"Watering the plants! Watering the plants!" Marcy sang, dressed in her pj's as she watered a potted flytrap. She was in her room, located in a tower of the Newtopian Castle, and she was able to survey the whole town from her window.

The plant snarls and snaps at her, causing her to yelp. "Branson! No, bad boy!" She scolds, placing the watering can on the desk and looking out the window.

It was nightfall already, and the young girl was waiting for a certain gang to arrive.

Hearing a knock at the door, she squeals excitedly. "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh! They're here!" Rushing over to the door, she opens it to reveal Lady Olivia.

"Good evening, Master Marcy." She greets tiredly, already dreading the night ahead. "Anne Boonchuy, Jean Goodeman and the Plantars have arrived for your-"

"SLEEPOVER!" Five voices interrupt the lady newt, pushing her aside as they barge into the room. Jean, Anne and Sprig immediately jump onto the bed, giggling maniacally as they chanted "Sleepover! Sleepover!" Over and over again. Polly rips a pillow in two. The only one who seemed the calmest was Flossie, although "calm" was still an understatement, since she was reaching out to touch the plant Marcy had nicknamed "Branson", eyes sparkling with wonder and a wide grin on her face.

Lady Olivia sighs, waving the stray feathers from the torn pillow away from her face. "Sleepover. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the kitchen drinking….juice." with that, the lady newt leaves.

Anne hugs Marcy, squealing. "This is gonna be…"

"Awesome!"

Jean picks up Flossie, holding her like a cat as she drags her away from the plant before it could bite her fingers off. "A long night full of fun, games, and the chance to cut loose? Count me in, baby!" She cheers.

"It's the perfect way to spend the night before we hear from the king!" Sprig points out, which got everyone excited.

"I wonder what he learned about the music box." Anne ponders a loud, to which Marcy grins. "I don't want to give anything away, but it's gonna be pretty cool." She informs, as Hop Pop clears his throat from the doorway.

"Okay, kids, I'll be back in the morning for our meeting with the King. You enjoy yourselves. I'm off to spend a little much needed me time. And by me time, I mean a full body…"

Sprig and Polly hurriedly slam the door in his face. "Okay, bye, H.P!"

"Later, Hop Pop!" With that, the kids were finally alone. Polly cheers loudly. "Whoo-hoo! Me and Sprig's first sleepover!"

The pink frog nods in agreement. "Better make it a good one." His expression darkens as he stares intently at the girls, whispering. "These will be formative memories."

Jean chuckles at his antics, letting Flossie go. The axolotl immediately sits on the bed, as Anne speaks up again, realising something. "Whoa, I just realised, we've never done a sleepover without Sasha." She points out.

Marcy gasps, shaking her friends shoulders for exaggeration. "Oh my- you're right! You think we could pull it off? No offence Jean, but Sasha's the sleepover queen, not us." She exclaims. Team shrugs. "None taken. I have to agree with ya on that one."

There was always a reason they could never hold a sleepover at Jeans house, after all.

Anne scoffs at Marcy's statement. "Pfft! Who says there has to be one queen?"

"Everyone. That's sort of how the whole system works, Anne." Marcy replies bluntly. Anne shrugs her off, continuing.

"Marcy, us three have done tons of sleepovers. We know everything about them!" Grabbing onto Jeans hand, the trio grin wide as they begin to chant a familiar tune.

"Pajamas, junk food and gossip galore! Pillow fights, movies and tearing up the dance floor! And listen up 'cause this I won't repeat; never ever go to sleep!"

The girls giggle as the three confused amphibian children stare at them. Sprig glances at his sisters. "Sensing some missing context here."

Jean wipes the tears from her eyes. "Ah, sorry! Sasha had always said that falling asleep meant total failure. It's become a ritual for us." she explained. Marcy nods. "A true sleepover goes till sunrise!"

Anne jumps onto the bed, almost knocking Flossie off as she poses dramatically. "Enough setup! Let's get our sleepover on, baby!"

The axolotl grins widely, jumping up to join her. "LET'S DO THIS!" She yells dramatically. Jean smiles softly.

She's just happy that Flossie was feeling better after the…incident. The axolotl needed a fun night like this.

The six kids cheer wildly as they slide down the large stairs on a mattress. They pass by Lady Olivia, who glares at them, shaking her head.

Landing on the bottom, they crashed into a set of armour, all the while giggling.

