Chapter Two

Ever since Sabo passed away, Ace was changing drastically. And Luffy noticed it right away. It was only weeks after Sabo's death, when he abruptly asked Makino for a lesson on manners. Who knew Ace cared about manners?

Makino was very open to the idea, coming up from the village every Saturday to teach Ace proper etiquette, while bringing up new clothes for Luffy.

"Makino! I don't want to wear dresses anymore!" Luffy complained with a pout, grabbing the straps of the bright yellow dress Makino had brought up for her.

"Eh? Why Luffy? You'll look so pretty."

"Mmm dresses make it hard to run! Bad for adventures!" She retorted as she stretched her arm to hand back the dress to her. "I wanna wear shorts like Ace! Then I'll be able to fight comfortably!" She cheered, throwing air punches- Then proceeding to trip on her toes, face now kissing the floor.

"OUCH" she screamed, spitting out the dirt and rock particles that had entered her mouth.

Makino giggled at Luffy's cute actions, while opening up her bag to put back the dress. While the bag was open she suddenly widened her eyes. "Oh! I almost forgot. Ace, I brought you clothes too!"

"Eh? For me?"

"Mhm" She grinned, handing him a brand new top she had sewn up herself. It was a tank top, tangerine colored, with big black kanji letters embroidered on the front.

He shrugged, taking off his current shirt, swapping it with the new one.

"WAH Makino I want a cool shirt like that too!" announced Luffy, her face still dirty from falling on the ground.

"Look how handsome you look!" praised Makino, cheerful to see that the clothing had fit him perfectly. Just then, Ace's freckled face was painted in a deep scarlet.

He was blushing? Then that was when Luffy had noticed the second change.

Her older brother was developing an interest in girls.

"ACE LIKES MAKINO!" She shrieked, not meaning to say it outloud.

Luffy gulped, knowing the type of storm that she had brewed within her older brother.

Ace's mouth had practically unhinged from his skull. Flustered, Ace hit Luffy on the back of her head. "SHUT UP YOU BRAT!" he screamed, grabbing Luffy by the shoulders while she had been nearly knocked out.

"Ihm shohwy!" she yelled in pain.

Makino giggled, finding amusement from watching the two siblings.

It was at age fourteen when Ace had come to a realization.

His brother Luffy, was biologically a girl.

Of course he had been aware of the fact that his brother was a sister. But ever since puberty started for both of them, Ace had become more self conscious of their relationship.

He had tried to ignore it initially, and it was easy at first. At first glance Luffy looked like a boy. She liked to keep her hair short, and she dressed in boyish clothes. Ace was content, knowing he wouldn't have weird intentions toward his sister.

That was until the incident.

The weather had been fairly normal as Ace had come back from adventuring in the town. He then approached the secret hideout they made as kids, calling out to Luffy.

"Luffy! I'm back!" He shouted while climbing up the ladder, but when reaching the top, his jaw dropped.

"S-Sorry!" He was quick to turn away from her, though nearly falling off the treehouse.

"Oh! Ace your back" she responded casually, oblivious to the awkward situation the two were in.

Ace had walked in on his sister changing. Thankfully she wasn't naked, though seeing her stripped down to her undergarments was a slap in the face from reality. It was time to realize that Ace could no longer ignore the fact that his brother was a girl.

"Luffy! Put on a shirt for fucks sake!" He yelled, blood rushing to his face from the short sight of his undressed sister.

"Eh? Why?" Luffy was confused on why he had been so dramatic. They used to bathe together, Ace had seen her naked many times. So she was confused as to why he was making such a deal about seeing her in her underwear.

"Just do it." He replied, his back still facing her.

She shrugged, still bewildered by her brother's reaction. She quickly pulled a clean shirt over head and put on a pair of shorts.

"You're being weird Ace." She pouted, her eyebrows knitted in confusion. She sat down on the hard wooden floor, resting her chin on hand, pondering as to why Ace had been so freaked out.

He sighed, finally facing her. He was happy to see that she was now fully clothed.

Ace was well aware now that he and Luffy needed boundaries.

"Luffy you can't be so casual when a man walks in on you changing!"

"You're not a man, silly! You're my brother! Shishishi!"

Ace winced. He wasn't quite sure why that line had bothered him so much. He mentally slapped himself- of course she would think of him in a brotherly way, and the feeling was mutual. So why did he feel so weird?

He groaned, knowing that she wouldn't understand, no matter how much he could explain to her.

"Luffy! You're a girl!"

"Eh? Are you an idiot? Of course I am!"

"Do you not understand what's wrong about this?"

"Nope!"

"Luffy! You can't casually change infront of me like that!"

"Eh? But why?"

"You just can't, okay!" Ace was practically shouting at this point. The air had been packed with tension. His facial expression had solidified, causing a shiver down Luffy's spine.

Luffy didn't quite understand but she got the message.

"Okay. Sheesh."

Ace wasn't sure what this throbbing pain in his chest had been, but he had hoped that it would go away with age.

But it didn't.

Luffy was fourteen now, and he himself just turned seventeen.

And he caught himself staring at her lips again.

Ace wasn't sure what exactly was wrong with him. No that's a lie- He was fully aware of what was going on- aware that his intentions toward his sister were not brotherly at all.

He secretly knew it from the start, no matter how hard he tried to deny it.

Randomly- although he hated to admit it, Ace would catch himself having weird urges to kiss Luffy. They'd be eating dinner together at Dadan's cabin and randomly out of nowhere his eyes would start to scan her face. His eyes would linger the most on her lips. He hated the way he stared- he hated himself for it. He felt like a freaking perv, and he did it way more often than he liked.

