On the planet Earth, in the clouds on the astral plane, stands the Kingdom of Heaven. Beyond its pearly white gates, stands "Cherub Towne", the residence of God's cherubims. Beyond Cherub Towne, sitting beyond a pair of golden gates stands a large city where all of the souls of Heaven reside, and beyond that city sits the residence of God, his archangels, and his saints.
On this specific day in Heaven, it was just a normal day for all of the souls, to them it was just another day of peace and salvation in paradise. But for one small family of heaven-born cherubs, it would be a special day in particular for one. Inside the living room of a nice two-floor house in Cherub Towne, stood a family of three which consisted of a loving couple of two anthro sheep cherubs and their son, who was holding an envelope in his hoove-like hands.
"Go on Collin, open it." The woman cherub said, with a soft smile.
"I-I don't know mom, what if it's bad news?" The younger male purple-tinted cherub asked, a hint of wariness in his voice.
"You can't think like that son," The older male cherub spoke in a reassuring voice. "It's not a good way to view everything." Collin gave his father a nod, and shakily but slowly opened the envelope, upon opening it, he saw a letter folded neatly inside. He slowly pulled it out and unfolded it, reading the top of the letter to identify whom it was from, it read From the Desk of God.
"I-it's a letter from God." Collin said, his voice in complete awe, his parent's looks also changed to looks of complete awe.
"Go on Collin, read it." His mother spoke, more softly, giving the younger sheep more confidence. Giving a nod, he began to read the letter out loud.
Dear Collin,
You have been sent this letter because you have been selected to be a guardian angel for one of the many humans on Earth. I along with all my saints and archangels are all proud that you will soon be guarding a human on Earth. As per tradition, you are invited to see me on Thursday, May the twentieth so I can tell you about what to expect from your new job, as well as to introduce you to the human you will protect till their end of days on Earth.
Hope to see you soon, and congratulations.
With unending and unconditional love,
God
As Collin finished reading he felt excitement rush up into him, he couldn't believe that the Lord himself had selected him to be a guardian angel for a human on Earth. To say he was happy and excited was an understatement, he felt elated, and so did his parents as they locked their son in a group hug.
"Oh Collin, we're so proud of you." His mother said, her voice cracking, and tears of happiness welling up in her eyes.
"Indeed we are champ," His father added voice also cracking, and tears also welling up in his eyes. "We couldn't be more proud of you."
"Thanks, Mom, thanks, Dad." Collin replied, voice also cracking, and tears also welling up in his eyes. After a while of hugs and more congratulations, the three eventually released their grips on each other.
"Mom...Dad?"
"Yeah, hun?" His mom asked sniffling.
"What if I don't do my job well," He asked, wiping his eyes. "W-what if I don't protect them good enough, o-o-or if I g-g-get them killed? Oh gosh, I-" He was cut off as his mother placed her hands on his shoulders, giving him a soft but stern look.
"Shhh, calm down," She spoke softly as she wiped the remaining tear stains off her son's cheeks. "You have to think positively about this honey, your father and I are 100% confident that you will be a great guardian angel for this kid."
"You and Dad really think so?"
"Of course we do son," His father walked forward and gave him a smile, placing a hand on his son's back. "Your mother and I believe that you are the perfect candidate for a guardian angel, your kind, sweet, and soft-spoken, to me, that sounds like the most perfect guardian angel any human on Earth could ask for."
"Aww, I really don't deserve you guys." Collin replied, hugging his parents again.
"And we don't deserve to have such a great son." His parents replied in unison, to which Collin tightened his hug in response to his parent's statement.
The rest of that day, Collin and his parents celebrated with his parents treating him to a nice fancy restaurant. To Collin, it was probably the best day he had ever had in a long time.
A few weeks later
Collin couldn't help but feel nervous as he stood outside the Lord's large mansion. It was a large white building, with many windows, it truly was a mammoth of a building. But it wasn't the size of the mansion that made the young sheep so nervous, it was the meeting that was soon to come. Collin was nervous about meeting the Lord because he was nervous as to what he would say. His parents seemed to sense their son's nervousness, and they each laid an arm around their son's shoulder.
"Oh don't be scared son," His mother said softly, trying to calm her son down. "Everything will be fine."
"Wh-what if things aren't?" He couldn't help but ask.
"Things will be fine son," His father said, in a reassuring voice. "Besides, this is God you are meeting, our creator and a merciful loving God, nothing can go wrong."
