"WELCOME ONE AND ALL MY LIVE SHOW! EVERYBODY SAY HEEEEY!"
Silence. It was to where one kid with a cricket quirk thought it would be funny to chirp.
Present Mic continued on and explained how the exam worked. They destroyed robots that granted points ranging from one to three.
"Geez, he's loud." Katsuki whispered under his breath.
"Yeah, it reminds me of another blonde." Izuku responded, waiting on Katsuki's response.
"Who- wait a minute." He said as the gears in his head started turning.
"HEY! You two, with sharp teeth!" A spotlight shone on a muscular boy with short blue hair, "You two have been whispering nonstop! If you could stop being so rud-"
Katsuki interrupted, "Dude! You're causing more of a distraction than we were!"
Izuku just sat next to Katsuki, watching the argument silently.
"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT LISTENERS! JUST LET ME FINISH THE EXPLANATION!"
Both Katsuki and the tall boy slid back into their seats.
Katsuki mumbled underneath his breath and focused his attention to Present Mic.
Once he finished his explanation, robots handed out cards. Katsuki and Izuku received their arena cards.
Izuku looked over at Katsuki's card. "Huh, you got Arena A, and I got Arena D."
Katsuki thought for a moment, "It's probably so friends don't start teaming."
"Yeah, that makes sense."
"Anyway, see ya after the exam."
"See ya too. Make sure to pass!" Katsuki yelled as he went to one of the changing rooms.
Izuku smiled, flashing his sharp teeth, "As if there was any doubt."
Unbeknownst to both of them, there was a lean man with black, scraggly hair observing them.
"Kids these days," He pulled out some eye drops from his pocket, and put them in his eyes, "So overconfident."
He walked off and went to the Observation Deck.
—
Izuku relaxed as he was on the bus. He was confident in his abilities and had no doubts both of them could pass. With his Haki, he could sense a variety of emotions on the ride there. He sensed some confidence, and a lot of nervousness. It created a bit of tension in his heart.
Eventually, they arrived. Everyone unloaded off of the bus, and gathered in front of the city gates.
He waited impatiently in front of the door, and the minute it opened, he transformed into sand and booked it.
"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? THERE ARE NO COUNTDOWNS IN A REAL BATTLE?"
Kids shifted into high gear as they flooded the city.
—
In the observation room, Pro-Heroes watched the screens of the city, observing all of the students during the exams.
A small rodent-like mammal in a suit and vest took a sip of tea, "So, are there any students that catch your eyes?"
A woman dolled up in a domino mask and dominatrix gear pointed at a screen, "These girls," one girl had ginger hair and large hands, while the other girl had pink skin and yellow horns, "Have the potential to be amazing heroes."
A man with a cowboy hat and mask pointed his finger at another screen. "I reckon this kid has what it takes." He was pointing towards a tall boy with engines in his legs, as he drop-kicked a large 3-pointer.
Meanwhile, the rodent and the scraggly haired man held a different conversation. "Aizawa, do you see those three kids?" He gestured towards three different students. The first one had spiky red hair, and rough skin. His hands were black, and covered in a metallic-like substance. The second boy had green hair, and his hand was a blade of sand, also metallic-black. The third boy was a blond-haired boy, firing off explosions. While it didn't initially show it, whenever he went in for close combat, his hands turned metallic-black. "These boys know Haki!"
"Hmm." He initially had his reservations about the blond- and green-haired kids. Overconfidence was probably a bad sign, but those two knew Haki, which was a good sign. He was silent as he nodded along. "You don't know if some of these kids have Observation Haki."
"True. It is hard to tell if someone has Observation Haki," He put his teacup down, and straightened his suit, "I dare say it's time we test their ambition!" the rodent said as he pressed a large red button on the counter.
—
Everything had been going fine for Izuku. He had gathered a good 45 points. He wanted to gather more to solidify his spot within the school.
'Come on, there has to be more-," He thought as he moved through the rooftops.
His thoughts were interrupted when the ground rumbled violently. Some kids fell over and some were wary. Coming towards the main street in the exam, was a titanic robot. It towered over the skyscrapers in the mock city.
'Nope, I don't gotta finish that'
"H…elp."
Izuku's Observation Haki picked up one presence from the rubble. He heard their cry for help. He leaped off the building, collapsing into sand as he hit the ground. Trapped underneath the rubble was a girl with short,pale-gray hair. The rubble above her glowed a pink aura and wobbled, but the rubble would not move.
"She's trapped." He looked above to see the technical titanic robot quickly approaching. He made a split second decision and ran forward. He leaped into the air, transforming his lower half into a sand cyclone to keep him airborne. He spun around and on the 10th rotation, he transformed his hands into sand blades.
The sand blades turned black as they approached the robot.
"Desert La Spada!"
The 4 blades of armament-reinforced sand shredded the zero-pointer robot. Circuitry and wire sprinkled across the area like rain, and Izuku landed in front of the girl in the rubble.
"Hey, are you well?" he asked as he began lifting some rubble. He also dehydrated a boulder, causing sand to generate from it.
"I'm a little banged up," she said as she inspected her leg, "but other than my leg, I should be good."
"THE EXAM IS OVER!" He heard as Present Mic's voice flooded the loudspeakers.
A short, elderly woman with a doctor's coat and a large syringe made her way through the crowd. She made her way to the front where she could see Izuku and the girl with him.
"Oh my, it seems she got a little injured. I'll fix that up." She extended her lips, almost like an appendage, and kissed the girl on the forehead. Her leg glowed a green energy, as her body started repairing itself.
"Do you have any injuries, young man?" she asked as she turned her attention to Izuku.
"No, I don't. Thank you, Recovery Girl."
"No problem," She redirected her attention back to the gray-haired girl, "Here, eat these."
She pulled out a small pack of gummies. "These'll restore some of your energy."
She walked off in search of any other injured students as Izuku prepared to leave.
"Wait!" Izuku turned his head to see the girl he saved walk up to him, "What's your name?"
"Izuku Midoriya. What's yours?"
"Reiko Yanagi."
