This -for now?- one shot was written for my friend's birthday!

Since we boarded the Taikoura/Taishirora (Taichi x Koushirou x Sora) train, we started drafting a polyamory AU for these three characters and this is the origin story. Important: it's a different AU than the one in the 'Shades of Red' Taikoura story I've written and published!

If this turns out to be a multi chapter, this is part/chapter 2 of that origin story. So before you start reading a little context:

- Taishiro (Taichi x Koushirou) is established.
- Sora is still a fashion designer. She traveled a lot for her work, but decided to come back to Tokyo.
- She needed a place to stay and so she called her childhood bestie and her co-redhead, whom she frequently contacts, to ask for advice.
- The boys end up asking her to live with them for as long as she needs to. At first she doesn't want to take the offer, but eventually she can't say no either.
- A.k.a.: they three of them are living together!

Last note: This is a SFW chapter, but there is some sexual innuendo (and maybe one or two 'shits'). However, there is a NSFW version! Find it on AO3, published under the same username ;)

Ready? Happy readings and let me know what you think!

The early morning sun made its way through the narrow gap between the curtains, a dash of light shining in his eye. Just like the light had sneaked into their bedroom, the sound of his alarm echoed in his ears, both making him wake up from his slumber. He stretched his slender body, turning off the alarm without looking. Next to him he felt another body waking up, rolling from its one to its other side, two long arms reaching for his own body. The arms snaked around him, pulling him into a sweet morning hug. And he simply could not resist to scooch a little closer, burying his nose in between the collarbones of his partner.

Waking up by his alarm had always been a thing for Koushirou. But waking up in the arms of Yagami Taichi made everything a tad sweeter.

Koushirou was sure he wanted to start every single day like this for the rest of his life. Love filled his chest, his eyes fixated on Taichi slowly waking up, his embrace tightening around Koushirou's small and lean build as he opened his eyes. Taichi's brown orbs flickered through the slits that were his eyes, the grin on his lips showing his satisfaction. Koushirou could feel Taichi lowering his head a little, his lips now gently touching his forehead and he could hear and feel him saying a groggy good morning against his skin, followed by a soft peck. Koushirou's eyes wandered up, trying to find Taichi's eyes with his own, before finding Taichi's lips with his own. As carefully and gently Koushirou pressed his lips against Taichi's lips, Taichi himself kissed him back more passionately.

"Taichi-san," Koushirou giggled against the warm lips savoring him. He placed his hands on Taichi's chest, lightly pushing him back to tease and look at him. Koushirou could have known that Taichi wouldn't give up that easily though, immediately closing the formed gap between their bodies again.

It was a silly game they played more often, Koushirou pushing him away for some space. However, today he decided to give in to Taichi's antics, letting him be his affectionate self and within seconds Taichi's lips had found Koushirou's again. Taichi's hands roaming his bare back pulling Koushirou even closer to him.

"Happy anniversary," Taichi whispered, giving both of them some time to breathe in between kisses. Koushirou smiled at this.

"Happy anniversary," he smiled back, right before Taichi devoured him in another kiss.

Today marked five years of being in love. Or better said, being openly in love. They had longed for each other before they began dating, but were both too afraid to admit it, to both themselves as to others and especially each other. To Koushirou, falling in love with a man, who happened to be his best friend, was a strange sensation at first. At the same time, it was liberating and eye opening, as if he finally had found himself. And though he still could see himself fall in love with a woman, back then Taichi was enough. More than enough, fulfilling a dream he had been ignorant of for the longest time.

And now they were five years in.

Just thinking about it made him blush besides incredibly happy. He felt lucky with someone like Taichi by his side and even though he knew he couldn't wish for more, there was this weird feeling of missing something more nagging at him. Something extra he couldn't grasp or place, a thought itching in the back of his head. Among the few things Koushirou couldn't explain, this feeling was one of them . He pushed it away, indulging himself in the moment, this day and the life he was about to face together with his best friend, partner in crime but overall lover.