"You're right," He took a deep breath and let it out. "Everything will go fine."
"That's my boy," His father replied, pulling him into a hug and ruffling his hair. "Good luck son, I hope everything goes perfectly for you."
"Thanks, Dad." Collin then let go of his father to which his mother immediately embraced him.
"Good luck hun," She said in a sweet voice, rubbing her son's back gently. "Your father and I will be rooting for you."
"Thanks, Mom." Collin let go of his mother and with one last wave towards his parents, he gave them a small wave and walked up the stairs of the large mansion, knocking on the large white doors when he reached the top, humming a small worship song as he waited for someone to answer.
"Uh hello?" Collin was brought out of his thoughts and humming when a female voice spoke, standing at the door was an angel, wrapped in a purple robe, white wings adorned her back and a white halo floated above her head. "Can I help you?"
"U-um yes you can, I-I am Collin, and I was invited by God to come here." The angel's eyes lit up when she heard him speak his name.
"Oh, your the newest guardian angel assigned by the Lord, well come right in, I'll lead you to the guest room, the Lord is waiting for you there." The sheep cherub nodded and followed the angel inside, and was greeted with a grand entrance room, it was beautifully decorated with lavished furniture and many beautiful icons of the many saints and archangels.
"Wow, i-it's so beautiful." Collin spoke in awe as he followed the angel, staring at the many icons as he walked.
"Indeed it is, the Lord's mansion is always a sight to behold, both the interior and the exterior." The cherub gave her a nod as they continued to walk along the hallway, before finally stopping at another large white door.
The angel gave a knock on the door before speaking, "My Lord, he has arrived."
"Perfect, send him in." A man's voice replied.
"Very well, My Lord." She slowly opened the door and motioned for Collin to enter, as soon as he did he almost gasped at the sight. Sitting on a beautiful white couch, was the Son of God, Jesus Christ who was dressed in a beautiful white robe.
"Hello Collin, it is so wonderful to meet you." Jesus spoke to him softly, a warm smile on his face.
"It is nice to meet you too, My Lord." He replied to him, bowing his head respectfully.
"Please take a seat." The Lord offered, as he motioned his hand to the open spot next to him, to which the cherub nodded and took a seat next to him, staring up at him.
"Don't be so nervous Collin," The Lord told him, placing a hand on the cherub's shoulder. "I can assure you, you have nothing to be worried about."
"I know," Collin replied, feeling less anxious now. "I just hope this whole guardian angel job won't be too difficult."
"It will not be difficult at all Collin, trust me, being a guardian angel is not as much of a difficult job as it may seem to those who are not guardian angels themselves," Collin gave Jesus a nod in understatement. "Now, are you ready to listen to the jobs and rules you are required to follow as a guardian angel?"
"Y-yes, I am ready to hear everything I need to know."
Jesus nodded, "Very well," He took a deep breath. "Collin, as I am sure you know, being a guardian angel to a human is a very important task an angel can be given."
"Indeed My Lord, I do."
"As a guardian angel, your most important task will be to protect your assigned human until their days end on Earth."
"What will I be protecting my assigned human from?" The cherub couldn't help but ask.
"You will be protecting them in times where they cannot defend themselves, and from any demon that tries to attack them," The sheep gave a nod in understatement. "However and thankfully, you will only need to protect them during times when they need help, other than that a demon attack is a rare chance to happen."
"Okay, now how I often must I be around them? Am I required to be around them all the time or only a few times?" The sheep asked head tilted. "Not because I don't want to be around them, I just think it's necessary I know." He added nervously.
The Lord gave him a small chuckle, "I know Collin, trust me, you are not the only guardian angel to ask this question, and will most likely not be the last either," Collin gave a small sigh in relief to that answer. "Now as for how long you are required to be around them, you can be around them as long as you so choose, whether that is a lot or not too much, either way, it is all up to you. But, do not take this as a sign that you should never check up on them, because if you just ignore your human, there will be consequences for doing so." He spoke that last sentence with a strict tone, making Collin feel anxious.
"I-I-I promise I won't neglect my human, M-My Lord," Collin replied nervously. "I-I shall watch over them with great dignity and honor."
Jesus gave him a soft smile, "It is grand to hear your dedication to protecting them despite not having met your human yet, and don't worry Collin, I along with my father have seen who you are as a cherub, and we know you will take great care of him."
"Thank you, My Lord," He paused as another question came to him. "How will I protect them?"
