Okey-dokey, so while the Zodiac team is being reworked, this is an idea that's been bouncing around in my head for a while now, a team based on fairytales and written lore, much like Kamen Rider Saber, except without as many heroes, like only five good Cures and one evil Cure. I'll be working on this because of so much potential for something like this for a lot of stuff, so here we go! (opens a book to show the Disclaimers)

Disclaimers: I don't own Pretty Cure, as all the rights go exclusively to Toei for that brand. This is a fanmade series for entertainment purposes only.

Within a small bedroom, a book slowly opened as a voice started to read from the passage:

"Long ago, there was a beautiful land populated by all manner of creatures and stories. A land so majestic that even the rulers were always amazed by the land they called home. The land was called Story World and it is the place where legends and stories of old are born.

"But this world could not truly exist without a protector. Three girls with the power of Story World called Pretty Cure. The Pretty Cures were guardians and loyal soldiers to their people. But not only were they soldiers, they were wonderful civilians who always cared for their people. They kept the peace for a long time."

"However, that peace could not last forever. There was a horrible plan in place by some of the rebels that the kingdom faced, a few people who's stories couldn't be happy in the end and were willing to steal the books from the Legendary Library to rewrite their endings. Luckily the Pretty Cure caught wind of it and helped stop the rebellion before it could start, but at the price of losing their powers and one of their own."

"The kingdom remained at peace for several decades, but then there was a horrible incident. The Cure that had been lost had been corrupted by the evil and sent to fight the soldiers, not even recognizing her own friends. She created despair and fear in the hearts of the kingdom's populace, destroyed one of her old friends, and allowed the darkness and rebels to take control and steal the books from the Library.

"But the young Princess of the kingdom, Ryuna Adele Shiawasena Mi Amor, had a plan in motion to keep her kingdom from falling horribly. She and a few other fairies confided in the remaining Cure, the warrior named for the great phantom thief Lupin, and asked her to hide in the human world with several stories' powers and four fairies. These five are the last hope for both worlds..."

Closing the book was a woman who looked like she was in her late twenties with a pale complexion, black hair, and dark sea green eyes as she smiled at her young eight year old daughter, who looked almost like her save for the slightly darker complexion.

The girl was smiling excitedly. "Do you think the Pretty Cures are gonna come back one day, Momma?"

The older woman smiled and kissed the girl's forehead. "I have no doubt in my mind, Nikki. Now it's bedtime, sweetheart." She tucked Nikki into bed.

Nikki smiled and hugged her teddy bear happily as she closed her eyes. "I wish I could be a Pretty Cure!"

Chiasa chuckled lightly and held her daughter's hand. "Keep believing it in your heart and one day your dream can come true." She brushed her hair before she turned the lights off and headed out of the room.

Nikki smiled and nodded before she slowly fell asleep, thinking to herself, "One day I will be a Pretty Cure and make a new legend."

The story begins! Dance on, Cure Royal!

Five years later...

Nikki woke up to the sound of her alarm going off and yawned tiredly before shutting her alarm off. "Morning already? Sheesh... And it's my first day at a new school too..." She blinked when she realized what she had said and checked the date again, her eyes sparkling as she gasped excitedly. "My first day at the new school! Yahoo!"

She put her clock down and leapt out of bed, going to her closet and pulling out her uniform before she remembered something else. "Oh yeah!" She went to her desk drawer and pulled out a small journal, opening it up and using a green sparkle pen to write in the journal:

My name is Nikki Kamihime, and I'm starting my first day at Kodenzaka Middle School today! I've been holding on to my dream of becoming a Pretty Cure since Mama read me the story years ago, but I'm sure everyone might think of that idea as silly. Even so, that's also why I want to become an author one day! I want to help spread stories of my adventures to all the kids and help them learn that Imagination is their life!

She finished the entry and closed her journal quickly, going to her uniform and getting it on, but of course having difficulty with it at some points. She got her shirt and skirt on fine, but she had trouble with her socks, losing her balance multiple times as she tried to stand on one foot to get said socks on one at a time.

