AN: This was inspired by a comment on one of the other Addams/Torchwood stories and it wouldn't leave me alone. So thanks to Brose1001 for the inspiration.

Ianto Tharmus Addams Jones had always maintained that he knew everything, but today's show was something that he wasn't quite sure of how it had happened. He had a feeling that it was all his sister's fault, he couldn't prove it of course, but it seemed like she had been the one to get him into this situation. He had agreed to look after the children for the afternoon while Rhiannon spent some time with Wednesday and Aunts Morticia and Margaret met with Grandmamma and Owen about some of the wedding preparations, but how that had come to the spectacle in the grounds that evening he couldn't say exactly.

He supposed if he was being completely honest, with himself at least, he could say that he knew exactly how everything had happened, but that would mean admitting to several weaknesses of his. Micah Lucretia was a little witch, his niece had him completely ensnared under his spell, she had her father's oafish innocence down to a tee, but she had an Addams streak a mile wide. Things had started out well, they had been at the manor and they had been working on their chosen weapons when Micah had gotten bored. A recipe for disaster with any Addams was boredom, but throw in a whole manor full of mystery and you ended up with mayhem.

Ianto had agreed to looking through the attic, after all there was a tonne of family history up there that the children should get a chance to experience, and if he was right there were a few things up there that he had hidden away that could work as an incentive for Gwen to do as she was told. Miniature bear traps no matter how small would certainly inspire a sane person not to encounter them again, then again he wasn't actually sure Gwen would understand what she was being punished for.

The children had been rummaging through the attic, pulling out various pieces of family history that Ianto then told them all about, things had been going well. Ianto enjoyed the chance to share stories of their family and the children were having fun. He should have noticed that they were getting a bit restless though as he told them the tale of their many times Great Uncle Maelgwyn, a ringmaster with one of the circuses that had travelled throughout Wales.

Ianto could have argued that he was forced into the situation, all four children did wield blades after all, but in reality it had just taken one look from Micah as she asked him and he had folded. It was for that reason that he was dressed in one of Maelgwyn's coats and wearing his top hat. He did look rather dashing, red was after all his colour, the clothing working perfectly with his shirt and waistcoat. The bullwhip was something that he had been less sure of toting about with him, mainly because of the ideas his lover would get if he arrived before Ianto was able to change, but his niece had insisted he needed it.

The children had all chosen various articles of clothing from some of their ancestors and different objects or weapons from the attic or armoury to lend credence to the roles that they had chosen for themselves. Micah had then led them outside into the grounds of the manor to where she knew Kitty Cat was resting in the grass enjoying the rare break in the rain. Ianto wasn't very surprised to find Myfanwy curled up next to her in the grass, the tracker on their pet pterodactyl had indicated that the manor had become a frequent haunt for her and Ianto was glad that she had made a friend in Kitty Cat.

The children then set about setting up their circus and preparing and practicing the acts that they wanted to perform for their parents. Ianto supposed that he had such an easy role in all of it, at least they weren't using him for target practice, all he had to do was announce each of their acts. They had been outside practicing for a while when Micah asked him when he and Myfanwy were going to start practicing, he should have known better to think that he would get away with a simple announcement of their acts, that wasn't the way that their family worked, but he had been hoping.

Myfanwy to his surprise looked interested in what Micah insisted they do and Ianto wasn't surprised in the slightest that Micah had managed to charm his prehistoric pet and bend her to her will. His niece could charm blood from a stone if she wished, the fact that she had made a friend of Death said it all really. Ianto acquiesced to her demands and began working with Myfanwy to figure out the logistics of their act, while they children who believed they had practiced enough ran in and out of the manor gathering and arranging seating for their audience.

Grandmamma was the first to return that day, making her way straight to the kitchen to start dinner for the family when they all returned. As the family returned home they were all informed of the show that would take place before dinner and asked to congregate out in the grounds. Ianto and the little circus acts watched from the side of the manor as their family took their seats and Ianto groaned a bit when he saw his lover take a seat with them, Jack was never going to let him live this down, and would no doubt want to make use of his outfit later that evening.

David started the music and they each nodded at each other, it was time to get this show on the road. Ianto would deny it to many, but he couldn't lie to himself, he was actually enjoying spending the time fooling about and playing with the children, it was a sharp contrast to his daily tasks and he was actually looking forward to seeing Jack's face with their opening act. Pugsley and David started to tumble and roll their way into the small arena that they had set up and Micah and What rode in on Kitty Cat's back, their lion was not going to be left out of all the tomfoolery.

Once they all came to a stop they moved into a half circle facing their audience, Kitty Cat in the centre with What and Micah on either side of him and the boys on the end. Knowing that his time had come Ianto looked at Myfanwy staring her in the eyes for a second and checking that she was still ok with the madness they were involved with. She nodded at him before he turned his back on her and she reached out and picked him up by the back of the coat he was wearing.

Practicing flying with her that afternoon had prepared him for the action and he looked calm and collected as they flew towards the gathered family members. As she set him down on the grass he cracked the bullwhip before calling out, "Welcome, welcome to the Addams Family Circus."

