It's two and a half weeks later and poor Meredith has been put through so much. The poor girl gets 3 rounds of shots each day. Each round of shots requires 4 shots at a time. These shots are also very painful injections that burn when they go into her body. Along with other painful medical procedures also. When Ellis found the medical trial she knew it would be a painful one but that didn't bother her at all. All Ellis cares about is curing her daughter, she doesn't care about the torture Meredith is being put through.

Meredith is laying in her bed, tears streaming down her face clutching her puppy.

Wanna go home. I want Carolyn!

A knock is heard at the door and a nurse walks inside pushing a medical cart. Meredith starts whimpering and crying more.

"Hi Meredith, I've come to take some blood sweetie."

"No!" Meredith yells. "Don't wanna!"

"It won't hurt sweetie, I promise." The nurse sees how terrified the little girl is. She feels so bad for the amount of medical procedures the child is being put through.

"I want my Mommy!" Meredith sobs.

"She's not here sweetie. I'm not sure where she is. I need to take your blood sweetie. I'm really sorry."

Meredith continues sobbing. She is in so much pain from her hips right now. It's all too much for an 8 year old to handle.

The nurse pages another nurse to help her as she knows the girl won't cooperate willingly. Ever since the first shot they have had to have a second nurse in the room to hold her down in order to give her each shot. The little girl just sobs hysterically while it's happening. Every medical procedure they have had to hold her down so she can't move.

Another nurse comes into the room. She goes over to Meredith and puts her hands on her upper body to hold her down while Meredith struggles to get her off of her. The nurse draws the blood that is needed while Meredith kicks and screams. She manages to kick her blankets off of her.

The nurse finishes and nods at the other nurse signaling that she can let go of Meredith now. Meredith curls up into a ball and cries.

"Wanna go home!" She sobs. The nurses notice a wet puddle growing underneath her. They realize that she is having an accident.

"Aww sweetie. Let's get you cleaned up. Let's get some clean clothes on you." The nurses know the accidents are from her Ehlers Danlos Syndrome but they decide not to tell her mother knowing that she will get mad at the small child after witnessing that previously.

They quickly get Meredith cleaned up and into clean clothes.

"Okay Meredith all better! I will be back in a little while to give you your next round of shots."

"No!" Meredith screams. "No shots!!! It hurts!"

"I'm sorry sweetie. This will hopefully make you better. You want to get better don't you sweetie?" The nurse asks.

Meredith just sobs and ignores the nurse. She clutches her puppy to her.

She sees the nurse leave the room and decides to take action into her own hands.

"Puppy we gotta go." Meredith tells her stuffed animal. She puts her puppy into the top of her hospital gown with its head sticking out and grabs her crutches. She slowly walks to the door with each step being extremely painful on her body. She looks out the door to make sure the coast is clear and when she sees no nurses around she slips out of her room and down the hallway.

She walks down the hall unnoticed by any hospital staff. Unknown to her a lot of the nurses are attending to an emergency with a patient down the hallway.

She sees a supply closet and decides to hide in there. She opens the door and goes inside, closing the door behind her. She goes to the very back of the dark closet and hides behind the shelves. She props her crutches against the shelf and makes sure they are not noticeable. She then lays down on the floor and curls up into a ball. She cries softly to herself.

Meanwhile the nurse goes into Meredith's room with her cart full of medical supplies to give her the next round of shots but is surprised when she doesn't see Meredith in the bed.

"Meredith? Where are you sweetie?" The nurse calls out. She looks in the room and next to the bed but no Meredith. She goes to the bathroom connected to her room but she's not in there either.

The nurse starts panicking when she realizes Meredith is not in her room. She rushes out of the room and goes to the nurses station.

"Meredith Grey is not in her room! Has anyone seen her?" The nurse frantically asks.

The other nurses shake their heads no.

"I'm paging the chief. We have a missing pediatric patient. This is not good. And we need to inform the mother." The nurse says nervously.

The other nurses look at each other, none of them wanting to be the one to inform Ellis Grey that her daughter is missing.

After Meredith's nurse pages the chief she calls Ellis Grey.

Back at Seattle Grace, Ellis' phone rings in the OR.

"Can someone hit answer?" Ellis calls out.

A scrub nurse presses answer.

"Ellis Grey." Ellis responds.

"Hi, this is Nurse Anna from Mercy West. I'm the nurse on your daughter's case."

"What has she done now?" Ellis asks, annoyed. "I'm in the middle of surgery."

