Bio

THE PURPLE DRAGON OF LEGEND

Spyro is a rare breed of dragon born once every ten generations. As an egg he was sent down a river where he was taken in by a family of fireflies. Despite growing up with them, Spyro did not learn he was a dragon for several years. Upon learning that he was not a dragonfly, Spyro sought out his real home amongst other dragons. Aided by his foster-brother Sparx, Spyro would go on some truly fantastical adventures. He would pull an exploding planet back together, defeat the dark master Malefor and save the dragons who he had sought out for so long. With his wide variety of elemental attacks and his remarkable durability, Spyro is a tough opponent to break down.

Intro

Spyro rushed to the Professor's lab as fast as he could upon hearing that something was wrong. "Alright, who's causing you trouble Professor?" Spyro demanded, looking around for someone to hurt. "Um...no one, Spyro. I never said anyone was in danger." He explained. "But you did say something was wrong, right?" The Professor nodded. "I was checking the portal device as I frequently do this morning. Everything seemed to be in order, but I happened upon a very strange place. A powerful place too! There was a booming voice on the other side that said: 'Surrender or be invaded!'" The Professor shuddered. "I'm guessing you want me to take a look at it." Spyro put two and two together. "If you wouldn't mind, please? I'm worried this could be Ripto up to his old tricks!" Spyro had never thought of that. "I guess it could...in that case, fire it up! Sparx and I will take a look." The Professor fired up the portal and watched as Spyro and Sparx raced through.

Rival Scene

"I'm not sure what the Professor thinks is here. Have you seen even one of Ripto's goons?" Spyro asked. Sparx buzzed around him. "I didn't think so." Spyro agreed. Then Sparx began to hover near two humans not too far away from Spyro. "Wonder what they want?" He wondered. They looked at him while conversing amongst themselves. Then the man in the red armour pulled out a sword and walked up to Spyro as Sparx came flying back, warning Spyro to expect a fight. "I should have figured there would have been dragons here." Dart pointed his sword at Spyro. "I've taken down a lot bigger and tougher than you." Spyro backed up just enough to be out of the range of the sword, and began flying. This guy must have been in league with Ripto. No time to ask questions either way. "Bigger? Maybe. But tougher? Hah. I've heard that before."

Outro

"Well, you were right Professor, there were some really creepy things on the other side of that portal. But it should be ok now, I took care of all of 'em." The Professor shut off the portal device. "Well? Did you put that Ripto in his place again too?" He asked. "Well, it wasn't Ripto. I'm not sure who it was. But like I said, it's taken care of." Spyro answered. "Well, that's a relief." The Professor wiped his brow. "It's good to have you around Spyro, I don't know how we'd manage otherwise." Spyro brushed off the praise while Sparx buzzed around his head. "What's that? Oh right!" Spyro had forgotten. "What is it?" The Professor asked. "I'm supposed to be at a celebration! I'm really cutting it fine!" The Professor ran outside after Spyro just in time to see the dragon take to the air. "Will you get there in time?" The Professor asked as Spyro began to give off a blue aura. "Now that you mention it...yeah. I think I'll get there in record time!"

Author's Note

I've only ever played two Spyro games and one of them was Skylanders. I'm not sure that counts. The other was DS game that I remember not liking (fairly sure it was Dawn of the Dragon). That being said I did always know who Spyro was even if I was more of a Crash Bandicoot guy. Maybe I should pick up Re-ignited.
