Chapter 11
They came hard and fast.
Sorcerers who have gained more power through experiments were proving to be difficult to handle.
Nobara was keeping them back as best as she could. She was up against three special grade and five robots. "Why not just leave us alone!" Nobara shouted. "We haven't come after you, why come after us?"
"The elders know what is best for all. Now, be a good little girl and accept your fate!" one scolded her.
"She is proving to be difficult, use THAT" another said as he turned to the robot.
It nodded as the chest plate opened.
Nobara froze as she felt the gravity increase on her suddenly, but then. It was as if her curse energy was taken out of her body! "Wait… what…" she whispered as she tried to get her nails at the ready to strike.
But none were infused with her technique.
"We learned from one called the Angel. We took away your technique, it will make it a lot easier for you to cooperate with us now…" one said and snickered.
She refused to give up, armed with her hammer. She smiled wickedly. "So, I have to fight you the hard way… so be it. Come on!" she shouted.
One made the mistake of believing she was nothing without her curse technique, but none realized how well she could wield a hammer! She knocked one out with a single strike, which made the others reconsider their notion. But then, they remembered that they still have their curse technique!
Nobara held her own for so long, until the mental fatigue caught up with her. "That's it, run out of stamina… I wonder how much the elders will pay to bring you in dead…" one teased…

Miwa stood at the ready.
They were coming in close now, but her personal domain was set up and at the ready. There would be five of Muta's robots coming for her, and yet, she felt reluctant to fight them. They reminded her of him, but still, he's gone now.
When they came into sight, she had her hand on the hilt, ready to draw her sword.
Yet, as she prepared, she felt the air around her grow heavy. Then, her personal domain shattered, and her curse energy suddenly was non-existent.
"Such a shame, you could have been trained to be a better swordsman…" one teased.
"But it is clear where you stand now isn't it? Pity little girl…"
The five raised their arms, took aim and were prepared to unleash the final blow…

At the riverside.
Those who control the robots were snickering. It was the easies job. They saved them from going into battle and yet at the same time, controlling those robots took a lot of energy. "That kid who made these, he could do so with ease huh?"
"Yeah, but it's weird that he could control them from such a distance… We have to have a router here to ensure the curse energy gets to each device quickly." Said another. The one robot left behind channeled all their curse energy to the others in the field, yet, someone paused as he noticed the eyes flickered in the machine. "Huh, you seeing this shit?"
"What?"
"The eyes flickered."
"You're just imagining it…"
Soon, they found it more and more difficult to send their curse energy out. Those monitoring everything on screens paused. "Hey, why is the feed cutting out? Increase your output!"
"We are!" they snapped back.
Suddenly, the router went down, the robot slumped and shut off suddenly. "What the hell, stupid piece of shit…" one smacked it hard and it turned back on instantly. "See, it just needs a good… GAH!"
Everyone froze as the mecha grabbed the sorcerer's throat, it turned to the others who watched on with horror.

Todo had his back to the wall.
There was no getting out of this without his technique; the mechas that were sent after him are just too strong to contend with. Yet, as he became at peace with it, the robots suddenly shut off. He froze to it all as he felt his curse energy suddenly return. "What the hell…" he muttered.
When they turned on again. They emitted a green light rather than red from before. One turned to Todo and said. "Short girl, long blue hair, cute butt"
He froze instantly. "What?"