Eventually she got herself back up and got her shoes on in the same manner before she sat down again and brushed her hair into a half ponytail in the back while letting the rest of her hair down and tied on a green ascot, afterwards picking up a necklace with a sterling silver book on it and clipping it on, smiling as she looked at the charm. "Alright! Let's get to it!" She got up and pumped her fist in the air. "Start my story!"

Meanwhile in an Edo era style house, the former Pretty Cure who had been Cure Lupin, or known in her human form as Kairi Tougami, was awake and already making some morning breakfast for herself and her companions, flipping an omelette and shaking in some spices.

A voice spoke up from behind her, "Is breakfast ready - dechu?" She looked over and saw a small mouse rubbing her tired eyes.

The mouse was clearly different from many mice; for one, she had green fur and a light green stomach area, her eyes were a bright blue in color, and she had a dark green bow with a small book on her right ear. And for another, she was floating in midair. The little mouse was none other than one of the four fairies of legend.

Kairi smiled and chuckled. "It'll be ready in two minutes, Cinder. Why don't you get the others up?"

Cinder nodded and smiled. "Okay!" She flew to the next room and peeked in. "Hey, guys! Kairi-chan has breakfast just about ready - dechu!"

The other three fairies slowly woke up, one fairy being a purple owl with golden eyes, a light purple underbelly, and a dark purple cape around his body, another being a red wolf with a white underbelly, brown eyes, and a dark red hooded cape on her body, and the third being a small pink pheasant with light purple eyes who was dressed in a dark pink kimono.

The quartet flew into the dining room as Kairi came out with a large omurice for them divided into four equal pieces and a regular sized omurice for herself, setting the plates down and taking her seat as they sat down as well.

"Let's eat!" They took a bite from their meal and smiled excitedly before they kept eating.

Merlin, the owl fairy, looked over at Kairi and spoke in a soft masculine voice. "Kairi, last night I had a dream about the rebellion - fuku. I'm worried they might be searching for us soon - fuku."

Kairi looked at the purple fairy and regarded her words carefully, nodding slightly after a moment. "Yeah, I can see why. After ten years, they'd probably be getting stronger."

"Do you think it's time to get our new Pretty Cure - lobo?" Howl, the red fairy, looked at her curiously.

Kairi nodded. "Yes, the time has come." She got up and went to her room, returning moments later with a small box that she opened up, revealing small pocket sized books with the pictures of famous stories on the cover, each book matching the fairy in color. "Once our breakfast is done, we'll have to go look for the new Pretty Cures. With their help, we'll be able to reclaim the Legendary Library and spread the magic of the stories throughout the world once again."

Oniki, the remaining fairy, smiled a bit and nodded. "I guess it's a good thing you took on a teacher job at the local middle school, huh - kiji?"

Kairi chuckled and smiled. "So true, Oniki. Plus, it'll give me some good practice with being a teacher again. I haven't done it in forever." She thought back to her studies in Story World, remembering the smiles on the childrens' faces and their enjoyment of reading. "It'll be nice to see someone enjoying a good book again."

Cinder looked over. "I heard there's a new student coming to the school too - dechu! All the way from America - dechu!"

"Kairi perked up and looked at her. "Is that so? Well, I guess I'll have to make a good first impression for her." She finished her tea and stood up, looking at the fairies. "You four remember your disguises, right?"

The fairies nodded and flew to an open space before they transformed in four smoke puffs that color coordinated with each other, revealing four fair skinned middle schoolers with hair and eyes that matched their fairy forms and school uniforms that had their signature colors on their ascots. "Ready!"

Kairi nodded her approval. "Alright! Let's go get our home back!" She put her hand in the middle.

The fairies piled their hands on hers with a unified "Yeah!"

Meanwhile, within the land of Story World, the buildings were smouldering like pages and ashes floated everywhere as several monsters roamed the area, looking for stragglers.

