Scene 17 - Adrien in an Alley
Chat Noir landed in the alley, and turned to smile again at Ladybug.
"De-transformation," he happily called, revealing his civilian form. He still couldn't get over that she knew who he truly was. It had only been a little over a week since he told her, and to him it seemed like his new strategy of wooing the girl of his dreams was working. She had stopped complaining about his flirting, and even joked back with him from time to time.
"Well, see you next time, M'lady"
He turned to go, but Ladybug stopped him by grabbing his hand.
"Wait!" she said. "I am… I am ready this time."
Adrien could hear his heartbeat increase, the blood rushing to his ears. Was this really happening? Was he going to know who she was, finally, after all this time?
He didn't dare speak, not wanting to say anything that might make her change her mind. Ladybug took a deep breath, and then spoke the command to return to her civilian form.
"De-transformation"
Dark hair. Bluebell eyes. Her perfect, nervous, smile. Adrien wanted to speak, but he couldn't. There was no air in his lungs. He… he couldn't be this lucky, could he?
Marinette Dupain-Cheng was standing in front of him. Marinette was Ladybug. He was in love with Marinette.
"Well… say something!" She finally cried out.
But Adrien was too happy for words. How could he express this emotion with only words. No language would do it justice.
"Now that you know that it is me… you probably don't love me anymore," Marinette said, looking disappointed.
Adrien remembered what Nino had said. "Marinette is totally in love with you!"
The final piece clicked in Adrien's brain.
Marinette loves me, he thought. LADYBUG loves me.
He couldn't let her go on one more second thinking that he didn't return her feelings
"No!" he exclaimed. "I just discovered that one of my best friends… is the one I love and admire more than anyone else in the world!"
It was the happiest moment of Adrien's life. He embraced Marinette in a hug, and they stood there in each other's arms, finally happy.
Nothing could ruin this.