"Hmm, you're quiet," Taichi said, teasing him, "mind to share what you're thinking about?"

"I wasn't thinking about anything."

"Lame excuse. You're always thinking. Come on Kou, talk. I know you want to."

"But I don't," Koushirou concluded. Feeling bold, he pushed forward, finding Taichi's lips again, his hands freely exploring the chest of the man he loved so much. He could feel Taichi smirk.

"Oh I see," the smugness dripping off from Taichi's voice, "I know exactly how I can make you talk." And Koushirou knew exactly how Taichi preferred to make him talk. So he let him.

It made Koushirou feel loved. Taichi understood him in a way, for as far as he knew, no one else could. He lovingly looked at his partner, still panting a little after the morning exercise. His loving eyes were answered with Taichi's questioning ones. "Mmh, you really aren't going to tell me what you were thinking earlier, huh?" Taichi curiously said.

"I actually don't remember anymore."

"You forgot? Hm," Taichi said sitting up straight with his back against the headboard, pulling up the sheets to cover both of their bodies. A mischievous smile spread across his face, "seems like I did you good."

"Taichi-san!" Koushirou loudly said, his face heating up.

Taichi snickered through his smirk, then opened his mouth to respond, but he was interrupted by a knock on their bedroom door, followed by a "Can I come in?"

As if his face wasn't red enough, Koushirou could feel his cheeks glow up even harder. The heat he felt from before didn't compare to the heat of being ashamed knowing he was naked underneath the covers. He quickly grabbed the sheets to cover himself up a bit more, all the while Taichi told the owner of the voice to come in.

"Taichi-san…" he gritted through his teeth.

"What? You're covered." Taichi immediately replied, seemingly not as ashamed by the situation as he was, saying it loud enough for the person walking in the room to hear. "Besides—"

"… I know what you two were doing," the redheaded girl said with a smirk, finishing Taichi's sentence. This made Koushirou blush even harder, but he made himself look at her anyway. That's when he saw her walking in with a tray with something that looked like breakfast, cake and candles on it. The blushing shame he felt before now turning into a form of astonishment. "Happy anniversary!"

Taichi and Koushirou looked at their anniversary breakfast with wide eyes, freshly prepared by Sora with love. Koushirou had to swallow away a little lump, thinking it was such a sweet gesture. Taichi, however, was less subtle.

"Aw, you remembered! Sora, you're the best, you know that right?"

"I know." Sora said with a wink. "So may I ask what your plans are for today's anniversary?"

"Hm, just relaxing." Taichi answered, accepting the tray from Sora, sniffing up the scents of freshly baked croissants. He placed the tray on top of his stretched legs. "Mom has invited us for some anniversary lunch. Kae and Masami will be there too, right Kou?" His eyes shifted from the tray to Koushirou.

"Yes," Koushirou confirmed. "and after lunch we head back home to watch a movie, I guess." He emphasized the last two words, not knowing if Taichi held back some secret present.

"Yeah, while I cook. You see, Koushirou here convinced me to cook for him, so I'm playing chef tonight." Koushirou chuckled to which Taichi playfully rolled his eyes. Sora, who in the meantime had taken a seat on the edge of their bed, joined the chuckling.

"Sounds like a lovely way to celebrate your anniversary," she said with a warm smile on her face. Koushirou and Taichi nodded in unison as Taichi took a bite from his croissant.

"You know, Sor, you should come with us. Could be fun!" Taichi blurted with his mouth half full as if it was the most common thing to say. Koushirou thought it should bother him, but weirdly enough it didn't. Even so, the idea made him rather happy.

"What? No! No way, it's your day, I'm not interfering. I just wanted to wish you a good day. Also I'm kind of hoping for a lucky night if you know what I mean…"

"You have plans, Sora-san?" Koushirou asked as he quickly scanned her outfit. She was dressed way too well-thought for a simple weekend day. "I mean, you're dressed rather nicely."

