Chapter 12
.
Over the next month Pamela did get to know her biological family better. She hung out with her parents, got to know them. She would never have guessed that her mother once had a crush on John McCain. Pam also baby say for her little cousins, and heard some stories. She learned that Phoebe and Cole were not together, although they seemed to both care for each other. And she learned that Billie and her sister Christy had become enemies once, yet now they seemed to be trying to reconcile. Chris and Bianca were suppossed to be enemies, yet they had fallen in love and were happy. Pam was particularly happy when her father, Andy, got to see his former partner Daryl. It was touching to see old friends get to see each other again. One night, she even invited Prue and Andy to meet her parents and they all had dinner together. In many ways this was what Pamela had always wanted, to have both sets of parents in her life.
.
During this time Pamela also got to know Jason and his friends better. Jeric and Isis were indeed happy together. And groups who had once been enemies, warlocks and darklighters, the Triad and the Brotherhood, they seemed to have resolved their differences. Pam wondered, if so many people could reconcile, fall in love, why couldn't witches and demons make peace. In many ways Jason and Prue were just like divorced parents sharing company. Neither could stand to see each other, but they seemed to both genuinly care about Pam. Pam wanted it all, Jason, and her families, all together. Jason had admitted that he was also an avatar, and they'd once had the power to bring about the great peace between good and evil. Leo had believed in that once, but lost faith when they began killing people. Pam couldn't help but think, maybe if Leo hadn't lost his nerve the world would be a far better place now. And she was young, 18, barely more than a child. Pam was starting to believe that she could do this with little bloodshed.
.
One night Pam was talking to her parents. She still hadn't come close to telling them all about magick, witchcraft, or anything like that. But right now, she needed to talk to her mother.
.
Pam: It's been a crazy couple of months, hasn't it?
Mom: I'll say. I am glad you were able to reconcile with your biological parents.
Pam: Thanks for being so understanding.
Mom: You're my daughter, I only ever wanted what's best for you.
Pam: How do you know what's best exactly?
Mom: As a parent, it can get complicated. A lot of the time you don't neccessarily know what's best until it's too late.
Pam: What about complicated moral questions?
Mom: We always tried to give you a good sense of right and wrong, to do unto others as you'd have done to you.
Pam: I remember you used to sing me that Rod Stewart song like a lullaby.
Mom: As for the big questions, I can only hope I gave you enough wisdom and common sense to make good choices for when you had to make them on your own. And I think you have a good head on your shoulders, I trust you to make the right choices.
