Bio

THE MUDDOKON HERO

A Muddokon hero from birth, Abraham Lure isn't your typical rebel leader. He doesn't have the charisma or the leadership skills one would expect, but he does have the determination. He was the one to liberate the Muddokon from certain slaughter at the hands of the Glukkon which has earned him the ire of some very powerful people and yet, Abe manages to survive. Though not co-ordinated or violent, Abe is capable of using a variety of unorthodox means to ensure his own survival and the downfall of anyone who threatens that.

Intro

On the floors of RuptureFarms meat processing plant, Abe gingerly stepped out from his cover. No matter how many times he did this, he still got nervous when sneaking around. The Glukkons knew who he was now, so they were extra careful when looking out for him. As he walked down another corridor, he saw a door with some symbols on it like a blue X and a green triangle. "That doesn't look like anything I've seen before..." He muttered to himself. As he crept around a corner, he saw a Slig on his patrol and backed up. Best to find another way to go. As he walked back the way he came, more Sligs came into view. "Oh no...they must have seen me somewhere. Gosh, I really need to be more careful..." He began looking around frantically for a way out, quickly realising that the only way he was getting out was through the strange door. "Well, here goes nothing..." Abe swallowed hard and pushed through, finding himself falling into a blue portal. Just like that, the door disappeared. The Sligs showed up, looking around for the Mudokon liberator. "I thought you said he was here!" One of them said to the other. "He was! He must have...disappeared!" The first one smacked him over the head with the butt of his gun. "Come on! Don't waste my time like that again."

Rival Scene

Abe had been very lucky to make it this far, at least in his own view. He walked gingerly through the crystal arena, constantly checking to make sure that nothing was going to leap out of the shadows at him. "Well, it could be worse Abe..." He spoke to himself. "You could be running from Glukkons through some horrible cramped factory. Right?" He shut up when he saw the weird creature with detached arms walking by, accompanied by a flying green creature and a giant blue frog. It took notice of him. "Yo Murfy, what is that thing?" The armless creature pointed at Abe. "I'm not sure, looks like a fish out of water." Murfy responded. The armless creature jumped towards Abe who took a step back in response. "Now hold on fellas, there's gotta be an easy solution to all of this." He attempted to reason. Rayman lowered his hands. "No! It's a trap Rayman!" The blue frog piped up. "I've seen it all before!" Whether or not that was true, it was enough to convince Rayman to get back into a fighting stance. "Nonono, you've got this all wrong fellas!" Abe continued to protest. But looking at Rayman and seeing there was no other way for him to get through, Abe got ready to stand up for himself.

Outro

"So there was all these weird guys fighting each other in places you've never even seen before?" Alf clarified. "But at the same time, you recognised some parts." Toby continued. Abe nodded. He had been placed back on the train heading which his fellow Mudokon had commandeered. "I don't know Abe, that seems like you might have dreamed it or something." He shook his head. "Not a chance. I couldn't have dreamed anything this crazy." The other two Mudokon looked at each other and shrugged. "Well, if that's what you wanna believe Abe, I won't hold it against ya." Abe looked out the window, scratching his chin, before realising something. "I got it! Proof that I'm not lying!" The train then began to glow blue and speed up significantly. "Woah!" Toby struggled to keep his balance initially. "Abe, what is this stuff?" Abe shrugged. "I don't know. But it proves I'm telling the truth about the people I fought, right?" He had a smug look plastered on his face. "Alright," Alf conceded. "I guess we were wrong to doubt ya Abe." Abe laughed. "With this stuff, saving Mudokons is gonna be a synch!"

Author's Note

Rivalry Connection: Both Abe and Rayman started on PS1 as sidescrollers before eventually going 3D. Both characters have been enslaved, Abe to the Glukkons and Rayman to Razorbeard in Rayman 2. Both characters make use of chants, as well as mystical abilities given to them by other characters.

Admittedly it was quite difficult to come up with a reason for Abe and Rayman to fight, luckily Globox exists to instigate conflict. I've never played an Oddworld game aside from the New N'Tasty demo on PS4 admittedly but due to Abe being canned for PSAS way back when there exists enough resources to come up with an unconvential albeit unique moveset.
