It was later on that night, and I was getting ready for the game that was tonight. I had a bad feeling in the pit of stomach about it. I glanced around my room as I threw on my jersey. I always wore my jersey from the lacrosse team last year to the games for this year. I had it tapered down a bit, so it was more form fitting. I drove to the lacrosse game and when I got there, I pulled my sweatshirt over my head and pulled my hood up. When I got halfway to the field, I saw someone running at me. I was about to punch them and knock them out when I realized it was Scott. I sighed and relaxed, rolling my shoulders back a little bit.
"Coach is making us play. I need you to be eyes in the stands." He said. I nodded.
"Always." I smiled. I jogged with Scott to the field.
"How did you know I was here?" I asked. He chuckled at me.
"Scent." He murmured as we joined Liam and Corey at the field. They nodded at me.
"If any of you see them yell and Sky will get ready to fight." Scott said. I nodded. That's when they got called to the field. I watched from the sidelines, and I noticed as the game went on the wind got worse and I walked over to Hayden. She glanced up at me surprised.
"You're here." She murmured. I nodded.
"Always." I said. She nodded and we watched the game and when the game went into the second half Mason ran up to us. I pulled my hood closer around me as the wind kicked up more. I didn't like the way this wind was blowing. It seemed to ominous to me to just be normal wind.
"It's Parrish." Mason said. I stared at him confused.
"He's the reason the ghost riders left the party." He said. I just stared at him confused.
"The hell hound scared the Ghost riders?" I muttered skeptical. He looked at Hayden.
"Call your sister and tell her we need Parrish to meet us at the school right now." He said.
"What about the players and Gwen?" Hayden said as she pulled out her phone to start calling her sister.
"Parrish can keep all of them safe." He said. That's when we heard a horse. I glanced back as it started to rain, and I saw Corey run up to Scott. I ran out to the field and met up with Scott.
"Liam!" Scott called. He was standing next to Gwen. I glanced at them before glancing back at Scott.
"I see them." He said. That's when the lights got taken out by a random lightning strike. All the people were running for the parking-lot. That's when I saw Scott grab onto Corey, and I grabbed onto Scott which brought me in on the know. I saw three guys riding on a horse and one of them was dragging a lacrosse player across the field by a lasso. He was screaming his head off. I growled and whipped out my claws.
"Stay together we'll protect you." Liam said.
"Run!" Scott said. We went to turn but they surrounded us.
"What do we do Scott?" I muttered. He stared at me and my eyes were glowing as one of them shot a gun and the kid disappeared. We let go of Corey and Scott and I could still see them. That's when I heard a roar. I glanced over to see Liam with glowing eyes and fangs all out. He tackled one of the players.
"We got to do something Scott." I hissed as Liam got thrown off the ghost rider. Another gun shot fired and a kid disappeared. We were going to watch them all disappear if we weren't careful.
"Protect Gwen." Scott roared. I nodded and growled moving, so I was in front of Gwen. She pushed me aside and ran in front of all three of us.
"What are you doing?" I snapped at her, but she waved her hands up at them.
"Come on!" She yelled. That's when she got shot and disappeared. My mouth dropped open, and I couldn't believe that had just happened. Why would she do that to herself?
"No!" Scott yelled. As soon as she was gone completely the rain stopped and I sputtered. I glanced at Liam and Scott and realized all the players we had tried to protect were gone. I let out a loud growl. We all walked back inside, and Scott called Malia to see what had happened at the Bunker. I was listening in on the conversation as Liam, Hayden, Corey, and Mason came down the hallway. I growled and slammed my head back into the locker as Scott got off the phone and told them what had happened.
"Everyone's gone." I hissed.
"Tonight…" Liam said.
"It isn't your fault." Scott said.
"It's mine." He said. I looked up at him.
"We should've done both ideas. The lightning rod and the bunker. It would've given us a better chance." He said and then he walked out. I turned around and punched the locker before walking out. I walked out behind Scott, and I sighed rubbing my eyes. I got into my car and sighed. I pounded on the wheel and let out a scream. I needed to get home and think things through. Maybe Luna or someone knew something that we didn't. When I pulled into the driveway I sighed and just let myself sit there. I leaned my head back and I heard the door open. I glanced up to see Max staring at me from the doorway. I nodded and got out of the car and walked towards the front door. He was dangling something from a key ring.