"Why, thank you. And yes, I have plans, with an emphasis on the plural." Koushirou nodded to Sora's response as an odd feeling overcame him. He looked to his right, seeing the confusion on Taichi's face mixed with a hint of disappointment. It made Koushirou just as confused.

"Tell us," Taichi said, doubt seeping through in his words, pulling Koushirou out of his thoughts.

"Long story short, Mimi was a doll and set me up with four different dates. She said it was 'time for me to settle in Tokyo' and this is her way of telling me to do so."

"What a princess," Taichi replied, doubt and confusion were replaced with hints of annoyance Taichi failed to hide, "but I have to give her some credit, finding four men willing to date on one and the same day. What time will you be home?"

A mischievous smile appeared on Sora's face. "If I'm lucky, I won't come home at all… We'll see." She said biting her bottom lips. Koushirou looked at Taichi who was clearly intrigued and still that didn't bother him. He wondered why. "Hey, I've got to go now," Sora interrupted, "wishing you two a lovely day!" She reached over the tray to peck Koushirou on his cheek, then moved back a little to reward Taichi with a similar peck. Of course this made Koushirou blush, but it also made Taichi blush.

"Be careful." Taichi tried to sound as serious as possible.

"Jesus, Taichi, you sound like my dad," Sora rolled her eyes. "But yeah, I'll be careful. Oh, and Koushiro-kun, if he really gets annoying, you can always call me."

"Hey!" Taichi exclaimed.

"I know." Koushirou smiled.

"Good. Okay, love you two, bye." And with those words she shut the door behind her. The flowery smell of her perfume lingering in the air along with that four letter word in that three words sentence. She had imprinted herself in the room, it seemed as if she was still here. But not only had she imprinted herself in the room, Koushirou thought to himself, she was present in his mind as well and he had no clue how and when that exactly had happened. All he knew, or felt, was that it wasn't a new feeling, it was just something he registered in full awareness for the first time.

With his eyes he followed the people crossing the streets. Koushirou sighed, something gnawed at him and he didn't know what. So instead, he focused on the changing scenery outside the car's window during the ride to Odaiba and right now they were in Odaiba itself, waiting in front of a red light. Taichi was behind the wheel, staring at the red light, trying to make it green with his intense stare. Koushirou laughed to himself, but also wondered if Taichi had sensed anything since they left home. He guessed not, as Taichi had been mostly quiet during the ride.

The lights turned green.

"There's something going on in that pretty head of yours you and I both can't grasp, isn't it?" Koushirou guessed wrong. Taichi slowly hit the gas pedal to make the car move again. His eyes never left the road, both hands on the steering wheel, still Taichi seemed to know what Koushirou was thinking. Or rather what he wasn't thinking.

"I guess…"

"Hm, it's okay," Taichi responded, briefly taking his eyes off the road to give Koushirou a reassuring glance, "I think I feel the same."

He had always admired Taichi for his strength and courageousness. On the flip side, he had questioned it a lot back in the day. When they were younger, both of them had troubles properly expressing their feelings and thoughts, out of fear and the lack of strength to do so. Even with that heavy theme of courage painting Taichi's life as a Digi Destined, cowardness and fear had always loomed over his strength, making him unable to make choices and unable to tell how he truly felt. It was a façade basically everyone had a hard time digging through which drove Yamato insane and made Hikari worried. It worried Koushirou too, knowing Taichi's ability to go into sacrifice mode like he always did on his lowest points, desperately wanting to protect the ones he loved.

Eventually Koushirou confided Sora with his worry and she understood, telling him that they should be patient and give Taichi some time to figure things out by himself. She had said that he would find his way to them if he needed them. Koushirou knew how tough that was for Sora to say, knowing she wanted to talk some sense into him like she often did and was incredibly good at. He also knew that she knew what was best for him and for them to do, so Koushirou took it, patiently waiting for Taichi to make a move towards them.

