Chapter One

WINDMILL VILLAGE

"When I get older I wanna marry Sabo!"

Ten-year old Sabo laughed slightly at the younger girl's remark. "Luffy! We can't get married. I'm your brother." Sabo sighed as he saw Luffy pout looking down while fiddling with the helms of her sundress. "Well.. WHY NOT?" She shouted back refusing Sabo's refusal. "Because I'm your older brother." He sighed, explaining this to the strawhat girl for the hundredth time.

Eight-year old Luffy had been in a weird phase where she ever so often asked Sabo to marry her sometime in the distant future. She started bringing marriage up to her brother after Makino came up to visit her weeks before. "Makino said that I have to marry a good person and Sabo is a good person!"

The request itself was harmless, Sabo confident in the fact that Luffy wasn't even fully sure of what "marriage" really was. And Sabo hadn't necessarily found her actions unpleasant, seeing that the two of them weren't blood related in any way, however he hadn't been quite fond of it either.

"We're not real brothers!" She snapped back, "Besides! You're nice to me unlike Ace! Shishishi" Luffy chuckled, then looking back at her other brother who clearly looked bothered. Ace shifted his eyes toward his little sister, his freckled face painted with irritation. "Like I'd want to marry a crybaby anyway!" Ace responded, causing the younger girl to start tearing up from frustration.

"I am not a crybaby! I'm s-strong!" she screeched, glassy tears clearly welling up in her eyes.

"Don't make me laugh you brat. You nearly die all the time and it causes trouble for all of us." She crossed her arms. "See! You're a bad brother Ace, all you are is mean to me! At least Sabo is nice to me."

Ace wasn't quite sure why Luffy comparing him to Sabo had frustrated him so much.

It was silly the ten year old had thought.

So what if Luffy preferred Sabo over him? It was weird anyway. Why would Ace even want to marry his own sister? Sure they weren't related by blood so technically they weren't- no. Ace shook his head mentally, there was no reason to think any further about this subject.

He was too young for marriage anyway.

He responded sticking out his tongue out viciously, pulling down his right under eyelid "Like I care." Ace's voice was soft at that moment, though his expression had been as hard as a rock. Ace then ignored the rest of what she was gonna say, storming off, while Luffy shuddered at his reaction.

She started to cry. Really loud this time. "Sabo! I made Ace really mad this time! Ace hates me for real this time!" Luffy wailed, making an ugly face as she used the end of her dress to blow her nose. The white sun dress of hers now turned into a bright yellow.

Sabo blinked his eyes twice, having to comprehend the sight he was witnessing at this moment. "Luffy, you know how Ace is. His temper is short, I'm sure he'll come back when he calms down. He can't stay mad at you forever." He replied trying to reassure her. "B-But he seemed really really mad!" She sniffled, pulling her straw hat over her eyes, "What if he doesn't wanna be my brother anymore!" she sobbed louder, "I don't want to ever stop being brothers with you or Ace." She hiccuped shaking from crying uncontrollably.

Sabo was more than familiar with how to handle Luffy in these situations. Ever since Luffy became his and Ace's little sister, she and Ace would argue two to three times a day (which almost always ended up in Ace exiting in anger and Luffy a crying mess). Their arguments ranged from petty comments to Luffy getting herself in danger due to recklessly taking on foes beyond her strength. And Sabo was always the one to fix everything.

"Luffy! You know crying will make Ace even madder than he already is. Ace hates crybabies." As soon as he had finished his sentence, Luffy stopped crying instantly.

Sabo sighed wanting to laugh at how ridiculous his younger sister was. "And Luffy, you should really stop saying things like that to Ace. He's a good older brother to you and you know that." Sabo retorted softly with a grin. She nodded her face plastered with guilt.

Luffy was well aware that Ace was a good brother. In fact, he was everything she could ever wish for in a sibling. Ace worried for her, especially during times where she acted recklessly, like the times she challenged random beasts in the jungle... which usually resulted in her getting nearly killed.. Maybe a couple of thousand times? And yet Ace was always there to save her
(Along with Sabo of course.)

She remembered clearly, many months before when her grandfather left her with Dadan. Luffy recalled feeling lonely then, wondering why she, an 8 year old girl was left alone all by herself. She knew she didn't wanna be alone which drove her to follow Ace around, who initially wanted absolutely nothing to do with her.

Despite knowing how he felt, Luffy was persistent. She constantly, with her best efforts pursued a friendship with him. And later, after following Ace nonstop, he finally opened up to her. Ace was her first true friend, so it would absolutely kill her if he were to hate her forever.

Sabo ruffled her short black hair through her thick straw hat.

"C'mon Luffy! Let's go eat dinner and you can make up with Ace there." Grabbing her hand gently, the two walked together to Dadan's cabin.

"YAY MEAT!" She beamed, excited to eat food.

The troublesome trio sat together to eat, as Luffy and Ace eyed each other awkwardly.

Sabo knew that Ace couldn't stay mad at Luffy for long. He knew that Ace was actually soft at heart, hating the awkward tension he had with his younger sister everytime they argued.

Normally after these blowouts, Ace would do small gestures to notify Luffy that he wasn't mad anymore, whether it would be to offer her a piece of his meat or invite her to go on an adventure as if nothing happened.

In today's case he shoved toward her a piece of his meat, where she responded with wide eyes and comedic uncontrollable crying. "Ace! I'm sorry I called you a bad brother! You're the best brother ever!" She sniffled and continued rambling "and you're not mad! I was worried you wouldn't wanna be my brother anymore!"

