Month 1

Month one was the standard affair. The two teenagers pooled their money together and purchased a gym membership. They hit the gym nearly every day. They sparred against each other quirkless. Izuku preferred using kicks and palm strikes, while Katsuki preferred punches and grappling. They weaved around each other's attacks, sometimes accidentally transforming out of instinct.

Month 2

Month two was like month 1. They hit the gym and sparred against each other. However, things changed drastically in Month two. The two teens were going on a cool down walk in the park, occasionally sipping water. They encountered an elderly man. He had neck-length silver hair, silver facial hair, and tanned skin. He dressed plainly, in a T-shirt, shorts, sandals, and oddly enough, a silver cloak. However, the most notable thing about him was his presence. He had an aura that commanded authority, similar to that to a King. He could tell you to jump off a cliff, and you felt compelled to do it.

"Hey, you two," he said, trying to get Izuku and Katsuki's attention.

They stopped and turned their heads to the man on the bench. They listened.

"What are you two doing here every day?" It was a simple question.

Katsuki spoke first. "We're training for the U.A Entrance Exams. We finish and cool off by walking through this park."

The old man smiled before pulling out a flask. He took a sip before returning it to his pocket. "So you're aiming for U.A., huh? What makes you think you're going to get in? I could probably beat both of you right now without trying."

"Huh?! Talking shit old man? We could definitely beat you!" Katsuki responded angrily. Honestly, Izuku was perplexed. Why would he challenge us?

"Alright we could arrange this now," he said as he stood up. The man stood at a tall 6 feet and 2 inches, and towered over Izuku and Katsuki, "Hit me with your best shot."

Izuku looked around for anyone at the park. It was only them. "Are you sure? Quirk use in public is illegal."

"Eh, nobody's going to care." Rayleigh got into a slight fighting stance, and so did Izuku and Katsuki.

The air shifted. To Izuku and Katsuki, their world blurred. Some sensation was pounding throughout their body, and they collapsed to the ground. Their eyesight constantly shifted from too dark to too bright, their ears were pounding, and it felt like pressure was applying to them constantly, as if gravity increased tenfold. They wanted to pass out, but they couldn't. They will never back down.

Then, the pressure stopped. The old man was back on the bench, only this time smiling.

"You two are still conscious. Good job. That knocked most people out. You clearly have the potential. I'll teach you what I know."

They both recovered and stood up.

"Who are you, and what was that?" Katsuki and Izuku asked him.

"My name? It's Silvers Rayleigh."

Izuku's face immediately lit up. "Wait, your Silvers Rayleigh?! As in 'Dark King' Silvers Rayleigh?!"

"Yep. The one and only." He took a sip of his flask.

"Wait, how do you know him?" Katsuki asked Izuku.

"He was an underground hero. He worked away from the limelight. They essentially operate at night or in the shadows. One of his most famous cases was that one human trafficking ring, where he busted out a bunch of people who were kidnapped because of their quirks."

"Geez kid, you sure know your stuff. And to answer your second question, that was Haki."

"What's Haki?"

"Haki is the power of ambition and willpower. It lies dormant within people. Everyone can learn to use it, but few can use it effectively."

"And you say, you're going to teach us?"

"Yes. Anyone who can withstand my Conqueror's Haki is worthy."

Rayleigh dedicated the remaining 7 months to teaching the two boys the basics of Haki.

When it came to Haki types, Izuku was a natural in Observation, and Katsuki was a natural in Armament. He taught the boys all about the functions of both.

They were in the park. Izuku and Katsuki were in tracksuits, while Rayleigh had regular clothes.

"Now you two, there has been something I've been excluding from your training."

Katsuki and Izuku looked at each other for a moment before they realized. "The day we met, you mentioned… Conqueror's Haki?"

Rayleigh stuck his thumbs up. "Yep. Conqueror's Haki is a different type compared to the main two. It's only usable by 1 in a million people. Top tier heroes are most likely proficient users in it."

He laid a hand on both of their shoulders, "I'm going to see if you two have it."

Rayleigh blasted his Haki, while having his Observation active. He watched as their silhouettes swirled and molded back into their regular shapes. Then both of their auras turned red.

He took his hands off of their shoulders and stood back.

"My, my. I've never trained two people once who both had Conqueror's Haki. Hell, I've never seen someone react to my Haki like that. You two remind me of one kid I trained. He had a hardening quirk, and some of the best Armament Haki I've ever seen."

"Wait, we both have Conqueror's Haki?" Izuku asked as Katsuki's smile widened.

"Yep, I'll spend this last month teaching you all that I know."

And teach he did. He taught them the basic use of Conqueror's Haki. How to use it as an AOE attack, and how to direct it at a target.

"You two are going to your exam tomorrow, So I won't be seeing you much afterwards. I do have two pieces of advice for you. One Armament Haki flows."

They both nodded.

"And two, Conqueror's Haki is not that different from Armament."

Izuku and Katsuki were a bit confused.

Rayleigh just laughed. "Don't worry about it now, but just keep it in mind."

They went home, and prepared for the U.A. Hero Entrance Exam.
