Finding Our Future ch13

"Haley, you okay in there?" Nathan asked softly while standing outside the bathroom door listening to her still retching.

"Yeah," she mumbled softly after throwing up for the third time.

"I'm coming in," he spoke opening the door to the bathroom.

"No!' She whisper shouted as she could feel herself about to throw up again for the fourth time.

Nathan walked into the bathroom and saw Haley literally hugging the toilet. "God she's even hot throwing up", he thought to himself.

"Are you okay?" Nathan asked after he saw Haley sitting up, totally exhausted.

"No! I think I have food poisoning," she spoke wiping her mouth with the towel she found over the side of the bath.

"The next time I see Grant, he's a dead man for making you sick", Nathan spoke feeling overprotective of her

"Nathan, it wasn't his fault," Haley spoke looking up at him hardly able to lift her head.

"Maybe not, but he took you to the restaurant and I need someone to blame. I hate seeing you so sick", he spoke softly to her as he gently sat down beside her.

"Thanks, I'm feeling a bit better now. I think it's time I head home. I have already made a big enough fool out of myself for one night", she spoke turning to push herself up to her feet with no such luck

"Look Haley, I know we have a lot of things to still sort out between us, but I would really prefer if you stayed here tonight", he commented to her

"Nathan I don't think that's a good idea," she replied while trying to stop herself from fainting on him.

"Haley you can't be alone tonight. You're too unwell. I couldn't live with myself letting you go home being so sick," he spoke explaining his actions, while pulling her into a side hug.
"Fine, I'll stay if that will make you happy", she replied smiling over at him

"Good, now you take a shower if you have enough energy left, and I will go and find you some spare clothes", he spoke helping her to her feet

"Thanks Nathan," Haley replied softly as she watched him turn on the shower for her.

"You're welcome," he spoke smiling back at her before leaving the bathroom.

While Haley was in the shower; Nathan changed the bed sheets and found her something comfortable to wear.

"You can do this Haley; you're only staying the night. It's not like anything is going to happen since you both will be sleeping. He knows how you feel now and you can talk about it more tomorrow, when you're feeling better", she replayed the thoughts rolling around in her head.

Once he had finished making the bed, Nathan found her a spare t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants to wear.

"Haley, are you finished?" He asked after he heard her turning off the water.

"Yeah," she replied sounding more like her normal self from earlier.

"I'm just going to leave these clothes at the door for you to change into. I'll be waiting in the living room when you're ready," he explained setting down the clothes and walking away.

Once Haley could hear the tv, she knew the coast was clear to open the door. She quickly grabbed the clothes and changed.

"Hi," she spoke making her presence known over the sound of the tv.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" He asked concerned for how sick she had been just a few minutes ago.

"Slightly better than I was. I don't think there is anything left in me to throw up," she spoke sitting down on the other end of the couch.

"Here, I got you some water and something to help settle your stomach", he spoke handing her the bottle of water and meds.

"Thank you," she spoke accepting the water and meds, hoping they would help in some way.

"Well it's getting late and you look exhausted Hales. I think it's time you got some sleep," he commented to her.

"Well I'm happy to sleep on the sofa," she replied to him.

"Hales, after the night you've just had, if anyone is going to be sleeping on the sofa, it's me", he spoke leaning over and taking her hand in his

"Nathan I can't let you do that," she spoke softly looking back at him.

"Haley, its fine. I even put clean sheets on my bed while you were in the shower," he spoke finally leading her to his room.

"Nathan, we can at least share. I'm sure it's big enough for the both of us", she said pulling him over to the bed

"No, you're too unwell. If it makes you feel any better, I will sleep on the floor so if you start to get sick again, I'm here", he spoke, lifting the pillows and blanket from his side of the bed

"Fine, I'm too tired to argue," she spoke softly finally climbing into his bed.

"Sweet dreams Hales," he replied while getting his make shift bed ready.

"You too Nathan", she spoke before finally relaxing down into his comfortable bed
