If anyone asked, they were spending so much time together to plan their son's wedding... naught else. It was an excuse that worked, because aside from the small friendgroup celebration when everone had learned Glorfindel had married, Tinnuion's wedding to Salgant would be the first among the high-ranked Gondolindrim in Aman.
Of course, had anyone ever been at one of those meetings, they might have asked some statements more along the lines of 'that does not look like you are planning your son's wedding' and 'since when are you two involved with oneanother!?'. But considering they had more sense than some of their friends *cough* Ecthel - and according to Erestor, Glaur - *cough* they were always blessedly alone whenever these things happened.
"Rog..." Today had started innocently enough; the smith had informed his fellow parents that he had finished the first proper piece, so both Egalmoth and Aredhel had come over to give their opinions. It had been the circlet for Salgant, golden sworls holding topazes and other yellow gems. Both had been deeply impressed, admitting that Tinnuion might well still have things to learn from the older smith. Who had preened visibly at the praise.
Then, dinner graciously provided by the House of the Hammer of Wrath, during which they discussed some more details of the Midwinter Wedding. Then Aredhel had said her goodnights, the servants had cleaned up the dishes and also left.
"Rog..." His voice was far more moan-like than he'd want to admit, but he had no desire to change his situation.
"Mhm?" He was trapped between the wall and the other Lord, hands held against the wooden carvings above his head.
"You..." Whatever he wanted to say, it was swallowed by his lover - yes, they had agreed on that being a thing now - and his thoughts went right along with it.
They had just been walking down the corridor, and then suddenly he was manhandled into a bruising kiss... and he hoped to every Power it was not literally bruising, because how was he supposed to explain that away?
"When did you get this tempting!?" Rog's breath was hot on his neck. "Just a bloody month ago, I had nowhere near this much trouble to just exist beside you and now I have to hold myself back constantly!"
"If I knew..." Egalmoth laughed breathlessly, trying to keep his heart from running haywire. "I'd tell you." It did not help that he did not mind, the attention intoxicating. The white-haired Lord groaned softly, face buried in his hair. Trying to free his wrists proved an exercise in futility regardless, rough fingers like vices around them.
"I am this close to telling Turgon to go take a hike and claim you as mine." He pulled back only reluctantly, before leading the Lord of the Heavenly Arch into one of the many sittingrooms.
"I feel I need to really ask how things were among your people, if you have this much trouble waiting." The black-haired Lord meeped a bit when he was pulled into the other's lap, strong arms holding him in place. "It's just a year, Rog."
"As a rule, we didn't wait." Rough smith's callouses drew patterns on the arch of his neck, sending a shiver through his entire body. "Weren't strictly monogamous, you see, so we did not need to bother with being 'extra sure' we got the right one the first time around."
"Not monogamous?" Wrapping his arms around the broad shoulders, he got comfortable. "Groupings like Elrond has with Ereinion and Celebrian?"
"That too, certainly." Leaning back, Rog thought back to a time before he had even knew Noldor existed. "But also, for example, it was perfectly fine to just... have a one-night-stand with another. It happened regularly, from what I recall - mind that I didn't was an adult among them for long. You had a primary partner - the one your bond was with - but monogamy was not a requirement, though some certainly were." Talking of these matters seemed to help little in the smith keeping his control, lips finding Egalmoth's pulsepoint. "My mothers, for example, had one another as primary, but both met with others to make kids - five between them, though culturally only I and one other counted as theirs... and that was perfectly fine."
"I do sometimes wonder at how... restricting it is if you happen to love someone of your own gender..." Following the rules, you could basically say goodbye to having children of your own.
"While among my people, you could just go next door and ask for some assistance." There were teeth on his skin now, fingers digging into his hips. "Say, if we wanted to give Mouse some siblings, it would be perfectly okay to go ask Aredhel if she would like to come over, and leave the resultant kid with us as ours." A new lecherous undertone send him trembling. "Of course, there was the fun of watching your lover being completely undone. I will forever regret not being able to do that to you."
