She jolted up to the sounds of pecking on her window. The same familiar owl sat on the windowsill outside, holding a letter in its beak. She quickly let it in as her heart began to beat rapidly. She grabbed the letter and quickly unfolded it.
Hermione,
You're not quite as mad as I would expect you to be. I quite pity you. You definitely deserve a man that will respect you. It confuses me how no one has offered to marry you yet. You're quite pretty, and you're intelligent. I have no idea how Draco could have possibly taken you for granted. You're one in a million, Granger. You're quite unique. I understand that you have quite the fascination with literature. I, too, share this fascination. Specifically in poetry. Recently, I've looked into a few muggle poets. What I've found is quite interesting. Have you heard of Edgar Allen Poe? He's an absolute genius. I must admit, Muggle literature is quite good.
Lucius.
Hermione blushed. He had placed a little heart next to his signature. She grabbed a few tacks and pinned his letters to her wall. She smiled. He really was not as bad as she had thought. At least, he didn't despise muggles anymore. He didn't despise her. She quickly got started on her response.
Lucius,
If you like muggle literature, then you'll love Shakespeare. He's quite popular. You like classic literature, don't you? It's likely that you may have heard of him. One of his best works is Romeo and Juliet, but he also wrote hamlet, and macbeth, and so many more. I have those books if you'd like to read them. I know a lot about muggle literature, having grown up in a muggle household. If you want to talk about it, I would be very happy to.
Hermione.
She added the same little heart on her signature that he had. She smiled and gave the letter to the owl. It promptly soared out the window. As she watched it leave, she realized that talking to Lucius was the most eventful thing she had done in the past few weeks. Well, really the only thing she had done. "It's time to get over Draco." she told herself, getting up and deciding that she was going to take a shower.