Anne, Marcy, Sprig and Flossie pull on Andrias's over-sized socks, using them like potato sacks as they hop back and forth, racing each other down the halls.

Jean wipes her hands and looks up at her handiwork full of pride. A replica of the newt king, with Polly as the head. The two giggle, and the human notices Lady Olivia approaching. Snickering, she watches as Olivia clears her throat. "Excuse me, sire."

Polly turns to her, making her voice deeper to imitate the king. "Yes, peon?"

Realising she was tricked, the Lady newt goes red in the face with anger. From behind her, Jean giggles behind her hand. Olivia whips her head around to face her, but the 15yo was already running away, Polly right behind her heading in the opposite direction.

Lady Olivia leaned back in her chair with a tired sigh, a book open on her lap. The children were no where to be seen.

Thinking she was safe from the mischievous children, she let herself relax.

Mere seconds later, all children charged toward her, spraying her with the bug equivalent of Silly String. The lady newt snaps. "Oh, for frog's sake!"

Snatching the bugs from the children, she slaps them, before putting the bugs in a box. Turning to the kids lying on the floor, she crosses her arms. "While I'm glad you kids are having fun, let me remind you that some castle rooms are off-limits, namely the basement, which is…"

Anne interrupts her by spraying more Silly Bug Strong at her, giggling maniacally as the lady newt shrieks. "Montage is back on, baby!"

Marcy and Anne were hitting Sprig with pillows, the young pink frog yelping as he lay on the floor helpless. Polly stood to the side, laughing at her brothers misfortune.

"ATTACK!" Jean yells, jumping in and whacking Anne with a pillow. Flossie follows suit, hitting Marcy. The girls shriek, giggling and laughing as they turn to fight their attackers. This gives Sprig the chance to get up, grabbing a pillow as he joins in the pillow battle.

Marcy and Anne push a cart with a large cake, the axolotl cheering wildly as she sat on the front. The chef doing late night cooking glares at them as they retreat with the large cake.

Polly and Jean exit the kitchen area, each carrying cupcakes as they munch away. The polliwog burps loudly.

All the kids paint the portraits in the halls.

Flossie and Sprig were painting a large portrait together, while Jean and Marcy were painting another, standing on unstable ladders as they used rollers to paint.

All the kids lay on their seperate mattresses, all tuckered out from their sleepover.

Marcy was writing in her journal, asking Flossie questions. "So you learned about elemental bending through a book?" She asks curiously. Flossie nods excitedly. "Yep! And Jean helped me find out I had them! I've tried doing it myself, but it never worked out. So it's all thanks to Jean I have this!" She says, demonstrating by forming a bubble of water in her palm. Marcy scribbles it down, deep in thought. "Impressive…And how did you come across this book?"

Flossie shrugs. "My mum's always had it. Said it's been in the family for generations." She explains. Marcy nods in understanding as she writes that down too.

As they chat, Jean smiles softly. She was really happy Marcy and Flossie got along together. They were just two little nerds hanging out.

Sprig lets out a tired yawn. "Best sleepover ever…" he says sleepily. Polly mumbles in agreement. "Ditto."

Jean smirks, resting her hands behind her head. "I have to admit, you were right Anne. We ROCK pulling off this whole sleepover thing. Consider us the new sleepover queens!" The girls giggle, as Anne opens one lazy eye. "By the way, what time is it anyway? 5am? 6am?"

Marcy lifts her phone up to take a look. The brightness of the screen hurts her eyes for a brief moment, but the moment passes. Her eyes widen in shock at the time. "Uh, only 9 pm?!"

Anne sits up straight, just as shocked as her friend. "What?!"

Jean's own eyes widened, as she stares at Marcy's phone. Sure enough, the time read 9pm. "Holy cow…."

Sprig laughs tiredly. "That early?" He mumbles out. Polly groans, rubbing her eyes. "But I'm so tired." She adds.

Anne harshly grabs the two amphibians, shaking them. "No! Stay awake!" She shouts in an attempt to wake them up. They groan as Anne's attempts work.

"Anne, I think it's time." Marcy says darkly. Jean sits up. "Wait, you don't mean-" Marcy nods solemnly, and the older teen covers her mouth with one had with a dramatic gasp. Anne turns to them, knowing exactly what they were talking about. "Really? Are you sure they're ready?"

"Is anyone ever really ready, Anne?"

