A/N: this is for the RPS rare pairings challenge.
Alice looked down at the bundle in her arms and smiled.
Her son, Neville, was a shining light in the dark times they were currently experiencing.
"How is he?" Frank asked.
He sat down on the sofa, put his arms around her, and also looked down at his son.
"Sleeping. He was fussing most of the morning, but I finally managed to get him to settle," Alice replied.
"He seems to be a mummy's boy already," he chuckled.
Alice couldn't deny it.
Neville only seemed to settle with her at the moment, but she hoped that would change. Frank didn't deserve to miss out on anything.
"It's okay, love. Babies are fussy and he knows you as you carried him for nine months. It will take time for him to realise that he wants me too," he reassured her.
Alice felt slightly better after that.
She knew it was only logical but had still felt bad for him.
"I received an owl from your mother this afternoon. She informed us that she would be over for tea tomorrow," she informed him.
"I know she can be overbearing at times but I'm sure she just wants to see Neville," Frank said.
"I know. At least she tells us when she is coming over though. Sarah's mother-in-law just goes over when she wants and starts telling her that she's doing everything wrong."
"I'm sure my mother will say something about the way we do things at some point," Frank pointed out.
"You're right. I can't imagine her not doing," Alice agreed.
All in all Alice loved Augusta and knew that she would would love her grandson just as fiercely as she loved her son.
