"Here we are, the Tree of Life." Brendan said, as the group finally reached the main entryway. "What do you sense Ash?"
"I don't know, this whole place is filled with aura. I can feel and hear some things, but I'm not sure where to go." Ash admitted.
"Then we stick together." Drew said. "We move as a team until we know where we're going."
"Shouldn't we still be moving as a team then especially?" May asked.
"Did your informant say how the tree would heal you?" Wally wondered aloud.
"No they did not." Ash said. "They didn't really explain how this could cure me, just that it could."
"Could? As in there's a chance it won't?!" May said in a panic. "Ash please tell me you got this information from a reliable source."
"That depends, do you count a version of me from a parallel dimension a reliable source?" Ash asked.
"And I'm going to need a better explanation than that." Drew said.
"I really don't have a better one, sorry." Ash apologized in Drew's general direction.
"You need to leave." A voice called out.
"We don't want to hurt anything, we're trying to heal our friend." Wally said.
"The tree will not help you." The voice continued. "You all must leave before it's too late."
"Or what? There's seven of us, and you haven't even shown yourself." Brendan said. "We already defeated three guardians, what else can you throw at us?"
"Brendan! Rule number one of facing a mysterious booming voice! Never ask them to throw more at you!" Roxy said, as the tree began to shake.
"Can't argue with that, and I don't even know what's happening." Ash said, as he stumbled slightly.
Suddenly the tree stopped shaking, and all was eerily calm.
"See, nothing to ahhhh!" Brendan screamed, as a hole opened up beneath him and May.
"Brendan!" Wally shouted, only for him and Drew to be sucked into a hole from a wall.
"Guys my senses are going crazy? What's happening?!" Ash called out.
"Just stay there, we'll come to you!" Roxy said, only for a third hole to take her and Flannery.
'ASHTON I RECOMMEND WE RUN!' The Primal Force shouted, only for Ash to be scooped up by something they couldn't sense.
With Brendan and May
"Come on come on." Brendan said, slapping his head.
"What are you doing?!" May screamed as they were falling for what seemed like forever.
"Desine nostros casus!" Brendan shouted, remembering the spell, as he and May slowed to a stop. "Levitation spell." Brendan said, catching his breath.
"Glad I fell with you then." May said, as the two finally touched solid ground. "Where do you think we are?"
"I'm not sure, we fell a long way." Brendan said, turning on a flashlight. "Looks like a garden almost."
"Beneath a giant tree?" May questioned.
"I'm just saying." Brendan said. "Hey what's this?" Brendan asked out loud, moving some vines.
"A bunch of rocks?" May asked.
"I don't think they're just rocks." Brendan said, opening his Pokédex. "Here, look at this."
"It looks just like Regirock!" May exclaimed. "But I thought Lucario said it was a guardian at one time."
"Something must have happened, we need to get out of here before whatever did that finds us." Brendan said, only to see some plants moving as something large came out from them.
"MEGGGGG!" The giant Meganium called out.
"Come on! Not you again!" Brendan shouted. "Arcanine, let's go! Use Fire Blast!"
"Beautifly use Silver Wind!" May called out.
The two attacks combined, blasting into the giant Meganium as it turned into a storm of petals.
"Brendan, can Meganium normally do that?" May asked.
"Nope." Brendan said.
"Good to know." May said. "Snorunt help us out with an Ice Beam attack!"
As the Meganium reformed, one of its legs was frozen solid, keeping it from turning back into petals.
"Great! Now Arcanine use Extremespeed!"
"Beautifly use Gust! Snorunt use Ice Beam!"
The Meganium was quickly frozen between Snorunt's attack combined with the wind from Beautifly and then shattered by Arcanine.
"Come on, let's move!" Brendan said, rushing to where Meganium came from.
Elsewhere with Wally and Drew
"Look out below!" Wally shouted, as he fell into the room with a splash.
"Great, just what I wanted." Drew said, seeing the underground lake they had landed in. "Let's just get out and see if we can figure out where to go."
"Roger that." Wally said, while swimming to shore.
"Okay let's see if we can find a way out of here." Drew said, seeing the way they came in had closed.
"Drew I hate to say it, but I don't think there are many ways out of here." Wally said, walking around the stone room. "Wait Kirlia use Teleport!"
Wally and Kirlia disappeared, and then moments later reappeared.