Now this sudden change in behaviour peeked the kids interest, as they watch their three human friends with curiosity. "Ready?"

"Ready for what?"

"What ritual must we face?" Flossie asks in a hushed whisper. Anne and Marcy grab a flashlight each, while Jean partly covers her face with a blanket. "An ancient ritual only for the bravest of souls. The custom that separates the mice from the men. Our ritual…"

The girls turn the flashlights on, shining them in their faces for a dramatic, spooky look. "The Scare-Dare Challenge!" They all say in scary voices. Anne and Marcy do ghost sound effects.

This makes the amphibian kids shiver, both in excitement and fear. What was this game the girls wanted to play? It looked fun!

"The rules: one of us comes up with a scary dare, and we all have to do it." Marcy explains.

Anne nods in agreement, taking over for Marcy as the young girl images in a stack of books. "But whoever bails first gets their name added to…."

"The Book of Losers!" Marcy brandishes said book, the title written in red pen. The amphibians gasp.

"Yep." Jean pops the p as she continues. "And once your name is in the Book of Losers, it'll be there FOREVER!" Jean exclaims dramatically, as the other girls echo "forever". After glancing at each other, the three amphibians grin. "Well, I'm sold!"

"Let's do this!"

"MY NAMES NOT GOIN' IN THAT BOOK!" Flossie shouts loudly. "What's the dare?!"

Marcy grins. "Okay! All we need is a scary dare." She states. All the children go silent, humming in thought at what dare they could do. But none came to mind. Jean's brows furrow. "Huh, was it always this difficult to come up with a dare?" She questions the two younger girls sitting beside her. Marcy and Anne shrug.

"Sasha was always the one to come up with the best scare dares." Marcy points out. Looking back, Jean realised the young girl was right. Sasha WAS the toughest of the two girls. Jean, however, never bothered with coming up with any dares whenever she played, even though she's the oldest. Like she said, her favourite part of the sleep over was chilling out and having fun!

Anne had by now gotten up, and was staring at a map of the castle using her phone's flashlight. Looking at the torn up bottom, she smirks, "Oh, what about the basement? Ow!" She draws her hand away with a yelp, looking at the small cut on her finger. "Paper cut."

Marcy seemed unsure of the idea, looking anxiously toward the door to see if Lady Olivia were somehow listening. "Anne, that place is probably off-limits for a reason." She points out. Jean nods, remembering Lady Olivia's warning. "Yeah, Anne. I don't think that's really a good idea. Who knows what could be down there."

"Exactly!" Flossie pipes. Ecstatic to do this dare. "Think about it, Jean! Why would they tell us the basement is off-limits? They could be hiding something down there! Like treasure!" She giggles giddily just at the thought. "C'mon, pleeeease?"

"Come on, guys. It's what Sasha would do!" Anne adds. Marcy hums, realising both the axolotl and Anne were right. "Well, that is true. I hereby accept this Scare-Dare challenge."

"We also accept the Scare-Dare challenge!"

Jean groans, rubbing the bridge of her nose. The kids had definitely piqued her interest with their statements. "Alright, fine. I accept the Scare-Dare challenge." She relents. The kids cheer loudly, before the older teen cuts them off. "BUT! If it turns out there's some kind of weird monster trying to kill us down there, you're ALL going in the Book of Losers." She states. The children all groan, but accept.

"It is done. This Scare-Dare challenge is now….official!"

The six kids sneak past a sleeping Lady Olivia toward the cellar, where Marcy had claimed there was a trapdoor leading to the basement. Polly pauses, taking a look at the vulnerable lady newt as an evil smirk spreads on her face. Reaching up to Jean, who was the last in line, she taps her ankle, gaining the older teens attention.

Pulling a marker from behind her back, she motions to Olivia. Seeing her plan, Jean grins herself, helping Polly up to draw on her face so the newt doesn't wake up. As the polliwog gets to work, thee two of them snicker.

The others make it to the bottom of the cellar stairs, Jean and Polly not too far behind. Anne lifts the heavy trapdoor, and a huge billow of dust floods the room, causing the kids to cough. Before them, leading into the basement, was a dark staircase. No torches or light to shine the way.

They stand there, contemplating their decision. "So…who wants to go first?" Sprig asks. Polly immediately points to Anne. "I vote Anne."

