u/Ionsturm: I'm going to copy/paste a previous comment I made, with some additions. Your story has some issues with readability, namely the walls of text in it. You're afforded unlimited virtual real estate for writing, so don't be afraid to use new paragraphs to break up sections of the story. Additionally, new speakers should have their own paragraph to make it easier for the reader to follow who's who (except in special scenarios; everyone yelling the same thing at once, twins finishing each other's sentences, stuff like that).

AN: Oh boy, what was I doing back then? Poor eyes that had to go through my walls of text. I certainly have taken Ion's words to heart, because dear lord. If you want to see the horrible, unreadable version of this one, here it is: r/MysteryDungeon/comments/esbyhj/comment/ffareie/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Adding the prompts here that spawned these stories as well.

Prompt: The partner is brought into the mainstream Pokémon world as a human.

The pair had reached the very depth of the cave and the work they had to do to get there had not been worth it. At the very back end of the wall were three gems lodged into a rock. A ruby, a blue sapphire and an emerald.

Ari the Dragonair looked at their partner and sighed. "So that was it, huh?" her slight smile of relief peeking through the exhaustion.

The decidueye let out an exhaustive laugh and sat down. "Worthless trekking, HOOOO!" he said as he punched the air before him. If he was back home, this would have been worth a lot of money, but in this world, they were mostly just pretty.

Ari slithered around him to give him a reassuring hug. "Well, at least we can say we were the first adventurers to get here."

The grass type smiled as a reply. "True, now let me just find the Escape Orb." He rummaged through the bag when a bright light hit him in the eye. Both pokemon looked up to see the three stones starting to shine. "Okay, this might actually be something after all." The decidueye laughed as the mood of the duo turned for the better.

As they neared the gems a strange energy emitted from the room.

"Robin... I got a bad feeling about this." The dragonair stopped up as the atmosphere tensed.

Robin stopped as well as a strangely familiar feeling overcame him. He looked at Ari who seemed to be feeling it as well, and it was at that moment that he knew. "Uh oh. This feeling. This was how it felt just before I arrived here. Retreat!"

But they were too late. Just as they started to move backwards, the cave was engulfed in white light. Once it returned to normal, there was no sign of the duo nor the gemstones.

Ari could hear someone talking, although she couldn't make out what was said. Her head was hurting and she had lost feeling of her entire body. The voices got louder and clearer. She tried to move but it felt so weird when she moved her tail, as if someone had split it in half and she could move each part independently.

"Calm down, let me just give her some water." She recognized the voice.

"Robin" she tried to yell out, but it came out more as a hoarse whisper. She really needed the water. She felt uncomfortable lying on her belly for some reason, so she rolled over, one arm flopped and started to dangle over the edge of the bed.

"Wait, what?" she said in confusion as the door opened and what looked like what a human was described as entered, followed by a machop and a decidueye. For a second she thought that was Robin, but she could quickly see that it was a different one.

The human placed the glass of water on a table before noticing that Ari was staring at him. A warm smile formed as he breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh thank goodness. You okay, Ari?"

That human was Robin.

She tried to move, but her strange new body refused to cooperate with her. It didn't help that she was sore all over and every muscle in her body was in pain. Robin pushed her to a sitting position and put the glass up to her lips as she happily accepted the thirst clenching water. A raspy "thank you" was all she could muster.

He chuckled as the decidueye took the glass and left the room, while he himself sat on the bed.

It was then she noticed that he was about as busted as she was. She came to the conclusion that the only reason he could actually move was due to his familiarity with his body.

The machop crawled up on the bed as well and sat next to Robin.

"Oh, uhm... Better introduce you. Ari, this is Flex and the decidueye is Strike. They are two of my Pokemon partners here in my world, and Flex, this is Ari. She is a... dragonair."

Robin seemed conflicted to call her a Dragonair for some reason. She had arms and had concluded that she had also gotten legs, so maybe she had evolved? But why would he not call her a Dragonite then? She just nodded weakly towards the Machop who seemed to understand.

"Nice to meet you too, Ari. Isn't it cool? My trainer can finally understand what I say! He is the best!"

Ari looked confused at Robin.

"I better just show you." he responded as he shifted himself.

"Flex, can you fetch the remote? I would do it myself, but I am pooped."

The Machop chuckled as he jumped off the bed and headed towards a TV remote. "I know. You just sit there and let me, Strike and the rest of us take care of you for once." He grabbed the remote while Strike returned with some sliced bread and more water.