The villagers who had managed to escape with the princess, Ryuna, were all hiding in a passage of secret tunnels that allowed them to keep everyone fueled and alive.

Ryuna was helping a family with some cooking and smiling as she passed a bowl of vegetables over to the older woman. "Here you are, Amelie."

Amelie nodded and smiled at Ryuna. "Thank you, Princess."

Ryuna nodded back. "You're quite welcome." She turned and saw one of Amelie's kids coming over, so she picked the little one up. "Up you go."

Amelie chuckled as she watched them. "I'm glad you're good with kids."

Ryuna nodded and sighed softly as she thought about the events that had transpired. "I just wish we could have saved everyone... Even your husband and my parents." She looked at Amelie. "I'm really sorry."

Amelie smiled and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Hey, you're doing your best right now to protect those of us who weren't turned by darker endings. You're one of the best leaders we've had in ages and you haven't given up yet. I see no reason for you to do so now."

Ryuna looked at Amelie and smiled before she nodded. "Yeah. And I promise I will keep us all safe."

Up in the castle, a dark mass was sitting in the throne and observing the city of Kodenzaka, its red eyes narrowed in disgust as it spoke in a feminine voice. "Such a pathetic little town and so many happy people..."

A young woman was observing the fight as well as she smirked slightly. "Makes you want to just end their lives all over the place, hm?"

The mass looked at her and chuckled lightly as it held out a tendril and, with a dark pulsing orb of blackness, created a book that looked similar to the small books the fairies had, but was a dark grey on the cover and more warped. "Why don't you show the humans what it truly means to fear a horrid ending, Drizella?"

Drizella smirked and accepted the Akumumon book, nodding a bit. "Let's see them endure a nightmare." She teleported off in a light puff of mint scented clouds.

Back in Kodenzaka, Nikki was waiting outside the classroom door calmly as she smiled at the students coming in and greeting them. "Morning! Morning!" She saw Kairi and the humanized fairies walking past her as she saw Cinder and looked at her curiously.

Cinder caught a glimpse of Nikki and almost immediately felt a connection to her, the girls locking eyes for a brief moment.

"Hey, Cinder." Howl looked at the green haired girl. "Let's go."

Cinder blinked slightly before she looked at Howl. "Y - yeah." She followed her into the classroom.

Nikki frowned as she watched them head in. "What in the world...?" She shrugged it off and remained waiting for her introduction.

Inside the classroom, Kairi smiled at the class as she got her files sorted. "Hello, everyone. I'm Kairi Tougami and I'll be your new teacher. Now as I'm sure you all know, not only are you getting a new teacher, but also a new student." She looked at the door. "You can come in now, miss."

Nikki heard Kairi's voice call out to her and she got up, heading into the room and looking at the class nervously. "Uh... Hello... I... I'm Nikki Kamihime..."

"No need to fret, miss." A male voice spoke up as a different student stood up and smiled at her. "I understand that every student is nervous on their first day. I can't tell you how many times I've had to help the students coming out of their shells. Even Ms. Inugami has been in your position before." He motioned to a dark red headed student who had her nose buried in a book.

Nikki looked at the boy and smiled a bit before she nodded, looking at the class with renewed confidence. "Hi, everyone! I'm Nikki Kamihime and my dream is to become an author of a wonderful story!"

Kairi smiled as she looked at Nikki. "That sounds quite ambitious, Nikki. Could you explain your reasoning behind it?"

Nikki held her necklace charm as she smiled excitedly. "Whenever I read a book, I always feel like I'm teleported to the world within. I want to eventually create the same feeling for those who love stories as well. I have had a belief since childhood that Imagination is everyone's life! No matter what genre it turns out to be!"

Kairi noticed Nikki's ambition and, using a special ability she had had since her birth in Story World, secretly looked inside Nikki's heart and saw a shining book with no specks of black splotches whatsoever; any black spots would mean that her inner story would be turning towards a bad ending, but she could tell this kid had a bright future ahead of her... and maybe something else as well?