"What? Why?!" The young girl questions. Marcy shrugs. "Well, it was your idea." She points out. Anne hesitates, looking around. The older teen notices this, before letting out a groan. SHe was the oldest. C'mon, she can do this. "I'll go first. Someone hand me a light?"

Anne gratefully passes her her phone and, after taking a second to clam herself down, Jean slowly starts to descend the dark flight of stairs. Anne and Flossie were close behind, then Marcy, and finally Sprig and Polly.

The trapdoor seemingly closes on its own, spooking the kids and leaving them in complete darkness.

The kids stick close to each other. Marcy holds her phone tightly, looking around at her surroundings, and NOT watching were she was going. Seconds later, Jean heard a yelps coming from behind her, followed Marcy and Flossie tumbling down the stairs pass her. Marcy had tripped into Flossie, sending both of them toppling down. Jean managed to grab Flossie by her pyjama shirt, but she just missed grabbing Marcy.

"MARCY!"

Marcy fell further into the darkness, yelling as she fell. Her light disappeared, and the rest of the kids hurriedly descend down the dark staircase.

Reaching the bottom, Jean was relieved to see that Marcy was alright, albeit a little dazed. As the young girl got up, she looked to her right to see a mirror, but her reflection had a mouth with sharp teeth. Squealing, she gets up, running right into Anne. They both scream, followed by Sprig, Flossie and Polly.

"ALRIGHT THATS ENOUGH!" Jean shouts, quieting them down. Looking down at the mirror, the "sharp teeth" Marcy had seen was nothing but a moth. The older teen shoos it away, before looking around. "Whoa, what is this place?"

Looking down the corridor, the kids shiver at the sight. It was a hall of mirrors,, eery looking in the lighting. The moth Jean had shooed away fluttered to the other end, out of sight.

"So…anyone wanna turn back and go into the Book of Losers?" Anne asks. All the youngsters share a glance, but begin saying they were fine, and they moved forward once again.

"What's with all the mirrors?" Flossie asks, wiping the dust off the one beside her as she walked. Marcy hums in thought as she pauses to look into one. "Well, in some cultures belief mirrors can ward off malevolent spirits, or summon them." She does a sinister laugh, causing the kids to shiver.

Jean couldn't help but shiver herself, pausing to inspect her own reflection. She took note of how messy her hair looked while it was out. It rested on her shoulders, flowing halfway down her back. Yeesh, she needed a haircut badly.

As she checked out her appearance, her eye caught a humanoid-looking mist forming behind her in the reflection. She hurriedly glances over her shoulder to look, but there was nothing there. Looking back at the mirror, the mist was gone. The older teen shakes her head.

Must've been some kind of form of pareidolia.

With a sigh, the human follows the others to the end of the corridor.

Reaching the end of the corridor, they look up at large door covered in chains. Marcy and Anne shine their phone torches over a sign, which was written in red, amphibian runes.

"Uh, Marcy, what does this say?" Anne asks. Marcy hums in thought. "My command of Newtopian linguistics is limited, but what it says should be fairly obvious."

"Keep out." They all say at the same time. The door creaks, and all the children jump, huddling together from the fright. Anne laughs nervously. "Okay, somebody's gotta wanna go back by now."

Sprig furiously shakes his head, and Jean realised he, Flossie and Polly were all shaking. "I-I ain't going in no Book of L-Losers." The pink frog tried saying bravely. Polly and Flossie both nod. "M-me n-n-neither."

"I-I'm not s-scared!"

Anne and Marcy grimace. "Guess we'll go a bit further then." Marcy says. Anne nods. "Uh-huh. Living my best life right now." The Thai girl lies through her teeth.

Jean grabs their shoulders as they go to yank the sign off the large door before them. "Guys, I don't think we should go any further. Who knows what's behind that door. I'm…getting a bad feeling about this." She says quietly, looking back over her shoulder. There was no mist, but Jean couldn't help but feel like she was being watched.

Polly scoffs. "Sounds to me like someone's SCARED!" She points out. Jean glares at her. "I'm not scared, I just have a bad feeling." She replies, crossing her arms at the polliwog. While they were arguing, Flossie, Anne and Marcy all open the large door. The sound of the sign falling to the floor and the large creak of the door made Jean finally turn around, and she let out an audible gasp.

"What the heck?"

"Whoa!"

Before the kids, lay a room half filled with water. But the part that made Jean shudder were the coffins. There were several, large coffins floating in the water.

"What is this place?" Flossie asks, inspecting the cravings on each of the coffins.

