The library was a popular place for sure. It struck me this land did not have any of Mr. Money's entertainment systems, so books were probably the next best thing. It was a good thing too. I would not have learned nearly as much as I did had there been anything of the sort. Way too addictive.

Creeping behind a stack with Eda, she held me back and pointed to a figure hiding behind another stack. His head was covered by a small imp consuming his entire skull.

"That's vice-principal Bump" Eda whispered to me, "He never leaves the school. I don't know what he's up to."

"Wanna find out?" I asked.

Eda nodded. Spinning a circle around both of us, I saw a bright flash of light before looking down to notice my fingers were disappearing! Eda, with an invisible hand grabbed onto mine as the transparency spread up my arms to cover my entire body. Turning where Eda stood, all that was left was a pair of yellow eyes.

"Dangit," I heard her curse, "Still can't get the eyes, but this should do. Let's go!"

You never realize how difficult it is walking when you can't see yourself. I kept bumping into small piles of books or carts. Same with Eda. Thankfully, whatever Vice-Principal Bump was focussed on was very attention consuming.

Sneaking behind the fellow, Eda and I noticed he held a small map in his hands. On it lay a blue dot, going from stack to stack, as if attempting to avoid Bump. Bump, however, seemed well aware of this, and turned to a small crew of librarians.

"I need to get ahold of this boy, Albert Albertson, short, dark hair, dark eyes, wearing a Hexside Illusion Track uniform."

The librarians seemed to understand something we did not, because they immediately knew what to do. Turning around, I saw the boy Bump described running atop the stacks. Whispering to Eda, she replied, "No. He's on the illusion track. It's a decoy I bet."

Turning back to one of the librarians who cast a net spell, I watched it phase right past the figure. Bump, in the meantime, leaned against a bookshelf and sighed. I could hear him whisper, "I really don't want to do this. . ." before getting up and directing the librarians on where to go based on the map.

Tailing behind the vice principal, I noticed the wet streaks coming from under his demon mask. Was he crying? It was too late to find out as he closed in on the boy, clearly frightened.

"Albert," Bump gave another long sigh, "You missed the Covention. You know you're required to go at this age."

Albert cowered in the corner, as two guards rushed behind Bump and grabbed the student. The boy at this point was shaking, his face sopping wet with tears, as a third guard, this one massive, moved forward, holding out a large glove.

I got a sinking feeling from the man with the glove, which was only affirmed as the boy attempted to squirm away. One of the guards held out Albert's wrist, and I could hear him whimper in pain. At this point, Eda had moved from holding my hand so we didn't get lost to clinging onto me for dear life.

As the gloved guard grabbed the boy's wrist, he screamed. I heard Eda whisper to me, "We have to go, now!"

Eda began to drag me away from the scene.