Slowly, over the course of months and even years, Taichi learned to open up and talk. It was hard for him, because he didn't want to be a bother and wanted to protect himself and others from his doubts. But it also brought back some of that genuine smoothness he had lost years ago, ever since he started to slip. This inspired Koushirou to open up himself more too, especially when Taichi became so invested into him for an, back then, unknown reason. Opening up made them realize how they felt towards each other and they openly fell in love, building a romantic relationship based on openness and mutual understanding.

"Openness and mutual understanding," Koushirou thought out loud. It earned him a questioning look from his driving partner. He looked over to Taichi, repeating those two things in his head over and over again, contemplating with himself what to do or say next. "Say Taichi-san," he eventually said, for once talking before thinking.

"Hm?"

"This might sound random, but…" Koushirou stopped himself.

"But what?"

"Well… I know you had a little crush on Sora-san back in the day." Koushirou boldly stated. Taichi sighed, then smiled.

"True. Just a little and I was a teenager with a lot of feelings I didn't understand. Why? You're afraid I'll run away with Sora?" Taichi nudged Koushirou with his elbow, teasing him a little, but also trying to reassure him. Though Taichi didn't know Koushirou didn't need reassurance.

"You sure you never fancied her in more than a teenage crush way?"

Taichi laughed, still genuinely, but also sounding a bit caught. "Maybe," he said, giving away exactly nothing and everything all the same. "How about you?" He instantly asked back, digging back at Koushirou.

"Mh, I have to admit I've always cherished and admired Sora-san as a friend at least," he said, followed by a short pause to check Taichi's face, but he couldn't find any trace of worry. So he continued, "but there may have been a moment or two in which I wondered… well, you know."

They stopped in front of another red light. Taichi turned his head, amused. "I should take back my maybe," he said. Koushirou looked at him. "Not gonna lie, sometimes I still wonder how it would be, even to this very day."

"Yeah," Koushirou chimed in, "Sora-san is such a warm and endearing woman."

"And also very, very beautiful." Taichi dreamily said as the lights hit green again. Koushirou was scared to feel jealousy while hearing Taichi say those words, but all he felt was fondness. For Taichi. And for Sora.

He laughed to himself. So much for openness and mutual understanding.

After arriving back home from their afternoon trip to Odaiba, Taichi had installed himself in the kitchen to prepare dinner. Koushirou had asked him to help with preparations, but Taichi didn't let him. So he sat on the couch, laptop on his lap to look through the wide range of movies, shutting all of them down based on the reviews he read. It was a hopeless task, but it was better than doing nothing.

The sound of the door falling shut pleasantly distracted his frustrating quest for a movie to watch later, signaling Sora's arrival home. She was a stunning woman with a lot of charms and Taichi and he himself had expected they wouldn't see her until the next day. Her coming home was a surprise, a very welcome one. Though she didn't feel as welcome as she sneaked her way past them. Or so she thought.

"Home already?" Koushirou could hear Taichi yell from the kitchen.

"Yes I am. But just… pretend I'm not here. I got myself some takeout which I will be eating on my—"

"Nonsense," Taichi said, snatching the takeout food from her hand, "you're eating with us. I made way too much just in case those dates hadn't properly filled you up."

Sora's eyes grew wider. "Ew, Taichi, that's a filthy thing to say."

"But seriously, Sora, were those dates that bad that you're home this early?"

From the couch Koushirou could see Sora's defeated face, even though she tried to hide it. She had always been good in hiding things, keeping her own feelings and emotions away from others to see, but over the years she had learned to open up more. Besides, both Koushirou and Taichi knew her well enough to read her face. "The last one canceled last minute and the other three weren't that interesting." Sora sighed.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Sora-san."

"Thank you for your sympathy, Koushirou-kun," a little smile escaped her lips as she sighed again.

"Hey it's not that I don't have remorse. It's just that I prefer to have you here with us tonight than knowing you are sharing a bed with another guy you don't even like," Taichi said sternly. Sora's face relaxed a little more. "To give us some space," he eventually added.

