Light, and then...
Copper filled his mouth. His throat was dry. The darkness penetrated his scales, poison light skittering beneath, singeing mercilessness into his bones. Oil filled the veins laced among his tissues and was purged by searing light, again, and again, and again and again. The sugars in his cells boiled, shattered their walls, died, necrotised. What coursed through his blood was terrifying: gaping earth, clinging electricity, cold fire all entwined within him, bleeding into one leaden mass that extinguished itself in his chest with a flare. Drained him of all heart; usurper of his being. Smoulders of his memories filled his nose. He snuffed them out. Freed himself of the asphyxiation. All that was left was malice.
He flexed his claws.