"I was just going to get to that. You will be provided some form of weaponry should you need to defend your human at any time, you will also be given a crystal ball."
"A crystal ball?"
"Yes, a crystal ball, it will allow you to see what your human is currently doing, and it is an effective way to check up on them quickly and efficiently without having to visit Earth all the time."
"Wow, I'll sure be granted a lot of power and many holy things, won't I?"
"Indeed you will be Collin, they are powers not to be taken lightly, but with a special form of duty," He paused for a moment. "Now Collin, do you have any other questions about the role of a guardian angel?"
Collin thought for a moment, scratching the soft white wool on his head before the question came to him, "Am I allowed to show myself to my human?"
"Yes, but you can only show your form to him, and his family, no one else is allowed to see you, but you will have the ability to control who can and who cannot see you," The cherub nodded. "Now, do you have any other questions to ask me?" Collin shook his head in response. "Okay, now Collin, are you ready to take your oath swearing you will do your duties as a guardian angel?
"Yes My Lord, I am ready."
"Okay, now I ask you to raise your right hand, and repeat after me," He paused briefly, as he watched the cherub raise his right hand, to which Jesus also rose his hand. "I, Collin, do solemnly swear."
"I, Collin, do solemnly swear."
"That I will faithfully and honorably do my duties as a guardian angel."
"That I will faithfully and honorably do my duties as a guardian angel."
"That I will watch over my human till their days on the Earth shall end."
"That I will watch over my human till their days on the Earth shall end."
"And that I shall keep my faith unto the Lord, and have undying faith and loyalty to him."
"And that I shall keep my faith unto the Lord, and have undying faith and loyalty to him."
"I ask of him, to bless me, and grant me wisdom and strength for the duties that I shall be given, amen."
"I ask of him, to bless me, and grant me wisdom and strength for the duties that I shall be given, amen." The cherub and the Lord proceeded to make the sign of the cross.
"Great job Collin," The Lord praised him with a smile. "You did so well, I could feel your dedication to your new position just flowing through your voice as you recited the oath."
"Th-thank you, My Lord," He replied blushing a little. "And I am glad you think so."
"Now my child, it is time."
"What is it time for?"
"It is now time, for you to see the human you are assigned to." Collin instantly felt excitement well up in him, he just couldn't wait to see who he had been assigned to protect.
"Oh, I can't wait to see who they are," Collin spoke happily. "I bet they are a sweet and innocent soul."
"Indeed they are Collin," Jesus replied as he folded his hands together for a few moments, before releasing them, revealing a crystal ball. "Gaze into this Crystal ball, and see who you are assigned to." Collin nodded, as he excitedly grabbed the crystal ball and gazed into it. For a few moments, there was nothing until slowly the image came together, projected on the crystal ball, was a bunch of people gathered around someone who was holding a baby above a large silver bowl, and next to them, was a man in black robes holding a pitcher of Holy water. Collin knew this scene very well, it was a baptism.
"I baptize you, Mark Adams in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit." The priest said, pouring the Holy water onto the baby's forehead. Collin looked at the scene and pointed at the baby.
"Is that my human?" To which the Lord nodded. Collin gave a smile and nod as he turned back to the crystal ball, looking at his human. He was a small white-skinned child, with brown eyes, and small sprouts of brown hair on his head. Collin couldn't help but give a soft smile at his human, and couldn't help but feel the excitement within him feeling so happy that he knew who he would be protecting.
"This is who I am going to be protecting?" Collin asked in awe.
"Yes, Mark Adams is your assigned human."
"I couldn't be more blessed to protect someone more innocent," Collin turned up to Jesus. "When do I start my official duties?"
"You will start tomorrow, Collin, make sure to meet me here at noon tomorrow, and I will make sure you are set up and acquainted with the other guardian angels." Collin gave him a nod. He looked back at the image, and before handing it back to the Lord said one thing to the image.
"I promise that I will protect you with all of my life, Mark."
9 Years Later
On the planet Earth, in the small town of Rockcenter, New Jersey. Inside Theodore Roosevelt Elementry School, a group of young 4th Grade students sat there listening to their teacher talking about US History, bored as ever, most of them paying attention to the clock behind their teacher, they all just wanted to go home, and enjoy their nice and long weekend.
