Bio
THE GHOST OF SPARTA (AND SON)
Kratos' legacy in Greece was one of bloodshed and chaos. Having killed his father the King of Gods, Zeus, Kratos departed Greece in hopes that he may escape his past. He raises his son Atreus in Scandinavia, but the past had a funny way of catching up to him. Kratos was to fulfill the dying wish of his wife and Atreus' mother, Faye by scattering her ashes at the highest peak in the Nine Realms. Kratos had hoped he could keep his past a secret from Atreus to prevent him from going down the same path which he did, but it was not to be. Atreus would learn the truth, that he too was a god. Kratos trains Atreus regardless to be a fierce warrior, though Atreus' abilities in combat are mostly limited to supporting his dad. Kratos has abandoned most of his Greek weaponry, save for the Blades of Chaos. He wields the Leviathan Axe and Guardian Shield. But Kratos' limited arsenal does not make him weaker. If anything, having so few weapons has made him extremely proficient in each and every one of them.
Intro
"So where are we going?" Atreus asked his father, who was scaling a cliff. Atreus had gotten used to this, he didn't fear the drop no matter how far. "There is one who calls himself a God in far off lands. He has challenged all he deems worthy of wielding his power to come and take it off him." Kratos explained. "That doesn't sound like our problem." Atreus argued. "I decide when that is so." Kratos countered. "I have reason to suspect this is a ploy by some deviant who wishes to sow chaos amongst the Gods." He explained. Atreus was interested. "How would he do that?" The boy asked. "Mortals have been invited to this gathering. If this so-called God is serious about the power he possesses, then it would be a disaster for it to end up in the hands of a mortal. They would be totally inequipped to deal with it. That is why it is imperative we are the ones to retrieve it." Kratos reached the top of the cliff, with Atreus climbing off his back. "If you say so. We'll stop this power falling into the wrong hands..."
Rival Scene
"Father, have you been to a place like this before?" Atreus asked. "No. I have not." Kratos replied. "Keep your wits about you son." He stopped Atreus from walking any further, noting the woman in deep thought wielding a massive and powerful looking blade. "There is but one test to find out who we're dealing with." Kratos explained, sending one of the Blades of Chaos towards her. Nariko was alert to it though and raised the Heavenly Sword to block the attack. She then rolled towards them, keeping the sword raised. "Too slow, I'm afraid." She looked Kratos in the eye. "You handle yourself well. But this place is unsuitable for mortals. I suggest you turn around." The Ghost of Sparta warned. "I'm afraid you have so little understanding of who I am and what my goals are that it would be impossible to explain. To put it simply, I'm not leaving. It is not something I can afford to do." She explained. "You will also be unable to afford the cost of staying here." Kratos fired his second warning. "I order you to walk away, or draw your last breath." Nariko stood back, poised to strike with the Heavenly Sword. "I'm afraid I don't plan on doing either." Atreus drew his bow as Kratos waited for his opponent to make the first move.
Outro
"That so-called God must have been a fake. He was no challenge." Atreus suggested, full of confidence. "He may have been, but he still commanded impressive power." Kratos conceded. "It is easy to see why those warriors were tempted. Nevertheless, they proved with their own shortcomings why none of them could ever wield it." Having returned to Midgard, it didn't seem as though they would have much to do. Reunite with Mimir and tell him about what had happened, but that was it. "What now father?" Atreus asked. "We must be ready for Ragnarok to occur. When that time comes, that will be our true test. I took you on that journey to hone your skills for that day as much as anything else." Atreus figured as much. It had been on his mind. What would they do when Ragnarok happened? It seemed that the trials they faced while scattering his mother's ashes paled in comparison. Kratos could see Atreus deep in thought and put his hand on his shoulder as they arrived at the house. "For now though, we rest. We have done enough for today." The duo began to glow blue. "We will overcome Ragnarok father, I just know we will."

Author's Note
Rivalry Connection: Both characters are partially red, wielding seemingly ethereal blades as their primary means of combat. Both have short tempers and both have died.
I had a tough time figuring out what I wanted to do with Kratos' moveset. His PSAS moveset worked well...a little too well. I decided this would be an opportunity to change things up a little. While it's a admittedly a waste to leave behind all of Kratos' weapons prior to God of War 2018, I liked the challenge of inventing a new moveset for Kratos to use. It would have been more wasteful imo to see all the new weapons and do nothing with them. I know Kratos can't use two talismans at once but I wanted to make his Level 3 feel like a Level 3 and I felt that was the best way. Maybe Kratos' old arsenal can make for some items. Also, haven't played God of War. Any of them. But I recognise as well that Kratos has changed and is much better able to contain his anger, so I redid all his intros, quotes, the whole shebang.