"From what I gathered, I assume that you are both hungry." he said as placed the plate on the bed.

Meanwhile Flex had returned to the bed and handed his trainer the remote. The TV on the wall turned on, and a battle between two trainers and their Pokemon was shown on the screen. Ari couldn't see why Robin seemed so shy about it. Seemed like it was a team effort between the human and the Pokemon. But as one was knocked out, the trainer pulled out a red and white ball that shot a beam towards the fainted Pokemon and it disappeared.

"What... was... that?" she struggled to say.

"Oh, where to begin...?"

Strike silenced his trainer by handing him a glass of water, and helped Ari with a second. "What you should begin with is eating, resting and helping your poor guest how to move about. Once you regain your energy, THEN you can tell her about how this works." He gave Robin a stern look before facing Ari. "Oh, and Ari, was it? It is not as bad as it looks, and our goofball of a trainer has respected our wishes regarding pokeballs." The pokemon got up and headed for the door. "If you need anything, I will be right outside."

The three remaining beings just stared at the TV, the Machop helping the girl with eating the bread as they saw different trainers fight in whatever ongoing tournament was happening. Ari found it entertaining enough, but the pokeball thing still nagged her. Slowly, but surely, though, she and her partner went to sleep.

The next day, Ari learned how her limbs worked, and Robin had taught her how to walk, albeit with support. It would take some time getting used to. She managed to get into the kitchen with an oversized shirt covering her at Robin's parents' insistence. Seemingly, not much time had actually passed since he ended up in her world and with his return back.
Four years of adventuring across the world and stopping a dangerous drug ring, now rendered moot. As if nothing had happened. Though it was the second revelation that took her even more by surprise.

"I can sorta get it as it doesn't sound like something a pokemon would call themselves, but that you never told me that Robin wasn't your real name. I almost feel offended."

A sheepish chuckle was all that the young human could do. "Sorry. By the time I was comfortable telling you I was a human, I had kinda gotten used to being Robin at that point that it never crossed my mind."

Ari just shook her head in response. "Well, it doesn't matter. I will still call you Robin regardless."

The mother laughed at the statement. "You know what, honey? Robin does seem to fit you. What do you think, dear?" She turned her attention to her husband who was just grinning through the conversation and just responded with a silly nod. "Alright, it seems like you are Robin permanently now."

Ari's small ear-wings, the only thing aside from her blue skin which was retained from her true form, were fluttering as Robin worded his protest through the piece of toast in his mouth.

Once done chewing he turned to his parents. "Gotta admit, you have taken this pretty well. Heck, that you actually believe us is still baffling."

His father turned the page on his newspaper and chuckled. "If this happened twenty years ago, yeah, I wouldn't believe it. But now in recent times, anything seem possible." He paused as he turned another page. "First there was Groudon and Kyogre appearing here in Hoenn, then there was the unnatural storm on top of Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh. Then the heirs of the legendary heroes of Truth and Ideals appeared in Unova. Then there was this giant laser in Kalos, apparently from an ancient weapon, and recently there were those weird things appearing all over Alola. With all this crazy stuff happening in the world, you getting sent to another world for a few hours, which for you was four years, seem just as plausible nowadays." he finished as he turned yet another page. "AHA! You two, take a look at this." He placed the newspaper on the table, and the headline caught immediate attention.

"What does it say?" asked Ari.

Robin turned the paper to better see the headline and read it out loud. "Three gems have been concluded as the sources of strange light." He smiled. "You ready for another treasure hunt?"

Ari could see his eagerness. "You know what? I think they can wait. I have a whole new world to explore, with so many more adventures to be had. Let me see this place that you live in, and what this 'Pokemon Training' is about." She was ready to get up and storm out the door, but her legs were a reminder to it still being a bit of trouble.

"Mom, dad. You heard her, and no way in hell I can stop her nor leave her alone."

Robin's mother smiled. "Well, the first adventure have to be to a clothing store, because there is no chance of me letting the two of you go on adventure with her dressed like that."

AN: So, Robin and Ari, the first characters from my Nexus storyline I've written about, and they just gets a few mentions from this point onwards. Thing is, I just decided to tie all my one-shots into the Nexus story once I invented the thing. Now there is at least one one-shot that isn't, and one which sorta is, but I don't think it will ever have any relevance for the Nexus plot as a whole, so not sure where to put that one, once I reach it. Those are the only two I can think off right now... There might be another one or two hiding somewhere, but I have over 2 years of prompts written, so give me some slack for not actually remembering every single one of them.