Returning her focus, Kairi nodded a bit and smiled. "Sounds absolutely magnificent, Nikki. Well, why don't you take a seat next to the young man over there and we can get started?"

Nikki nodded to her. "Okay, Ms. Tougami!" She walked over and sat down beside the dark purple haired boy, noticing a small pin on his chest. "Oh, are you a student council member, perchance?"

"The boy smiled at her. "That's right, Miss. Student Council President, to be exact. My name's Souta Kishin. Nice to meet you." He held his hand out to her.

With her own bright smile upon her face, Nikki accepted his hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you, President Souta!"

Kairi watched the two and smiled, but she couldn't help but think to herself, "Nikki's heart is extremely pure and bright. Could she be one of the new Cures?"

(Eyecatch: Nikki, Souta, Fuwa, and Momoko are reading books together before the fairies drop and transform into their human forms, landing on their respective partners before the eight of them laugh off the fall as the logo appears in the corner.)

After the class, Nikki was being brought on a tour of the school by Souta and being accompanied by Kairi and the human fairies as they listened to his explanation of the different school functions.

Souta stopped by one room and smiled and the group. "You might wanna watch yourselves if you enter this room. The Edo kids love to train ever so passionately." With that said, he opened the door and lead them into a room that was filled with students that were swinging swords around and doing other things that resembled Edo era practices.

"Whoa! This is awesome!" Nikki dashed into the room and looked at the samurai armor. "This stuff looks so authentic!"

Souta walked over and smiled. "You can thank the handiwork of the Metallurgy and Art Clubs for that one. They have such a great rapport with the Samurai Club that they're actually going to do a Kabuki style play this year."

Nikki looked at him in excitement. "Really? Which play are they doing?"

"The Tale of Momotaro, of course," another girl answered for the president as she walked over to them, showing a confident smile on her face and looking slightly older than some of the other students, but also slightly more masculine due to how deep her voice was and how short her dark pink hair was, tied up in a small samurai bun at the back.

"Ah, Momoko-senpai. Great to see you again," Souta bowed politely to the elder girl. "I was just showing the new students and our teacher around." He looked at the group. "Guys, I'd like you to meet one of our resident senpai students of the Samurai Club, Momoko Taroshin."

"Yo!" Momoko flashed a grin and winked one of her dark pink eyes as she showed off a thumbs up. "Great to have some newbies in the school. I can't wait for y'all to see the play! My family are actually direct descendants of one of the fabled samurais."

Nikki got in front with sparkling eyes. "That's so cool!"

Momoko smiled and nodded. "Yep. I've trained in a samurai lifestyle since I was a baby and I have never looked back since!"

Souta smiled as he looked at the group. "Momoko-san has helped us through many challenges that require her skills, including archery, mojikara, and Bushido."

Howl smiled and clapped her hands. "Sounds wonderful, Momoko-senpai!"

Momoko grinned and stepped back. "Watch this." She drew her sword and started doing some fancy kendo moves, then tossing her sword in the air and grabbing a bow and arrow before she shot a perfect bullseye on the target and caught her sword in a swift, smooth manner as she sheathed it.

The group clapped for her performance, Nikki smiling more. "That was amazing, Momo-chan!"

"Thanks, Nikkun." Momoko grinned brightly at her.

Nikki grinned back just as brightly; for her first day at school, she was already making some great friends.

Meanwhile, Drizella was standing on the school rooftop and looking at the students as they came out of their classes for lunch hour. "I must admit, it's fascinating to see these humans discuss everything on their minds." One of the aspects of Drizella that was known to her fellow rebels was that she was highly curious about what a human would chat with other humans about and more often than not, she'd get quite enraptured in the stories.

Suddenly she heard a voice behind her: "Um... E... Excuse me..." She looked over curiously and saw Fuwa standing there with her lunch bag and a book in her arms.