"That's sweet and I truly appreciate it. But I'm not interfering on your anniversary." She sounded serious and Koushirou could feel his heart drop a little, wanting her to stay with them. However, it didn't feel like his place to say something, so he decided to let it pass. "So if you don't mind, I'll be in my bedroom dressed in my comfort clothes watching a girly drama series while eating my precious takeout food—Oy, Taichi!"

But Taichi wasn't letting it pass and had grabbed Sora's wrist in an attempt to grab her attention and make her stay. They stared into each other's eyes, silently arguing like they often did when they were younger. Koushirou couldn't ignore it much longer.

"Sora-san, it's fine." He said as he suddenly took Sora's other hand in his, making her quickly turn her head to look at him. It made him blush, not knowing why exactly he had taken her hand, he only knew he wanted to. "We want you to interfere and eat with us." Koushirou said, his eyes catching hers.

"Thank you, Kou. See? We both want you to be here with us. Now don't be a killjoy and have a fun night with us. Please?"

"Please, Sora-san…?"

Sora moved her head from Koushirou to Taichi and back to Koushirou. She sighed. "Okay fine. One condition."

Taichi looked pleased, immediately letting go of her wrist, seeing no more reason to hold it longer. He crossed his arms in front of his chest, challenging her a bit. "Anything."

"I want wine."

"Gotcha," Taichi excitedly said, showing his enthusiasm. "Red or white? I got both and they both go along with the food perfectly!" He walked to the wine rack.

As Sora wanted to follow Taichi to the wine rack, she was stopped from walking. Both of her and Koushirou's eyes fell on her hand in his. Where Taichi had already let go of her wrist, Koushirou hadn't let go of her hand, only becoming aware of it just now. Their eyes met and Koushirou was scared Sora would shoot him a weird look. Instead, she smiled at him warmly, making his heart skip a beat and his hand relax, so she could take her hand back. He looked after her as she walked towards Taichi and Koushirou felt as if he was glued to the ground, completely starstruck by what just had happened. And how the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place.

To Koushirou those pieces were falling more and more into place as the evening progressed. They had laughed so much during dinner, maybe even talked more than they ate. Every now and then he watched how Sora and Taichi friendly touched each other as they reminisced the good old days. He could feel how both of them touched him as well, on his shoulder, his arm or hand and experienced how his own hands traveled to both of them for some reassuring touches. Taichi had even been bold enough by cupping his cheek with one hand and kiss him on the lips. It had made Sora smile wide.

"Things really changed," Sora had said looking at them, "back then you barely exchanged any physical intimacy in front of anybody without blushing furiously. It's nice to see that you're comfortable and confident about it."

Koushirou felt touched by her observations and the way she had always supported them from the front row. It made him feel warm inside and a blush crept its way to his cheeks anyway, while Taichi beamed with pride. It could've been the wine too, even though they weren't that intoxicated, too busy with talking and not with eating or drinking, the same bottle of wine on the table waiting to be poured empty.

The evening brought them to the point where Taichi and Sora were seated on the couch, talking about how their teammates used to think they had some kind of telepathic connection. Koushirou had distanced himself from the two, seated with his laptop open at the dining table. For a good cause, as he silently enjoyed them talking.

"Ah, Sor, we were such a good team…!" He could Taichi say.

"We were… Kami, those days."

"We still are a good team, Sora." From the corner of his eye, Koushirou could see Taichi approaching Sora, laying one hand on her lap, gently stroking it. "You know what, let's cheer to that!" Taichi interrupted himself, reaching for their half empty wine glasses on the coffee table, giving Sora her glass.

"Cheers indeed," she said as she raised her glass to touch Taichi's.

"Man, it makes me a bit nostalgic… How about you, Kou? Why don't you join us here?" Koushirou looked up from his laptop. Their glowing faces made him melt a little.

