Chapter 1

.

Pamela had been drawn to this funeral, she wasn't even sure why. She always had fun at P3, perhaps she just wanted to pay her respects to this family. Pamela and her boyfriend Jason brought food to this wake, one less thing that Victor had to deal with in this time of grief. Something about this wake seemed a bit off to Pam, but then this was her first wake in the 16 years of her life. Her parents, grandparents, and cousins were all alive. What seemed to stand out in Pamela's mind, was Victor. He had just lost both of his daughters, and a young woman who had become like a daughter to him. Pam would have thought he'd be crying like crazy, he wasn't. Then again, Victor had already seen his oldest daughter, Prudence, die four years ago. Could that experience have prepared him for this, that a man could get used to anything, even something so horrible as losing a child? Pam decided to say nothing, who was she to say how Victor should process his grief? Then Pam saw something unusual. Piper Halliwell's son, Wyatt, went into the kitchen, maybe still looking for him mommy. Wyatt was three, he didn't really understand what was happening, only that he couldn't find his mommy. Pam was pretty sure she had seen three women go into the kitchen, likely some distant cousins here for the funeral. Then Pam felt something, off. Nothing she could explain, just a weird feeling. Pam decided to go into the kitchen, make sure the child was okay. What she saw in there shocked her. Pam went to find Jason, said they needed to leave, he obliged. When they were outside, out of earshot of everyone, she explained what she saw.

.

Pam; I saw them.

Jason: Who?

Pam: The Halliwells.

Jason: You mean those cousins?

Pam: No, it was Piper, Phoebe, and Paige.

Jason: They're dead.

Pam: I know, but it was them. I know it makes no sense, why fake their deaths, and even if they did, why risk exposure by coming to their own funeral?

Jason: By any chance, was Piper Halliwell comforting one of her sons?

Pam: Yes, the older one.

Jason: Maybe, she came back for him. I've heard of this, ghosts coming back in the dreams of their loved ones, to say goodbye. Maybe Piper's love for her son was so great, she could come back, at least temporarily.

Pam: I didn't know you believed in ghosts.

Jason: I believe in a lot of things.

Pam: I guess that's possible. Could you please not tell anyone what I saw?

Jason: Ofcourse my love. We should probably leave now.

Pam: Yeah. I forgot my purse.

Jason: I'll get it for you.

.

Jason had another reason for going back, he wanted to see if any of the Charmed Ones really was back. He saw one of their "cousins" holding little Wyatt. Jason believed that Pamela really had seen Piper Halliwell, yet noone else seemed to see her. Yet little Wyatt allowed this stranger to hold him like this. Jason thought about this for a moment, it seemed possible that the Charmed Ones might fake their death to get away from their responsibilities, but maybe they wanted to reassure their children that everything was okay. Yes, a simple glamor was easy enough, some spells would even allow their loved ones to see their true appearence. That was why Pamela could see past that. What she didn't yet know, what almost noone else in the manor knew, was that Pam was the daughter of Prudence Halliwell.