Fuwa peeked out from behind her bangs slightly as she looked at Drizella. "Uh... Who... Are you... And wh... What are you doing up here?"

"Oh, just enjoying the view, child. Don't mind me at all." Drizella smiled at her sweetly.

Fuwa blinked slightly and nodded a bit. "O... Okay." She slowly walked behind her and went to a secluded corner of the rooftop, sitting down and pulling out a rice ball from her lunchbox as she started eating it.

Drizella looked at Fuwa and smiled wickedly, her eyes turning a bright green as she looked into the shy girl's heart, seeing a small bit of a black ink spot and chuckling slightly before she pulled out the Akumumon Book and looked at it. "Time for the wolf to be let out soon." She walked over to Fuwa and knelt down, pretending to look for something as she subtly slipped the Book into the young student's bag before she got up and left the area, smirking more as she snapped her fingers and switched to her true form.

Back with Fuwa, she had just finished her lunch and was packing her stuff up to leave when she noticed the dark book in her bag. "Oh? What kind of book is this?" She pulled it out and opened it up, almost immediately regretting it as the book engulfed her in a dark aura and caused her to scream in pain as her inner story gained a larger black splotch.

Drizella laughed as she stepped out and smiled at the poor girl. "Now then, your happy ending is my nightmare to decide!" She flung her hand up. "Come on out, Akumumon!"

The darkness surrounded Fuwa and morphed forms into a large dark grey wolf like creature with a black cloud its furry stomach, bright red eyes, and a snarl that showed a set of sharp pointed teeth, a single word forming from the creature's mouth: "AKUMUMON!"

Drizella laughed evilly as she looked at the Akumumon. "How wonderful! You're such a magnificent wolf!" She went to it and scratched it behind the ears slightly as she cooed to it sweetly. "Now, I think you need to show everyone how it feels to be alone, hm? My cute little Akumumon?"

The Akumumon licked her face gently like a loyal pet before it ran towards the edge of the roof and jumped down, landing on the ground and causing several students to look over in shock.

"What is that?!" A female student shouted in fright.

The Akumumon reared back its head and howled, sending a dark wave from its call that affected everyone in the vicinity, causing different reactions from all of the students, some running into the school out of fear, some falling limp with blank eyes, and still others that had passed out with faces of discomfort.

Drizella cackled and opened a book of her own, siphoning the energy into its pages. "With this Dark Energy, the Book of Negativity shall soon be completed!"

As she spoke those words, a flash of a book deep within the Story World Library opened and started forming unintelligible words.

Inside the school, Nikki had noticed the Akumumon and was looking out the window. "What on Earth is that?!" She saw the energy rush out, even getting hit by it, but she didn't fall, instead seeing Momoko and Souta dropping to their knees with blank expressions. "Souta! Momo-chan! Are you okay?!" She ran to them and looked at them worriedly.

Souta didn't look at her, instead mumbling: "Hope isn't eternal..."

Momoko was in a similar state: "What good are our dreams?"

Nikki made a concerned face. "That's not true..." She heard footsteps running off and turned to see Kairi had fled alongside the fairies. "Sensei, wait!" She got up and ran after them.

Kairi came out of the school and saw the Akumumon. "Damnit! They must have finally found us!"

Drizella chuckled as she floated down towards the group. "Oh, we've had our suspicions, Lupin. But I'll be the first to admit I wasn't expecting you to blend in with humans. A good choice for your little princess." She looked at the students enveloped in the negative energy. "Humans do tend to have the most intriguing conversations with each other. They have so many good stories and bits of gossip that I can't help but eavesdrop on them."

Kairi growled and clenched her fists. "Why you..." She was about ready to dash at the Akumumon, powers or not, when she heard a familiar voice: "Sensei!"

Nikki ran out to the five and skidded to a stop upon seeing the Akumumon. "Eh?! Is... Is that a...?!"

Kairi nodded a bit. "An Akumumon. They're born from someone's negative feelings."

