Robby woke up on the floor of the dojo, his head pounding loudly. He blinked a couple times and then closed his eyes for a moment; the room was spinning. It was dark, but he was able to see with the light shining in from the streetlights outside. He touched his head and felt something wet. He looked at his hand and noticed blood.
"Shit…" Robby forced himself off the floor, holding his side as he walked over to the small mirror on the wall. I really do look like shit. His face was covered with bruises, his right eye was black and blue, his lip was split, and he had a large gash on his forehead. The blood on his lip was dry but the gash on his forehead was still wet. Robby knew he must not have been out very long. "I guess training is over for today,"
Robby went over to the wall, pulling down the first aid kit, groaning as it felt like his ribs and hands were on fire. As he put the kit down to open it, he noticed the cuts and the dried blood on his knuckles. He opened the kit and found it was empty aside from a few small Band-Aids.
"You've got to be fucking kidding…" Robby sighed, starting to feel lightheaded and held himself up, leaning on the desk. Robby waited a moment and took a few deep breaths until he could stand up on his feet. Just barely, but it was enough.
Robby grabbed onto the walls to support himself as he headed for the door. He left the Cobra Kai dojo building and then walked over to the mini mart. He figured they would have supplies. He just needed some decent bandages. He stumbled in and went into the back, keeping his head down as he looked over for what medical supplies they would have. He grabbed a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and then some bandages. He then headed out of the aisle and towards the counter. Robby was trying to move as quickly as he could. He wasn't sure how much longer he would be able to stay on his feet.
"Robby?"
He stopped in his tracks, turning his head slightly to his left and seeing Daniel.
"Robby," Daniel took a step closer and then another once Robby took a step back. "Are you okay?"
Robby blinked as his head started to pound even louder and he started seeing stars around the room as the dizziness returned, this time more intense. Next thing he knew, is everything went black.
Daniel quickly moved and caught Robby in his arms. He adjusted, throwing one of Robby's arms around his neck and then moving towards the counter.
"Should I call an ambulance?"
"No," Daniel shook his head. "I got him," He was only five minutes away and the last thing he wanted was for Robby to end up in the hospital.
"Are you sure?"
"He's going to be okay," Daniel knew he was still breathing. He would make sure of that.
Robby woke up and his head was still pounding. He opened his eyes and looked around as far as he could see with only moving his eyes. Where the hell am I? He felt confused and tried to sit up, only to be stopped by a hand to his chest, keeping him down.
"Hey," Daniel said. "Don't try and sit up,"
"Mr. LaRusso?" Robby blinked and rubbed his eyes, almost thinking he was hallucinating. "What the hell—"
"Relax," Daniel said, noting Robby's confusion. "We're at Miyagi-Do,"
"What—"
"You remember that place, don't you?"
"Of course, I do," Robby replied. He wasn't that out of it. "How did I get here?"
"You don't remember?"
Robby shook his head. He remembered seeing Daniel, but then after that, it was all a blur. It must not have been much.
"You collapsed in the mini mart," Daniel told him. "I brought you here." He grabbed a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and put some onto a piece of cotton. He grabbed Robby's hands and started dabbing his knuckles. After he finished cleaning them, he took the bandage and started wrapping.
"Why are you helping me?" Robby didn't get why he was helping him. After everything that's happened, why didn't he just leave him?
"You really have to ask?"
"You could have left me there," Robby pointed out, choosing not to respond to his question.
"If you think I would do that…" Daniel shook his head. "They really corrupted you, didn't they?"
Robby sighed, closing his eyes tightly. It's what I deserve.
"Pretty big gash," Daniel pointed out, taking a look at the injury on Robby's head.
"I'll live," Robby replied. What he got tonight; this was nothing compared to what Silver's done to him on other days. And what Silver does, doesn't even come close to what happened in juvie.
"What happened?" Daniel asked he started cleaning Robby's cut. "Do you remember?"
"Yeah, I remember," That wasn't something he could forget.
Silver had made training Robby his special project and it had been going non-stop. He had to be ready for the tournament and there was so much that he hadn't drilled into him yet. If you want to be a champion, you need me. Each day that they trained, it got more intense. Usually, Robby could take it; apparently just not tonight.
"Well, luckily, you won't need any stitches," Daniel put a bandage over the gash.
Robby attempted to sit up but groaned in agony. Daniel put a hand gently on his shoulder and pushed him back down again. "Don't get up,"
"I can't…"
"Robby, you're hurt,"
"Why do you care?!" Robby snapped. "After everything I've done, why are you helping me? I don't deserve it." Robby's voice broke at the last sentence, and he turned away slightly, unable to meet Daniel's eyes.
"Robby," Daniel sighed. "Look at me," Robby wouldn't turn his head, so Daniel took it upon himself and moved so Robby could see him. "Do you remember when I told you that I joined Cobra Kai?"
"Yeah?"
"Terry Silver has a way of convincing you, he knows the best way for you to train. He convinces you that he has your best interests in mind; that he can make you a champion." Daniel explained, that last one got Robby to actually look at Daniel. "I remember what that was like all too well." Daniel had been where Robby was before. He often tried not to remember, but in a way, it was a good thing he did; it was a big reminder. "But what he's doing, it doesn't matter what mistakes you've made, you don't deserve this."
Robby shuddered and a few tears fell. "I'm so sorry…"
"Oh Robby," Daniel put his hand on Robby's head. "Don't apologize," He wasn't the only one to blame. "I'm the one who should be apologizing."
"For what?"
"I just wanted to help you get a shorter sentence. But the way I handled it…" Daniel could see how that had been a mistake. Robby had been so scared. He should have talked to him and convinced him to turn himself in, not calling the police to come arrest him. "That was a big mistake on me." He regretted that, he regretted not trying to see him when he was in juvie, and not for trying again once he was out. "I never should have turned my back on you." Daniel knew how almost everyone in Robby's life had thrown in the towel. He shouldn't have given up when Robby pushed him away.
"It's okay…"
"It's not," Daniel shook his head. Maybe if he hadn't handled it the way he did, things would have turned out a lot differently. "But do you think you could forgive me?"
Robby nodded, as he forced himself to sit up, holding onto his side again. "Can you forgive me?" He asked. "For everything?"
Daniel nodded. "Mr. Miyagi taught me a lot about forgiveness,"
Robby chuckled slightly as a few more tears fell. "He was a smart man, wasn't he?"
"He was," Daniel nodded and then brought Robby into a hug.
"Careful…" Robby said after a minute. "My ribs…"
"Sorry," Daniel released him slowly and gently.
"Now what?" Robby wasn't sure what the next step would be.
"We'll figure it out," Daniel would do everything he could to help Robby, just like he had tried to do before. "Together." He would figure out how to help Robby get out from Cobra Kai and Silver. He wasn't ever going to let him down again.
A/N: Ever since the third season ended, I always had a feeling Silver would take Robby under his wing. And since Daniel went through hell in KK3, I figured, maybe he could use that to knock some sense into Robby. But anyways, I just miss Daniel and Robby, so here's a little snippet!