However, it was just when the students were going to groan out in annoyance as to why their day wasn't over, their teacher spoke what seemed like the words of God to them, "And that is all for today's class, have a great weekend." Everyone in the whole class immediately stood up, grabbed their backpacks, and rushed out the door, all excited. However, one small brown-haired kid was probably even more excited. Mark knew his parents were going to be gone all day today, and that meant he had the house all to himself. He knew that most parents wouldn't leave a kid his age at home alone, but his parents knew that he was a responsible and good kid. Softly humming to himself, he slowly picked up his backpack, walked out of the classroom, went through the school's hallway, and out into the warm spring weather. He gave a soft sigh at how amazing the warm weather felt. With a small smile, he began his walk home, happily thinking about what he'll do when he gets home.
"Well, well, well...look at who we have here boys," Mark stopped and turned around, and standing behind him were the last people he wanted to see, the school bully, and his cronies. "If it isn't our pal Mark."
"W-what do you want, Andrew?" Mark asked nervously, slowly backing up in an attempt to get away, only to end up bumping into one of Andrew's friends who had managed to get behind him.
"Oh you know EXACTLY what I want from you, Mark," Andrew replied, putting an emphasis on 'exactly.' Sighing Mark, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a twenty-dollar bill, the face of Andrew Jackson staring at him judgingly as he handed the bill to Andrew, who took it with a greedy grin. "Glad you provided today, but I am feeling a little more malicious today than usual since I failed our math test today." Mark felt anxiety bubble up in him.
"W-what do you mean?" Mark asked nervously.
"I mean, I am not in the mood to let you go today," He said as he put the money in his pocket and started to walk over to Mark, who was shaking slightly. "So, tell me, Mark," He swung at him, hitting him in the cheek, and sending him to the pavement. "Are you prepared for what you're going to receive today?"
Collin sat on a small bench in Cherub Towne, drinking some tea, he stared up at the blue sky above him, reminiscing on the past nine years. Every day since he had been assigned his human, he would check up on him a few times a day, to make sure he was doing okay, and it always would light up the sheep's heart whenever he saw his human doing well.
"Mark's probably going to be out of school in a few minutes," Collin thought to himself as he took another sip of his tea. "I should probably check up on him, and make sure nothing bad happens to him whilst he is walking home." After finishing up his tea, he summoned up a portal to Earth and went through, ending up near Mark's school. Flying towards it, he couldn't help but wonder what the usual school day for him was like. Granted, he would watch Mark's class whenever he would watch over him, albeit when he was invisible, but that was only part of the class. However, Collin would find himself snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a child speak.
"So, you like taking your medicine?" Collin had been around long enough to know what that statement meant. With much haste, he flew towards the source, only to find it coming from the back of the school, peaking down he was greeted with a sight that was far from pleasing to him. There, on the ground was Mark, and a bunch of kids were beating him up. Collin felt shocked, horrified, angry, and nervous. Shock and horror that someone was hurting Mark, angry that someone would have the audacity to hurt someone like him, and nervous about confronting the people abusing Mark. Collin knew he wasn't the type of person to always resort to violence, in fact, through the nine years he had been Mark's guardian angel he never had to resort to it.
"Alright Collin," He thought to himself, as he took a deep breath and removed the invisibility he had cast on himself to prevent humans from seeing him. "You can do this." Gently gliding to the ground he assertively walked towards the group and tapped the leader on the shoulder. The leader turned around and gasped pushing Mark towards the brick wall.
"W-what the heck are you?" The kid asked, nervous at what he was seeing before him, the other kids turning and looking at Collin in surprise.
"Yeah, what on Earth are you?" Another kid asked.
"It does not matter who I am," Collin said assertively, finding it slightly amusing that these kids were too self-absorbed to notice the halo on his head and the angel wings on his back. "What matters is you are hurting an innocent kid."
"So what, you don't even know this kid, and besides he deserves it." Andrew replied snarkily, turning back to Mark who was cowering in fear, oblivious to everything happening.
"He does not deserve it," Collin replied. "And besides what could he have done to you, for you and your friends to attack him."
"Oh, there is no reason, we just like to beat him up and steal his money, don't we boys?" To which the other kids nodded.
Collin couldn't help but feel angrier, "So you and your friends are just beating up this kid, and stealing from him for no reason whatsoever?"
"Pretty much, yeah."
"Listen here," Collin said, pointing a finger at him. "You are going to return what you stole from him, and you are going to leave him alone."
"No, I am not going to give him back the money, and besides what can you do, your outnumbered, buckaroo." The rest of his friends move closer. Collin just gave a sigh, he really didn't want to do this, but he knew had to, for Mark. Reaching behind him, he magically pulled out his heavenly crossbow, and all the kids immediately felt fear and they backed away from him.