Merlin spoke afterwards: "If their negative emotions consume their inner story, there's no saving them!"

Nikki gasped in shock, chills running down her spine. "So the stories my mom told me as a kid... Everything about the Akumumons and the rebellion... They're all real!"

Drizella looked down and saw Nikki. "Hm? So you know of us, and yet you aren't affected by negative energy."

Oniki looked at Nikki in confusion. "Wait, why weren't you affected?"

Nikki blinked in confusion and looked at herself. "Guess it must be because of how positive I always am."

Drizella scoffed. "Affected or not, you're still one pitiful human. And you'll be crushed easily. Akumumon!"

"ROGER!" The Akumumon charged at Nikki, Kairi, and the fairies.

"Whoa, crap!" Nikki jumped to the side with Merlin and Cinder as Kairi leapt to the other side with Howl and Oniki, all of them managing to evade the attack.

The elder teacher looked up at the monster. "Damnit... We don't have a choice! Nikki's the only witness, but she knows of us." She got up and looked at the fairies by her side. "Howl! Oniki!"

"Roger!" The two chorused together before they jumped up and transformed in respectively colored smoke clouds into a pair of differently colored swords respectfully with open spaces on the grips for a small book of some sort as the fairies had their true faces showing on the handles as well.

Kairi grabbed the swords and charged forward, starting to battle the Akumumon as she slashed at its legs, causing it to jump back and fire a beam of darkness at her, but she jumped and evaded it before she ran up its shoulder and slashed at its ear.

Nikki was watching in stunned confusion and amazement. "Sensei's... The Legendary Pretty Cure... Cure Lupin?!"

Cinder nodded to Nikki. "Yeah. She lost her powers when she was about your age, but she never faltered in her mission to help protect everyone."

Nikki nodded a bit before she yelped and ducked under a redirected blast, peeking back up to see Kairi trying to block another blast.

Kairi grunted as her feet slid on the ground before the Akumumon powered up its blast, causing her surprise as she got shot back, screaming in pain and landing on the steps as Howl and Oniki landed by her, both of them having pained expressions.

"Sensei!" Nikki looked at Kairi in horror before she glared at the villains. "You jerks!" She started running forward angrily.

"Please..." Suddenly, a voice could be faintly heard in Nikki's mind, causing her to stop in confusion. "Is that... Fuwa?" She looked at the Akumumon.

It wasn't moving to attack her, but the voice kept speaking: "Please... Help me..."

Nikki gasped slightly. "Fuwa-chan!"

Cinder looked at Nikki in surprise. "She can hear the person inside the Akumumon?"

Merlin was equally shocked. "No way!"

"I'm scared... I don't want to be scared... I want to make friends... I'm too scared to..." Fuwa spoke from the monster's inner heart.

Nikki looked at the Akumumon and focused hard, imagining what Fuwa must have been like in that moment; curled up in the fetal position and trembling with tears running down her eyes. "Fuwa-chan..." She lowered her head and started speaking calmly, memories of her childhood coming to mind. "I understand what it's like to be shy. I remember being bullied by other students when I was little because of my skin color. I didn't think I had any worth to anyone." She looked at the Akumumon and smiled. "But when my mom told me the story about the Legendary Pretty Cure, it gave me positive thoughts and I started growing an appreciation for myself. I don't care if you're shy or not! I want to be friends with you and everyone else I meet! Even if they might not accept positivity right away, I want to help them with that choice! And where better to start than with a new friend at my new school?"

Fuwa opened her eyes and saw Nikki from the small view inside her cramped space, touching the pseudo window gently and smiling. "Me too... Kamihime-san..." She screamed in pain as the black spot grew larger, consuming half of her inner story already.

Outside, the Akumumon reared back and howled in pain as a dark aura surrounded it again before glaring at Nikki.

Nikki watched in worry. "Fuwa-chan! Hang in there!"

Drizella smirked as she watched. "Sentiment only gets you so far, kid."

