Chapter 10
.
After leaving Pam's house Jason returned to his home. Specifically the part of the Underworld where he and his council met. All the great leaders of the Underworld, the Source, the Seer, the Triad, Zankou, Tempest, Barbas, and now Gideon. Gideon had been a whitelighter once, an elder even. But he had chosen evil, and was now bound to Jason's service. Gideon was somewhat uncomfortable with this, but he had accepted it. As bad as this New World Order might be, it was better than the fate that awaited him should Jason fail.
.
Jason: You did a good job today Gideon.
Gideon: It was fairly easy, just repeating the same foolishness as others. These ideas, the antichrist supporting peace, God hating gay people, were these inventions of the Underworld?
Jason: It's embarassing to say, but no, these ideas were all invented by humans. Still, I've never been one to pass up stealing a good idea. Seer, what do you forsee?
Seer: If she chooses you, you two will reign supreme, with some power for myself and the rest of the council.
Jason: If she chooses her parents, the charmed ones?
Seer: Unclear, only that she will defeat you.
Jason: What is you betray me?
Seer: Any who betray you are vanquished. If somehow you are destroyed, so are we.
Jason: And what if I find some way to destroy her?
Seer; Unclear. I thought that the terms were very specific, that neither you nor anyone under your orders could possibly harm her.
Jason: Victor thought he was being clever, but there was one thing he overlooked. I'd rather have Pamela as my queen. But if not, I will destroy her. Zankou, how goes things with our foot soldiers?
Zankou: Ready to fight and die for you. They know you'll resurrect any who fall.
Jason: That was where others have failed. Demons are by nature cowardly, they have no incentive to join grand causes. But, if their boss can resurrect them, and why not? Why not have as many foot soldiers as possible, and keep them serving me as long as possible.
.
That night, as Pam drifted between being awake and being asleep, Cole and Christy came to see her. They showed her the future, the possible future that awaited her if she joined Jason. Slavery, perpetual war, public stonings, death camps, genocide. And it involved Pamela and Jason sitting on a throne, ruling over all of this misery. When Pam woke up she realized that her boyfriend had been lying to her, probably from the beginning. She needed to talk with him.