"Yeah, I mean, it's your anniversary and I'm the one here on the couch…" Sora said, but her face fell, looking as if she suddenly remembered something. "Kinda stealing your man… What am I actually doing here? I said I didn't want to be a burden and look at me being a burden now…" She laughed it away, then she stood up from the couch. "If you'll excuse me, I'll head to my—"

"Sora-san, stop it, you're not a burden." Koushirou interrupted standing up as Taichi seemed unable to do so. "First of all, I decided myself to take place at the dinner table and second of all, I'm enjoying the view." With those last words slipped, Koushirou let himself fall back into his chair.

"The view? What do you mean by that?" Taichi smirked.

"N-nothing! Just, seeing you two talking all happy makes me happy too, I guess?" He defended himself, aware he didn't sound that sure. Quickly he picked himself up. "Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I don't mind you sitting there and I don't mind sitting here."

"But—"

"No buts, miss, you've heard him. I can tell he's actually okay with it, I know him quite well by now. He'll join when he wants to." Taichi reassured Sora and she finally sat back down. "Besides, Sor, do you remember…"

Koushirou exhaled. Taichi had the phenomenal talent to change conversation topics, he was so great at it that even Sora, who knew Taichi from the inside out after all those years, fell for it. Koushirou snickered to himself, happy she took Taichi's bait, finding it, or actually them, adorable. He knew exactly why Taichi wanted to change topics and Koushirou couldn't blame him, because as far as he could sense, he wanted the same.

While the two childhood best friends talked away, switching from one old story to another, Koushirou divided his attention between them and his laptop screen. He heard them laugh together, talk together and watched them getting excited over something only they could get excited about, in between shifting his eyes back to his laptop screen, furiously typing away on his keyboard, trying to find some information.

Then suddenly, soft talking changed the ambiance in the room and Koushirou turned his head to Taichi and Sora, who were holding each other in a firm embrace. He looked at them, still smiling together, the volume of their voices significantly turned down, so he couldn't hear what they were saying and for some reason, he felt no jealousy at all. This was somewhat strange to him, because that was his partner with a woman Koushirou knew Taichi treasured a lot, but still, there we no hard feelings. Taichi was trying to make Sora feel comfortable and welcome and it seemed like it had worked, which made Koushirou feel relieved.

Even when that embrace slowly turned into a more physical hug and eventually into something so intimate, their cheeks rubbed against each other like two cats rubbing their heads against one another to show affection, Koushirou couldn't believe his eyes. His throat turned dry upon seeing the scene slowly unfolding in front of him, his heartrate increasing by the second. It was a dryness he recognized all too well, a dryness he only ever experienced during sexual activities, the throbbing of his heart in his chest an equally known experience during that kind of arousal. It left him breathless.

Quickly taking his eyes off of them, Koushirou took a look at the screen of his laptop for one final confirmation. He nodded to himself, a small smile he couldn't prevent from escaping showing his delight. As he turned his head back to Taichi and Sora, he caught them locking their lips in an innocent, but somehow expected kiss. Just lips exploring the other's lips, no tongues involved. Yet. A warmth filled Koushirou's chest, a warmth he wanted to hold onto for a little longer. Though it was Sora who interrupted the moment by pulling away, immediately turning to Koushirou.

"I-I'm so sorry, Koushirou!" She was so upset, she forgot the honorific, her face all red from shame and shock. Taichi's looked a little in shock as well, but less ashamed or even not ashamed at all. He couldn't have seen it coming, fully indulged in the moment. However, Koushirou couldn't share in neither shame nor shock, because he saw it coming and probably even wished for it, thinking back to all the information he had found. He smiled his most genuine smile, trying to reassure her.

"It's okay, Sora-san, really."

"No, it's not! I told you I shouldn't be here interfering," she said hurriedly, panic setting in as she stood up. Koushirou and Taichi exchanged a quick glance and Koushirou was glad Taichi had become so skilled in reading him.