Nikki looked at the ground and growled, her hands shaking slightly. "I can't believe you... Taking the negativity from others for your own personal petty goals... Harming one of the shyest and kindest students in this school by turning her into a monster... Something like that..." She clenched her fists and glared at Drizella. "WILL NEVER BE FORGIVEN!"

All of a sudden, a bright light erupted from Nikki's chest, causing surprise and confusion among everyone.

Drizella watched through her fingers and squinted slightly. "What in the world?!"

Merlin watched one of the Pretty Books float out. "Cinder, look!" He pointed it out.

Cinder watched the Book go to Nikki before it changed in front of their eyes.

Nikki looked at the new Book, the green and white cover showing a golden crown on the front along with the words Royalty Princess in pure silver. "This is..." She reached out and took the Book gently.

Cinder made a determined expression and immediately transformed into her own sword form, the blade a silver color and the handle green as she flew to Nikki and hovered in front of her. "Nikki!"

Nikki looked at Cinder in surprise. "Eh? Cinder?! Is that you?!"

"Sure is - dechu! Now listen quickly: The Pretty Book can be loaded into the slot above me - dechu! Once it's put in, call out 'Pretty Cure, Start my Story' and open the Book - dechu! Then the magic from within the Book should do the rest - dechu!" Cinder explained quickly.

"I knew this wasn't just a story." Nikki smiled in determination and grabbed the sword by the handle. "I'll be sure to fight for Fuwa's happy ending!" She held out her Book proudly.

(Cue BGM: Pretty Cure, Princess Engage w/o BG chorus)

Nikki placed the Pretty Book in the open slot and held her sword out as her clothes dispersed into a bright green dress silhouette, her hair popping out of the half ponytail at the same time. "Pretty Cure, Start my Story!" She moved her hand around and flipped the cover open to show a golden princess silhouette on the inside page.

Jewels floated past Nikki as she grabbed a glowing pen and drew a heart shape, sending it off in several streams of ribbons that encircled the area and swirled around her body at the arms, legs, and torso as she did a ballet twirl and held her arms out.

More jewels formed on her hands and pinged into place as gloves with golden bracelets around the wrists, following the same pattern with her shoes as they appeared with the look of being pointed with a golden rim, white socks that had a golden v lined edge, and light green ribbons that encircled her shins and stopped just below her knees, and finally making a light green dress appear, the top part having a flower like edge, a golden bow with a green gem in the middle and on her back, and a golden rope bottom that lead into the bottom half of the dress, as the lower half was segmented with a flowing sheer lace top and the rest with solid colors in a green gradience.

Nikki then drew a rounded crown with green teardrop shaped jewels and side feathers into existence and placed it on her head, her hair glowing and growing longer as it became blonde with a minty green ombre at the ends, before she opened her eyes for them to be more of a lighter sea green in color and red lipstick pinging on to her mouth as she took an elegant pose.

A bag appeared on her side as a placeholder for Pretty Books before she landed with both feet together and did a curtsey, the jewels shimmering and changing the background to a palace hallway as she straightened up and blinked once, her eyes shimmering.

"The shining elegance of a princess!" She shouted as she swung her sword in a heart shape and held it down, swinging it up and running her hand down the blade before she jumped into her final pose of a brave fencer. "Cure Royal!"

(End BGM)

Merlin smiled in triumph. "She did it!"

Kairi looked up and saw the amazing change. "Cure Royal..."

Nikki stood proudly as her ribbons, dress, and hair flowed elegantly in the wind, her expression conveying determination now.

Drizella scowled angrily as she saw the new Cure in front of her. "Another one? After ten years? This isn't gonna do! Crush her, Akumumon!"

"AKUMUMON!" The Akumumon went to punch Royal back, but the new Cure was ready as she held up her blade and blocked the fist with immense strength, a dust cloud kicking up from the impact.

Drizella smirked as she watched the dust cloud, certain that Royal was squashed, but when the dust cleared, the green Cure was still standing which left Drizella... suffice it to say, shocked. "What?"