He furrowed his eyebrows together hitting the back of her head with his fist. "Why would I ever wanna stop being your brother! And stop crying again! You're such a baby!" "OUCH! WHAT THE HELL! You bastard! Why'd you hit me!" she shrieked, holding her head in pain.

Sabo couldn't help but laugh at the sight of his siblings. He realized that with his troublesome siblings was where he was the happiest. The other two quickly joined in on Sabo's relentless laughter, as the trio happily ate their supper together.

Luffy danced around happily, overjoyed that Ace had forgiven her for the.. Hundredth time? Thousandth time? ...Let's just say that Ace has forgiven the girl many many times.

"Shishishi! ACE ISN'T MAD ANYMORE!" She danced around Dadan's house a couple more times before Ace and Sabo had come out so the three of them could walk to their hideout together. A very happy Luffy ran toward them giving the two a big stretchy hug.

They could only shrug slightly, followed by two happy grins. Releasing her brothers from her rubbery grasp, Luffy walked alongside her brothers as the three of them headed to their base to sleep for the night.

"Brothers! Brothers! Brothers!" Luffy chanted repeatedly, "We are brothers!"

"Exactly Luffy! We are brothers and that's why I can't marry you." Sabo commented.

"EHHHH? Not fair!" Luffy announced her pouty face.

Sabo and Ace could both admit that Luffy's pouty face was, in fact, very cute.

She stomped her feet. "BUT WHY!"

"What moron would wanna marry a girl like you?" retorted Ace, which caused Sabo to push him lightly.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY YOU JERK?"

"Luffy do you even know what marriage is?" questioned Ace as he turned to face his clueless sister.

"Well... Makino just told me to marry someone that makes me happy!" she looked down to the floor fiddling with her fingers, "Ace makes me happy but Ace doesn't wanna marry me so I should marry Sabo!" Ace just sighed.

"Hey who said I didn't want to marry you?" He blushed, flustered realizing what he had just blurted out. "EH? Ace, you wanna get married!" She retorted in confusion, a wide grin appearing on her face. "NO I just mean't-" "Wow! Look at the sky!" Sabo interrupted, as the gang looked up at the thousand dazzling stars.

The heavens were painted in an ebony-like color, while the small but flashy stars danced around the glistening moon. The air had been crisp, the sound of night quiet. The three children were mesmerized by the incredible sight above them.

Luffy's mouth was agape, she had always seen stars in the sky on nights like this, but for some reason this time it had been different. She was enticed, amazed as she hadn't seen so many stars out for the eight years she had been living. She quickly grabbed the hands of her brothers.

The two boys blushed at her action, taken aback from her small gesture.

"Because we're brothers, let's make a promise!" Luffy exclaimed cheerfully.

"Promise me that you guys will never leave me."

And what could make her happier than to share this moment with her two brothers whom she loved very much. It was nights like this that Luffy wished for the three of them to stay forever.

Her wish however crumbled shortly.

"A-A-Ace. S-S-Sabo's d-dd-ead."

Luffy's words were fragmented due to her inability to talk due to how painful it was for her to speak those words. She broke down in tears, in front of her brother who had quickly grabbed her by the shoulders making sure she wouldn't collapse.

"Ace! It c-can't be true! Sabo can't die! I don't believe it!"

Sabo, the glue that once held the brothers together, had now left them.

Ace's throat was dry. He wanted to cry as much as Luffy had right in this moment. He wanted to curse the world for taking his one and only brother away from him. No- he still had Luffy, though she was his younger sister- but it didn't matter. Despite the thoughts that constantly jumbled his mind, he knew what he needed to do.

Ace was quick to comfort his younger sister, knowing that he now had to step up and learn to fill the void that Sabo had left behind. "It's going to be okay" he held her tighter. "We're going to be okay Luffy." She continued to wail in his arms as Ace cried silently with her.

Luffy was sad but she believed Ace. She knew somehow that the two of them would get through this.

That they were going to be just fine.

"A-ace please don't die too" she cried, muffled in his arms, crying in his shirt.

"Idiot, I'll never die" he whispered back to her.

Hi! I haven't written any serious fanfiction since my freshman year of highschool. (I'm currently a junior heehee) ..so 2 years O_O I don't know what exactly drove me to write again, but I remember being my happiest when I was an active fanfiction writer in middle school.

I'm rewatching One Piece these days because it's my comfort show. After watching marineford again I had like a three day depression and I didn't eat O_O BAHAHA ~~please don't worry i am eating again!

Anyways if you hadn't noticed, I made Luffy a female in this fanfic. It's just easier for me to write romantic plots this way but also I love female Luffy stories they're really cute _ and I haven't seen that many of them, especially these days? Ace having a sister complex is like the cutest thing ever but its not incest RARARARA :(

Anyways, yes this is a harem fic? I'll be adding Zoro and Traffy to the mix :) and maybe Kid :OOOOO and Sanji of course for some comedic relief.

I'm also deciding on whether or not I wanna keep Ace alive,, just because he's my favorite character and it would bring me some peace. However then I would have to figure out how to add in the timeskip and rewrite some of the story AAAAA

Anyways, if you're even reading this? Please send some love and feedback! I would appreciate it a lot. I will be publishing this on Ao3 too.

The next chapter will probably include Ace and Luffy growing up together all the way up to

Luffy setting off to sea so please look forward to that :D

Anyways this author's note is far too long already so I will just end this here.

Thanks for reading!
