Su-Han was waiting on Marinette's balcony when Ladybug returned to Earth. He had seen first hand the chaos that had just consumed the city, and had seen when the two heroes took off that Chat Noir had actually bothered to show up this time.
"So, do you know who Chat Noir is?" he wasted no time demanding of Ladybug, as soon as she landed on the balcony.
"No." the young girl replied with unforeseen confidence.
Su-Han was insulted that she thought she could so blatantly disobey him.
"What?" he asked, his tone rising. "I thought I prevented you.."
"I don't want to hear it," Ladybug interrupted him. "I've proven to you that I am a good guardian. And Chat Noir and I are exceptional superheroes. And YOU! How many times have you told us that we were doing nothing but you were wrong? Your judgement is based on your fears, not our actions."
Ladybug's words hit closer to home than she may have realized. In truth, Su-Han was not sure what he was doing. Under his own leadership, the guardians had been wiped out for over 100 years… he was doing his best to restore order, to fix what he had allowed to be broken, and the only way he knew how to do that was by instilling discipline, the same way he was taught.
But that had clearly not worked for him the first time around, and he agreed that he couldn't let fear govern his decisions. Marinette was doing much better than he expected as guardian. Perhaps he should give her more leeway.
"You are not wrong, Ladybug. Maybe I'm worried for nothing," he replied. "You are a guardian like I've never seen before in my 100 years of being one."
The young guardian looked pleased by his acceptance.
"What do you say?" Su-Han offered, raising his fist in the air the same way he'd seen her and her teammates do before.
Ladybug smiled and returned the fist-bump.
"Bien joué!"
