Bio

THE SAVIOUR OF THE PATAPON

To the Patapon, Taterazay is the closest they will ever get to divine guidance. A fusion of the Almighty Patapon and the Hero Patapon, Taterazay is an effective leader of the people who needed him. His legendary skill with sword and shield is unparalleled. He was able to lead the Patapons to Earthend and defeat the Seven Archfiends. Of course this was not done on his own. His group of Hatapon, Ton Yaripon, Chin Tatepon and Kan Yumipon provide him with well needed support. Being the saviour of Patapon is a heavy weight to bear, but Taterazay is more than capable of bearing it.

Intro

The last of the Patapon army marched bravely onward in search of Earthend. Taterazay decided they had gone far enough today and decided to settle for the night. Taking refuge in a cave, they all sat around a fire. "Earthend can't be much further now, can it?" Ton asked. "I can't imagine it is." Taterazay answered. Truthfully he didn't know, but he wouldn't tell them that. They enjoyed the hope. "I bring good news! Shzamm!" It was Silver Hoshipon. The star shaped Patapon floated in, circling the group. "I have received word of travellers from all over who have gathered for a source of great power!" They all perked up at that. "That must be Earthend!" Kan exclaimed. "Yes! It must be, Hoshipon!" Taterazay reached for his weapons. "But what business would those others have at Earthend?" He asked. "Shzamm! I am not sure, admittedly..." He confessed. "Well, we can't afford to be second to it. We must make haste for this source of great power!" The Patapons rushed out of the cave and quickly assumed marching formation, off to find whatever this was, hoping they had found Earthend at last.

Rival Scene

It might as well have been Earthend for all the Patapons knew. The crystals so tall they pierced the sky. The blue waves which occupied the pitch black sky above. Yet the platform remained perfectly illuminated. "This is certainly a strange place...could this be Earthend?" Chin asked. "I don't think so. But there is no doubt all those people were headed here, so there must be something important here, shzamm!" Hoshipon answered. "Indeed." Taterazay agreed. "Be on the lookout for this source...and any threats to u-OOF!" Taterazay found himself in a vice-like hug. "Look Nep Jr.! Look how cute they are!" Taterazay disliked being called cute. "Let me go!" He demanded, just about breaking out of her hug. "Neptune! You really shouldn't do that!" A second woman ran up to them. The way they both had purple hair and dressed similarly, they could have been sisters. "What if they're dangerous?" Nepgear asked. Neptune dismissed her concern. "How could they be?" She asked facetiously. "Well, the swords and spears they're carrying don't look all that nice..." Nepgear was already reaching for her sword. "Greetings. I am Taterazay. Leader of the Patapons." Taterazay introduced himself. Neptune went to pinch his cheek before he slapped her away. "Don't do that." He warned her. "We want to know what your business is here." Neptune was already answering as Nepgear thought of a response. "Well, I'm Neptune! Goddess of Planeptune! I came here cause I thought it'd be a good way to get a lot of power that didn't involve shares, y'know?" The Hoshipon circled. "Goddess? You cannot be! They must be pretenders! Shzump!" He exclaimed. "I agree. First you insult me, then you claim you are a Goddess. Next you will tell me your sister is too." The Patapons assumed their battle positions. "Well actually-" Neptune shut her sister up. "Looks like you were right Nep Jr., these guys mean business." Her sword materialized in her hands, as did Nepgear's. "Told you so." The two sisters assumed fighting stances as Taterazay readied his troops against the most brutal fight they would face so far.

Outro

"I don't understand how that couldn't have been Earthend." Taterazay scratched the back of his head. "Believe me, I've seen Earthend and that wasn't it. Shzamm!" Silver Hoshipon argued. "Well then, what was it?" Hoshipon shrugged. "It's reasoning eludes even me." None of them were quite sure what it was they had encountered, or how they ended up back in their world either. "What were those creatures we fought?" Kan asked. "Have you ever seen anything like them? I believe that what we experienced was out of this world." There was solid reasoning there. "Maybe. I can't think of a better explanation." Taterazay confessed. "Perhaps it was a gift. A gift which will help us find Earthend and save the Patapon! Shzamm!" All of them began to glow blue as they advanced towards yet another battlefield. "I hope so." Taterazay replied. "We will need all the help we can get to ensure our return. Now soldiers! For the Patapon! Attack!" The glowing Patapons lunged into battle, ready to cut down anything that stood between them and their divine homeland!"

-Playing Pata-Pata-Pata-Pon will temporalily increase movement speed.

-Playing Pon-Pon-Pata-Pon will temporarily increase attack strength.

-Playing Chaka-Chaka-Pata-Pon will temporarily reduce knockback against Taterazay.

-Playing Don-Don-Chaka-Chaka will temporarily increase jump height.

Level 1

Fear Spear- Ton becomes Yarida and jumps into the air, throwing a barrage of glowing green spears that arc downwards. Anyone hit by the spear barrage is KO'd.

Level 2

Meteor Arrow- Kan becomes Yumiyacha and fires a barrage of blue arrows into the air. When they descend they are like meteors and have a cover a massive area, KOing all in their landing zone.

Level 3

Super Yamagami's Sutra- The Pataons summon Super Yamagami's Sutra which takes the form of a volcano at the back of the stage. It spews giant meteors which crash onto the stage and set fire to it. Anyone caught in the flames or by the meteors will be KO'd.

Author's Note

Still waiting for Patapon 4 or Patapon 3 remastered. I was only introduced to this franchise through the original PSAS and boy am I glad of that. When I did the original fic I hadn't played any Patapon games and tbf the chapter I did reflected that. This time I'm a little more well versed so went for the standard melee form of the Uberhero from Patapon 3. While he doesn't use any other weapons save for a sword and shield in the game, the other melee uberheros do so I took some liberties. It meant I was able to use the other uberheros as costumes.

As for the Patapons themselves, it isn't clear what size they are supposed to be, some people imagine them as being small because their cute designs and the fact that they mostly fight against much larger enemies indicates they might be but there's also a camp that believes that the Patapons are a stand-in for humans in a story about Shintoism so they'd be like humans. I've compromised and made them about 4ft tall, Taterazay being slightly taller, maybe 4'6".