"I-it looks like some kind of creepy crypt." Anne stammers. At that, Polly's and Sprig's interest had been piqued. "Whoa-ho! You mean like dead bodies? Cool!" The polliwog cackles as she and her brother all jump onto the nearest coffin to take a closer look.

Flossie hides behind Jean, grabbing onto her pants. "I-i don't like this. C-can we go back?" She whispers. Jean pats her head, trying to reassure her by putting on a brave, calm facade. But inside, she was panicking.

Something was screaming at her to get out.

Get out.

'GET. OUT.'

Marcy grabs onto Anne's arm. "Anne, we shouldn't be here. This feels all sorts of wrong." She urges. Anne looks at Marcy, then at Flossie and Jean. The older teen was staring at the coffins. If Anne didn't know the older teen, she'd think she was fine. She finally turns to the young Plantars. "Guys, I, uh, think Marcy and Floss are right. We should head back upstairs."

Polly and Sprig smirk at each other. The pink frog turns to Anne and the girls. "Oh, I see. So you guys are okay with going in…"

"The Book of Losers!"

Anne scoffs. "We don't wanna go back 'cause we're scared! This place just isn't our style!" She tries playing off. Polly and Sprig don't believe her, but shrug. "Okay, prove it. Take a selfie by that coffin." He gestures to the largest coffin on the other side of the room.

Jean felt her blood run cold, but she didn't understand why. All she knew was that her gut was telling them to leave. Right now.

But Anne and Marcy had already started hanging over to the coffin. Realising this, Jean panicked.

"STOP!" The sound of her own voice shocked her. Was her voice always that deep?

Her cry shocked the others, and they turn to look at her, confused. The older teen clears her throat. "Th-there's something really wrong here, we have to go. Right now." She urged. Anne glanced between the older teen and Sprig and Polly, noticing the smirks the young Plantars had. She shoots Jean a smile. "Don't worry. We're just gonna take a quick selfie then we'll go, okay?"

Before the older teen could interject, Anne and Marcy were already wading further into the water, heading closer to the coffin.

'Get out! It'll ruin EVERYTHING if we're caught now!'

Jean tries to calm her rapid heartbeat. This was fine. They were just going to take a quick picture, and then they could leave.

Looking down at Flossie, she noticed that the axolotl was manipulating the water do a ribbon-like dance with just her finger.

Anne and Marcy's mumbling could be heard from the other side of the room, then the bright flash of Anne's phone could be seen.

The girls scream alarmed the older teen, and she squints into the darkness. A few seconds later, the murky water started glowing an eerie purple, lighting up the room in a faint glow. From the water, several absurd, ghosts-like creatures emerged.

One small one floated over to Sprig, and he held up a hand to pet it. "Hey, they're actually kind of cute." He points out. He reaches out to touch it when Jean notices something in the corner of the room. It was one of the creatures, and inside of it were frog bones, which were rapidly dissolving.

It felt like her hand moves on its own accord as he grabs his wrist. "DON'T!" There it was again, her voice sounded deeper than it is. Was she sick Or was that just her?

The older teen points to the other side of the room to the same creature. Noticing it, Sprig, Polly and Flossie scream.

"They're gonna eat our bones!"

"Forget this! We're losers! We lose!"

They run screaming from the room, Flossie right behind. Jean turns back to Anne and Marcy. She had to help get them out.

Jumping into the water, she runs towards the two girls.

"I don't get it. Are they aliens? Ghosts?" Anne asks, as Marcy grabs her shoulders. "Does it matter?! Let's get out of here, Scoob!"

"Roger that! Wait, what did you just call me?"

Jean reaches the girls finally, and starts pushing them toward the exit. "Come on! Maybe if we make it back, Lady Olivia can help us-" she stops in her tracks. The creatures were blocking the way out.

"Fudge!"

"Jean!"

Jean looks over her shoulder, seeing Flossie, Spirg and Polly by another exit, waving them over. "Guys, this way!"

Grabbing Anne and Marcy's wrists, Jean makes a beeline to the exit, meeting the young amphibians there. Together, they run down a thin hallway, the creatures right behind.

Turning a corner, they halt in their tracks. Before them stood another hallway with mirrors. "Man, someone really loves mirrors." Anne points out. Looking back the way they came, Jean panics at the sight of the approaching creatures. "OKAY THEY HAVE A WEIRD THING WITH MIRRORS NOW LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!" She says, pushing the kids forward. The kids listen, and Jean runs behind them, making sure that none get left behind. Unbeknownst to the kids, the creatures sink through the floor, avoiding the mirrors all together.