"Look, I really don't want to hurt you," Collin spoke in a stern voice. "Just give the kid his money, and leave him alone."
"Alrightfineheretakeitwewillleaveyoualonenow." Andrew spoke hastily out of fear, as he threw the twenty dollars at Mark's cowering form, and proceeded to run away, with his friends following suit. Collin slowly watched them run away before putting away his crossbow and running up to Mark, looking over him in concern. He felt his heartbreak at the sight of his child cowering in fear so horribly. Slowly he placed a hand on the boy's shoulder.
"Hey, it's okay."
Mark couldn't help but cower in fear against the brick wall, he was scared, scared as to what Andrew and his cronies will do to him now. He wasn't even paying attention to everything going on around him at that very moment. Only scared and nervous as to what Andrew had in store for him. He suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder, then a voice spoke to him.
"Hey, it's okay." It was a soft voice, a voice he had never heard before, he felt confused, he wanted to look, wanted to know who it was, but was scared.
"A-a-are you g-gonna hurt me?" He stuttered out in fear, voice somewhat hoarse from crying a little.
"I could never hurt someone like you." The voice replied, again in that soft and calming voice, that made him feel somewhat at ease. Deciding to trust the voice, he slowly turned his head and opened his eyes, the sight surprised him. Standing before him, was not Andrew or his cronies. Instead, it was a purple anthro sheep, dressed in purple pants and a blue shirt, with a purple and white bow tie accompanying the shirt. On his back were a pair of wings, and on this sheep's head, above his white wool, was a white halo. The sheep was giving him a soft look of concern.
"Wh-who are you, and where did Andrew and his friends go?" Mark asked.
"My name is Collin," He replied. "As for those troublesome kids, I got them to go away, and return something they stole from you." The sheep pointed at the twenty-dollar bill on the ground, which the kid snatched up and placed in the pocket.
"Th-thank you, for getting rid of those kids, mister Collin." Mark replied with a soft grin.
"Oh no need for formalities, just call me Collin, Mark."
Mark raised an eyebrow at him, "How do you know my name?"
Collin felt himself panic slightly in his mind, wondering how he was going to explain to him that he was his guardian angel. With the idea of how he was going to do it formed in his head, he kneeled down at eye level with the kid.
"Well, before I answer how I know your name, let me ask you something, do you believe in God?"
"Yes I do, he is the one who created all things, including me."
"Indeed he did, now, do you believe that you have a guardian angel, that always watches over you?
"Yes I do, my parents told me that my guardian angel will always watch over me and protect me no matter what."
Collin gave him a soft smile at that statement, "I'm glad you feel that way, now Mark, this may sound somewhat, unbelievable to you but," He took a deep breath in preparation for what he was going to say. "I am your guardian angel."
At first, Mark didn't believe him, but then he took a look at him again and saw his halo and wings, and that was all it took for him to believe that he was his guardian angel.
"No, I believe you are my guardian angel, those wings and halo wouldn't lie to me." Collin gave a sigh of relief, glad that his child believed him.
"Good, I'm glad you believe me," He then looked Mark over, and frowned at the several wounds he had received from those kids. "I should probably take care of those wounds on you." Mark gave a nod, in agreement with him. Collin slowly but tentatively placed a hand on his child's forehead, and quietly mumbled a prayer. Mark raised an eyebrow at what he was doing and was about to ask when he felt a peaceful feeling surround him.
"Wh-what are you-?"
"I am healing you, just relax." Mark obeyed his guardian angel's command and just relaxed and focused on the peaceful feeling. A moment later, he felt the peaceful feeling go away.
"There we go, all healed up," Collin said, glad that his human was no longer hurt. "Now, please tell me why those kids were being so cruel to you." Mark's face instantly fell, prompting his guardian angel to sit down next to him, placing an arm around the kid's shoulders.
"Well, Andrew and his friends always like to make fun of me, and constantly extort me for money," He gave a shaky sigh, looking down at the ground. "And that would keep them from wanting to b-beat me up, so I made sure to always bring them m-money," His voice started to crack a little. "H-however, t-t-today, he seemed to not w-want my m-money and, h-h-he and his f-friends decided to beat me," He was starting to cry now, tears rolling down his face. "Th-they h-h-hurt me in many places, a-a-and s-said m-many horrible things, w-w-why, do they have to pick on me of all people? W-w-w-why can't they just be-" He found himself being cut off, as he felt himself being pulled toward his guardian angel, Collin wrapping his arms around the boy, giving him a warm and fluffy hug.