"What's that?" I asked confused as I reached out for them. They looked like car keys.
"Good question. Mom found these keys in your pocket of your sweatpants that just randomly appeared in your room." He said.
"My sweatpants? Are you sure they're mine?" I asked scrunching my face up at them. He shrugged and went inside after I took the keys. I walked upstairs and saw the sweatpants on my bed. I held them up and smelled them. They had my scent on them, but they were not my size, and they were huge on me. I ran my hands over them and then looked at the keys. It had three different keys on it. One was painted blue at the top of it. The other was painted green and then another red.
"What do you belong to?" I whispered as I laid them on my nightstand. I got changed and then laid down in bed staring at the ceiling before glancing at the keys. I shook my head and rolled onto my side before falling asleep.
It was the next morning and I had gotten to school late. For some reason my alarm never went off and when I got there classes were almost getting ready to start. I saw Scott and Lydia in the parking-lot talking to this tow truck guy. They were staring at a blue jeep that I didn't recognize. It was an older body style for wrangler.
"Sky!" Lydia yelled.
"Yeah?" I asked confused, changing directions.
"Do you have any money?" She asked. I shrugged. I pulled out fifty dollars. She grabbed it out of my hand and then handed it to the guy.
"What the hell was that?" I muttered as the guy started to unhook the jeep that was getting ready to be towed away.
"We have a jeep." Lydia said. I raised my eyebrow at her before glancing back at the jeep.
"And for what reason?" I muttered staring at it. She just shrugged and I stared at the jeep which was the same color as the paint on the key I had on my nightstand. Lydia and Scott were just staring at me. I started to chew on the inside of me cheek.
"What is it?" Scott asked.
"That jeep…" I muttered. I put my hand on the jeep and closed my eyes. That's when I opened my eyes and looked into the jeep. I saw that my sweatshirt was in the back seat.
"Dude my sweatshirt is in the back of the jeep!" I snapped pushing my face against the glass.
"Wait, what?" Scott asked coming up beside me. In the back seat was my sweatshirt. I pointed at it.
"Who got it for you?" Scott asked.
"Stiles did for our anniversary!" I snapped at him. He stared at me and I can't believe those words came out of my mouth. They both stared at me. My lips parted surprised as hell that those words just flowed effortlessly from my mouth like that. I hadn't even processed what was being said till it was out.
"We need to get back to class." Scott muttered. I stared at my sweatshirt.
"You two can. I'm staying right here." I muttered. Scott just stared at me worried. My hands were shaking and there was no reasoning for me yelling that statement. I sighed and then once I had coaxed them enough into going back inside and I went to my car and moved it, so it was beside the jeep. I just sat there with the windows down. I put my head to door and sighed before calling Max.
"Hey." I said as he picked up.
"What's up?" he asked.
"I need a favor." I muttered.
"Like what?" He asked.
"I need you to bring those keys that you found last night to me at school." I said.
"Where are they?" He asked.
"Um…on my night stand I think is where I left them." I muttered.
"Okay…are you okay?" He asked. I just sighed deeply into the phone.
"I just need them." I muttered.
"Alright see you soon." He said before hanging up. I clicked my phone and then just sat there. It was later on in the day when he finally brought me them right as the radio in the car started to wig out with static. I stared at it and grabbed the keys from him. He glanced at the jeep confused.
"Who's jeep?" He asked. I shrugged.
"I don't know." I muttered as Lydia came outside and was staring at it. Then after a few minutes Scott and Malia came out.
"It's coming from inside the jeep." Lydia said to them both. I nodded and Max stared at us confused.
"You all are weird." He muttered. Then that's when Malia and Scott went up to the door and jiggled the handle to just find it locked.
"Break it." Lydia said.
"Wait," I said before they even did that. They glanced at me, and I walked up the door and put the key that was painted the same shade of blue as the jeep into the keyhole. I jiggled it a bit by some habit before turning it. We heard the lock pop and they all stared at me. I glanced down at my hand and the key and my heart was starting to beat out of my chest.
"Max found the keys in a pair of sweatpants that were in my hamper apparently at the house last night after everything happened." I muttered as I pushed the button o the door hand and it popped open. The static on the radio was going crazy. Then that's when they started to rummage through the car. Scott had handed me my sweatshirt which smelled like a certain type of cologne. When they were looking through the jeep the static just stopped.