"Sora, wait," Taichi said, his hand grabbing her wrist to stop her in her track.

"No, let go, Taichi!"

"Sora-san,"

"No! Don't you see? I should have never decided to stay with you guys! I'm just a pain…"

"Sora, please,"

"… and a burden…"

"Can you just listen to us for a moment?"

"… and I'm going to pack my bags now to stay with my mother instead—"

"No, you're not! Sora, you're staying and you're going to listen," Taichi almost yelled, demanding her to stop trying to get out of his tight grip on her. She turned around sharply, eyes teary and confused, her bottom lip slightly trembling, just like the rest of her body, trying to get rid of the adrenaline explosion. Koushirou watched her swallow, her guilt-filled eyes swiftly locking with his concerned ones before looking away, taking a cautious seat back on the couch next to Taichi.

As Taichi sat back down on the couch on one side of Sora, Koushirou walked up to them, taking a seat in the chair on the other side of Sora. He looked at Taichi first for some kind of consent before he directed himself to Sora with her face to the ground, breathing heavy and fast.

"Sora-san," he started carefully, "when I said it was okay, I meant it. Can you believe that? For me? And Taichi-san?"

He could hear her swallow, then watched her nod.

"Good," he continued, "because you have to hear me out. You too, Taichi-san."

Sora's head shot upward, confusingly looking at him. Taichi shot him the same confused look, his brows furrowed, probably not knowing what Koushirou was going to say.

"Taichi-san and I were talking about you today and we agreed we love to have you back in our lives. Especially in our house. We adore you for the way you act all relaxed when you're around us and we appreciate you for all that you do for and with us—"

"But we love you for who you are and for all the things you mean to us." Taichi interrupted, perfectly complementing his wordings. Koushirou smiled, even feeling butterflies flutter in his stomach for a second. And they were not just for Taichi, because in front of him was not only a man he loved, but also a woman he adored to the core in a way he couldn't describe to anyone, since they would not understand.

So Koushirou inhaled deeply. "I've seen the way you looked at each other tonight, so that kiss, as unintended as it was at first, was something that was destined to happen one time or another. Besides," he said, his cheeks turning a soft pink and he shyly continued, "I would be lying if I said I didn't kind of like the sight…?"

He looked for their reactions and he was met with two pairs of wide eyes and two dropping jaws. And he could bet their heartbeats were now aligning with his.

"D-Do you really mean that, Koushirou?" Taichi asked, a hint of disbelief still present in his voice. Koushirou nodded.

"Koushirou-kun…"

"Actually," he went on, talking over Sora, "have you two ever heard of the concept of polyamory?" He said, waiting for a response that wouldn't come. "It's a concept in which a person can have multiple relationships at once. Those can be sheer sexual relationships, but also romantic relationships, where you are in love with multiple people at once."

Koushirou could see the twinkle in Taichi's eyes, the confusion rising and rising in Sora's. Maybe he was going too fast—

"T-That's a thing?"

Or not. It was Sora who spoke with curiosity leading her question. Koushirou slowly nodded his head, deciding to carry on with his explaining. "When you have multiple romantic or sexual relationships at once, it's called a poly relationship. And there are different situations, for example, where only one is polyamorous and that one person has a relationship with two others who don't have a relationship with each other."

Both Taichi and Sora nodded, one filled with careful excitement and the other with an expression he couldn't pinpoint yet. Koushirou swallowed, getting to the part that intrigued him the most, but was also the most scary to explain, having no idea how they, and especially Sora, would react.

"There's also the situation in which, for example, three people are in a relationship together and they all are polyamorous with each other." Koushirou stopped talking, waiting for any kind of reaction.

"So like one of those love triangles we see on television… but then in real life without the tiptoeing?" Taichi thought out loud. Koushirou nodded in the confirmative.

"Can I do that?" Sora wondered out loud, grabbing the attention of both boys. "I mean, I don't know if I can do such thing, if I'm capable of that…" she shook her head, trying to shake the thoughts away, but it seemed like they stayed. "Why am I so intrigued?"