"Well Wally, did you find a way out?" Drew asked.
"Yes, but I don't think you want to go there." Wally shuddered.
"There is one way we haven't tried." Drew said, looking at the pond.
"Have any water types?" Wally asked.
"None." Drew sighed.
As the two dove deeper into the lake, they saw a rusted statue all the way at the bottom, as they were nearing it, both were thrown out of the water.
"What happened!" Wally exclaimed, watching as the giant Feraligatr formed from the water.
"Roselia come out and use Petal Dance!"
Drew's Roselia spun out, surrounding the two trainers in petals, obscuring them from view of the Feraligatr.
"Now!" Drew called out as the petals dispersed. "Absol use Night Slash! Flygon use Dragon Breath! Butterfree use Silver Wind! Roselia use Solar Beam!"
"Cacturne use Needle Arm! Vibrava use Sand Tomb! Kirlia use Magical Leaf! Farfetch'd use Poison Jab!" Wally called out.
The two teams of Pokémon leapt at the giant Feraligatr, only for it to melt into a puddle before reforming behind them and slamming the group into a wall.
"Kirlia now use Psychic!"
The fake Kirlia faded away as Feraligatr was lifted into the air with ease, it's watery formed trapped in the psychic energy.
"Flygon use Flamethrower full power!" Drew called out, watching the Feraligatr evaporate into mist.
"The pond should be clear now, let's go!" Wally said, diving in.
With Roxy and Flannery
"Why do I get the feeling this is your fault." Flannery said angrily, as her Fire types tried melting a way out.
"My fault! I'm stuck here too! Or did you forget that!" Roxy argued.
"Oh right, how could I forget? Little Miss Roxy can do nothing wrong." Flannery said annoyingly. "Like kiss another girls boyfriend, steal his attention, or cause them to argue enough to break up!"
"I never…". Roxy paused. "I didn't know, look there's someone that watches over me, kind of like a sister, and she will push me in the direction she believes to be best from time to time. And don't get me wrong Ash is attractive, but if I had known I would never have acted on it."
"JUST SHUT UP!" Flannery screamed.
"Flannery." Roxy said worridley.
"WHAT ARE YOU SCARED? GOOD, YOU SHOULD BE!" Flannery screeched.
"Flannery look out!" Roxy shouted, tackling the fire type trainer to the ground as a icy being flew past them.
"What is that thing?!" Flannery said in shock.
"If I knew, I'd probably be less scared." Roxy said.
In the center of the room, flames shot out of the lava pit, the giant Typhlosion standing in the center, looking right at the icy being. The Typhlosion let off a blast of fire, melting the being down to just a puddle, before turning to the two girls.
"Magcargo use Rock Slide!"
"Aerodactyl use Rock Slide!"
Magcargo and Aerodactyl launched rocks between their trainers and the Typhlosion, blocking its fiery wrath for a little while.
"Do you have a plan?" Roxy asked.
"Houndoom's ability, it's like Arcanine's." Flannery said. "If I can have him draw in the fire attacks, maybe you can cool it off."
"Sounds good. Lapras come out and use Blizzard!" Roxy called.
Roxy and Lapras rushed out one direction, while Flannery and Houndoom rushed out the other, keeping the Typhlosion's focus on them.
"It's too hot! Lapras can't summon any ice!" Roxy called out.
"I'm going to hate this!" Flannery groaned. "Castform use Rain Dance!"
Castform flew about the room, summoning a powerful rain as the lava began to cool from it.
"Alright! Lapras use Hydro Pump!"
Lapras spun in place, realigning itself as it blasted Typhlosion with a powerful stream of water.
"Now Aerodactyl use Rock Slide!"
"Magcargo you use Rock Slide too!"
Typhlosion was buried beneath the falling rocks, finally giving the two girls a break.
"Look, I'm sorry about what happened." Roxy said, catching her breath. "But I don't think I caused Ash to end things, or even want to. It was a mistake and I apologized to him right after."
"But you still showed up in Pallet." Flannery said.
"For Daisy Oak, the girl has three ribbon cups." Roxy said with a laugh. "Look at us, we're arguing over a boy, that isn't even relevant."
"Heh, yeah." Flannery chuckled. "Come on let's see if we can get back to him before he walks off a cliff."
Elsewhere, deep in the tree
"Wake up Ash." The mysterious voice said.