He chanced a quick look at his lover who seemed to be staring in shock, he had flown with Myfanwy before near the beginning of their acquaintance, but not in such an elegant way. Ianto knew that Jack would definitely be asking their resident pterodactyl for a short flight, he had looked much more majestic than Jack had, although he wouldn't be surprised if his lover asked her to drop him in the exact same position as she had the last time, and Ianto wouldn't really complain if she did.

"Tonight we have a short show for you. First up we have the Mystifying Micah Lucretia." Ianto spoke to the audience, bowed once, cracked the bullwhip once more and Myfanwy picked him up in her maw once more and flew him out of his niece's way, the other children moved already. Micah then pulled out her daggers and started her juggling act, moving around the small space as she did so, never missing a blade and balancing them artfully. She caught them all in one hand and then tossed the all much higher than she had done before in one throw before leaping up onto Kitty Cat's back and restarting her juggling act as the blades came back down towards her catching them and then resuming her previous act. When she caught her blades at the end of her act she then bowed and cartwheeled right of the back of the family lion, took a bow, Kitty Cat copying her behind her his purple tail waving about in the air.

The family were suitably impressed and the applause showed as much Micah then skipped happily off to the side taking a seat on the ground to watch her brother and cousins acts. Kitty Cat sat down where he was, knowing that he was up next again, and watched as Myfanwy dropped Ianto back onto his feet next to him. "Magnificent wasn't she?" Ianto called, "Up next we have What's Going On?" Ianto chuckled at the name What had wanted for his act, if the act was seen by anyone outside of their family they probably would have been so confused that they would have been saying exactly that.

What took his place opposite Kitty Cat and then they began what looked to be the strangest acrobatic performance many had ever seen. Hair and fur appeared to be flying in every direction as they made shapes out of their bodies in perfect synchronisation. They then launched into some paired acrobatics, and the sight of What balancing upside down on Kitty Cat was not one that Ianto would forget any time soon, nor was Kitty Cat balancing on What. Kitty Cat really was a team player, the lion did seem to end up in all sorts of odd situations because of the children in the family, but he seemed to relish being involved and almost jumped into each new situation with glee.

Once What and Kitty Cat finished their performance and had accepted their applause Micah and What quickly started setting up the stage for David and Pugsleys' act while Ianto introduced them. "Dastardly David and Pesky Pugsley take the stage now to delight us with some daring acts of swordsmanship." He then quickly tested the knots on the sets of ropes Micah and What had tied at two heights between two trees, Myfanwy walking along the ropes screeching in happiness as she did so, while David and Pugsley waited patiently to be able to begin their act. At Ianto's nod Myfanwy gave one last screech before jumping off the ropes and flying down to sit at Jack's feet.

David and Pugsley immediately scaled a tree each before selecting a tightrope, Pugsley taking the upper rope, David the lower and turned to face their audience. They bowed to the audience before turning and bowing to each other and then began a swordfight reminiscent of a choreographed dance. Their moves were precise and clean and they danced forward and backwards along their ropes, it may have looked strange them fighting vertically as they were, but it worked, the heights of the rope weren't massively different, so Pugsley was only really a few inches up the tree. If anything it was harder for David to stand upright properly around the slightly higher rope, but they managed, however odd it looked.

Uncle Gomez was nearly bouncing in his seat at their display and Ianto could imagine his uncle thinking up new ideas to incorporate into the children's lessons as a result of their showing. They allowed their swords to clash together one more time before bowing to each other once more and leaping off the ropes, thrusting their swords down into the ground and using them to show off some incredible balancing skills. They dismounted their swords and bowed to the assembled family members, grinning through their applause and motioned for the others to join them.

Micah and What bounded up to join them quickly, Kitty Cat and Myfanwy joining them at a more leisurely pace. Ianto came forward once more, "And that concludes the first showing of the Addams Family Circus. Tonight's acts will answer any questions you have for them inside where it is warmer, so if you could all make your way to the dinner table I am sure that whatever meal Grandmamma has prepared for us should be almost ready by now."

The children started grabbing the chairs to take back inside with them and the adults followed suit while Ianto began to untie the ropes from the trees. Jack had waited behind with him and Ianto grinned as he found himself pressed up against a tree once he had removed the last rope, Jack was so predictable. Ianto allowed his lover to steal a kiss and listened to the promises of what Jack intended to do to him before pushing himself away from the tree.

Ianto finished coiling up the rope in his hands before reaching down to pick up the whip that he had placed by the base of the tree to leave his hands free to untie the knots. He cracked the whip once it was in his hands, drawing Jack's attention immediately, his lover's eyes wide with lust. Ianto grabbed his hand and led him back into the manor, "Come on, we better go, dinner will be ready soon. We can sneak off after, but there is no way we can miss the meal." Smirking at the groan Jack let out at that Ianto supposed that his day could have been a lot worse, he'd had a fun time with the kids and he was sure to have even more fun with Jack when they got home that evening.