Her eyes locked with Koushirou's to find answers, but he couldn't answer them for her. And she knew. Wanting to say something else, Sora opened her mouth, but before she was able to say whatever she wanted to say, Taichi had grabbed her arm and pulled her closer bridging the gap between them on the couch, his lips finding hers for the second time that night. Koushirou watched them, feeling the same arousal he had felt earlier, an excitement he wanted to last. He could see how Sora was more relaxed than the first time, her shoulders lowering, even letting Taichi in as her lips parted for his tongue to gently enter her mouth to find hers. One of her hands softly cupping his face while the other rested on his shoulder for support. His hands were placed on her back and the back of her head to pull her as tight as possible. It was a sight Koushirou never knew he wanted to see so badly.

As Taichi and Sora finally parted and Sora turned back around to look at Koushirou, he could still sense confusion and guilt in her expression. All he wanted to do now was making her feel comfortable and sure, rid from guilt and, most of all, loved. He even admitted to himself he craved her, which made his cheeks turn red again. Taichi smirked, noticing Koushirou's change of demeanor, he motioned him to come and sit with them on the couch. Koushirou simply couldn't refuse that and so he moved over to where Sora and Taichi were sitting, taking place in the spot between Sora and the couch's right armrest, his face directed towards Sora and Taichi.

Sora tilted her head slightly, breathing in a little, anticipating on what was about to come. Koushirou mimicked her, straightening his body a bit while his heart sped up, throbbing out of his chest. He swallowed as Sora moved closely in a very slow way. "Is this okay?" She asked to no one in particularly, probably not seeking for answers, just loose wonders. Koushirou answered anyway.

"I did wonder what it'd be like…" he spoke, moving forward as well to meet her half way. A short moment of hesitation by both of them made them stop, their faces only mere inches apart. But with curiosity, wondering and craving stronger than the hesitation, they bridged those last inches, their lips finding each other in a kiss Koushirou had secretly dreamed of, but never expected to happen. Or be this satisfying, his hands having a mind of their own, reaching for her body like Taichi had done to pull her closer and tighter. Gentle, but with want. He could feel her hands cupping his face, her lips smile against his lips in the kiss. As they closed in, he could feel her beating heart going insane.

"Holy shit." Taichi said unable to keep his mouth shut. Sora parted from Koushirou, rapidly blinking while showing him a smile and licking her lips. Then she turned around to face Taichi.

"Taichi… Are you okay?" She asked.

"If you're not comfortable with this—" Koushirou added, but was interrupted shortly after.

"Are you kidding me? Please don't ever stop doing this!" Taichi excitedly said, sounding like a kid on a fancy fair. "I think I just discovered something and I might not be able to sleep tonight."

They somehow ended up in bed together, all three of them. Sora in the middle with Taichi on her right and Koushirou himself on her left side. There had been a lot of kissing and Koushirou's lips did sting a little, dry from the lip locking, his throat dry from the love that was given and received.

After all the touching and some more kissing, Koushirou felt satisfied for the evening. Lying next to each other, hands scattered all over each other, all connected through one another, he felt like drifting off into a peaceful slumber. And as he slowly fell into his desired sleep, his mind heavy with thoughts to turn into dreams and heart loaded with unexpected but satisfying new feelings, he could finally place that itchy thought in the back of his head. The feeling of the 'something more' he was missing squeezed between himself and Taichi, an extra that had been right in front of him for the past month.

Koushirou looked at Sora. Yes, he had always cherished her and he was happy she was here with him. With them. Looking at Taichi and the way he was holding onto Sora and Koushirou reminded him that these two humans were possibly the ones he wanted to spent the rest of his life with. Or maybe he was sure. He closed his eyes, smiling wide. All Koushirou knew for sure was that the future held endless possibilities for the three of them together and that waking up tomorrow wouldn't be a dream. And that was enough to know for now.
