" We have to find a way to defeat them before they defeat us," Dolores stated.
" What if there isn't a way to defeat them?" Mariano asked.
" There's always a way," Dolores answered.
" How do we find it?" Pepa inquired.
" I think I know someone who can help us," Senora Guzman declared. " Follow me," she commanded.
Mirabel was blasting buildings apart. It was just to scare the pathetic humans. And it worked. They were running and screaming like a bunch of wimps. Then, she spotted Dolores, Mariano, Pepa, and Senora Guzman. They were going somewhere. That was suspicious. They were probably trying to find a way to defeat her and Darkside. Hm… Mirabel couldn't allow that. She would make it as difficult for them as possible. Maybe if she's lucky they'll give up. She would have to tell Bruno first. So, she flew back to Casita.
Darkside was telling his prisoners about his and Darkness's history together. Poor Antonio wouldn't stop trembling. Camilo clearly was unenthused. Julieta just kept scowling and snarling at Darkside.
" Darkside!" Mirabel called.
" Yes?"
" Dolores, her family, and the Guzmans are trying to figure out how to beat us. I am going after them. You'll stay behind and make sure no one is misbehaving," Mirabel explained.
" Okey dokey," Bruno replied.
He saluted. Mirabel nodded. She booped Antonio on the nose, ruffled Camilo's hair, and blew Julieta a kiss before flying off. Bruno smirked. Time to have some fun.
The crew arrived at a cottage in the woods. They followed Senora inside. An old lady was sprinkling stuff in a coffin. She looked up and smiled.
" Oh, Marianne! How great to see you!"
" You too, Elena," Senora Guzman replied.
They hugged. Dolores looked to Mariano, who shrugged. He clearly did not know this woman.
" Okay, everybody, this is my best friend, Elena. Elena, this is my son, Mariano. These are the Madrigals. That one's Dolores. That is Pepa, the mother of Dolores. Isabela is in a coma. Luisa is guarding her. Felix, Alma, and Augustin are… dead. Antonio, Camilo, and Julieta are being held captive. Bruno disguised himself as Alma's son who could see the future. His name is actually Darkside. Then, Darkness took over Julieta's youngest daughter, Mirabel, before she was even born," Marianne explained.
" Good to know. I guess Alma's past caught up to her," Elena said.
" How do you two know each other?" Dolores questioned.
" I'm the one who created the magic spell that nearly killed Darkness," Elena answered.
" Does that mean you can-" Dolores started.
" I have been doing research for a few years now. I have found a potion that can defeat Darkness for good. I don't have all the ingredients, though," Elena told her.
" That will take care of Darkness. What about Darkside?"
" Who?"
" Darkness's partner in crime."
" Oh, dear. I didn't know there were two of them," Elena exclaimed.
" So, we can only defeat one of them. That doesn't save our kingdom. What are we going to do about Darkside? Are we all DOOMED?" Dolores panicked.
" Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Calm down! I didn't say that. If the potion will work on Darkness, maybe it'll work on Darkside too. I'll have to do some more research."
" We don't have a few years, though!" Dolores shouted.
" Calm down, Dolores," Mariano cooed.
" Yes, it won't take long to find out whether the potion will work on both of them or not," Elena added. " Especially, since I have a magic spell that will give me the book that has the answers."
She began to chant in gibberish. A book floated to her. She slipped through all the pages using another magic spell.
" Yes, yes! It will indeed work on both of them!" she announced.
" Yes!" Everyone cheered.
" What about Isabela?"
" Pardon?" Elena asked.
" Isabela is in a coma due to a spell Darkness put on her. Is there a way we can help her?"
" Yes, once Darkness is gone, so will all her spells. Same with Darkside. Your sister will be fine as long as we make it in time," Elena told her.
" Well, let's waste no time. You give us the list of ingredients and we'll go fetch them," Marianne said.
" Nonsense, I'll go.. I can just teleport us to where we need to be," Elena replied.
" Very well," Marianne agreed.
Little did they know, Mirabel was listening to their plan. Mirabel flew away just as Elena exited the cottage. Elena teleported away. Mirabel smirked. All she had to do was wait for her to come back.
…
Luisa never took her eyes off of Isabela. She was so scared. What if Isabela didn't make it out alive? She was barely breathing. There were times when she wasn't breathing at all. Her skin was getting more and more pale.
" Don't worry, sis. You'll be okay. You have to be okay," Luisa mumbled.
Tears spilled from her eyes. She cried silently. What can she do to help?
Bruno was scaring Antonio to death. He created a version of Felix. He made Felix say mean stuff about Antonio, who forgot he wasn't really his father. Suddenly, the Felix copy disappeared. Bruno gasped. Mirabel landed beside him.
" Oh, don't be mean to him. He's just a child!" she scolded.
" What are you doing back?" Bruno asked.
" We are going to sneak a surprise attack on Dolores and her crew. They found a potion that will defeat the both of us. We will grab the potion. They will fight for their lives to get it back. These three will have front row seats to the show! It will be the final battle! The final battle we'll win because they are all useless without their powers."
" What are we waiting for? Let's go!"
Elena was back with the ingredients. She got out a bunch of measuring cups. She began humming as she worked on the potion. Ten minutes later, she was done.
" Ta- da!"
" Great, now, let's-" Dolores started.
" Not so fast!"
" Huh!" Everyone gasped.
Mirabel snatched the potion from Elena.
" Hey, give that back!"
" Nope. You have to fight for it. If you win the final battle, you can have the potion. If we win, you all are dead. We even brought an audience!"
Julieta, Camilo, and Antonio appeared in the air. The crew gasped. Dolores scowled at Mirabel.
" Well… do we have a deal?" Mirabel asked.
" Fine, but you better not break it," Dolores accepted.
" Deal. Let's begin!"
To be continued.
