Jake's point of View
"Guys are serious?" I growled at Brady, Collin and Seth. They were smoking a blunt together in the woods where the pack usually met up to jump cliffs. Behind me was the rest of my pack and Sam's. Quil had accidentally snitched when he smelled it on patrol and both packs went to investigate.
"Brady, Collin!" Sam's voice alpha commanded. Their heads hung low and they set the blunt down. I looked at Seth without having to alpha command. Seth stood up and started walking towards me.
"Come on guys. You're overacting." Collin pouted. Leah growled at him at the same time as Sam. I guess she was on the same page as Sam about her brother smoking a blunt.
"Guys relax." Embry laughed picking up the blunt. We all looked at him like he'd lost his mind. He had been out of control the past several weeks so I was shocked Sam had let it continue to this point.
"Embry stop." Sam warned sending a chill up Embry's spin. He bit back a growl.
"What, alpha you going to command me to not smoke a blunt? By the way whoever packed it good job." He smirked admiring the work. I bit back a laugh at his comment. Before I could comment he took a couple of hits.
"Enough." Sam spat stepping towards Embry. Embry stepped towards Sam unafraid and we all held our breaths. He handed it to Sam obediently but smirked.
"You guys are missing the important thing to be pissed about." He smirked walking past Sam.
"What are we missing?" Paul asked Embry approached Brady. Brady just looked nervously at Embry.
"Give it." Embry calmly said with his hand out. Leah walked over to see what was going on and Embry growled at her indicating she needed to back up.
"I don't know what you mean." Brady huffed defiantly. Embry stepped closer to him towering him with his hand out. But if looks could kill Brady would have died. Slowly Brady reached into his pocket and had his fist closed over something. He put it in Embry's hand and Embry's hand moved so fast none of us could see it. He stuffed whatever it was into his pocket and began to walk away.
"What the fuck was that Em?" I growled at him which made him stop dead in his tracks. He couldn't avoid me with the command even if I wasn't his alpha yet.
"Something of mine." He spat back. I was shocked he spat back like that and apparently everyone else was too. Brady just looked scared knowing he stole something from Embry.
"Embry." Leah and Sam started to say at the same time making each other glare at the other.
"Embry." Paul approached him slowly. He put his arm on his shoulder.
"I can smell what that is." He sighed making eye contact with Embry. Embry nodded understanding they were on the same page.
"What is it?" I tried smelling what it was but the scent was unknown to me.
"The sent is unknown to you because you didn't grow up with it around." Paul answered my thought and everyone else's.
"How long has she been using this time?" Paul asked Embry. Embry faltered at his words knowing Paul had known what was going on while the rest of us were in the dark.
"Its been a couple of weeks now. She's got a new guy." Embry almost whimpered. Paul nodded holding out his hand for Embry to set whatever it was there.
"I took it from her but she keeps getting more. And I hid it in the forest where this little punk took it." Embry growled making Brady look like he was going to pee himself.
"Is that fucking cocaine?" Sam growled while everyone froze.
"Why? Want a line?" Embry bit back with his eyes black.
"Embry are you doing cocaine?" Leah's voice rang out. He glared at her worse than he glared at Sam.
"Not like it is your business but no. I just puffed on a blunt but I am not using this shit. I've been taking it from my mom trying to get rid of it so I threw it under a log and fucking dumb pup over there stole it. Paul and I can smell it because we grew up with parents who did it to stay up between the more serious benders. Don't fucking act like you care Clearwater and don't act like you know!" He yelled like actually yelled. Leah looked super hurt like super hurt and took a step away from him.
"You're right I don't care." She whispered before phasing and leaving. Seth phased after her and so did Collin.
"How bad has it been there?" Paul asked redirecting the conversation. Paul and Embry bonded with their pasts and their abuse. Paul was older and tried to look after Embry.
"Bad." Embry kicked the dirt and couldn't take his eyes off where Leah just stood. He knew he hurt her and I knew he wanted to go after her.
"You're staying at my place until it clears up." Paul said clapping Embry's shoulder. Embry nodded thanking Paul and Rachel.
"It never clears up." He muttered turning away and pouring out the bag.