"Hey it's okay, those kids won't hurt you anymore," Collin said softly, as he rubbed the kid's back gently. At that moment, Mark broke down in his guardian angel's arms, and proceeded to wrap his own arms around him, hugging him. "It's okay, those kids are gone now, your safe and sound with me." He spoke more softly, quietly shushing him. Mark continued to cry, face buried in Collin's shoulder as he let himself out.
A few minutes later, Mark eventually stopped crying but didn't let go of his guardian angel.
"You feel better?" Collin asked, his voice still soft.
"A little bit." He admitted.
"Well, at least it's better than being all sad and down, right?"
"Yeah, I guess it does." The two continued to hold each other for a little while longer before Mark hesitantly let go of him, wiping his eyes as Collin let go of him as well.
"I should probably escort you home, after all, you've got a whole day still to spend." Collin said as he held out a hand, offering to help Mark stand. Mark slowly took his hand, and slowly stood up.
"Hey Collin," Mark asked, voice quiet. "Can I ask you something?"
"Of course, you can ask me anything you want." Collin replied, with a warm smile, still holding his kid's hand.
"Do you have to go back to Heaven, when I get back home?" Mark looked up at him, a worried look in his eyes. He had just met his guardian angel and didn't want Collin to leave him yet. Collin felt his heart break a little when he saw the look in his child's eyes and heard the tone of his voice, it sounded...worried, scared and nervous all rolled into one.
Collin however gave him a reassuring smile, "Don't worry Mark, as your guardian angel, I am allowed to stay with you for as long as I wish, and if you don't want me to leave," He squeezed his hand gently. "Then I'll gladly stay with you for as long as you want." Mark's face instantly lit up, and he gave Collin a hopeful smile.
"Really, you mean, you can stay with me the whole day?"
"Of course, and besides how could I say no to someone as sweet and innocent as you?" Mark gave a small smile at that.
"Well, then let's head on to my home."
If Mark could describe his whole day with Collin, it would be with one word, awesome. During that whole day, they chatted, watched movies together, and even had a brilliant dinner together. It was an awesome experience that whole day. He sighed as he looked out the window and out into the starry sky, his guardian angel sitting next to him.
"It's a beautiful night isn't it?" He asked, turning to Collin for an opinion.
"Yes, indeed it is a beautiful night."
Mark nodded still looking at him, "It's a shame that the day is already over, I had a lot of fun spending time with you."
"Aww thanks, and hey if the day is already over, then it means you had a lot of fun."
"I guess," Mark looked down for a moment. "Collin...when you have to return to Heaven, will I ever get to see you again?"
"If you ever need to see me again," Collin told him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Just pray from the bottom of your heart, and I shall come to you," Mark nodded, a smile on his face, glad that he'll be able to see Collin again, that smile soon turned to a yawn. "Sounds like your pretty tired there Mark, you should probably head to bed."
"Awww, but I want to stay with you for a little longer." Mark complained a little, resting his head against his guardian angel's shoulder in exhaustion.
"I know bud," Collin said, pulling the kid into a gentle embrace. "But you need to go to sleep, it's not good for kids your age to be up so late you know." Mark just tiredly nodded and hugged him back, head still resting on Collin's shoulder.
"Your warm," Mark said, nuzzling his shoulder. "And quite soft, makes you comfortable to hug and snuggle up to."
"Aww, that's so sweet of you, and thank you." Mark just tiredly nodded, his eyes drooping.
"Feel like...I'm gonna pass out any moment now." Mark mumbled tiredly.
"You want me to lay you in your bed?" Collin asked, petting his child's back gently.
"No, besides, your more comfortable."
"If that's what you want, then I won't let go of you." Mark gave a tired thanks, almost passing out.
"Goodnight Collin...I...love...you." Mark tiredly spoke, before finally falling asleep.
"Goodnight to you as well Mark," Collin spoke softly. "And I love you too." Giving his head a small pat, he tucked his kid in, and opened up a portal to return back to Heaven. Before walking through it, however, he turned and said one last thing to the kid's sleeping form.
"See you later, Markie."
AN: And that's it, what do you guys think? If you guys want, I could make a concept like this into a series of one-shots if you all want. Well, see you all later!
