For prompt 15: Hidden scars
"We match," Alex said and pulled down his collar.
There, like a mirror image to Yassen's own, was a ruler-straight scar. A graze wound from a bullet.
"Who did that?" Yassen said, for once fighting to keep his voice even.
Alex shrugged. "Didn't see them. Too busy kayaking down a waterfall at the time." There was a challenge in his eyes now. "They were chasing me in a helicopter. Ironic, isn't it? History repeating itself?"
"Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. George Santayana," Yassen quoted dully. "Maybe it's time we talked again, little Alex."
