Archer shivered in his cell, pulling his brown cloak tight against his body as he thought about what got him in this mess to begin with. Belos had classified him as the most wanted criminal in all of the boiling isles. Surely this was an honor to be seen as so powerful, but equally deadly.
Archer had no magic of his own. All he could do is harness enough magic through his makeshift staff, which was now destroyed. He was learning the magic of the land to get by, but that was difficult and considered inferior. That did not make him powerful, however, but resourceful. Clearly, there was something that spurred Belos to set him with an impossible quest, to sentence the boy to death.
Archer's mind flicked to the strange dreams he had. Archer was well aware of his position, being the first perfect Grimwalker belonging to Emperor Belos. Belos was almost like a father to him growing up, giving him the best trainers in magic and combat. Belos for the longest time was reasonable, and attentive to the grimwalker. Then he turned 13, and he started getting missions.
Archer leaned back against the wall, and let out a soft groan. He was going to die, and he hadn't even- seen the human he summoned. Resting his head against the stone wall, however, Archer heard a strange sound, in the distance. Boom. Boom. Boom. . . It was approaching.
Pulling himself away from the stone wall just in time, Archer's cell exploded into a pile of rubble. Behind the cloud of dust was Ally, complete in their frilly pink dress and apron, atop of Marma the badger, now giant.
"Get on!" Ally pulled Archer atop the giant badger and the three leapt out of the conformatorium and into the courtyard.
"Going so soon?" Archer's head turned to Korina Blight perched upon a tower, her bright yellow eyes gleaming in malice, "Alathor?"
Ally's head snapped back at that comment, before lifting herself up off of Marma to greet the witch.
Now floating midair, Ally whispered, "How dare you use my deadname," before throwing a volley of flames at the feline-esque witch.
Korina blocked the flames with a shield of ice and spat, "still masquerading as that old hag. No wonder Alador is so quiet! You confused him."
"Leave our son out of this!" Ally now summoned a badger made of flame that was stomping forward, "Or do you forget who tormented him so much he wet the bed?"
Korina laughed, pulling out a jaguar of ice, as she said, "A boy like him needs toughened up!"
As the two battled, Ally started to conjure a serpent of vines. Before she could complete the spell however, Korina had slashed through it with a blade of ice. The two witches were matching each other blow for blow, and were not stopping anytime soon.
Archer turned his attention away from the battle and back to Marma. The palismin was clearly agitated, wanting to be part of the fight as well. Tapping the beast's shoulder, Archer whispered in her ear.
"You and I both know this can't go on forever," Marma nodded, "And she's got the terrain. So I say let's both get one good swipe at her and get out of here before things get messy.
Marma nodded, transforming herself into the staff. Her and Archer dodged multiple spells, coming from both as they made their way to the top of the tower, directly above Korina. Ally, upon noticing Archer and Marma on the roof hesitated.
"Had enough?" Korina laughed before noticing where Ally was staring.
As Korina poked her head out from her perch, Archer slammed Marma's staff on the roof and shouted, "Construction Magic!"
The whole roof began to shake and bricks fell on Korina. It was as if the entire tower was crumbling in on itself, sucking in the yellow-eyed witch, as Archer hopped onto the staff to avoid a similar demise. Ally flew forward to join the two, and all three of them escaped the conformatorium.