Ducking into a hole in the wall, they find themselves in a room covered in all sorts of plants. Marcy pauses in her run, looking up at them in confusion. "What the…a garden? But how are these plants growing so well without sunlight?" She questions.

As she pauses, Jean does too, feeling an invisible tug in her very soul as she passes by a seemingly normal rock that was cracked in two.

She looks down at the two pieces of stone, realising that they had very faint writing on them. Like someone had chiseled away at it….

"I…is that a gravestone?"

This shouldn't be surprising her. They had literally just come across a cemetery with coffins, and were being chased by ghosts.

But if they were running away from the underground water-logged cemetery…why was there a seperate, broken gravestone all the way in here? And who would've broken it?

Flossie abruptly grabs her hand, snapping her back into reality. The axolotl stared at something behind the human with wide, fearful eyes. "Jean, what are you doing?! We have to go now!"

The older teen shakes her head, nodding. "Right! Right!"

As they rounded the bend, leaving the plantation room, the human heard a faint voice in the back of her mind. It was small, and she was too busy thinking about the creatures to really hear it.

'We were right here…'

As the gang pass through another room, Sprig raises at a torn up painting. From what was visible, there were four figures, but they were hard to make out. "Whoa, someone really hated this painting." He points out. Polly groans, pulling her brother away. "Aah! Hurry up!"

This resulted in Sprig accidentally ripping the painting.

As Jean ran by, she felt herself move without thinking. Her hand reached down, grabbing the painting as she ran, before stuffing it into her pocket. She didn't get a good look at it.

The gang find a stairwell and rush up, finding a trapdoor leading upwards. With a lot of effort, the kids managed to push the old door open. They were surprised to find themselves back in Marcy's room.

"My room?"

"Don't question it!" Sprig shouts. They hurriedly get up, and the pink frog shuts the door. The kids pant for breath, letting themselves relax. Anne chuckled. "Oh, thank goodness that's…." She screams, and the others join too. For phasing through the trapdoor rose the ghost-like creatures.

The gang back up, at a loss for what to do. That's when Anne gets a brilliant idea. Reaching behind her, she throws a book at the creatures. "Take this, you overgrown gummy worm!"

The book phases through the largest of the lot, and lands in front of Sprig, Polly and Flossie. Immediately, the three join in, throwing as many books at the monsters as they could.

Jean observes the creatures, trying to think of some kind of weakness. But nothing came to mind. How was she supposed to fight a GHOST?

"This isn't working! Why are the books passing right through them?!" Marcy asks, panicked. Anne scuffles around for more something else to use. Finding the silly string bug, she shoots it at the creature, but with no luck. It passes right through, heading right toward Sprig.

The pink frog uses a mirror to shield himself from the silly string bug. That's when the largest of the creatures shrieks in pain, and is enveloped in a bright light. Shielding their eyes, the kids watch in confusion as the creature falls to the floor. They couldn't see through it anymore.

As it got up, Jean thinks fast, grabbing pillow and whacking it back to the floor. "STAY DOWN!"

"It's physical? But how?" Marcy asks aloud. She, Anne and Jean look over to Sprig, who was still holding the mirror. That's when it dawned on them.

"The mirrors!"

"Both hallways to the crypt were filled with mirrors!" Anne gasps. Marcy places a hand to her chin. "It looks like the refraction of their own light turns-"

"Everyone grab a mirror!" Jean interrupts, picking up one herself before tossing more to the young amphibians.

Together, they used the mirror to make all the creatures physical. Anne pauses as she looks into hers. "Hey, was anyone gonna tell me I have leaves in my hair?"

"Not now, Anne!"

"Oh, right, sorry."

Sprig and Flossie beat the monsters back into the trapdoor, as Anne and Jean shove it closed. Marcy and Polly shover heavy things on top, and the kids finally catch their breath, still on edge. Marcy laughs light-heartedly. "So, anyone think they're going to be able to sleep after that terrifying experience?"

"Nope."

"Nu-uh."

"Oh heck nah."

"Ain't no way."

The sun rose as Marcy's phone alarm blared, showing the kids that it was 6:00am. On the bed, wrapped in a blanket, the tired kids huddled together.

