Rachel knocked on the door. "Oli?" she asked gently.

"Go away!" Olive sobbed.

"Olive, can we just talk? We know you're upset and we want to make you feel better."

"Fine," Olive mumbled.

"That's our girl," Rachel opened the door and Jesse followed her into Olive's room.

They found Olive face down on her bed. Jesse sat on one side of her, Rachel on the other. Jesse rubbed Olive's back for a minute.

"Olive, will you please sit up? You aren't in trouble - I mean, you aren't going to be punished or anything. But we need to talk because what you said to Maya was not okay," Jesse said.

Slowly, Olive sat up. She had tears in her eyes. "What about what she said to me?" She wailed.

"Olive, what are you talking about?" Rachel asked.

"She's said mean stuff to me before but you don't care!" Olive replied.

"We know she has. So do Kurt and Blaine. And you're right - those things were not okay for her to say. Kurt and Blaine told her before she got here that if she said or did anything mean to you she'd be in trouble when they got back. But, Olive, you both have been here together, what - 30 minutes? And the only person who has said anything mean is you. She hasn't even had the chance to really say anything to you at all," Jesse said.

"You should be kind and respectful to everybody, Olive - but Maya is your sister," Rachel said.

"No, she's not!" Olive cried. "She was in your tummy and then I was in your tummy. That's it," Olive crossed her arms to emphasize her point.

Rachel sighed. She knew Olive was too young for a genetic lesson and they didn't have the time anyway. She also knew that Olive had a point. Maya and Olive did not have the traditional relationship most sisters had, despite the biological relation. In fact, Rachel was pretty sure this was the first time she had ever referred to the girls as sisters to Olive directly. She certainly had referred to them as such when talking to Jesse, Kurt, Blaine, their other friends or family - but not Olive.

"You are right that you and Maya do have a different relationship than your friends do with their siblings," Rachel acknowledged.

That seemed to at least somewhat appease Olive.

"Everything you said to Maya made me sad," Jesse chimed in suddenly. "But there was something you said that really made me sad."

Olive gave her father a look of concern. "What's that, Daddy?" She put her hand on his and both Jesse and Rachel could've melted right then and there.

"When you told Maya to have fun with her new parents," Jesse answered, taking Olive's hand in his. "Do you really feel like Maya could replace you?"

The tears were back in Olive's eyes. "Sometimes."

"Olive," Jesse pulled her on his lap and she leaned her head against his chest. He started rubbing her back again and Rachel took her hand. "Maya is a very special person. Kurt and Blaine weren't able to have a baby by themselves so Mommy helped them have Maya - just like how Grandpa Hiram and Grandpa Leroy weren't able to have a baby by themselves so Shelby helped them have Mommy."

Olive was listening intently. She wasn't exactly sure how hearing about how special Maya was was supposed to make her feel better, but maybe Daddy was going to have a point after all.

"When Kurt and Blaine had Maya, it made Mommy and I even more excited than we already were to have a baby of our own to bring home. And of all the babies we could've gotten, we got Olive Maria St. James - the best of the best." Olive smiled. She liked this point.

"Mommy, what are some things you like about Olive?" Jesse asked Rachel. "I really like her smile, her sense of humor, and her adorable laugh," Jesse tickled Olive's side, and Olive immediately giggled.

"She's so smart," Rachel replied. "And she gives the best hugs. Not to mention her incredible ballet skills," Rachel turned to Olive and planted a kiss on her forehead. Olive's grin got even bigger. She could listen to her parents shower her with praise all day.

"Nobody - and I mean nobody - could ever replace you, Oli baby," Jesse said, lightly tapping Olive on the nose. "On Wednesday evening, Maya will go back home with Kurt and Blaine, and it will be just the three of us again - just like always." Olive smiled without protesting the use of her pet name. She gave each of her parents a hug, and then Rachel spoke.

"I suppose you know that you owe Maya an apology," she said.

Olive sighed. "Yes. But can I watch TV in your room for a little while? I don't know if I'm ready yet."

Rachel looked at Jesse. She certainly didn't want to force Olive's apology, although that did need to happen at some point.

"Yes," Rachel looked at Olive's Hello Kitty alarm clock. It was just before 2:00. "You can watch until 2:45 and then you need to tell Maya that you're sorry for what you said."

"Okay," Olive skipped off to Rachel and Jesse's room and closed the door behind her.

About fifteen minutes later, Maya went upstairs because she wanted to read for a while. She was about to go into the guest bedroom when she heard a familiar theme song coming from the bedroom down the hall. Rachel and Jesse had told her that Olive was spending a little alone time in their room before she came back downstairs to apologize, but any concern of bothering Olive went out the window because…Little House on the Prairie.

Maya didn't even knock first, she just opened the door. Olive turned to glance at her briefly then looked back at the TV.

"Can I umm…watch with you?" Maya asked so softly she wasn't quite sure Olive heard her.

"Shh!" Olive replied. "It's the one where Nellie and Laura fight in the mud!" She did however, scoot over on the bed to make room for Maya.

Maya laid down next to Olive - this was one of her favorite episodes too, and soon the pair were fully engrossed in the episode - laughing at the funny parts and gasping at the shocking ones, although they both had seen it dozens of times.