Royal growled as she held strong. "I won't let Fuwa's kindness be torn and manipulated!" She grabbed the Akumumon by its paw and started spinning around. "ORAAAAA!" Finally she let go and launched the Akumumon into a tree, watching as it crashed to the ground.

Cinder smiled at Royal. "Nice throw!"

Royal smiled back. "Not bad for a newbie, right?"

Drizella floated to the Akumumon, now thoroughly ticked off. "What the hell are you doing just laying there?! Get up and destroy her!"

"ROGER!" The Akumumon got back to its feet.

Royal heard the large booms and saw the Akumumon on its feet again. "It ain't over yet though!" As it launched a darkness beam at her, she jumped up and went high in the sky before she flipped around and aimed a side kick at its head. "YAAAHH!" She kicked it hard before she flipped off as it tried to grab her, kicking off the tree and launching herself towards it, blocking and clashing with its claws in a sort of sword VS claw battle.

"KUMU!" The Akumumon swung its large tail at her, but Royal saw it coming and crossed her arms quickly, protecting herself and flying back before she landed steadily on the steps. "My positivity can never be extinguished!" She hopped on the doors and kicked off. "Pretty Cure Headbutt Punch!" She rammed into the Akumumon head first and sent it toppling to the ground before she landed and held her sword up. "I'll show you what happens when you mess with positivity!"

(Cue BGM: Healing Flower)

Royal flipped the Pretty Book to its next page, showing a golden heart with a ribbon on the bottom, before she swung her sword into position crosswise across her body as she called out. "Magic of the Books, I summon you!" A green light flew to her blade and enveloped it.

She slowly drew her fingers up the blade, charging it into an orb and drawing a heart shape before she turned around. "Pretty Cure Royal Pulsar!" She thrusted her sword into the heart, the light filling the heart and shooting out at the monster, knocking Royal back slightly as she let out a shout to charge herself up. "HAAAAAAA!"

The blast impacted the Akumumon in its chest and morphed into a pair of hands that cradled Fuwa gently before bursting out the other side, a bubble appearing around the now peaceful looking girl and floating off with her as the Akumumon was left with a green heart shape in its body as it moaned, "Goodnight..." It faded into the green light, the Akumumon Book dispersing into black mist.

Royal and Cinder smiled triumphantly as they chorused together: "Happy dreams!"

(End BGM)

Drizella's eye twitched slightly out of anger as she snarled through gritted teeth, "You little punk! I'M GONNA REMEMBER THIS!" She teleported off, presumably back to the Story World Castle and the Library within.

Within a bright light that cleared the skies, the damage from the fight was magically fixed and all of the students came out of their stupor of negativity in confusion. "Huh?"

Nikki changed back to herself in a green light that encapsulated her body and disappeared in small orbs and let Cinder change back as well as she went to Fuwa's side. "Fuwa-chan, are you okay?"

Fuwa woke up and looked at Nikki. "Kamihime-san..."

"Just call me Nikki!" Nikki responded with a smile on her face.

Fuwa blinked slightly and nodded, smiling slightly. "Okay, Nikki-san." She sat up and rubbed her forehead. "What exactly happened? The last thing I remember was a woman on the rooftop and I found this weird book in my bag, and then... nothing."

Nikki chuckled and helped Fuwa up as she simply said, "Well, let's just say an amazing superhero helped to save you from a bad ending. Besides, you don't need to be so scared of people because of being afraid to show your best. There's always something to look forward to. You just have to keep searching."

Fuwa smiled a bit and giggled lightly, nodding to her new friend. "Yeah."

Kairi smiled as she watched the two interact while being treated by Merlin. "Seems like there might be a chance to rescue everyone back at home now."

Whew. Oh dear, this was a lot to write down. But it's worth it in the end. Special shoutout to DragonKnight SR for helping me out with some of the concepts for this story. They are such a great person to work with. Read and review, everybody, and I'll see you in the next chapter!
