinner as well.'

'What?' He couldn't have heard that right could he?

'Yep, he's the first person Typhon ever judged,' she said happiness leaking through her voice. Like she was recalling a fond memory

Subaru was silent, unable to fathom that Typhon was talking about having killed her father so nonchalantly. Yes, he was a bad person who had made the foundation for Typhon's sense of judgment, but he was still her father. Surely she'd feel something other than happiness about killing him?

'But you must have had some fun memories with him right?'

'Yep, Daddy showed Typhon all about sinners.'

'I was meaning more along the lines of playing with you.'

'Oh then no. Daddy always said that sinners never took breaks, so as a person whose job it is to punish them, he shouldn't either.'

That was worse. Seriously, what type of father didn't make time to play with his child every once in a while? Even Puck did it with Emilia.

'Haha, nice joke Typhon.'

'Typhon's being serious, Baru. Typhon's never played with children before.'

'But surely you must have had someone before the witches?' he asked, hoping that she had someone to look after her. No insults to the witches but they certainly weren't the most normal people he's met since coming to the world.

'Nope, in fact Mommy was the first friend Typhon ever made!' she stated proudly, like it was a badge of honor.

This just saddened Subaru more. Sure, Typhon may be over zealous about punishing sinners but that didn't mean that she deserved to be alone. And to spend her childhood like that hurt him. No child should ever go through that.

'I see… Hey Typhon, would you want to play with me?" he asked, already forming a plan.

'Sure Baru!'

He knew that taking a nap with a bunch of mischievous children around wasn't the best idea, but Typhon was worth any prank they'd pull. He would give Typhon happy memories!

Opening his eyes he saw the same grassy fields as the last time he visited, only this time, a small tanned girl in a beautiful dress was waiting for him. Balancing on the balls of her feet, clearly excited for him to be there.

He chuckled as he readied himself. "So Typhon, ready to play."

"Yep, Typhon is ready Baru!" exclaimed the Witch of Pride excitedly, making him smile.

Now there was one perk that Echidna had given him, though small. While in the tea party, he could conjure any object he wished, as long as it wasn't anything clearly dangerous in her mind. He had spent an entire morning doing nothing but thinking up things and seeing if he could create them to see just how much power he held.

So in his hand he conjured a rubber ball, nothing dangerous, so that the two of them could toss it around, "Good catch!" he exclaimed, lightly hitting the ball to her. Which she caught but stumbled with.

"Good job Typhon," he clapped. "Now hit it back." Typhon nodded, understanding the nature of the game easily. Though there was one problem the two had failed to account for; The strength of the Witch of Pride.

Typhon hit the ball with all her might, sending it at Subaru faster then he had expected. He was given him no time to react as the rubber ball hit him in the face , throwing him onto his butt as he was knocked off balance. The young witch's eyes widen as she realized her mistake.

"I'm sorry Baru I must have hit it too hard!" she exclaimed, worried she'd hurt her friend

Subaru chuckled "No worries it just surprised me that's all I'll be ready next"

*thud* "time," as the ball came down onto his head. He was thankful he had made the ball rubber instead of something hard or he might have gotten a concussion.

Subaru rubbed his head as Typhon went and patted him on it, hoping that would help numb the pain. Subaru just smiled at the witch for her concern.

A couple minutes later, the two were happily tossing the ball around, this time more carefully so as to not hurt one another. They then played tag Subaru going slow to make it fair for Typhon, that is until she started flying. That was when Subaru realized they weren't bound by real world laws.

Their simple game of tag had started on the ground and finished in the air with the two flying after one another, conjuring obstacles to impede their pursuer. Laughing and giggling all the way as they conjured stranger and stranger obstacles. Like jelly, mayonnaise, a giant octopus and a clown.

Finally, the two ended their little play date with hide and seek. A whole forest appearing to make it easier to hide instead of the grassy plains. Allowing them to hide in trees and logs allowing for hours of fun.

Until the two were tired out laying on a hill, Subaru having Typhon on his chest, the two smiling contently at the fun they had just experienced.

"So how was that Typhon, was that the most fun you ever had?" asked Subaru, smiling already knowing the answer.

"Yep Baru, that was the most fun Typhon has had in a loooong time," yawned the witch. The activities had tired the young witch.

"Good cause I have one last thing for you before I go. A gift for you."

"Really?"

"Yep, now close your eyes while I get it ready and no peeking I don't want to ruin the surprise~" he teased.

Typhon nodded her head eagerly as she did so wondering what Subaru planned to give her. As Subaru conjured up two things a body mirror in front of them and a beautiful flower crown. One made of bright flowers in a variety of colors. Perfect for Typhon.

He slowly lowered it onto her head before nodding in approval once it was in the right spot. "Okay Typhon open your eyes~" he sang

Typhon did and instantly saw Subaru's gift, squealing in delight. It was so colorful and pretty. She loved it.

"It's wonderful Baru thank you!" yelled Typhon turning around to face him and giving him a big hug which he returned.

"No problem, I figured a beautiful princess deserved a beautiful crown. I hope you treasure it forever."

"Typhon will Baru it's a promise," she sighed cuddling into his arms as he gently rocked her.

Before long, Subaru heard the sound of light snoring as he felt Typhon fall asleep in his grasp. Subaru chuckled, lightly cooing at the sleeping witch before picking her up and heading out to find Sekhmet, knowing that the Witch of Sloth would look after her.

Not long after, Subaru let out a yawn in the real world, returning from the playdate as a crowd of kids around him giggled before running off when they noticed him start to reawaken. He was confused, but when he was about to get up he felt something fall off his head. He looked and smiled at the object

A flower crown similar to the one he gave Typhon.
