Chapter 8
.
Pam went to meet her parents, Prue and Andy. She brought Jason with her for support. Andy and Prue recognized that he was the demon trying to corrupt their daughter's soul, but they said nothing. Pam was only 18, she likely hadn't been exposed to magick yet. Telling their daughter that her boyfriend was a demon, might drive her away, and into Jason's waiting arms.
.
Pam: It's good to finally meet you.
Prue: Yeah, I haven't seen you since the day you were born.
Pam: Kind of funny, my parents gave me a name starting with a P.
Prue: Yeah, almost like fate.
Jason: Well Pamela is a beautiful name, and one in 26 odds.
Andy: I supposse you have a lot of questions.
Pam: A few. First the obvious, why did you put me up for adoption?
Prue: We were scared, and only 18 when we had you.
Andy: We honestly thought it would be better for you to have parents who could better take care of you.
Pam: I did, my adoptive parents are really good, they gave me a happy childhood.
Prue: I'm so glad to hear that.
Pam: You might have noticed that I'm a little short.
Andy: I know, so?
Pam: My parents always told me it was because my biological mother smoked while she was pregnant. Is that true?
Prue: I quit when I found out that I was pregnant, and I haven't smoked since then. It's a filthy habit and I never should have started. I'm sorry if one consequence was you being short.
Pam: I guess I can't blame you, it's not like I was planned.
Jason: That doesn't mean you're not loved now. Me, your parents...
Prue: And us, if you want us in your lives.
Pam: You are Prudence Halliwell and Andy Trudeau? Didn't you both die?
Prue: That's complicated.
Pam: I know about your sisters' faking their deaths, but why didn't you two come back when they did?
Andy: We were, in Witness Protection. I can't go into the details, I thought I could keep my loved ones, including your mother, safe.
Prue: But then, when I found out he was alive, I had to choose between going with him, or staying with my sisters.
Pam: And you choose my father.
Prue: Yeah, we found our way back to each other.
Jason: Why'd you guys leave Witness Protection?
Andy: The gangster who wanted us dead was killed by his own partners. The price of his evil I guess. Live by the sword die by the sword.
Pam: Do I have any brothers or sisters?
Prue: No, neither of us had any other children.
Pam: You're sure about that, Andy?
Andy: I'm not the type to have a one night stand. I was married, once, divorced. None of my other relationships had children with me.
Prue: But you do have two cousins, Wyatt and Chris.
Pam: Yeah, I saw them at the wake, two years ago. Thing is, I also saw Piper, Phoebe, Paige.
Prue: Yeah, Piper shouldn't have, but she had to comfort her sons. She took a risk...
Pam: Weird thing is, I also saw them at P3. How come noone else could?
Prue: It's complicated.
Pam: Look, you two have your own lives, your entitled to your own secrets. If you don;t want to let me in...
Prue: I'm a witch.
Pam: I'm not trying to be mean. I just realize that if you want your lives seperate from me that's your business.
Prue: Actually I'm being literal.
Pam: You're serious?
Prue: Yes.
Pam: So like Samantha Stevens on "Bewitched?" Or more like Willow and Tara on "Buffy?"
Prue; Probably closer to the second one. We fought demons, it's a constant war between Good and Evil.
Pam: Am I a witch too?
Prue: Yes. That was part of the reason we put you up for adoption. We wanted to keep you safe from this battle. Your father and I, we weren't in Witness Protection, we were actually dead.
Pam: So you lied to me, just now.
Andy: I'm sorry about that. I just came up with it on the spot, and your mother backed me up.
Prue: I'm sorry we lied to you.
Pam: Is that why I could see your sisters when nobody else could?
Prue: Yes. Piper did a spell that would allow her loved ones, particularly her children, to allow them to see her as she truley is. An unintended side effect was you could as well.
Jason: I'm sorry to interrupt, but how exactly are the witches the good guys and the demons the villains?
Pam: He does have a point. I mean in war both sides typically think of themselves as the good guys.
Prue: Demons are pure evil.
Pam: Every hunter is the hero, at least until you hear the lioness' version of the story. I don't want to get involved in your politics. Maybe someday I'll want to learn more. But for right now, I'd like to go home.
Prue: Fair enough. Jason could you stay behind for a minute.
Pam: You're not going to threaten my boyfriend are you?
Jason: I can handle myself.
.
After Pam left Prue and Andy spoke with Jason.
.
Prue: Let me be blunt, I know you're a demon. If you try to hurt or corrupt my daughter I will find a way to destroy you.
Jason: That a fact? I already have immunity from your powers.
Andy: Yeah, Cole confessed that to us. But Pamela still has the power to destroy you.
Jason: Yes, the one person who can destroy me.
Prue: But she has immunity to your powers, doesn't she. Which means that, if you're smart, you'll stay as far away from her as possible.
Jason: I'm a bit of a gambler. I want her power, she will be my queen. The fact that she has the power to destroy me means I need her as an ally, or I need to find a way to destroy her. You're right when you say I risk my life with this play, but at the moment she seems more willing to believe me. The only reason I haven't destroyed you two already, is because that would turn her against me. But all in good time. Have a nice day.