"Ellis, I'm sorry to tell you this but your daughter is missing. I went into her room to give her the next round of shots but she's nowhere to be found. We called a code and the whole hospital is being searched as we speak."

Ellis Grey shows no emotion on the outside but is slightly worried deep inside. "That child! She always has to cause issues. Fine, I'm on my way."

The scrub nurse ends the call.

"Dr Smith, please finish this surgery as I have to go find my trouble making daughter."

Ellis leaves and goes to Mercy West Hospital. She goes to Meredith's floor and sees nurses and other hospital staff searching the whole floor.

Nurse Anna spots Ellis and goes over to her. "Hi Dr Grey. So sorry to disturb you at work. We have not yet located your daughter yet but I assure you that she will be found. She probably just wandered off somewhere."

"She is always causing issues. She's such a nuisance of a child." Ellis says, rolling her eyes. "I try to do something nice for her by putting her into this trial and this is how she responds???"

"Nurse Anna!" Another nurse calls. "I think she's in this supply closet. I hear a small cry."

Nurse Anna and Ellis go over to the supply closet. Nurse Anna opens the door and turns the light on and walks inside. A child's cry is heard.

Ellis Grey frowns and instantly is mad. "Meredith Grey! Get over here right now!" She walks farther back into the supply closet and sees Meredith curled into a ball.

Meredith hears her mom and just cries harder at the harsh words. She feels herself being pulled up to her feet.

"Let's go! You are way too old to be causing issues like this Meredith! I get you into this trial and this is how you repay me? I can't deal with you! I was in the middle of a surgery when they called me! You are such a nuisance Meredith." Ellis yells at her small child.

Meredith sobs loudly.

"Stop crying! You're too old to cry! You're not a baby! We are going back to your room now! Walk Meredith!" Ellis pushes her forwards and Meredith begins the painful walk back to her room sobbing the entire time.

Meredith climbs into her bed when she gets there and curls into her side with her puppy clutched to her.

"I'm getting the nurse to come back now and give you your next round of shots."

"No Mommy!" Meredith sobs. "Don't want shots. They hurt!"

"They do not hurt Meredith! Suck it up and deal with it!" Ellis leaves the room and tells the nurse to come back and give Meredith her shots.

They go back to the room and Meredith is hiding her whole body underneath her sheets. She tightly holds the sheets over her so the nurse can't get to her.

"Ready for the next round?" Nurse Anna cheerfully says as she walks back into the room with the medical cart.

Meredith sobs increase in volume.

"Meredith Grey! Take those sheets off of you this instant!" Ellis yells. She is fed up with Meredith right now.

"No! It hurts Mommy! Don't want shots!" Meredith sobs.

Ellis tries to pull the blankets off of Meredith but Meredith refuses to give them up. Eventually Ellis is successful and pulls the blankets off of Meredith.

Meredith sees the nurse and all of the shots waiting to be used and tries to get off of the bed.

"Meredith, stay still! Let the nurse do her job! You are way too old to be acting like this!" Ellis says.

The nurse tries to clean Mereidth's skin but Meredith refuses to let that happen. Eventually Ellis gets fed up and holds Meredith down so the nurse can give her the shots.

"No! No! No!" Meredith yells. She sees the nurse coming at her with the first shot. The nurse injects it into her and Meredith howls in pain. It hurts so badly and burns going in.

"Mommy make it stop!!!!! It hurts!" Meredith sobs.

"Meredith, you need this!" Ellis says and continues holding down her daughter.

"Mommy!!!!!!" Meredith sobs when she's injected with the second shot. "Mommy!!! It hurts!!!! Please make it stop!!! No more shots please!!!!"

"I'm sorry Meredith but this is for your own good." Ellis hates seeing Meredith in pain but she wants Meredith to be cured and she needs this trial if she has any chance for that to happen.

Meredith is injected with the third and fourth shot. She is sobbing hysterically. "Mommy! It hurts so bad! It burns! Please make it better! I want to go home!!!!"

"You can't go home yet Meredith. There's still a few more days of the trial. You know this trial is 3 weeks long. You have to do the entire length of the trial if it has any chance of working. You have 2 days left."

Meredith's sobs can be heard throughout the whole floor.

"Wanna call Carolyn!" She sobs.

Ellis sighs and gives her phone after she dials the phone and hands it to Meredith.

Carolyn answers on the first ring. "Hi Ellis, how's Meredith doing!"

"Carolyn!!!!" Meredith sobs. "Wanna go home!!! It hurts so bad!!!! I need you!!!"
