Bio

THE BIO-TERRORIST TURNED HERO

A delinquent belonging to the Akomish tribe in Washington state, Delsin Rowe's life was changed forever when attempting to help people escape from an overturned military vehicle. It was there Delsin discovered that not only was he a conduit, he had perhaps the most potent ability of any conduit: The Power Sponge. Delsin is able to take the powers of other conduits for himself as well as reading memories from the people he touches. He would use this ability for good, ending the tyranical reign of the DUP over Seattle and showing other conduits to use their powers for good.

Intro

Back in Seattle again, Delsin sat at the top of Space Needle just taking in the view. It had been just over a year since the DUP were taken down and while they still tried to impose their authority on the city, public support for them had collapsed. Still, he had to deal with them whenever they did show up. All of a sudden, his phone rang. Eugene Simms, his geeky ally. "What is it Eugene?"

"Delsin? Can you swing by my place? This is something you're gonna wanna look at. I've called Fetch as well." Delsin wondered what that could be. Maybe that paper girl was back? Whatever the case, he was quickly over. "Alright, what is it?" He asked, entering the computer den. "It's an e-mail of some kind, addressed to you." Delsin looked at it. It certainly was addressed to him, but there was a glaring question..."Why didn't they just send it to me?" He asked. "Yeah, I'm sure you check your e-mail." Fetch suggested sarcastically. "Alright, point taken. What is it?" He asked. "Well, it seems to be an invite to a tournament of some kind. The e-mail says that you should go alone." Delsin thought about it. "I guess I'll have to go then." He was already making his way for the exit when Fetch grabbed his arm. "You don't think this is even a little bit weird? Like it could be a trap or something?" Delsin had considered that. Truth was he didn't really care, but he couldn't say that. "Well, it's worth checking out. I'll keep you guys posted. Besides, it may be where conduits gather. We could use the help, right?" Seeing that there wasn't much point in arguing with Delsin, Fetch reluctantly agreed. "Just don't do anything stupid, ok?" Delsin made an ok sign as he walked out the door, ready to take on whoever was out there.

Rival Scene

"Well, I'm still alive." Delsin spoke into the phone. "Well, I'm glad to hear it. But where are you? Your phone's GPS tracking stopped working a while ago." Delsin looked around. "Well, I guess that makes sense. I'm definitely sure I'm not on earth. I think this place would be on the map by now in any other-Wait just a second." Delsin turned his attention to a woman who seemingly floated through the air to perch herself on top of the hexagonal columns. "I've just seen another conduit. I've gotta find out what her powers are." Without waiting for a reply he hung up. "I uh...hey, mind if I come up?" He asked. Before waiting for a response, he used his smoke powers to jump up. That was a mistake. Startled, the woman used some weird powers of hers to force Delsin back to the ground. Delsin landed on his feet which saved him from harm but he was still taken aback. "What the hell?" He muttered to himself. "How can you do that?" Kat asked. "Haven't you heard of me? I'm kind of a big deal." Kat shook her head. "I could say the same, but you obviously don't know me either." He had to concede, that was true. "I'm kind of amazed that I don't. With powers like those? How did the DUP not make you public enemy number one?" He asked. "I'm sorry but I have no idea what you're talking about." Delsin paused for a moment before deciding to cut to the chase. "Look, my deal is that I can absorb your powers. If you could let me do that, that'd be real convenient." He explained, reaching out. Kat backed away. "That's not how this works." Delsin stopped and laughed. "I know you haven't met me, but that IS how this works." He took another step forward. "Now, we can do this the easy way or the hard way but the bottom line is, I'm not leaving without some of that power." Kat took a defiant stand against him, activating her gravity powers. "You'll take my powers over my dead body!"

Outro

"Good to have you back D." Delsin was back in Seattle, this time outside. "Good to be back...for the most part. No one wanted to come back though." Fetch shrugged. "I guess we aren't really people people." Eugene smiled in agreement. "Still, the powers I have now were enough for all of those weirdos. I guess that's a good sign." Delsin let smoke course through his hands. No matter how many times he did it, it was still cool. "Glad to see what I taught you stuck." The purple haired conduit remarked. "I gotta say, we didn't need more than this to take down Augustine. Any help we get at this point would just be a bonus." Eugune argued. "Still, it was cool to see what some of those guys were capable of. It's definitely tougher than taking down DUP goons." As if on cue, a DUP APC pulled up with sirens blaring. Soldiers got out and pointed their guns at Delsin. "Delsin Rowe, you're under arrest!" Delsin took a step towards them as Fetch and Eugene prepared to back him up. "Come on, can you guys seriously not come up with something better than that?" He began to give off a blue aura. "Oh well, your funeral I guess."

Author's Note

Rivalry Connection: Both Delsin and Kat are shunned from society because of their powers. They both aim to save people from impending death (Delsin wants to save his tribe from death by concrete and Kat wants to save Hekseville from the rising black sea). Delsin and Kat both encounter similarly powered people who are perceived as evil by society and help them change their public image (Fetch with Delsin and Raven with Kat). Both also endeavour to bring down corrupt governments who claim to protect the people from danger.

I really liked InFamous: Second Son, and First Light too. Even though it was short as hell, it's a fun smashey smashey game with a half-baked story but really good characters for the most part. I just wish we got more.