And today, she caught him.

"Ace? Why are you looking at me like that? Is there meat on my face?"

He winced, cringing at how dense Luffy was. He was in trouble now..

It didn't really help him that his dear brother all of a sudden sprouted breasts over the summer. Or the fact that Ace was seventeen- a raging hormonal teen. And Luffy's hips had gotten wider too. To his great displeasure, as the days went by, Luffy's feminine features had become incredibly prominent.

Ace was embarrassed- and ashamed. What was it about Luffy that he had been so drawn to?

He would try to distract himself, push down this feeling by flirting with the many noble girls in town, fooling around with as many of them as he could. But despite how pretty they were, Ace's mind would always go back to Luffy.

Luffy would get upset when Ace would bring girls over. Not because she was jealous, but because it was excessive. And he knew that.

"You brought back another one?"

Part of him begged it was out of jealousy, that she wished she was the one that was in his arms. He knew her feelings toward him had been genuinely platonic- and it was frustrating. He didn't give a damn about kissing a noble girl, he couldn't care less about kissing the most beautiful woman in the world. He just wanted to kiss her.

Ace was relieved though. He would leave for his voyage tomorrow, and desperately hoped that going out to sea would knock some sense into him.

"So you're really leaving tomorrow?" Luffy whispered, as she turned to face her brother.

"Yeah, I am."

The two had been sitting together on some grassy hill far from Dadan's cabin.

Luffy was lying to herself if she said that she was excited for Ace to set sail tomorrow. She gripped onto the grass under her aggressively, ripping out short green strands anxiously.

The night sky was especially beautiful that night, much like the day Luffy had made promises with Ace and Sabo.

She breathed in, her onyx eyes examining the dusk sky.

She didn't want Ace to leave. She didn't want to be left alone.

"You know Ace.." She paused as she looked up at him. Her eyes glistened, and he was left breathless.

Luffy took a good look at Ace's face. The light of the moon had accentuated his jawline, and his freckles complemented the stars in the sky. She looked down at the ground, biting her lip and back up at his face again. She moved her hand, gently placing it on top of his.

"I think I'll really miss you." She whispered, her voice cracking a bit.

Ace's heart was doing backflips. He was completely taken aback, as he didn't know if he was supposed to feel happy or upset. How disheartening it was, Luffy oblivious to the feelings Ace had bared for her.

His heart was pumping blood instantaneously. He couldn't hold himself back anymore. He couldn't ignore the undying urge he had to kiss her. He pulled her toward him by the wrist, grabbing her hand shortly after, intertwining their fingers together.

Their faces had been inches apart at this point. The two had been so close to the point where he could feel her heavy breathing tickle his freckled cheeks.

"A-Ace? What are you-" Before she could continue her thought, Ace leaned in and locked their lips together.

He kissed her softly, but she had been unresponsive at first. He hadn't been thinking straight at this point. He knew that kissing her could potentially ruin everything, the brother-sister relationship that she was always so fond of.

Luffy was left astonished, confused on why Ace had kissed her, but to her surprise she didn't hate it. Before he could apart from her, she clinged onto him instantaneously and deepened the kiss. She intensified it, much to his surprise, as the surging tide of warmth left them both needy for more.

His mouth had felt more rough this time, which left shivers down her spine. She had never known this type of feeling was possible, as she dug her nails into the back of his head, pulling on strands of his hair. He felt explosions go off in his stomach- every touch was electric, every movement was ecstatic. His vision had been blurred; he saw fireworks.

'Was this really happening?' he had thought to himself. He had waited for this moment for far too long. The longing to be able to kiss this girl had numbed his senses, but at the same time every inch of his body had been on fire.

The two then finally broke apart, shaking while gasping for air.

The air was tense, and it was silent for a while.

She finally broke the silence "I don't understand. What did we-"

"Do you hate me now?" He started cutting her off.

"I could never hate you. You know that."

"Did you hate it?" He turned to face her once more, his gaze deepening the more he studied her.

She didn't respond. He was so fucked.

She opened her mouth to respond. "No.. Actually the opposite. I liked it. A lot."

Hiii! I did not get up to where I wanted :(( I wanted to end the chapter with Ace sailing off to sea but It felt right to end the chapter here. Anyways here's chapter two! I hope you all enjoyed. I hadn't planned on finishing this chapter today but I had a lot of freedom after studying so I said fuck it and here it is :DD

This was my first time writing a kiss scene o_o, like an actual kissing scene. I've written fics where my characters just peck so let me know if i did it right.

I'm honestly still unsure if I want to keep Ace alive or not, so if you have an opinion on this let me know! Also let me know if you guys prefer longer chapters or if this length is good!

Also thank you so much for the support on my first chapter! I loved getting notifications during school that people were reading my work,, it made me really happy! And thank you to all the nice people who sent back feedback!

I plan on trying to update at least once a week, if I'm lucky maybe twice. Or if I end up having an insane amount of free time I just might write tons.

Lastly, just an FYI I'm actually not caught up to One Piece atm. I am in the middle of Dressrosa! I actually got multiple people asking me to add Katakuri to the harem which was surprising LOL i guess you all love Katakuri kek

I haven't met him yet, so I unfortunately cant add him right now, however I'm sure I'll be caught up by time I start writing about the future arcs so maybe I can include him then :D

Again, thanks so much for the support I really do appreciate it a lot. I go sleep now :D