Sprig let out a sigh. "Well, we did it."

"We stayed awake all night." Polly adds. Flossie rubs her eyes, looking blearily around. "Yippeee…." Her voice trails off, as she struggles to stay awake.

"Oh, I still have so many questions!" Marcy gasps. "What were those things? What's the deal with the basement? And if those were really ghosts, is there actually an after life?"

Anne's eyes widen, realising Marcy's statement was true. "I didn't even think about that." She deadpans.

"Well, one things for sure. That sleepover was amazing!" Sprig concludes. Polly grins, agreeing with her brother. "It was the best!"

"The best of the best!" Flossie pumps. Seeing the amphibians happy, Anne and Marcy give each other a fist bump. Their mission was complete.

Anne turned to give Jean a fist bump, but was surprised to see her back to them, hunched over and looking at something in her hands.

Jean looks down at the torn up painting. It had what looked like a green frog and another, yellowish figure. She furrowed her brows, at a loss.

What had possessed her to pick this up? She wasn't interested in it.

Last night was certainly…weird. And she didn't mean the whole basement situation, either. No, she was talking about the "her limbs moving against her will", and the weird, deep voice she had. There was something wrong with her.

There was something wrong with her, and it made her angry that she couldn't pinpoint what it was.

And she didn't know how much longer she could ignore it.

"Jean? You okay?"

Jean glances over her shoulder, not even realising that the kids had started conversing. Anne was looking her way with a quizzical look.

She could ignore her issues for a little longer, right?

Shoving the picture in her pocket, Jean shoots her a grin. "Yeah, I'm fine! BUt yeesh, I think you need more sleep." She jokes, gesturing to the bags under the younger girls eyes. Anne shoves her shoulder, earning a giggle from them both.

Hearing a sigh coming from the pink frog, Jean notices that he''s reaching for the Book of Losers. "I just wish I didn't have to add my name to the Book of Losers." He sighs. Polly was the next to write her name. "Me either." She states, blowing a small raspberry. Flossie soon joined.

Anne smiles softly, taking the pencil next. "Hand me that pen. You're not the only losers. I was scared out of my mind." The young girl says. Marcy laughs, writing her own name. "Me too."

"This ain't the first time, either." Jean adds, putting her own name down. The young amphibians look up at them in disbelief. "For real?"

"Have a look."

Flipping toward the start of the book, the young amphibians were surprised to see Anne's, Marcy's and Jean's names several times written in its pages, along with some doodles. Sprig gasps. "Whoa! Your names are in here a bunch of times!"

"Yep. The only one brave enough to never get in the book was Sasha." Marcy says, and the three humans sadden. Anne lets out a sigh, turning to her two friends. "We have to find her, guys. We have to make things right."

"We will, Anne. I just know it." Marcy smiles softly. But the older teen only frowns. She know they'll find her, but…she's worried. After what happened at Toad Tower, there could be chance that Sasha doesn't want to make things right.

She's worried for her little sister.

The door slamming open startles the kids, and they let out out a terrified scream and duck for cover under the blanket.

"Rise and shine, kids." Lady Olivia shouts at the kids. Peeking out from under the covers, Jean notices the Lady newts face was drawn all over. She and Polly snicker at their handiwork.

"Because of you, I barely slept a wink last night. Ugh, well, whatever. It's go time. Your audience with King Andrias is about to begin. GET. READY!" With that, Lady Olivia slams the door shut, and the gang could hear her march away, grumbling curses to herself. At that, they couldn't hold in their giggles, and begin to laugh hysterically.

As they laughed away, a new voice joined them. A high-pitched, echoey giggle, that didn't sound natural.

The kids all stare in horror at the small, ghost-like creature they had been running away from mere hours before. They all scream, falling off the bed to get away from the creature.

Watching the kids, a figure face palms. "I swear, if I wasn't already dead these idiots would be the death of me." They grumble, swinging their legs as they watch the gang turn the strange ghost-like creature physical.

Soul picks up the small critter, repeatedly saying "ew, ew, ew!" As she throws it into the small trapdoor. At that, the figure cackles.

"But by olms, this is the best form of entertainment I've had in a long time."

Glancing to their right, they looks out the window over-looking Newtopia. Their own smile soon fades, noticing just how much the city had changed.

How he wished he could walk these streets, to just feel the warm sun on his skin and the wind blow in his hair one last time.