"Why did it stop?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter. There has to be a reason." Lydia said. That's when Scott closed his eyes. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"What?" I asked.
"You have a scent?" Lydia asked.
"Yeah. Mine. Yours. All of ours. Though it seems like mine and Sky's is the strongest…" He said as his eyes lingered on me.
"Mine? I've never been in this jeep before." Malia asked.
"Neither have I." Scott said.
"Yes, we have." I muttered. We must've been somehow.
"We didn't tell you we were done with Stiles?" Malia asked. My eyes stared to water, and I felt like someone had suckered punched me. I glanced at all of them hurt and confused.
"What?" I muttered.
"We found out yesterday that Claudia never had any kids." Scott murmured.
"Then tell me why I screamed what I did earlier Scott?! TELL ME!" I screamed at him clinging to the sweatshirt. He just shrugged.
"I don't know, Sky but Parrish also checked the vin number and had no record of owner." Scott said. I just shook my head not wanting to believe a word of what they were all saying to me. I didn't want to believe it.
"The jeep just didn't appear here Scott! I didn't just magically have keys to the jeep either. And if I can take a guess at the other keys. The red is to the Stilinski's back door of the garage while the green is to the front door." I snapped. That's when Lydia nodded, and Scott paused for a moment.
"Whose side are you on?" Malia asked.
"I don't care what you guys say. He existed." I muttered.
"I'm on everyone's side." Scott said.
"He's not real. Trust me guys." Malia said. I growled at her angrily and whipped around to face her.
"Fuck that." I muttered angrily and before any of them could say any different to me I jumped into my car and sped off. I turned my phone on silent and sighed as I went to my special place where I could just sit and think. After just sitting at the reservoir for a little bit I began walking. That's when I heard something, and I smelled something burnt. Right after the smell I heard the roar. My eyes lit up red. I started to run. When I got to the spot where the burnt smell was. I stared down at the person. I stared at him confused.
"Peter?" I asked. Then I bent down over him and stared at him. Then Scott and Malia showed up.
"He still has a heartbeat." Malia said. I nodded.
"He's alive but burned bad." I muttered.
"How did he get here? There's no tracks, no fire…" Scott muttered. He opened his eyes as Malia bent down close to him.
"Oh my god. Peter?" Malia said.
"Who's Peter?" Scott said coming over to both of us. I stared at him confused. Peter Hale? Really?
"Peter Hale." I said to Scott.
"My dad." Malia said. He was nodding. That's when I think the memories of him came rushing back to him. He blinked startled and then glanced at us all.
"He bit me. How could I forget him?!" Scott demanded. I just glared at the ground.
"The wild hunt." I said. That's when he was nudging his hand.
"He has something." Malia said. I saw Scott take his hand and so did Malia to ease his pain. Then Malia took from his hand a set of keys.
"To the jeep." I muttered. He nodded. I drove Scott back to the jeep where Lydia was while Malia stayed with Peter. When we got back to the jeep Lydia had gotten in on the driver's seat while I sat in the back. Lydia tried the keys a few times and the third time the jeep came on. I smiled and that's when the radio came back on. Scott turned it down, but I caught a hello as he did.
"Wait!" I said grabbing the microphone. They both stared at me. I picked up the receiver and held the button taking a deep breath.
"Stiles?" I asked. There was nothing said back over the radio for a moment. Scott pushed my hand down on the button.
"Stiles you there?" Scott asked. There was a crackling and then a voice came through on the other side.
"Sky…Sky is that you?! Scott?!" He asked. I smiled at the receiver. Lydia pushed the button.
"Yes! We can hear you!" Lydia said.
"You remember me?" He asked.
"Yes, how could I forget you. You…you love me." I whispered. I heard him chuckle on the other end.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine. Where are you?" I asked.
"We're coming to get you." Scott said.
"No don't. You won't find me." Stiles said.
"Stiles, what are you talking about? Tell us where you are, and we'll come get you." Scott said.
"Remember this. Canaan. You have to find Canaan. Just find Canaan." He said before he cut out. I growled and would've crushed it in my hands had Lydia not grabbed it out of it.
"Stiles?!" Lydia asked clicking it getting no response.
